Guest Reviews
- Paul (8/5): -
- Lillie Minard (8/5): -
- Fuller (9/5): - Cheap and high quality for that price Confusion of how to check out
- Rajeev (7/5): - Restaurant and staff Receptionist was helpful. Bathroom could have been cleaner with toiletries
- Deborah (9/5): -
- Joanne (8/5): Convenient - Close to highway Everything was fine
- Herbert (2/5): Would never stay there again - Attached restaurant, Boomerang's, is great. Shower didn't work, TV didn't work, coffee maker didn't work, beds were soft, the chair in the room was uncomfortable
- Shirley (2/5): - Our stay was terrible. The name hotel for this place is a joke, it’s more of a motel so don’t be fooled. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the check in process was not clear. The motel section of the Magnuson was confusing since is attached to a restaurant. Honestly, it seems like the motel was a secondary thought when compared to the restaurant it was attached to, almost like a flip gone wrong. There are no phones in the rooms to call the front desk with, our traveling companion’s room was disgusting, his bed had stained sheets and a tub that had a yellow ring around it. Our room had what looked like splatters of possible food from a previous guest on the wall and the chairs were dirty. The front desk lady was nice enough to change our companion to a slightly cleaner room but the couches and chairs in his room were horribly stained and foul looking. The beds were hard as rocks, I’m not sure how anyone could get a good nights rest. We ended up leaving in the early hours of the morning because neither one of us could really fall asleep or relax, so not do not recommend staying here, we just happened to have to book due to other hotels being sold out but we would’ve been more comfortable sleeping in the car or driving straight home after our event instead of wasting our time trying to get some sleep there. I will say, the food at the attached restaurant was very good.
- Hamilton (6/5): - Good: clean room, friendly staff, connected to a bar/restaurant and comedy club, right off of the highway. Bad: the shower has wildly inconsistent temperatures and some other guests were incredibly loud in the halls and outdoor area, waking us up multiple times.
- Samuel (8/5): - The staff was amazingly helpful and responsive, especially Jennifer.
- Alicia (4/5): - I think the expression goes, “if it is too good to be true”.
Don’t be confused with the Budget-in, that shares a courtyard, parking lot, and dumpster that has several dirty mattresses around on the ground. This is the type of environment, where it may be cheaper for people to stay than pay rent. The front desk closes at 7pm, so you’ll have to go into the restaurant, and check in. Which isn’t awful, just confusing. Once you walk through the doors, you will see a nice average looking restaurant, that also has a few gaming areas, that the kids will immediately love! Once you pass through the double doors, to the hotel area, you will be greeted (in the hallway) with the smell of your old, smoky Aunt, and something else that people smoke for their glaucoma concerns. We ordered a deluxe non-smoking room. At first, I thought maybe the photos on the website were taken with a .5 lens. Although we booked a non-smoking room, our room (that was eligible for smoking) per the room number sign, did not smell nearly as bad as the hallway. Not only is the room not temperature regulated, you HAVE TO keep the fan consistently going all night, or you will hear the individual in the room next to you violently vomiting at 5 AM. Or, when an individual starts their very loud motorcycle right outside your bedroom window, at 7 AM. The room conveniently has 2 doors. The door from the hallway that has an overwhelming aroma, and a door to the outside court area which has a beer bucket for your butts
- Jack (7/5): Just ok - Attached restaurant. Locked doors.
- Alex (2/5): - Terrible
- Uriel (6/5): - Great restaurant, activities and staff.
Shower wasn’t good because of unit to make the water stop filling the tub wasn’t working properly.
- Michael (8/5): - There were only two outlets in the room including the bathroom. Check in was confusing with the bar.
- Braulio (10/5): Nice, small hotel - I just stayed for one night on a Friday. The hotel is attached to a Bar/comedy club/club. I got there early and ate at the restaurant. It was very quiet but after 9PM it turns into a bar/club. it has indoor and outdoor seating with a DJ. It also has a game room. The place was very active. The hotel room was very nice and clean. Bigger than what I expected. This is a great place to just lay your head and a good starting point to site see around the area. This place is great if you are a younger couple, as it has a party like atmosphere, but it did not get in the way of me getting a good night sleep. The desk person who registered me was also very nice.
- Ryan (4/5): - Run down. Loud. Remote.
- Donald (2/5): Ok - Didn’t drive after drinking Got drugged at the bar we both did
- Nadine (9/5): I was satisfied with my stay - The room was nice and clean and bed was comfortable.
- Bob (10/5): - The lady working the desk super nice lady interacted great with my granddaughter. We checked in the 18th. Checked out the 20th. No issues
- Dory (9/5): Overall, it was a very nice place to stay. We enjoyed the restaurant, bar and game room. - We loved the size of our double room. We loved the game room. The doors to the front were locked in the morning. There was no one on site to ask a question to in the morning.
- Jonathan (6/5): - Couldn’t check in at 2am, had to call someone from the bar to get to my room
- Joseph (8/5): - We loved our large room with two couches and two beds. The restaurant was convenient and DELICIOUS!!! We used the game room to hang out with our large family group
- Matthew (10/5): A+ Bartenders - Would have enjoyed a little more comfortable bed, but overall this place was fantastic. I stayed for 3 nights, I arrived very late on night one, and the host could not have been more accommodating. Room was clean, generally quiet after last call. We were close to the bar and restaurant. The staff at the bar was amazing, great bartenders. We arrived late every evening and it was great to wind down there every night. Will stay again when in the area.
- MARK (8/5): - Had a great stay here and was pleasantly surprised by their amenities. Room was clean and quiet and there was plenty of parking and great dining options at the location. Perfect for truck drivers and travelers.
- Smith (2/5): Very poor - When it was time to check out. So many things. You have the hostess for the restaurant running check-in, and seem very disheveled. The biggest part we are unhappy about is that we checked-in Friday night for a stay until Sunday. We left the hotel Saturday morning for an event, and after we got back to the hotel, our keys did not work. I went to the office and the guy tried to blame me saying my cellphone wiped it out. He gave me 2 new keys and qhen I opened the door, there was somebody else checked into our room! What??? The girl, Jen, downplayed it and said it was just a mistake, like it was no big deal. I asked to speak to the person who runs the hotel, she shrugged her shoulders and went like she was going to find them, but I never saw her again after waiting 30 minutes in the lobby, and never saw the manager. The room we got moved to did not have a slide bolt on the door, so there were multiple security concerns, as well as personnel behavior. This is unacceptable, and I expect to be compensated for this. I am not happy!
- Rose (10/5): - This place was so cool! I loved the quiet. Right down the hallway? A beautiful bar a restaurant and pinball pool tables it’s like a night out and then you can walk back to your room no driving! Plus Jen was so sweet and kind checking me in I felt comfortable and relaxed as soon as I met her, such a beautiful lady with a warm personality! Thank you for a great stay❣️💯❤️🌹
- Michelle (2/5): - The only good thing about the place is the rooms were semi clean. Some are the Cons: woke up daily to the smell of marijuana in the halls, No one is ever at the front to answer questions, when you call the number sometimes you will get an answer and sometimes you won’t, top sheet on bed only no fitted sheet, pillows are flat, no place to really get ready, no iron in the room, when showering the water doesn’t drain so you’re standing in your dirty water, tv remote was broke and duct taped, could only watch one channel, the whole environment felt like the ghetto, I highly recommend if you have children to not take them there, you couldn’t get the room to a perfect temperature, and I could go on and on. I will never give this place my business again!
- Jason (4/5): Disappointing - It is part of the bar and comedy club Finding the check in office is difficult.
- Brandye (10/5): - The lady at the front desk was very kind and helpful. The atmosphere was fun and inviting. Room was clean.
- Andres (10/5): - Good
- autumn (10/5): Amazing - It was really friendly. Staff was amazing! Lots of activities to keep you busy. You don't have to go anywhere but there for a great time. The food is amazing!!!! I would definitely say its a diamond in the rough
- Copeland (7/5): Met my expectations. - Great location for the venue. There was only one electrical outlet to charge my devices. We had to charge the second phone in the bathroom.
- Molly (2/5): Awful experience - Hotel has given my boyfriend and I 4 key cards the first 2 key cards did not work the room we went back and got 2 more key cards that worked. My boyfriend and I left to get ice and our key cards has stopped working and we were locked out of our rooms with no phones, identification, car keys or any of personal belongings. Also my medicine I have to take every night at a certain time. We had to call a lock smith to open the door because there is no staff on sight at night and no phone number other than the front desk which no one answered. We also called the cops who never showed up. When speaking with manager the next morning and messaging the property via Facebook I was told that I committed a crime and was trying to extort the property as I wanted them to pay the lock smith bill. They also told me I made up the text messages with the lock smith. .. my bf and I left the room to get ice which there was no ice machine, our comforter on our nasty stains on it. DO NOT STAY HERE. We were locked out for 5 hours
- Larissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- steve (10/5): - Room furnishings are pretty outdated but its very clean and usable. For the price its a great deal. Its my go to when i vist the area several times a year.
- Ney (3/5): Could have been better. - I don’t even know what to say here honestly The hotel room I booked was completely different from what had been advertised and promised. The photos and descriptions led me to believe we would be staying in a clean, modern, and spacious room, but instead, we were met with a small, outdated, and poorly maintained space. To make matters worse, when I tried to contact customer service to address these issues, no one answered my calls, leaving me feeling frustrated and ignored. I was extremely unhappy with both the condition of the room and the lack of support from the hotel staff.
- Tristin (10/5): - So many things to do in the place and very friendly staff!
- John (2/5): - I would never stay at this property again. It was old and dated. There were only flat sheets on the be so you wind up sleeping on a bare mattress at night, no mattress pad.
- Christopher (6/5): - Water was hot, heater worked well. The tv was not user friendly and the beds were the worst we have EVER slept on! Convience to comedy club was the only perk.
- Robert (8/5): A decent stay - Not a bad place to stay but two things on this trip. #1 About 1am a group of drunk loud folks were in the hallway making noise and #2 there was no TV remote so I couldn’t turn on and turn up the tv.
- Bianca (7/5): Good -
- Bianca (6/5): Pleasant -
- Nicole (2/5): Did not stay. Bedding was disgustingly stained. Found new hotel. No customer service available to handle complaint. Had -
- Robert (10/5): Always a good stay at the Magnuson. - Always a good stay at the Magnuson. My only regret is missing dinner at Boomerangs. Next time!
- Shayne (9/5): Superb -
- Mablelyn17864 (9/5): Superb - Courtyard No USB plugs
- Jordan (4/5): Unsatisfactory, checked out early- no refund available. Didn’t get sleep for 2 nights. - Availability Drunk patrons being loud walking from the bar to the outside area to smoke, loud bass from the club heard through the walls. Weekends they close late. Not able to sleep for work.
- Justus03 (9/5): Superb -
- Matthew (10/5): Nice amenity’s and clean - This place compared to the other options in the area for the price is awesome. It’s clean and nobody lives here from what I can tell. There is a hotel next door that’s really rough but this one is worth the money. The comedy club is really cool and there’s a full bar. I’m here on work so it’s nice to have a resort style atmosphere that’s clean to come home to. The hotel next door and the woman with the dog that lunged at me.
- Tommysmommy (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, very safe with lots of cameras, friendly & attentive staff! We will return.
- Tommysmommy (10/5): Thumbs up!! - Soooo clean- friendly staff & perfect location!
- Michael (9/5): Superb - The mattress could’ve used a mattress cover and a fitted sheet.
- Heidi (7/5): Good - Great staff and great restaurant
- Justus03 (9/5): Superb -
- Thomas (10/5): - The staff was very helpful
- Erin (4/5): - stains on furniture upon check in and very loud
- Joy (6/5): - Staff was great and always very hospitable, it was quite refreshing. However rooms felt very outdated like 15 years old. No USB charging, I think there was one electrical outlet, limited toiletries. Lots of improvement to keep up needed, but staffing and ambience is great!.
- Jodi (2/5): - Upon arrival was hard to find the hotel as it was located behind another hotel. At check-in found out that there is no round the clock staff so if you happen to lose your key or demagnetize your key, you are completely out of luck if you get locked out of your room. That being said, upon arriving to our room walking through the hallway and in the room, you could clearly tell that this is a smoking. Even though it stated it was non-smoking, which I need because my son is asthmatic. Once we got in the room the stench from old cigarette smoke was overwhelming , not to mention the room was just dirty. The sheets were stained. There was no telephone in the room. We went to try to plug in our phones to find out. There was literally one outlet that they already had an extension cord plugged into to operate the television, the microwave, and the little refrigerator in the room . So charging our phones had to be done out in our car. We also had to go purchase cleaning supplies to clean the room before we could even use the bathroom because it was just dirty. The only reason we ended up staying there was because it was just one night otherwise I would’ve left . Absolutely will never ever use this hotel again and do not recommend it. It is noisy, it is dirty and just not worth it.
- William (8/5): - Good
- Tracy j (10/5): - Great will stay again
- Caroline (10/5): Awesome - Best hotel we’ve ever been to. The manager was really nice and proud to show us all of the amenities of the hotel - restaurant, bar, comedy club, etc. We’ll definitely come back here next time we’re around!
- Marquardt (8/5): Very good - Clean rooms and the staff were great. The bar was nice! Very much a tavern experience. The check-in area could have been labeled better or had better signage. Also, the air conditioner had the tendency to squeak each time it finished a cycle. All night.
- Dwayne (3/5): A nightclub with rooms… and basically self service - Nice restaurant/ bar This is basically a nightclub with rooms to stay, music “bumping” until 2am, hotel office says open at 10:30 however locked up until 3pm, phone number rings to the bar, so no option to check in early… their “deluxe queen” is nothing more than a full size bed…
- Louis (8/5): - One of the better motels I ever stayed at. The connected restaurant and bar is super convenient. The only thing i can criticize is that i didn't see an ice machine. Overall, i was satisfied and would stay again.
- Toni-Lee (10/5): - Staff is very nice and helpful
- SHARON (10/5): - Staff was great especially the girl that checked us in.The food was good and there was a lot to do . The room was clean but a little dated. It was a good value hotel.
- Junnita (8/5): It was okay for what it was - It was good for the purpose. But no fitted sheet on the bed and no telephone in the room. Weird. But it was connected to a comedy show and a restaurant bar and a game room so that was cool. I will stay there again.
- jeffery (6/5): - The TV could’ve been larger and worked better. Half the channels didn’t work the ones that didn’t work we’re kind of scrambled.
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- tavis (8/5): - Great price with a great restaurant and bar attached. Would be nice if the office was open early in the morning for checkout vs dropping the key in a outside mail box.
- PETER (8/5): - Room & motel area was clean & looked like they were recently updated. Restaurant was on-site and food/drinks were reasonably priced and good tasting. Plenty of thing to do Re: music, pool, air hockey, video games, etc. Only drawback were several loud and obnoxious people leaving the bar later in the evening, but tolerable.
- Deborah (9/5): Superb -
- Edward (10/5): - OK for the money
- Chris (10/5): - 2nd stay here. Rooms are dated but clean. Staff was helpful. Price was very nice. Would stay again.
- Gurpreet (7/5): Good -
- Polly (10/5): - For the price it was amazing. Definitely a place where the weekend is happening so don’t expect a quiet night if you’re going to stay there on the weekends. There are weird hours as far as when you could come into the building but overall I really enjoyed the day. It was a good location and I felt safe.
- Ashok (8/5): Very good -
- Jean (8/5): Very good -
- Keith (8/5): - Overall a great place. Conscience of the restaurant in the hotel was perfect. Great food and friendly staff.
- Chad (6/5): - Love the property, but didn’t get my $50 back after the stay. Which I am not okay with, I’m a little frustrated. But everything else I am okay with
- Kimberly (7/5): Good -
- Melissa (5/5): Okay for the cost - The location was great because it was right off the highway. The room was clean. We arrived after the check in time which I knew would happen so I planned ahead and was able to have my brother, who was also staying at the hotel, check me in and get our room keys when he checked in earlier in the day. Luckily I did this though because when we arrived all of the doors were locked. The only way I could access the building was to wait in the lobby until someone exited the bar area. When my brother tried to let us in, the door that he came through initially was locked with a deadbolt and would not open from the rooms side of the lobby so he couldn't get out. He tried different hallways and doors until he was able to get out and walk all the way around the building. The hallways stunk really bad. One of our beds didn't have a sheet on it and was EXTREMELY squeeky but the other one was fine. There were absolutely no plugs in the sleeping area of the room and only one in the bathroom so it was impossible to charge all of our electronic devices. We weren't given any instructions on whether or not checking out was necessary and when I tried to access the front of the building through the hallway, the door was still locked around 9am. I walked around the building and tried to go through the main entrance but those doors were also locked so I was not able to get into the building to check out with an actual person. I did run into another person that was staying there while searching the halls for an open door and he didn't know about the check out process either.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Visiting family in the area
- Justus03 (8/5): I will stay again - Location, bar and restaurant No iron in room. No staff to talk to in the morning. Doors were locked to get to the office. Thank goodness my room key worked or I would have been locked out with no one to talk to. Phone wasn't answered either
- Chelsea (6/5): - Lady at check in was wonderful. However we had ants in our bathroom, and maintaining a safe water temperature was extremely difficult with small children. It was extremely hot water
- Jeffery (9/5): Superb - Great price
- Verified traveler (8/5): It was ok! - We got this room on a whim for a wedding near by. The reviews i saw were not that bad. So we went for it bc of the price. The bedding was clean, the ac was good. The air quality in the room was poor. I also smelled weed and cigarette smoke coming from the hallway. Also there were some ants in the bathroom along with human hair in the toilet. Honestly wouldnt stay there again!
- Susan (5/5): Passable -
- Mary (10/5): - nice job
- Linda (6/5): - The room was reasonably priced and location was near the highway...attached restaurant had good food...staff was nice and helpful. Exterior doors of building were not secure ...NO breakfast served!...hallway had deodorizers that did not conceal the smell
- Weber (6/5): Pleasant - Restaurant in hotel had a nice selection. Bartender very professional and friendly The lights in the room didn't work, only the overhead lights worked
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Right down the hall from Boomerang
- Kay (10/5): - This was our second time staying there. The staff was great. On site we enjoyed the comidy club, playing pool and the atmosphere of the bar.
If you drive 10 to 15 min, there is a lot stores ,restaurants , and activities to do.
It is a great central located, then go back to relax, enjoy the bar and food without worrying about driving.
- Melissa (7/5): Good -
- CAssidy, (10/5): - Place
Offered
A grea bar, restaurant, , Comedy
Shows,, etc . The help was fantastic!
- Katherine (7/5): Good -
- Robert (8/5): Check it out - Right at interstate exit, unusual layout; main entrance was in the restaurant; great steak dinner; nice outside courtyard.
- Kenneth (4/5): Won’t be back - No breakfast Security was not good. Outside access by anybody, doors not secure. Security on room door was broken. No phone in room and No desk clerk at night or morning. Check in for some guests was terrible
- Chanda (9/5): Superb -
