Guest Reviews
- David (2/5): beware. many issues - it was cheapish. no hot water. ok to be fair i got lukewarm water after about 20 minutes. no soap. I had to go to the front desk to get some. the freeway noise was awful.
- Alan Adrian (8/5): - Good hotel
- Robert (6/5): - Pleasant stay was pleasant
- Matthew (10/5): - Nice staff nice location excellent overall
- Scherry (6/5): - Comfortable enough. Clean.
Very dated.
Breakfast did not look good
- Mark (10/5): - Great place for the price.
- Jamie (3/5): Not comfortable, didn’t sleep well - Dog friendly It smelled like Indian food when I got there. I had booked it as traveling with a pet but they initially gave me a non pet room. The room I got had very old mattress and pillows, the sheets were poor quality and the bed was lopsided. There was also a metal piece of the bed sticking out of both beds at about shin level. The back door didn’t shut well, and neither of my two keys worked in my room door. After telling the front desk, they reprogrammed them and then one of them worked.
- Sandi (3/5): Will not stay here again. - I had to leave by 5:30 am so the breakfast was not open. I paid extra for a pet, but the room we were put it was extremely small. The beds were hard. The shower towels were tore up rags.
- Katie (10/5): - Good
- Albert (2/5): - I would never ever go back and stay at that motel ever again!!! This building is so old everything doesn’t work. Carpet is so old and stink, stains on the bedding, pillows, walls.
Don’t count on their free continental breakfast. When we were there there was only 1 broken piece of hash brown and that was pretty much it.
Don’t waste your money going to this place. Drive a few miles away to the other exit and get a better room.
- Jessica (10/5): - I loved the staff. Very friendly and pleasant to interact with. The room was good for the price we paid and i would definitely stay again!
- ED (10/5): - It's a very nice place and convenient.
- bryan (2/5): - Staff gave my room to somebody else because they failed to read an ID correctly. Furthermore tried to give me a room with 1 bed when I purchased 2. Cleanliness and upkeep of the property is similar to a motel in an abandoned building. Do not recommend
- Gordon (8/5): - I was pleasantly surprised and happy with the results.
- Warren (2/5): - Hotel.com messed up my reservation and need a refund or I’m going to dispute the charge
- workhardplayhard27 (8/5): Pleasantly Surprised - I had very low expectations for my stay at this property. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of my experience. My room was quiet, comfortable, and clean. The bed, pillows, and linens provided a very good night's rest. The large shower with a deluge shower head was a wonderful surprise.
This an older, well-used property, but the rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. It is located right on I-80, so if you need to get off the road and get a good night's rest this is a great option.
- Darla (8/5): - Convenient location. Room very hot and we couldn’t turn heat off
- Gen (10/5): - Nice folks. Great breakfast. Everything smelled clean.
- Gabriel (10/5): - I had a pleasant stay at this inn.
- Peter (10/5): - The staff and owners are excellent, very helpful and pleasant. This hotel is a safe, clean and enjoyable place. I highly recommend Pleasant Stay Inn and Suites to many other travellers ! Peter
- Larry (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (6/5): Meh. - The stench in the room was so terrible that I could smell it on my clothing and belongings even after I left.
Old discolored bedding. Sticky armchair. Dead flies all over the window sill. The light over the sink did not work.
- Jan (8/5): Pleasant Stay Inn and Suites - The hotel was clean and comfortable. It was not a new structure and could use some upgrades, but it provided a good night's sleep and pleasant accommodations. The staff was friendly. Parking was very accessible and the location was close to the interstate.
- Tanya (6/5): - Overall, a decent place to crash overnight during a long road trip. Conveniently located off the highway, next to a truck stop. The outside lighting is non-existent so if I was a female traveling alone I would hesitate to park far from the entrance. The staff was very nice. The room was clean except the towels from the previous guest were left balled up in the shower stall.
- Debra (8/5): - Very clean rooms and bathrooms. Fantastic water pressure in the shower. Great staff.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Excellent room and service. Interstate noise could be heard in the room.
- Tom (8/5): - Manager very polite, effeciant & courteus.
Explained what the hotel expects of customers.
Enjoyed, stay.
- Sylvia (10/5): - This property was clean and reasonably priced. I would stay there again when I am in the area.
- wayne (6/5): - motel was ok. breafast not so great at all.
- Mark (10/5): - Nice hotel to stop at on your way through. New towels and sheets, freshly painted, good water pressure
- Verified traveler (4/5): If it was the only place to stay I’d be camping. - They turn the hot water heaters off sometime around noon and back on around 4am. There were bugs in the room. The room smelled of cigarettes and curry. The carpeting was sticky and the bathroom floor was oily’ish.
- Rebecca (4/5): Not worth the money I paid. - Easy on and off the highway No hot water in the shower for over half an hour. Had to wait for someone to “turn it on”? Bed mattress was old, and lumpy, and covers were very light. There was also plastic over the fire detector which seems illegal??
- Stephen t (10/5): - Clean and quiet.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isabel (10/5): Pretty great for an overnight stay - Check-in was available late at night, the staff was pretty nice. The beds were comfortable and we liked the shower's higher water pressure. Great stay for overnight traveling. N/A
- John (10/5): - We had a single room. It was very neat and clean. Sometimes when you get a room that doesn't cost as much, you get lower quality. Not this one.
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- 530patn (10/5): It was a nice motel to stay in while we visited with friends in the area. - We spent 4 nights at this motel and were greeted warmly by the staff. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast sausages and the other items they had. The maid was very nice and did a great job of stocking our room. The lounge is very pretty and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.
- David (8/5): - Good
- Kristina (6/5): - Cold shower.
- Linda (2/5): - We stayed five nights. We woke up the last night to find our the floor in our room flooded from the AC leaking. They refused to refund our money for the night or to give us another room. The clerk wanted us to stay in the room until the housekeeps came in the morning and a repair came to fix the AC. This was our fifth night in a row staying at the hotel. I had been staying there two to three nights a week as I was working in Montezuma overnights as a nurse. I called the police who arrived and advised me they frequently receive complaints from people having problems with the management and the policeman advised me not to stay there anymore, but to go to Grinnell instead.
- Patty (8/5): - Directions
- Rodney (8/5): - This is a budget motel, which we found to be clean with a responsive staff. After we checked in, we discovered we had no hot water. The staff was responsive attempting to resolve the issue. When they realized the problem would not be quickly resolved, they gave us another room and offered a bit of a discount on the room rate we paid. My wife and I would stay here again if we pass through the area.
- Michelle (8/5): - Great stay, very clean. The noise at night was a little loud from the interstate. I would still stay here again. This hotel is about 7 miles outside East of Brooklyn, so you aren’t actually in Brooklyn. Breakfast was sausage, bagels, bread, cereal, bagels. Nothing fancy but filled us up. Denny’s is across the street if you are picky.
- Greg (10/5): Lots of visits - Very good for alow price motel. We've stayed there lots of times with no bad experiences
- Geoffrey (9/5): Superb -
- Douglas (8/5): - easy on and off to major highway
- Joseph (4/5): Not my first choice - My television remote didn’t work. Swapped it out and still didn’t work. Happened to look in the fridge and there was left over food still in it. Makes me wonder if the sheets were even clean
- LisaL6469 (10/5): It was a Pleasant stay for a single night! - Was a nice and pleasant stay! Exactly what we needed to layover for a night on our way out west from Cincinnati. It was clean, comfortable and a great rate! We were in room 302 on the 3rd floor but there was an elevator and our room was right next to it. We were on the expressway side but the noise didn’t bother us and the red lights on the windmills was kinda cool to see synchronized flashing at night. The bed was comfortable and the room and linens were clean. We travel as 2 adults no kids no pets, but I did see the hotel was pet friendly! We did not eat breakfast so I can’t comment about that. I would stay again!
- James (10/5): - Staff was friendly, check in easy and room was comfortable. FYI - They will ask for a credit card for incidentals.
- Jason (8/5): - Burgeoning
- James (10/5): - Staff was was freindly and helpful
- Mark (6/5): - It was a safe quiet place to sleep.
- Loren (10/5): - Nice clean independent hotel. A little dated but that’s fine. As long as the bed is comfortable and it’s clean.
- Glenice (8/5): Leisure travel - Stay was very comfortable
We had our puppy with us so that restricts the type of room we can have. Throughly thsnkful for the extra bars in bbatjroom due to knee surgery
- Robert (8/5): - Quiet and comfortable
- Julie (10/5): - Good locations and friendly staff
- jesus (10/5): - Excellent
- Nicholas (2/5): Horrible Smell - The room smelled horribly! It was so bad I had to go to a nearby store and buy air fresheners just to be able to tolerate it.
- Gary (10/5): - What a bargain for a one or two night stay.
- Henry (8/5): Very good -
- Donald (10/5): - Fast check-in and very nice person attending the front desk.
- Kevin (10/5): - Shower was better than at home
- Nuuh (10/5): Exceptional - It's best hotel Nothing, everything was fine
- Verified traveler (10/5): - As advertised.
- Cindy (4/5): - It was raining and the water was coming inside at the window sill. Management is aware and said it happens on both sides of the building.
- Vittorio (5/5): Passable -
- Mike (8/5): Would stay there again. - Room was clean and spacious, nice shower. Frontdesk not staffed. Had to call for frontdesk personnel, but generally responded quickly.
- Patricia (9/5): We were visiting friends in the area and this was a nice base for our visit. - The breakfast was nice, with several choices. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Our room was very clean and nice. Even though it’s right near I-80 it was very quiet. The lobby is pretty.
- William (2/5): - Cockroaches
- Patricia (4/5): -
- Alicia (4/5): - It’s close to a truck stop & highway 80. The hotel it self is very outdated. The furniture and everything NEED updating. Staff is friendly & helpful enough. The hotel quality don’t justify the nightly price.
- Erik (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good economy motel - Economy hotel. Good for a quick overnight stay.
- David (4/5): Disappointing -
- Mike (10/5): - Have stayed there many times. Its clean and comfortable. Nothing famcy but staff is great.
- Ismael (10/5): - Guess staff excellent
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Standard stay and service. Employees were ready to help any time and didn't have any issues. Generally clean and a good breakfast selection too.
- Quinn (4/5): - Staff was nice but the hotel is really run down. The beds were extremely old and one was sunken in. Had to fix the toilet ourselves, which had a black lining of something inside, the water wouldn't come out and when we finally got it to work, we had to wait half an hour for the next person to able to us it each time it was flushed. We could not adjust the water pressure because the valve was removed and the brass on the toiletpaper holder was getting green mold on it and was peeling. The room had an old musky smell as well. When we checked in the owner got upset at us that we didn't call to see if they accepted pets even though the hotel is advertised as pet friendly. He was nice enough to allow us to put our pets in the basement, however, it was filled with dead bugs including cockroaches all the way down the stairs.
- Kathleen (6/5): - It was just Ok. The room key kept deactivating which was irritating. Seemed to be short staffed but everyone was pleasant
- Leslie (6/5): Beds - The beds are way too small.
- Gary (4/5): - bug in blanket very uncomfortable bed and couch. I would burn them. They were not fit to give to a goodwill.
- Roger (10/5): - We had quick check in and friendly service. Parking was close to the hotel. Comfortable relaxing sleep in a small but cozy room, all for a reasonable price.
- Cliff (8/5): would stay again. like super 8 etc - comparable to super 8.
decent overnite stay.
breakfast was cold cereal etc.
- Robert (2/5): - Room was musty smelling, dingy
- Beard (7/5): clean room for the night -
- Steve (4/5): - I have stayed here in the past and liked it. This time, the pool was closed, the room smelled musty/stale and the breakfast reduced to junk.
- Jennifer (4/5): - Leak in the ceiling dripping into our bathroom. Mold on the bathroom ceiling. Terrible wet dog smell throughout the room.
- Edward (4/5): - Ki g size bed was two beds pushed together, one bed extremely soft and the other side very hard. Did not get a good sleep. Place was very clean!
- Barbara (4/5): - The price was good. It was clean The FREE breakfast, well we ate at Dennys and we are not that picky
Bring your own soap , theirs is so small you can hardly see it
Not that friendly either
- Miller (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (3/5): The place is a dump - The breakfast was terrible they had sausage patties laying on a electric skillet
- Denise (8/5): - Very friendly staff!
- Lora (10/5): - The property was clean inside and out, they had amenities available and a few at the front desk if you needed other things. I usually bring my amenities with me two I never really have an issue with that. The room was clean, alittle dated but it got the job done. We were just passing through for the night. The bathroom was clean, shower was nice. Water was warm. The bed was alittle creaky but comfortable. In the morning there was breakfast and that was good, it looked like they had a breakfast sandwich set up. Toast, some pasteries and some cereal. For the price to stay it was more than fine.
- Linda (10/5): - We stay here frequently, no probelms at all.
Staff is always friendly & very accommodating.
- Eric (4/5): - Just your average hotel. But very disturbing that house keeping try’s to bust in to your room at 8am without knocking and with the do not disturb on the door. Then continued to try and get in after I told her to leave.
- Jessica (8/5): Good place - Nice location. Clean room. Quiet.
- Mackenzie (2/5): - My friend and I (we are both woman in our early 20’s) felt very unsafe and uncomfortable here. When we arrived the person at the front desk was very rude and condescending. Once entering our room, it was filthy. It had not been cleaned in between guest, and we arrived 6 hours past the check in time. A man then approached us, said he worked for the hotel (while he was wearing sweat pants and a graphic tshirt), and said he would take our room key to the front desk to get it sorted out. Our room got upgraded to a king, but when we entered the room it had a strange smell. It was very musty, humid, and smelled like cigarettes. The room had been cleaned between guests, but it had not been cleaned cleaned. It was very dusty, grimy, and stains everywhere. I will NEVER stay here again, and definitely would not recommend. We left as soon as we could in the morning.
- Raquel (6/5): - Property us outdated
Staff was very friendly
- Marie (6/5): Pleasant - Was close to event front desk was friendly
Shower was nice Cleanliness had odor went to store and bought lysol and wipes need update to carpet
Breakfast was okay
