Guest Reviews
- Johnathan (10/5): The Trailside Inn is peaceful bliss. - The Trailside Inn is a skier's paradise. The peace and calm, the breakfast, the guidance, and the care for one's equipment are perfect foe the avid skier. Nothing gets better. This is my favorite vacation spot, a 10-hour drive, worth it every time.
- Victoria (10/5): Would return to Trailside Inn every time I visit Killington VT. - The owners were so helpful with recommendations for dinner and other winter outdoor activities. The hotel had ski boot warmers available and a place to store skis. The entire Inn had a mountain vibe that was perfect for Killington. no TV

- don (9/5): Great place to stay when skiing at Killington - Ski Boot rack with dryers/heaters available near entrance. Good breakfast included in price. Only a short drive to the ski area. Nice and quiet. No fireplace fire burning in the community room

Fantastic Stay with Incredible Service and Amenities!
I recently stayed at the Trailside Inn, and I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience. The inn combines rustic charm with modern comfort, making it the perfect getaway for anyone looking to unwind or explore the area. The rooms were spotless, cozy, and well-equipped.
The game room was a fantastic bonus—perfect for relaxing evenings with friends or family. Whether it was playing games or just enjoying the laid-back vibe, it added so much fun to our stay. The lounge area was equally wonderful, with a large TV and a beautiful fireplace that created a warm and inviting atmosphere. It was the perfect spot to relax after a day of outdoor activities.
What made the stay even more memorable was the incredible staff. They were genuinely friendly and incredibly helpful, going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.
The Trailside Inn is truly a gem, offering everything you could want in a mountain retreat. I can’t wait to come back and would highly recommend it to anyone!
- Carlos (8/5): - It’s a cosy and well maintained property
- Stephen (4/5): Disappointing - Great location, good breakfast, friendly staff. The location of the room we were in was very noisy, was hard to sleep, then was woken by hammering into the ceiling under our bed at 6:50 the next morning (Christmas eve), had to ask front desk to have this maintenant delayed. Perhaps the stay would have been better in a different room.
- Gina (10/5): - Wonderful little hotel and very convenient for skiing.
- Fasih (10/5): - We had a great time. The owners were on ground and were very helpful, accommodating and hospitable. The fireplace was just beautiful and the rooms were very big and comfortable. Very accessible and yet secluded.
- Grainne (10/5): - Lots of space and generous continental breakfast was included. Clean and quiet. Friendly owners. Thank you!
- Michael (8/5): - The Innkeeping team was very helpful and the property was clean and well appointed. I definitely would book again when I'm in the area
- Robert (10/5): - Loved it!
- Mark (8/5): Worth the trip - Cool vibe Room was a bit small. The hard boiled eggs were hard to peel.
- Teresa (5/5): Passable -
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bjorn (10/5): Lovely and quiet. - Lovely, quiet place near Killington ski area. Breakfast was good, bed was comfy, would stay here again.
- Seifallah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harvey (8/5): - I like the location to the green mountain forest hiking trails. I don’t like the bathroom is very small. I also have the issue with sounds coming from the a/c unit in the room. My first night was very quiet and second night sounds happen to occur. I believe, they came from the next door room running the a/c unit.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, nice little inn in the woods. Very friendly people running the place!
- Frank (10/5): cozy, clean place for the weekend - Me and my friend had a great time. It was better than expected. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The place is gorgeous and very clean.
- Christy (10/5): - Love the Trailside Inn. This is our second year in a row and had a great time. Love the lodge feel with big fireplace and the sledding on the golf course next door. We will be back!
- Xiaoling (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay there. Your Inn has lots of historical character, with its re purposed barn beam tables and chairs, and the rugged feel of wooden building. Combine this with more modern amenities such as very fast WiFi, and a hearty breakfast, and you get an amazing Inn. Overall, we had a lot of fun at Killington this year, and we loved the stay at your Inn. If we return to Killlington, we will certainly consider staying here again.
- MH (10/5): - Excellent location to go skiing in Killington. The staff was super friendly and the Inn is nicely located near everything around Killington within a short driving distance.
- Janet (8/5): - Place was rustic, and clean. Bedroom was simple and very cute looking. Loved the sink. Had game room but we didn't see it. Decent continental breakfast. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Only downfall is we didn't love the mattress and pillows were very flat and only one each.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Super friendly and informed staff! Helped us with Ski tickets.
- TSkis (8/5): - The Trailside was a great weekend getaway to ski at Killington. The owners were lovely. Super knowledgeable about the area. There is nice fireplace to relax after skiing and a really fun game room for kids and adults.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This property was very unique and super cozy. I stayed in a family room with 5 adults and it was very spacious. The lodge was very family like and if you wanted to you could make friends by the fire place to hang with for the weekend! Overall my group was very impressed and we would definitely book again!
- edward (10/5): Great place to stay - Just a overnight stay, 3 adults and 2 16 year olds. I cant say enoght great things about this inn. We will be back and for a longer stay
- Antonio (10/5): - We felt like at home. Killington FIS race weekend crowd very friendly. Ann & Josh very accomodating. Will be back.
- Jennifer (8/5): - I loved it
- George (6/5): - I really have nothing bad to say about the property. It was a good stay and perfect for our purposes at Killington.
As has been mentioned a number of times, the breakfast was great. Local eggs, fresh peanut butter and local jam were all excellent!!! The coffee was very good, better than you get at most hotels.
The bed was definitely a queen bed and quite comfortable.
We arrived late and our key was waiting with directions to our room, which was very helpful.
There were a couple of things that I thought could use a bit of improvement. The room is on a slight slant so there is a wood stopper to stop the bed. This slipped out on more than one occasion and the bed tolled. Putting a lock on the wheels would be a better solution. The shower was quite small and the water pressure in the shower was acceptable, but could be better. There was very little furniture in the room, just the beds and a small end table. And as we knew, there was no air conditioner. If you are prone to getting hot at night, that can be an issue. I was unable to engage the deadbolt lock on the door. Probably should have mentioned that while we were there, but I never felt we needed to use it. We always felt very safe there.
As I said, there was nothing bad to say. The innkeepers take great care of the property and do all they can to keep you comfortable during your stay.
- David (10/5): - This place was great stay and very clean! Staff was friendly and helpful! Definitely will visit again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great staff made the stay even more enjoyable! A real family feel
- Randi (8/5): Nice play to stay, convenient location, very clean - We had a great time staying here for the weekend. It was within a 10 minute drive from all of the food spots. And only a little further to the ski resort. The place was incredibly clean and well kept. Gorgeous common room/living room. Our room was small but comfortable. Breakfast included was great but not many breakfast options. No tv in our room. Unfortunately we weren’t able to change our own temperature in the room and it was quite chilly. Not much parking available but we made it work. I booked a queen bedroom but only got a full size bed which was frustrating. However, overall it was a great place and would recommend it. The owners are super nice and welcoming.
- Dawn (10/5): Trailside Inn - We were very pleased with this hotel. It's within a ten minute drive to the ski area and even closer to ski shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend this place.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Long Weekend at Trailside - My fiancé and I stayed this past weekend at the Trailside. We were pleased to be greeted by the Innkeepers right away when we arrived. The innkeepers were very nice and welcoming. Our room was very clean and had been updated. However, The pillows were not very comfortable , luckily we brought our own.. The bed was very comfortable and we got some good sleep. We were disappointed that there was no TV in our room and no refrigerator. We have stayed at a similar type of Inn in Vermont before that had a TV and refrigerator. We liked the fact that we could bring in our ski boots and put them right the fireplace... We also wished there was more of a hot breakfast, eggs/ waffles... Overall, the stay was nice, quiet and pleasant.
- David (10/5): The PERFECT place to stay! - My 12-year old son and I went skiing at Killington over the holiday weekend. The Trailside Inn was PERFECT! It Is less than 10 minutes from the mountain (nice to be off the "strip") but fulfills all our needs. The owners/hosts are an incredible couple that makes everyone feel welcome. Josh & Ann gave us plenty of information/tips regarding best ski trails, restaurants, activities, etc. They made hot chocolate and popcorn for all the kids while watching Christmas movies. Yea!
The Inn is warm and inviting. They store our skis in a backroom and have them out, ready to go, at 7:30 am for the days' runs. The great room is big enough to accommodate several families, but cozy enough to sit in front of the fireplace and chat or watch tv. The breakfast options are good (cereals, muffins, bagels, oatmeal, etc.) along with fruit and juice/coffee/tea. The rooms are clean, have GREAT showers, plenty of linens, and gives privacy when needed.
Big game room downstairs. Pool table. . tv . . . corn hole . . .
Next time we’re in the area, we will definitely go there again!!
- Ronit (10/5): Friendly, quiet, family oriented - This small family oriented inn is super cute and fun. The owner make you feel at home, my kids LOVED it!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to stay - Great owners very accommodating loved the great room hot water and tea available 24 hrs a day . Rooms very clean
- Paul (10/5): - Great place friendly owners healthy breakfast.Old school ski lodge with beautiful common room for cards, wine, and socializing
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good place to catch some rest, simple, clean, effective
- Joop (10/5): Nice, friendly and clean - We were very pleased during our visit/stay at the Trailside Inn.
Coming from Hollland (Europe) we enjoyed the warm welcome en friendliness we encountered. Might we come again we will surely visit the Traiside Inn again.
Meanwhile we will mention the Inn to all our friends as a perfect place to stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Owners are kind and nice. Great place with a fire place.
- Sam (10/5): Cute inn close to everything - Loved our stay. Fireplace is amazing and the owners are fantastic and super friendly. Secluded yet close enough to everything. Room was super simple but comfy.
- Phu (10/5): Staying in Killington? Look no further! - Fantastic place to stay with friends. I visited with 2 friends to run the Spartan Race and stayed 2 nights. Josh and his family were gracious hosts, setting up some backyard Kan Jam and had a great night out by the outdoor fireplace. Breakfast was full of fresh local options; eggs, bagels, yogurt, fruit, cereal, homemade jam and homemade peanut butter. Great BYOB common area with lots of comfy seating and a big TV if you're looking to watch some football with the guys. I would not stay anywhere else in Killington. Stay here!!!
- Brad (8/5): Great place - A great place to stay. I have stayed here a bunch of times the last couple of years and I am never disappointed.
- Stephen (10/5): Welcoming Country Inn Near Killington, VT - Ann & Josh make guests welcome the second you enter their inn. They have a large, well-lit common/family area off the check-in desk with a roaring fireplace and plenty of couches. Perfect for reading, conversation, or just relaxing with friends. The rooms are modern country … clean, bright, wide-plank floors and new bathrooms. Wonderful spot, caring/friendly innkeepers, and reasonably priced.
- Denise (2/5): Horrible Inn Customer Service - I was not happy with the proprietors of this Inn. I mistakenly booked a single room with had a twin bed but received unsatisfactory services with the Inn's owners when we arrived after mid-night. I drove 4 hours with my boyfriend and we were not treated well the next day of our two night stay. Upon arrival, the owner indicated that we could move to another room the following night baiting us then he stated he could not and asked us to leave the 2nd night - due to fire code. We were up for a ski weekend and this ended poorly with no other option than to drive home the following day. I plan not to stay at this Inn in the future and recommend that readers of this review find another place to stay when in the Killington, VT area!
- Alyssa (10/5): Hidden gem near Killington Ski Resort! - I've never wrote a review on any product or hotel until now and that is because the Trailside Inn deserves all the recognition it could get! To start, the owners Josh and Ann are fantastic.
We arrived Friday night after a long drive from Long Island - we were immediately greeted by Josh who welcomed us to the lodge and took the time to show us the best trails at Killington and offered advice on restaurants near by.
It was very cold Saturday so we didn't stay long at the mountain. When we came back we were surprised to see how many guests were hanging out by the fire in the lobby. We joined the guests and Josh for a fun afternoon filled with great discussions and laughter. I've never seen a place where a bunch of strangers can sit around and talk like we did - it was great and I truly give credit to Josh and Ann for building this type of environment.
Josh recommended a fantastic restaurant Saturday night called The Backroom. The restaurant is owned by friends of his and had a few cancellations so when Josh explained the restaurant to us and offered us 2 seats we couldn't resist! We couldn't believe how delicious it was.
I could go on forever about how great our experience was at The Trailside Inn. The rooms are very basic and don't include TVs but that's what made the experience all the better. Today we see so many people sitting in front of a TV or on their mobile devices that human interactions get put on the back-burner. It was a great experience to unplug & relax.
- Michael (4/5): Mediocre - Room was really pricey for what it was. Room was extremely tiny, with no refrigerator or TV. The shower was extremely awkward from the positioning of the shower head and the water actually hurt when it hit your body. 50% of the water ended up on the bathroom floor, because the curtain wasn't low enough and had no magnets to hold it to the bottom of the shower stall. I didn't even use the shower the next day, it was that bad.
The wifi was also pretty bad. They had multiple free options that popped up, but some wouldn't connect and the others that did, were terribly slow.
Also the walls were paper thin, and I could hear every person who walked down the hall, every door the opened and creeked, and anyone who was talking out in the hallway.
It wasn't all terrible though. The place was clean, the lobby was nice, the employees were all nice and the basement game room was a lot of fun, considering I had nothing in the room to stay in there for.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great no Frills "cabin in the woods" feel! - Josh and Ann are the perfect hosts. Their Inn is charming, well kept and organized. This was a great place for my family. The game room needs some minor updating. It includes billiards, cornhole and foosball. The continental breakfast was better than expected with fresh locally produced items. The fireplace in the great room was a perfect gathering area APRE ski for the adults to meet and have cocktails, or chat about the local beer scene!.
This is our new Favorite in the Kllington area!
Thanks for a fantastic stay!
