Guest Reviews
- Maria (2/5): - Poor conditios rooms need updates cabin to old and smell molds
- Maria (4/5): - Roooms are old and smell like mold
- SCOTT (8/5): - This a rustic old Gem!!! It reminds me of camp when I was a kid, but with AC, a bar, maid service, and restaurant. The grounds are wonderful for family fun! Gaps between some of the floor boards and around the door, but no bugs and the AC worked great. It has a very calm, relaxed feel. I would return and recommend to friends who can appreciate its rustic charm.
- Nicolas (2/5): Very disappointing experience – would not recommen - We had a very frustrating stay at this hotel. There was no staff available early in the morning or late at night, which made it impossible to get help with any requests or issues during those times.
The breakfast service was extremely slow—we waited over an hour and were not served at the promised time. On top of that, our rooms were not cleaned at all during our stay, and the bathrooms were not restocked with toilet paper, which is just unacceptable.
This level of service is far below what you’d expect from a hotel, and unfortunately, I can’t recommend it to anyone.
- John (10/5): - The service personnel were excellent.
The rooms we had were incomplete, light bulbs burnt out,
No hot water.
- Vladimir (10/5): I enjoyed the stayed . Hermoso ❤️ lugar.Acogedor. - Wonderful location.Friending,Beautifulplace.Rooms are confortable I recomendable this place.😀😘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Las palmas Beach hotel great place to enjoy stayed for vacation. Thank you
- philip walker (2/5): - We had no water for showers or toilets. For all 3 days. The staff would same 1 more hour and then everyone leaves for the night. I will NEVER GO BACK. STAY AWAY FROM THIS property.
- Bryan (6/5): - Room was dirty and not kept clean. Linens were dirty as well
- David (4/5): Poor property management - Cabana #4 right next to maintenance area. Noise and smell of paint. Light bulbs were not working. Bathroom door doesn't close.
- Lorraine (8/5): - Good
- Jose c (2/5): - I don't like the room that's not what I want
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great clean resort.
- Josee (2/5): RUN - we dont get the room that we reserved ; they said the complexe is full ; and it was NOT ; they received every day 400 to 700 people from cruise line ; so managing the room is not their priority ; i reseved a rustic cabin and we get a jail room ; ** the cabins was in front of my building/room and their was all empty... ;
- David (6/5): - The room had very little furniture. Suitcases had to be on floor, no place in bathroom to set items, just sink. Only 1 chair. Breakfast was free but only 1 cup of coffee due to issues with coffee maker. Air conditioning was very good. Could not recommend this place to stay .
- Michelle (6/5): - The room was very dirty. The shower floors, sink, toilet, taps needed to be cleaned. Lots of calcium buildup. The property itself was beautiful. The staff was great, the food delicious. We were very scornful when it came to the cleanness of the room.
We were only there for one nite on our first visit to Honduras. We would love to come back to stay at a resort for longer. But definitely not this one. Only because of the cleanliness.
- Patrick (2/5): - We were only there for one night we had no water for almost the entire stay. I had to get water from the pool to flush the toilet. No shower, no washing hands. Pretty much a complete disaster.
- Pilar (6/5): Pésima atención al cliente por parte de recepción - El hotel no proporciono toallas y tampoco hay atención al huésped después de las 8 de la noche
- Linda (2/5): - Hotel room had a tv that didnt work, commode stopped up first day, we were placed in a room that had no lighting and felt very unsafe and we had children with us. No staff was working other than when we arrived the first day. 2nd day staff was off...nobody was there NOBODY!!! I finally found person around 3 or 4 that worked there to tell them my commode was stopped up and we had no toilet paper.
No food was served because on Sunday that is everybodys day off so we had no lunch or no dinner served or cooked as promised on the first day.
3rd day we finally got somebody but it was one person and they offered to cook something for us and they had a private person cooking tamales and made some to bring us.... there was not one other person on that beach in front of the hotel .... no people at the hotel.... nobody was available to help us ...
On the 2nd night the power went off on the whole island. We were terrified and afraid to leave our rooms. it was in the middle of the night and it was off for hours.
I want a full refund. We did not get any of the amenities that was promised on the website...its an unsafe environment and no staff was even there to help us the entire 3 day we were there. Its not a good place or safe place. I complained to the one person that was there and they didn't want to help me at all.
- Gary (10/5): - Friendly staff. Good value.
- Lesme (10/5): - A safe, clean and quiet area with many options to enjoy a relaxed vacation. Very attentive and friendly staff.
- Virginia (8/5): - Simple, clean, comfortable stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful grounds.
- Javier (4/5): - The entrance isn’t properly lit, so I missed the entrance the first time. The room was somewhat clean, there was so much garbage around the room, broken laundry machines, broken wood floors, etc. The receptionist was never on the front desk. Would not stay here again.
- Ivonne (2/5): - Ok todo sucio horrible servicio pesimo playa malisima desayuno con cucatachas horrible
- Verified traveler (4/5): - A previous review said it's essentially a restaurant / bar with a few rooms to rent at the adjoining condo and that's precisely what it is.
I chose this location because it was within walking distance of the ferry to Utila and man I won't make that mistake again.
The restaurant pretty much just exists for the cruises that dock nearby and closes very early (around 5pm). I went next door to the Wikkid resort and ate at their restaurant (highly recommend)
The room was BAREBONES. You enter through the sliding glass rear door and what is the usual "front" door is locked shut with literal papertowels / similar items blocking the holes of where the handle goes.
Recommend? Only if you have zero other options and need a roof over your head.
- Juan (10/5): - Was quiet and nice place to the beach
- Merrill L (6/5): Give this place a miss - Very disappointed that for the price the room was sub standard. There was one bottle of water for two people, one electric plug for the whole room which had the tv plugged into one socket and the tv receiver into the other therefore I had to plug one phone and one ipad into the only other socket which was in the bathroom. The shower curtain had mildew on the bottom and the towel bar was barely hanging into the wall. The paint in the bathroom was very stained. The door to the adjoining room did not have a sweep on the bottom so all noises next door were loud in our room. The shower gave intermittent warm not hot water. They crammed two beds into one room so not much space available not even room for a suitcase stand or chair. I understand they are under construction and renewal but not worth the price we paid for sure
- Elva (8/5): - The property location is excellent. What I found challenging was the room. The internet was not working sometimes and the water went down and so we did not have water a few times and there was no hot water in the shower sometimes and the room had no refrigerator or microwave and there was no phone to call the front desk in the room.
- Charles (4/5): This is not a resort. . . - This is a bar and a bad restaurant that rents out condominium rooms on the side. As a result there is no service. There are nice swimming pools, but none of the amenities that you would expect at a resort. The rooms are in fair to poor condition.
- Emmanuel (8/5): - Its was last minute but it stood out from the rest
- Chris (2/5): - This property was horrible. The facility was under construction, the rental unit was dirty, had no hot water, the unit was in need of touch ups of paint, the closet doors were jammed. No mini fridge and the Resturant and bar closed at 4pm during the week. The only saving grace was the resort property next door Wikkid dive resort. Their staff and owners were more than welcoming and their facilities stayed open late. Las Palmas is not close to any other amenities for food or leisure. So u must rent a car.
Never stay their again. Poor management.
- Cristobal (8/5): - All was good.
- Michael (4/5): - Interesting place. Room was large and clean enough, but poorly appointed. No desk, no glasses, only ceiling lights and just one switch, only one elec. outlet. Facility is large with two nice swimming pools but restaurant open only for couple of hours for breakfast. I was told the place was full but I only saw 3 or 4 others over my three days there and was alone each day at breakfast. After initial check-in I never saw anyone in reception and left key with a worker when I departed. All room drapes were 12-14 inches too long and ends were tied in a loose knot to keep them off the floor. A curious place (and business model). I can't recommend it!
- Jennifer Torres (6/5): - very great customer service. Rooms are okay if you want to save some cash, air doesnt even cool room.
- Gustavo (2/5): - The worst thing I've experienced because they insist so much on service is the worst
- Julio (10/5): - Great place to stay in roatan
- Shane (6/5): Not what we expected, but service was great! - We booked a Quadruple room with 2 queen beds and actually were given a Lookout room with one queen bed. There is no hot water in these rooms. We did not see that on hotels.com only that they had a shower (and the handles fell off when turned). No safe in the room as was advertised. There are no vending or ice machines on site or a gift shop. It is not within walking distance of anything. You must take a taxi to go off site. Plenty of negatives. However, the property landscaping is well kept. Multiple beautiful pools. However, our service was outstanding. Sebastian was incredible and hooked us up with some off site activities. Ask for extra towels for the beach, extra water, no problem. If you are looking for a tourist spot with on site activities, this is not for you. Looking for a place to relax and enjoy some quiet beautiful scenery, then you are in luck. Just be warned that cruise ships use Las Palmas as an excursion. So check that schedule if you want to avoid crowds. All in all, a nice experience, but the ammenities are lacking. Friendly staff made up for that.
- Johanna (8/5): Very lovely - Overall the hotel was very nice and the people were friendly as well. Our Villa the pool was dirty but it was ok since they had the community pool very clean. You also receive a 40% off the restaurant next to the Villa. Can’t complain also this was the only Hotel that the price of the Stay was very decent compared to others.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not worth It! - Not worth it! The room spelled of mildew, the shower was dirty (moldy), there was no toile set, there was not hot water, staff was not there most of the time to help, they let the beach out to groups from cruises, so it is over around. The only nice thing was the pool.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed - Pool is very nice and rooms were new. Short handed on staff. No refrigerator, internet did not work, tv had no picture, restaurant was not good! Food was bland no flavor and only place to eat close by unless you got a taxi to go somewhere else.
- kevin (6/5): - The property is under renovations and our room was unfinished
- Dale (4/5): - When we got to the hotel they did inform us that they had no water. When we discovered we had no running water in our room we went to the office and they said they were working on it. By the next day we still had no water and when we went to the office to see what was going on no one was there We found a maintenance man and he informed us that they might either have some either today or the next day. We were quite upset so we left and had to go to another hotel
- Elvis (2/5): - Ppl utilizing the place have no respect for other guests. Noise all night with load music and singing. To make things worst there is one door that separates the rooms and all the pot that they where smoking filled my room as well. Terrible experience.
- jose (8/5): Beautiful views and great beach - Service is good but is not a hotel it does not have hot water good place to stay is good not great.
- Francys (6/5): - the room where I stayed at was nothing like the pictures they show online
- Robert (2/5): Avoid This Place - Our stay at Las Palmas Beach Hotel was the worst stays in a hotel that we’ve had in a while. It seems that the place is a resort of private villas that are rented out by residents. In any case, we checked in following a bad rain storm, and when we arrived, at dinner time, the restaurant had closed for the day, due to the storm. The resort looked deserted. We were told there was a restaurant outside the gate, walking distance from the hotel. We walked for about 15 minutes and found nothing open. We returned to our room to find that we had no hot water and dirty hand towels. We also had an A/C that we could not adjust. It had one setting and I think that was arctic blast. The office had already closed, so there was nobody to notify. The next morning we went for our included breakfast, before going diving. There was no sign of life at the restaurant when we arrived at the alleged opening time. We found only dirty tables with garbage and empty beer bottles on the bar and some of the tables. The office and restaurant were still closed when we were picked up for diving. When we returned, I told the woman at the front desk about our issues. She said she would speak to management. She said they had hot water issues, but they would check it. Nothing was ever handled for the three nights that we were there, except for the breakfast situation. But when we arrived at the restaurant, we had to look for the staff, since there was nobody visible, and the place still looked l
- Isabel (4/5): - Private beach surrounding needs cleaning. There was plenty of empty beer bottles around the dining area. Mold in villa we stayed at. Breakfast not served at requested time. Other than that everything was fine. The employees are very friendly.
- Alex Orlando (6/5): - The bed was good for the price it was clean. Lots of space if you traveling with a lot of family. The only down side was the shower head was all broken with rusty on it and the water flow was coming out only from a hole on the shower head. Cleaning lady’s very nice. Very quiet the rooms even thou it had a big party. The breakfast was nasty thou. And hot water finish so if you the last one to take shower it the water is cold. Pool was nice outside the hotel very pretty . The hotel is like a town house with 3 rooms in it that we stay it was nice. It would be nice if the upstairs pool was working .
- Albert (10/5): Roatan - Friendly service and great customer service enjoyed the night Yessy was very helpful. Crystal clear pool great food 1/2 off for hotel guest security guard on site.
- Laura (4/5): - We arrived on a Monday. The restaurant and bar were closed, and no decent restaurant or bar were within walking distance. The single receptionist was not terribly helpful. The beach area was okay, but our room was awful. Extremely bare bones. No coffee in room, wires hanging from ceiling awaiting light installation, a cheap, cot-like mattress, no drinking glasses, etc. Do not recommend.
- daisy (10/5): - Thanks for services
- lisa (6/5): Amenities and services lacked - It’s says they offer free pick up from the ferry terminal. We tried calling the hotel to schedule a pick up but they did not answer the phone or call us back after leaving several voicemails.
We took a taxi to the hotel and they told us they don’t offer that service.
We didn’t have hot water either
The breakfast is terrible but good for feeling the street dogs
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The views are the only positive thing. All three of our rooms had Tons of bugs in the beds, and. ants in the bathroom. No hot water, even though they promised us. The water for showers and the sink is salt water. It was awful. When we got there I had to get them to change our beds because they were filthy, hair and stains all over the sheets. The beds and pillows were awful, sleeping on the floor would have been softer. The food at the restaurant wasn’t good. Our seafood was water logged and over cooked. The live band was so loud we could hear them in our bedroom which made it hard to fall asleep. We all woke up to BEDBUGS!! Disgusting!!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice. Very nice. Very Nice. Very nice. Very nice.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Loved the kitchen/restaurant staff. Very hardworking and easy to communicate with!
Had an okay experience with the hotel staff.
As far as cleanliness of the hotel rooms.... VERY VERY disappointed. Mold smell in the rooms, visible black
Mold growing on the bedroom and bathroom walls. Sheets smelt horrible and wet right as we checked in. Hot water did not work. Clusters of Ants crawling around in the shower. Room was about 20 feet from the front desk and we lost WiFi connection the whole stay. Staff was willing to let us switch rooms to the other side of the hotel. Once again, very disappointed. Same room conditions. No WiFi access whatsoever, beds were very uncomfortable and still felt with mold in the room. Bottom line is this hotel looks beautiful on the outside, lots of activities to do around to enjoy your stay but the ROOMS NEED A MAJOR IMPROVEMENT. We travel to Roatan often.... sad to say we Won’t be staying here again
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The Beach was totally empty so that was nice...but not great for swimming because there is only a little sand and then weeds...the rooms need updating in a major way. Our room had this pump outside of it that ran all night. They need new beds. The place has massive potential but needs major work.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I liked the open air layout. The cabanas need to be renovated especially the bathrooms. Mattresses need to be updated to more comfy ones.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The hotel is in good location, close to the airport. But is NOT good care, only few staff working, not enough, only one cafeteria working few hour, I could have anything from there because always were close, and nobody attending.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This picture is incorrect, these Villa's are under construction & for sale. The actual Lobby is a small hut with a desk, open air. The hotel is 14 individual hunter's like cabins, in-wall air conditioners that couldn't keep up. The bar & restaurant is on the beach, open-air. The dinner was good. Breakfast was okay.
- Molly (4/5): - This property is so falsely advertised, at least on Expedia. The picture being showed is actually for the villas adjacent to las Palmas, and they aren't even open. When we were there in July 2019, the entire pool area (which is pictured at the adjacent, closed portion of the property) was drained and had big tarps over it. The restaurant is being completely made-over, which they should be advertising because that makes a huge difference when you're staying somewhere. Although, the man referred to as the 'boss' at the restaurant was super friendly and kind. The facilities appear so tidy in the photos, but they are poorly maintained. They are cleaned regularly, yes, but the actual facility needs work. The shower curtain and shower rod were covered in mildew. The mirror door hung open over the sink and wouldn't close. The soap dispensers weren't filled and there were no washcloths. The only trash can provided is about a 1.5 gallon sized one in the bathroom. The beds are not comfortable. The breakfast setup was rough, a buffet style is so much easier and more convenient. This place is horribly overpriced for the current state of it.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - My stay at this resort was the worse experience in my life electricity going out leaving me and my family in the hot dark room for many hours this happens a few times the room bed was wonbely and noisy this was so bad
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Air conditioning and breakfast were good
Staff friendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great beach
Friendly staff
Close to airport
Reasonable rates
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Quite rustic! Bugs got through floor boards. Board flat bed, hard pillows. Restaurant food was good, but legs got eaten up by no see ems!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - No hot water. Shower was not even warm. Saves water though. Air conditioning was super charged. Room was cold. Breakfast was also cold. Eggs and sausage were like warm. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property is good nice and quiet good for relaxing they have a descent kitchen had a lobster tail really good. Only bad thin I could think off the water is really salty you’ll need to have bottle water for washing your teeth good thing they have lots of water fountains outside the rooms.
- Lettie (8/5): - There was no hair dryer, no iron, and the bed was creaky. The front desk was fine but confusing as well. The personal was good and pleasant. The prices where kind of high in food and drinks.
- Matthew (10/5): - Its rustic to say the least. I like it and would stay again
- Verified traveler (6/5): Just ok - Very bare bones room, no WiFi in room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay at Las Palmas. Even with nearby construction, the beach and rooms were quiet and clean, and the staff was extremely helpful.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I think this place has great potential. They are clearly building some amazing looking condos with beautiful pools.
The beach isn't the most beautiful to swim in, but I think that is weather dependant.
The staff was friendly for check in and out. Otherwise they closed the bar at 8pm and nothing was going on.
We had to wear bracelets as guests but noticed there were no other people wearing them, and virtually no other guests.
The cabin was great that we stayed in, and was as pictured. However the safe buttons did not work properly and we had cockroaches in our bathroom at night. We didn't bring this up with the hotel as we only stayed 1night.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel staff friendly but not always useful. When given room, they gave no instructions on how to work AC, TV, etc. Just here's your key and there"s your room. Given needless arm band for use of beach or breakfast, but just showing room key should have been adequate. Breakfasts was amply, but very bland. Bed was hard as a rock, and slept poorly.
- John (4/5): - The restaurant, layout, and location are extraordinary but there is no staff, hot water, trash can and a number of small things that indicate the owners don't care. The only person that cared at all was the restaurant manager. Truly a shame though. The place had great bones just no flesh.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was not as I read online when we book are trip, are plane was delayed going and coming back. The internet service was bad, and the hotel details where not all describe as I read in Expedia, So the experience was not the best, but made the most of it
- Denys (2/5): Terrible - It was challenge with hot water , terrible breakfast, hotel smells like public toilet .definitely highly do not recommend.
- aldines (4/5): Isolated and neglected.
- This hotel has seen better days.
We spent 14 days here my husband, myself and my daughter.
Once a year we get together and travel somewhere new.
Sadly this was our worst experience.
We immediately tried to cancel as soon as we arrived.
The guy at the front desk said it was mot possible.
It was damp and moldy and our first room which we had for three days had no hot water and construction was going on infront of us while we sat on the porch.
They could not remedy the hot water so they moved us to a smaller room with a leaking sewage stench coming from our toilet drain and leaching in to the beach where we snorkelled.
Every morning the guy would come out with a loud pesticide sprayer moments before they served the breakfast.
We had to turn off the air conditioner so we would not get the spray inside the room.
Each morning we waiting an hour before going out in the property
No restaurants walking distance in the area except for One place that was ok but a bit pricey.
Nothing to do in hotel,it was mostly empty except when a cruise came in for a little.
Breakfast was lacklustre.
We brought our own milk honey and yogurts to sustain us for the two weeks.
We had to ask for yorgurt they never provided them.
Little to no fruit.
It was so bad for us we ended up going to west end and staying in another hotel for 4 nights while we were still paying to be there.
Two other guests from the hotel joined us after having the same bad experience.
we lost out big time!
- Verified traveler (4/5): NOT happy!! - Very ran down, I stayed at this hotel before and liked it very much. NOT THE SAME! And guests should be informed of construction work going on at sight.
- Ruth (10/5): Great stay close to airport. Free shuttle - Beautiful beach, nice rooms, good breakfast, excellent restaurant. Free shuttle makes it stress free.
- maria (10/5): - Staff very friendly and helpful, very nice place to stay but restaurant no good.
- Susan (10/5): Better than expected for the price! - Actually very quiet in the evening. Not set up for a good view, but very pleasant, with chairs out in front of each room. Also, just a few steps away from the superb beach.
The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Best of all, great water pressure in the shower!
