- John (6/5): Pool could use some attention - No quality issues with room. Main floor marina view looked better than most, but still pretty underwhelming. If you pay extra for marina view, get 2nd or higher floor. The pool looked a little suspect, as water clarity was not the best. We were unable to charge bar tab to room which was a bit odd. Towels must be signed out and returned with accompanying paperwork.
- Margaret (10/5): Lovely spot, with a good location and a great restaurant. We will definitely stay there again next time we’re in Huatul - The staff were absolutely wonderful. Alfonso and Jonathan in the restaurant, and Mari who tried to teach me some Spanish, and Rosario with the coffee— and the hotel was spotless throughout. The breakfast buffet was extensive, with wonderful fresh fruit and an omelette bar. The plants were beautifully cared for, and the pool area was small but very clean. Rooms were also very clean — and our towels were often folded into wonderful and fun animal shapes, and decorated with flowers. And the view of the Marina was fascinating. This was a lovely place to stay. I think the rooms on the street side might be a bit noisy.

- Barb (9/5): I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn. - Excellent location close to beaches, marina and restaurants in Santa Cruz. The service and staff was exceptional . The rooms were a good size with very comfortable beds and excellent air conditioning. The a la carte menu for dinner though not extensive was of exceptional quality. The pool was quite small for a hotel of this size and shockingly not well maintained.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed our 18 day stay at this hotel. Met many nice people at the pool area and really enjoyed our stay, We had a room with a fridge, marina view. Just wish they had a bigger pool or more pool chairs. I’d definitely come back!

- John (1/5): Never go to Holiday Inn. Don't do it. - The location seemed nice. That has nothing to do with Holiday Inn, they are like a scab on a beautiful face. We arrived to check in with our two small dogs (as advertised) and weree clearly unwelcome. We were met with rudeness and disdain. Extra unadvertised fees. Second class treatment. When we said we would go somewhere else they were clearly pleased. So were we, let me tell you. A typical corporate slop shop, no customer service or consideration.

- Jennifer (10/5): Lovely hotel, good place to stay for a week or your first time there. - The property was well situated. Very close to the beach, restaurants, tour meetups and a local market. The rooms were large enough with enough spaces for all your things including a safe. There was even a balcony on the room overlooking the pool and the marina. The staff were excellent and worked hard at the English/spanish language. I especially liked that there were a lot of green option like skipping cleaning day, not getting your sheets changed daily and places for recycling. The air conditioning was fabulous!! I don’t have much bad to say about the property. The one thing I would suggest is the letters that come in the door when you opt out of housekeeping only need to happen once in your stay, not every single time. It is a waste of paper and effort on the cleaning staff, I chose to hang the sign on my door, therefore I am very aware you will not be entering my room to clean, I don’t need to be reminded every time I hang it on the door. Secondly (and this is no fault of the property) it is very loud in the area, there are party busses going by until 11 pm. Sometimes there are very loud gatherings in the court yard and of course lots of children in the pool in the wee to very late hours, nothing to be done for that.

Hotel location great, there is a walkway close by that will take you to Huatulco Centro Wonderful to get a refreshment while waiting for our hotel check in - nice touch. Spacious, clean comfortable room.

- Ijtaylor99 (10/5): Comfortable Hotel - We stayed at the Holiday Inn for two weeks in November 2025. We had a large room with two very comfortable queen size beds, overlooking the marina. The air conditioning was excellent, as was the wi-fi. There was a large walk-in shower, but no bathtub. There was a small balcony, with two chairs overlooking the marina. Great place to have coffee in the morning, from the in-room coffee machine, watching the sunrise. In the afternoon, watch all the tour boats return to the marina. We opted to include the breakfast option. There was a large variety of fresh fruit with a variety of hot dishes. There was a grill to order omelets, pancakes etc. We ate at the hotel restaurant a few times – the food was OK. There is a Starbucks coffee bar in the lobby The beach was a 5-minute walk away and the hotel provides towels. There is a small pool in the hotel. There are a number of restaurants along the beach. The beach is sandy and it’s easy to get into the water. There are also a number of restaurants and coffee shops in the area, some of which are cash only. The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly. While there are vendors on the beach, they are not aggressive. Across from the hotel is a paved tourist corridor that takes you in the town. It is a 45-50 peso taxi ride from the town plaza. The majority of tourists are Spanish speaking – only a limited number of English-speaking visitors. It was helpful to speak a little Spanish when talking to the staff or the vendors in the marketplace. It cost 630 pesos to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel, but only 250 pesos to take a taxi back to the airport

- Chef2TM (10/5): The Class 3 Hotel That Acts Like a Class 4 - The Holiday Inn Huatulco is a hotel that "hits above it's weight class". It's a level 3 hotel that acts like a level 4. My wife and I spent an extended 30 day vacation there and were constantly impressed with the high level of service provided every day. That excellent customer service started two weeks BEFORE we arrived with WhatsApp messages from Angie who was "excited to meet us", making us feel welcomed and special. This was the difference between choosing Holiday Inn versus other hotels in Huatulco. We booked because of Angie's messaging kindness. My Platinum Elite status was recognized and we were upgraded to one of the nicest rooms in the hotel overlooking the Santa Cruz marina. We enjoyed starting each day with coffee while the boats headed out, and ended each day watching them return. The outdoor patio was the best part of the room. We were also given a refrigerator that was extremely helpful. Tania, the front desk manager was very kind and helpful, greeting us with a "buenos dias" each time we passed. She also accommodated us with special privileges, allowing us to use the conference room for secure internet for Zoom calls home. We arrived just 24 hours before Hurricane Erick moved past, but we were assured that the hotel has a backup generator and we'd never lose power. The entire staff quickly cleaned up after the storm. Speaking of clean, this place is SPOTLESS. We were so impressed with the level of cleanliness in the beach town hotel. Staff members were constantly sweeping, mopping, cleaning windows, and keeping the place beautifully clean. Since we were there for a month, we got to know many of the staff members personally and we felt like we were part of their family. At the front desk, Javier, Esmeralda, Thalia, and Daniela each provided outstanding service, making sure we were comfortable each day. Bellman Neptali greeted us each day as we headed out to breakfast, helped us with luggage and grocery bags, and gave us access to the conference room when we needed secure internet. The housekeeping staff was also outstanding. We got folded towel animals each day like you get on a cruise ship which made us smile when we returned to the room. The restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet is excellent and the Executive Chef is always present directing his staff. This is an excellent location in Santa Cruz, right on the marina, near the beach, and an easy 1 mile walk on the Pedestrian Walkway to La Crucecita, which we took advantage of often for breakfast and dinner in the nearby town. There are a few good restaurants within a few blocks walk also. My only complaint is with the insecure internet. The in-room internet does not work if you activate a VPN. This leaves me vulnerable to hackers. There IS another network that allows VPN, but you have to be in the lobby to use it. The in-room internet should be altered to allow VPN access. The gym could use an update. Two stationary bikes are broken and the weight machine has frayed cables. This is a surprisingly great hotel because of its high level of service excellence from the staff, the location, the cleanliness, and the overall comfortable "vibe" in the place. Thank you to the entire staff for a memorable month in Huatulco!

- Kristen (8/5): Clean, Well-Located, Great Staff - This hotel is pretty standard for a Holiday Inn. Very clean, good beds, a choice of pillows. The electric socket next to the bed didn't work, and when I told the front desk, they immediately sent up a maintenance man to fix it—Fidel was very friendly and professional, and replaced the socket in minutes. I also needed to print a document, and the front desk did it for me for free, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, great service in a clean and comfortable environment. The WiFi signal wasn't strong in my room. Additionally, you can't use a VPN with it, which I wasn't happy about since public WiFi networks are generally not considered safe.
