Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Loved the cottage setting & cleanliness but disappointed there was no blankets, only sheets on bed, no one sleeps with bedspread, and lovely stovetop & refrigerator but NO coffee pot, No dishes or utensils nor pots & pans?? Didnt make sense to us & hence we had to eat out all weekend. But the staff were very nice. Lastly, no late check out available, gave us 45 minutes extra when asking, never experienced that before
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean. Actually liked the room. Staff very friendly. There was an ironing board but no iron. I knew I had to ask for one. But I asked Saturday evening and apparently the only one available had been loaned out but not returned. I asked Sunday morning and was told it still had not been returned. But shortly afterwards, an iron was brought to the room. While the room had a two eye stove to, there was no cookware. But that was ok. I didn’t want to cook.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is a step into the past. Feels like a small apartment
with kitchen. Comfortable bed. Heat adequate on a cold,
rainy night. Wish they had a small coffee maker and com-
plementary coffee—enough for two cups. Quiet and the
grounds were well-kept. A comfortable, affordable place
to get a good night’s rest.
- Anthony (8/5): - It was perfect for what we went to do in Gainesville. Very good sleeping accommodations. No luxuries, nor amenities but excellent for game weekends.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Probably the wort motel I've ever stayed in. Isn't that enough?
- Verified traveler (2/5): - You should not advertise for this morel. They tried to scam me and I refused to stay.
- William (4/5): - Very sub par. Giant cockroach on floor. Very little amenities. Batteries didn’t work in remote. Couldn’t get a second receipt from office. A stove in room but no cookware (so what is the use?), no one came by to check if I needed anything. Bottom of door seal fell off after 2nd day. Place is susceptible to floods. No dogs are allowed in an already nasty place (why?)
- Sade (10/5): Great - Great
- John (4/5): - I liked that it had a large refrigerator, but it was about 50 years old and dirty. There a kitchen sink and stove. Had to brush teeth in kitchen because bathroom had no cold water. Only the hot water worked. The TV was much too loud with no way to change volume or to mute it. The remote didn't turn on or turn off TV. The side controls on TV didn't work either. They didn't clean the room or change towels, maybe due to very heavy rains. The wifi was fine, but had to call desk for password. I also paid an extra $20 for early check-in at 1:00 pm.
- WoW (2/5): - very dissatisfied; we weren't there 5 minutes, I told the owner that the room wasn't what we expected - he told me no refund and shut his glass window on me. I wouldn't want my worst enemy to have to stay in a place as filthy as this. no locks on the doors, smelled like someone sprayed a can of freshener in it, holes in the wall, the tv was not working properly, cannot believe they put this hotel on the travel sites as a place to stay. :o(
- karen (6/5): I was desperate- or else would never have stayed! - This was literally the only room available in town for the Garth brooks concert. I took it not having a high expectation. Check in was super easy. Room was extremely old and worn. Although it appeared clean, it had a terrible musty cigarette smell. Bed was hard but sheets were clean. We didn’t even shower as we just slept and left ASAP. Pros-I didn’t see any bugs, was a short drive to campus and restaurants. Cons- everything else. We paid way too much for what this room was worth, however it was a high demand weekend.
- Connie (6/5): - Convenience to the event (stadium)
Could not find restaurants close to the property except fast foods. We wanted a nice sit down service before going to the event.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was outdated and smelled. The other guests were loud and cursing. It just seemed shady.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room stank of cigarette smoke. The bed and furniture didn’t seem bad but the smell made us leave before we could use the room so we paid for a night we never used.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It was an absolute hell hole. I would even stay one night
- Michael (6/5): Not up to par - The room was big and somewhat comfortable but definately not worth what they charged.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was ok for the price, but was hole in curtain, no extra toilet paper in room, had to call for it, and it kind of had a smell...but bed was comfy.
- Walter (10/5): - Room was clean and large. No problems
- Mark (8/5): - Served its purpose. Not the best but not the worst.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bed was very hard. They advertise having a kitchen which they do but they don't supply any dishes or coffee pot, to even make a cup of coffee. Why bother saying they have a kitchen.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room rates are normally $60 a night but because of graduations it was increased to $100 a night. We rented 2 rooms for 2 nights. Our daughter, husband n grandaughter had one room. There was a couch bed in their room but we were told they could not use it!! So we asked for a pillow and blanket so she could sleep on the couch but was refused, they would not even give us that!! Had to beg for an extra roll of toilet paper. The bars of soap were so small that luckily we had brought extras. They would not even replenish the soap. Both rooms had a kitchenette but absolutely no dishes, silverware, coffee cups or anything. No coffee pot Iin Room and no coffee in office. For spending over $400 for the two nights you would think that we would of had the necessary amenities . A very disappointing stay and would never go. Ack or recommend to anyone!!
- Arline (2/5): - I was quoted one price and raised the the price when I checked in. Everything in the both rooms that I booked was broken or dirty. Why does Expedia still advertise this motel?
- Verified traveler (6/5): Very clean . - Clean crisp sheets on the very comfortable bed . Clean bath . Nice kitchenette but no pots or dishes or anything .
- Verified traveler (8/5): Not bad for the cost! - Finding a room on a college gameday weekend was much harder than expected. Only a few rooms were left so this is what we opted for.
Upon arrival, the owner (?) couldn't find our reservation but I did have a printout of it which seemed to help.
Surprisingly this was a nice roomy suite with kitchenette. It is a very old property but updated with carpeting and furniture. Bedding was ok, towels were quite new. The only thing missing were some kitchen utensils, plates and pans. We had brought leftovers from lunch which we planned to eat for dinner but couldn't! Issues with the tv, couldn't control the volume and once it was on, we couldn't turn it off.
- teresa (8/5): Affordable Hotel - This Motel is ok for short trips on a budget
I like that it was spacious and had a kitchen. The neighbors weren’t that great, though and a sink faucet broke the first night. However it was spacious and quiet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For a quick and easy stay on game weekend this is a great place. Not the best room, but seems clean way cheaper than an other hotel on game weekend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - At 125.00 a night would have been nice to enjoy the tv. Only got a few stations and they were either religious or political. There was hair in the bathroom and no plug to use the tub. Could only take a shower. Refrigerator was old and rusty. No microwave. Not sure what the point is of having a refrigerator if you have no microwave.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to the UF - Nice place and location...the facility needs more improvment....
- Steven (2/5): - The place needs alot of updates and repairs.
- Randy (6/5): Decent place to stop for the night - Suprisingly nice room to look so rough from the road. Everything in the room was clean, worked well, and was comfortable. The nice immigrant lady who checked me in and likely owns the property with her husband was friendly and accommodating. The only shortcomings for me was having no hair dryer or iron in the room, but I attribute that to being an economy motel. All in all, this property was MUCH better than expected.
- Carl (8/5): - The stay was enjoyable. The bed was great. The sofa was antiquated and falling apart. Otherwise it was nice and owner was very friendly
- Verified traveler (4/5): mediocre - this place was nice and well kept. it was the last place available on our way down to our spring break. we didn't sleep well. it got hot in the bedroom. the air conditioning is near the front door and the bedroom is at the back. there was poor air circulation. It was several miles off the interstate, but we felt safe. all in all we didn't have a bad experience. it was a place to lay our head for the night and it was clean, well kept and the owners were nice and quiet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Motel was no frills but it was extremely clean and a great deal for the price.
- David (2/5): Leaky sink and stained sheets. The furniture stunk - Disappointed_ Checked out early. The furniture was old and uncomfortable. Musty smell and not well lit. The so k leaked and the toilet was crooked and looked like it would fall apart.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Gainsboro FL..not so good - only o.k.
- patricia (8/5): - friendly staff
- Tom (8/5): Much better than I thought it would be
. - Clean, comfortable,, peasant quite motel with friendly staff
- Olufunke (6/5): It is convinient for my use. - Fairly comfortable. Very quiet. Love the plant/flowers in front.
Wish they have coffee/tea, cups, creamers. Wish they have continental breakfast. Wish the tub is not stained blue.
- Anthony (8/5): Nice hotel. Best for the money. - It was very nice. Well worth the price. Would stay again.
- Renee (6/5): Better than expected - Went to pick up my son from college. Was not sure about this hotel, most were already booked because of graduation. Was a very large room with kitchen. Pleasantly surprised.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Simple No frills - I had work at U of F. It is very small and very simple. Not luxurious at all but if you want an affordable room with no frills then you will like it. Bring a hair dryer and do not expect any toiletries or extras.
- thomas g (2/5): Never again. - Attendant was very courteous, but he had no record of our reservation. We requested a non smoking room, but received a smoking room, the only room available. Some college kids were making whoppee next door so, with the noise and the stench in the room, sleeping was impossible. Slept in the car. Passed on taking a shower. Rang the bell for service, but no one came to help.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good Price for the money - It was just 2 guys but if we had the wives with us this hotel would not have worked.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good for games - Nice room. Seems like they just updated it. Furniture was still older but ok. Will stay here again. Rooms were large.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Absolutely wonderful stay! Would stay again. - The buildings are older and could use some updates but nothing that would stop me from staying there. The room was very nice. Had a living room, bathroom, kitchenette, and bedroom all for a great price. The kitchenette has a stove top range which was nice. It didn't have a coffee pot but we'd already seen that and brought our own. Full sized fridge/freezer. The shower was amazing! Quite large and had great water pressure. The bed was ridiculously comfortable, honestly better than some beds I've slept in at peoples houses. I have terrible back problems and the bed was so nice I didn't want to get up in the morning. Just as good as the bed in my own house. The pillows were nice and fluffy. The living room had a nice flat screen LCD t.v. The couch was smallish but I was able to lounge on it and watch the t.v. comfortably. The staff was very nice. They have a few cats that stay on the property so be mindful when driving through not to run over them. The room was clean. Pretty much the only thing I didn't like was the smell of the hand soap bar that was in the bathroom and that is just my personal preference. It was an overall enjoyable stay and the next time I head down to Gainesville I will absolutely stay there again.
- Carissa (6/5): Gameday Stay - Room was clean, bathroom fan did not work but other than that, everything was good. Bed was comfortable and we were less than 10 mins from the University.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Last minute Gator game booking. - Booked for Gator game, last minute. This hotel is at the south end of 13th street but easy access to town, restaurants, university. Asked for non-smoking and was given the handicapped room (?) which was not designated non-smoking but not unbearable. Nice TV, clean fridge, stove and microwave. Staff quite pleasant. Seems to be not on computer as everything was written by hand. There ARE roaches - not Palmetto bugs - roaches that crawled on the wall and furniture from the baseboards at night. Bring a hair dryer.
- Maddie (2/5): - The hotel rooms were a nice size and the hotel was about ten minutes from UF campus. I went for a football game and wanted something close to campus. We had 2 more people join in during our stay and they made us pay an additional 10 dollars for each person even though there was plenty of room. Our pullout couch did not work, and our beds smelled like mildew. The man running the front was rude when we went in early to check so we could drive back to Tennessee. I would not recommend this hotel after my stay there.
- Richard (2/5): Terrible Motel - Rooms are in very ad conditions. The bathroom was awfull. The surface of shower and toilet Seat were worn out. Stink everywhere. Wifi was very Bad. The TV didn't work.
The should tear down the buildings. No hope for improvement.
- Jay (6/5): good for a few dudes going to a football game - stay here if you want something cheap, pretty close to campus, and do not scare easily. yes, there will be some shirtless dudes smoking in the parking lot at all times. you might see a few people talking to themselves. but, never did i feel unsafe. think of it as an adventure. never saw a bug in the room, we had clean sheets, the tv worked, the full size fridge was very convenient, it was quiet, the shower got hot and was relatively clean. perfect place for a couple buddies to crash on the cheap for a football weekend.
