Guest Reviews
- Lance (10/5): - It was a very nice place
- Cortney (10/5): Marvelous - It was a really beautiful view and a really clean room. Nice pool and hot tub. I really love the basketball court too.
- Franklin (10/5): - Really cool bost 420 friendly and the whole apartment was stocked 100% will rebook parking can fit trucks
- Josh (2/5): Avoid at all costs. - Hotel rating is extremely misleading (definitely not four stars). The air conditioner was broken so our room was 80 degrees and the property manager did nothing to fix the issue. The bathroom door was not aligned with the lock so it couldn't be properly shut.
The bedrooms had lamps next to the beds but literally no plugs for the lamps to be plugged into.
The room smelled like marijuana for the entire trip (maybe this is a plus to some people, not me) and there was no way to air it out.
Vast majority of the lights in our bedrooms do not work.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Its Location and the condominium facilities were perfect for DTLA! but the apartment missed our expectations: almost half of the light bulbs were not working; didn't have coffee-maker (its jar was missing); one of the chairs of the dining table was broken; couldn't find a blanket for the sofa-bed. The apartment needs some improvements.
- Ricardo (4/5): Stay in a hotel next time - Only one light worked in the master. Beds were hard. 3 towels for 6 people. Blood on one of the fold out beds. 2 ironing boards both broken. Blinds broken always letting light in. Best thing was location and parking but not worth the cost! And still haven’t got my deposit back
- Michael (6/5): - Showers moldy, furniture totally worn out, has a television...but no cable to watch ABC,CBS,NBC, etc!!!
Beds were comfortable and place was clean.
- Kristine (2/5): Flower Street - The room was dirty, the furniture was broken. I had to ask for everything that should have already been in the room; towels, sheets and blanket for pullout couch, kitchen supplies, spoons. Lightbulbs were burnt out and not enough lighting. There was dog poop outside of elevator. Not happy at all with Met Lofts.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was close to where I needed to be for my travel purpose.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Overpriced MetLofts, roomy but puny - Bathrooms had hair & mildew, used half a bottle of Chlorox shower spray. Hot water in the shower was barely luke warm, Master toilet flushed only once out of every 4 attempts. Water pressure in the showers was puny. Not even a soap dish in the shower.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Had to wait 1hr 30 minutes to get access to our suite.
Some of the lights in suite were burnt out. Shower ensuite needs upgrading.
Furniture (couches) were worn out. Blinds in living room did not work properly.
- Talat (2/5): Rude staff and dirty place - I was admitted to a different place far from the
Convention center where I was attending I lost the first day trying to communicate with PelicanStay then when they finally answered
They were rude and offered me 50$ for my inconvenience which was an insult to my intelligence.
- Richard (8/5): - The check-in process needs some refinement. Despite confirming an estimated arrival time, had to wait 45 minutes for a rep to greet and provide access.
Great location. Parking included.
- jenny (8/5): corporate - the unit was really nice
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice apartment close to Microsoft theatre - Check in went well despite other reviews saying theirs hadn't. The hallway leading to the room had a horrible odor from the trash room. The room itself was clean. The beds were comfortable. Our biggest complaint was the kitchen was not fully stocked with dishes as was stated. We made due with what was there except for needing to go buy bigger cups. Overall, it was good and very ideal for our conference at Microsoft theatre.
- Walter (10/5): - El servicio es excelente, la ubicación es ideal, el apartamento es muy limpio y las instalaciones son muy buenas. 100% recomendado
- Verified traveler (6/5): 2 bed/2bath suite in downtown LA. - It's a sublet condo; the experience was much more like airb&b than a hotel. Email response was slow. There is no check-in counter or full-time staff. I was met by the cleaner, who wasn't done with the suite at check-in time. I had to leave my bags and get off to a meeting, and when I returned I found the room open. All was ok (it's a secure building), but it turns out the only key the cleaner had was the one I took away with me, so she could not lock up.
There was no soap in the suite.
There were no dressers, although the closets were spacious. For a one-week stay a dresser is imperative.
- Johnny (10/5): - Will recommend this place to people that I know and will be heading to LA.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Not the property location that was listed on site. - When the reservation was made with Expedia in November 2016, the location of the facility was one of my top priorities, as it was convenient to the LA Convention Center, 1050 S Flower St. Two weeks prior to my travel they charged my credit card with the final payment and sent me the address of 1111 Wilshire as the property location. I phoned the property management and they told me that the original location was not available. Instead of being 3 blocks from the convention center, I now had over 12 blocks. The property itself was very comfortable and appropriate. The carpets could use a good shampooing and the cabinet front under the sink was missing. The property was well equipped, so cooking could be performed without eating out all the time.
- Jochen (4/5): Terrible service - The apartment was good, however the service was atrocious. On Friday morning when I was about to get onto the flight to LA, I received an email that the apartment we booked was unavailable supposedly due to a "leak" and we were rebooked to an apartment 10 min away. As we were coming from overseas and booked the apartment for its proximity to the conference centre, 10min by car away is worrying as we did not have a car available. My colleague who arrived first at the apartment had to wait for several hours until someone came to deliver the keys (we were only given one set of keys because "there is only one door". It was admitted to us that our original apartment was not available not because of a leak but because of the management had agreed that the tenants before us could stay longer. We were offered to move into our originally booked apartment two days later. We did take up the offer, and the apartment management agreed to move our luggage across as we were occupied at the conference.
When we called two days later to arrange to get the moving across and the new keys it took 48 (!!) phone calls to finally have the agreement honored and luggage be moved across by management. The new apartment seem to have been cleaned in a rush, there was only half a roll of toilet. As "apology" we were offered to stay an extra day at base rate plus tax, which was neither useful for us (we were returning to Europe) no do I consider the offer to pay for another day an apology.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Horrible booking process - Horrible. I submitted additional paperwork the hotel requested. I got confirmation email from hotels.com. Yet my reservation was cancelled for fraud report from the credit card. Really?? If they have contacted me for additional credit card, I would have. How dare them to cancel my 5 nights stay for 6 of us..?? Really? Very disappointing. So, don't book this hotel online. This hotel will just cancel your reservation and you'll end up booking more expensive hotel in last minutes.
- Maria R. (4/5): TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE at Corporate Suites. I arrived after a very long flight returning from Asia, only to find there was nobody at the building to let me into my room. I had to wait THREE HOURS to be finally let in, calling everyone I could in the meantime. I was so tired I only wanted to leave and go elsewhere, but I had prepaid four nights with a non-cancellation policy and did not wish to lose over a thousand dollars. The management company is not even in the same city, so there was no-one readily available to help. They tried to blame me for not responding to an email that they had previously sent, but the email arrived from "Pelican Suites", a name I did not recognize, so even if I had seen it, I would have thought it was junk mail.
Once inside, the apartment was spacious and clean. However, there were other problems. There is parking available, but I was not given a device to open the gate, so I had to rely someone at the building to open it EVERY TIME. This was especially annoying one night I arrived past midnight and I had to ring many times waiting to be let in, and one day I needed to leave the building at 5:30am for a meeting and there was NOBODY there to open. I ended up tailgating after another car, praying that the gate wouldn't close on the car.
There were bottles of detergent and dishwashing liquid, both close to empty. Windows had old miniblinds that did/t close properly and let all the sunlight in.
I would NOT stay here again, nor do I recommend it.
- Karra (8/5): - The view was great, and the kitchen and furniture were modern and updated.
Parking was terrible. We should have had two parking stalls, but a broken down car was in one of them. Management said they would move it, but at the end of our stay, the car was still there.
The apartment complex parking and elevator system can be confusing. There could have been more instructions on how all of that worked.
I had pre-arrangements to meet a staff member at the apartment upon arrival. We sat in the parking garage for over an hour waiting for a staff member having no idea how the reservation process worked. This was a business trip, and we had plans which had to be cancelled. I felt that wasn't very professional or courteous.
The parking lot attendants, and staff at the complex were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the overall look, convenience, and location.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Most disgusting place we ever stayed at. A kennel. - The place needs a major cleaning. Not just maid service. Dog urine stains everywhere, feces on the bathroom door, urine around the toilet from last guest or maybe 10 guest's ago the way this place was. Bathroom door falling off the hinges, years of mold in the bathroom, shower had not even been cleaned from previous guest's, the pillows looked like they were 10 years old with with years of disgusting sweat stains if you look beyond the pillow case, the pillows stunk to the point we used our own clothes for pillows. We were scheduled to stay for 3 days and left after 1 night. When talking with the management about the situation and refunding for leaving early they had the nerve to charge us a $105.00 cleaning charge? I said is this some kind of joke or what? they were serious and charged us $105.00 cleaning charge. If we stayed for the 3 days and the place was not a kennel I would not have a problem with that but given our experience you think they would not have charged us that. Since they are doing a disgraceful job cleaning. So the management is the same level as the cleanliness of the place. TERRIBLE! could not load the photos as Expedia only allows 5MB or less for photos size.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The apartment was stifling with floral cleaning products. Opening windows did not help.
There was lipstick on the duvet.
As I waited at the front of the building for the representative to show me the room, residents exiting asked me why I was waiting outside. When I mentioned I had booked a room there they became angry and told me there were supposed to be no hotel/air B and B type rentals in the building. This made me very uncomfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Awesome location, you have you're own privacy and easy access to stores.
- Sandra (8/5): great proximity to L.A Live and Convention Center - Overall good location and nice, clean room. Not enough towels and washcloths or paper products (toilet paper) Thank goodness we brought some extra. Suggest if you are booking more than one room in a group to ask them to be on the same floor if possible since the elevator does not go to any floor but your own room (which is good for security).
- Stephen (8/5): Close to LACC, nice pool - Very good
- Verified traveler (2/5): - They gave my room away after booking it worst hotel experience I have ever had to date
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great apt in great location. - This was a beautiful apartment. Great location. The only difficulty we had was in checking in. When they say check-in is 3 PM, you must be there at 3 PM. This is not really a hotel as much as a short sublease. All in all, we still had a great time despite the surprise.
- Dean (6/5): Very nice except. - Could have been very nice except.
No working TV, had to go to the local bar to see the ball game,
No working lights in the kitchen, ate in the dark.
No Kitchen Towels, not even paper.
No bath mats.
No soap dish in the shower.
- Verified traveler (8/5): GREAT VIEW, SAFE, and MODERN DECOR - Renting the room is a bit of a process (they require CC and Photo ID to be faxed over to them). Private secure parking is a plus. We had to buzz security to get into parking lot (for some reason key didnt work- no biggie). Had an amazing view of the Staple Center. There were a few minor condition issues (carpet ripped by closet, busted window blinds, etc) but in the grand scheme of things those little condition issues were insignificant and didn't take away from the modern feel of the room and amazing location. Make sure you take your own lotion, shampoo, etc (not provided). I WILL DEF. BOOK THIS AGAIN IF I'M IN THE AREA.
- Richard (8/5): spacious apartment - this was like having my nice own spacious two bedroom apartment. The space was very welcoming. Nice big windows. Only problem was that the street was a bit noisy.
- Jaime (4/5): Corporate Apartment has Terrible Management Compan - Where to start. When I arrived I had notified the management company my flight would be in late I wouldn't arrive until 11pm. When I got there the parking garage was closed and locked and the person at the front desk didn't know who I was. After much negotiation I was finally allowed in. I went up to the apartment and found that my bedroom didn't have a closet or any drawers (master bedroom). In addition that same evening the management came to the door late in the night to collect "cash payment" even though I had already paid via credit card. The next morning I went to get an Iron and located an iron board, but no iron. I called 3 times over the next 3 days to get an iron and never got one. I decided to use the washer/dryer as well and the washer actually smoked and the dryer didn't work at all. I tried to use the toaster and again that was broke as well. I tried to convey all this to the management company and never heard back. The apartment itself was nice and laid out well, but with such a horrible management company I would never recommend staying there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): The Apex - Our 1 bedroom suite was very comfortable. Great views, good food in the area & the location was perfect. The room was clean & the front desk employees were very helpful and friendly. We had a overall great experience!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Everything you need - Stocked with everything you could need for a trip (pots, pans, cups, refrigerator, oven, etc)
could not figure out how to work the washing machine
Perfect for walking to staples, LA LIVE, didn't have to pay for parking the entire time.
in the heart of LA
No key available at check in so we had to be brought up everytime we left the room.
View to die for
Please put pillowcases in the closet or pillowcases on the extra pillows
- Verified traveler (2/5): Name change of Corporate Suite - The name was changed to Met loft. The staff was not to knowledgeable about room functions.
How to use wi-fi, or how to use tv. No face or hand towels for three(3) days. Did not tell me I had two(2) parking spaces. My guests had to pay 15.00 dollars for parking. I am very sorry, but I will never make reservations there again!
- Charles (4/5): apartments - not a hotel - not worth the effort - this is actually not a hotel - it's a condo tower with full time residents. There are several rooms owned by third parties who rent them out when not in use. Getting setup is difficult and involves a great deal of paper work. Even after the paper work they sent me to the wrong building . When I got to the right building I had not been cleared by security so I could not get into the room. The. No one at the third party answered the phone - honestly not worth the time or effort.
- Jennifer (2/5): Id rather stay at motel 6 - THIS WAS THE WORST ACCOMMODATIONS I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. First of all, cell service is non-existent, so speaking to anyone was not an option. Check in was supposed to be at 3. I arrived at 4:15 and when I walked in, there was a purse on the conster-top, bags everywhere and everything was filthy. When I did get ahold of the management, they told me it was the housekeepers belongings and she was somewhere else (WHAT?). I had to get ready for a conference, so I went to jump in the shower but the power wasnt working. When the housekeeper showed back up, I asked how to turn on the lights. She said they arent working but the maintenance man is on his way. Long story short, the entire three days I was there I had no electricity. I contacted Hotels.com, the management and the downstairs front desk person and no one ever offered a solution. I just got strung along. They also gave me the wrong parking information, so after a 12 hour shift at work I returned and someone was in my spot and I had no cell service to call anyone. I have emailed the manager, text them and called and I have gotten no reply nor compensation for having NO ELECTRICITY. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE.
- Jamie (2/5): HORRIBLE customer service, SKETCHY company - After booking through this site, I got some sketchy emails from a company that I didn't recognize, saying that they needed me to email them copies of my ID and credit card in order to finalize the reservation. This was highly suspcious to me, as I would never just email this information to an unfamiliar person. I called the number and spoke to someone who said not to worry about it, just to have the info with me make at check-in. I got to the building, and found that there isn't anyone from the company that actually works there. The front desk folks who had no idea who I was or what to do with me. I called the company and was told that they had made an error in the reservation, and that actually I should go to another bldg 3 blocks away. I was assured that when I got there they'd be expecting me. So I walked to the next building, only to find that the front desk folks again had NO idea who I was. I called the company yet again, and spoke to yet a different person. After a long talk, the company spoke with the front desk and told them to let me into the apartment. However, we then discovered that the company hadn't left any keys. It was over an hour before someone from the company came from across town and delivered the keys. I called later to ask to speak to a manager, and was assured that someone would call me back the following day, but never heard back. The next two times that I called, I waited on hold for over 20 min and nobody ever answered. I am disgusted.
- David (4/5): This is no way to treat a customer - period. - The room I contracted for was unavailable. The company called to inform me that they would have to move me to another room. After asking for a discount on the room because I was not getting what I had contracted for (I agreed to a blow-up mattress on the floor as a substitute second bed) I was assured that this room would be available. A few hours later, I received an email telling me that no room was available and to contact Expedia for re-accomotion. Yes, they completely punted on their responsibility to make good on our contract (literally, I had to sign a contract and pay entirely in full AND was charged a $500 security deposit). They have charged me for the entire stay and I have yet to hear back from my two emails asking for a refund of amounts prepaid.
