• Lim (9/5): - The view, the lounge, the car service. There was a staff that was rude to my wife at the basement restaurant. We found an open safety pin on the floor. I have three kids and my son found it on the floor. It was dangerous.

Pillow is too soft for me but great for kids Hotel itself does not have activity in winter . No laundromat. No onsen. No buffet for breakfast. Breakfast menu might not be for kids.

• Winston Yu Ming (10/5): - We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very aesthetically pleasing. The room had a generous view of the mountain, landscape, and japanese garden. The compound itself is well serviced by a regular shuttle bus and the drivers and staff were always super helpful and professional. Onsen was super nice and you get to enjoy access to many nice onsen by staying here. One thing I really liked was the access to the lobby lounge which provided free flow soft drinks, local apple juice, coffee, beer, wine, and even snacks! Overall, you won't go wrong staying here. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Karuizawa.

• MIYAKO (9/5): 軽井沢に泊まるならまた泊まりたい - お部屋は清潔でゴルフコースが見え、夜は木がライトアップされて綺麗な景色が見ることができ良かったと思います。スタッフの皆さんも親切かつ丁寧にいろいろ教えてくださったりと気持ちの良い滞在ができました。 お部屋は新しく感じたが、水回りは清潔なのですが少し古さは感じた。

• Mizuhara (8/5): いい景色！ - 部屋の窓から池が見えるのが良かったし霧の影響でいい雰囲気になりました。レストランも同じく全面窓ガラスだったので良かったです。あと、利用出来なかったですが...隣のウェストホテルの温泉が利用可能なのが良かったです。また、軽井沢のバスは遅くまでは運行しないため9時以降でもホテルに連絡すれば、駅の南口からホテルまで迎えに来てよかったです。 お風呂とおトイレの床が大理石だったので水が少しあっても滑りやすいので注意が必要です。対策としてのその分大きいタオルがあり敷いてから使いましたが今回の宿泊に幼い子供がいたので少し心配になりました。

Have stayed here multiple times now and we look forward to rest and relaxation with the onsens and time spent in the forests of Karuizawa. Nothing, but I do miss the Aragan body lotion you used to have in the rooms :-)

And we were being assigned to the ground floor rooms with outdoor entrance which was no good especially during summer. We therefore requested to move to the 2nd floor. The staff were very helpful. The hotel is too old and have to be renovated.

We enjoyed the spa which was of a high standard, also the library area with complimentary refreshments and using the complimentary bicycles. The staff were extremely helpful. The decor in our room was a little worn but everything worked perfectly.

Love the walk in the surrounding area. Great for a short bike ride. The overall hotel and rooms may need upgrading. The welcoming drink idea is great but the area serving it is quite packed with customers.

• Kylie (10/5): A quiet and peaceful haven at Karuizawa - The view from our room overlooking the pond was beautiful. It snowed the second day we were there and it was magical watching it snow and hang in the trees. The hotel was very quiet and peaceful. Our room was warm, spacious and comfortable. The staff were lovely, always helpful. The drinks available in the lounge after 5pm were great. The food was traditional and high class service. The rooms are a little dated but they are very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is quite expensive but a traditional Japanese style with top class waiters etc. A less expensive buffet option may be better for some travellers.

• Chung Tak (10/5): Wonderful and Tranquil Stay - Wonderful hotel and resort. The hotel architecture is wonderful. The hotel room view capture a beautiful snowy landscape with a lake. The view gave me a sense of tranquility with a cozy ambience. The hotspring was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. One staff even drove me from hotel to the hotspring site. I really appreciated the helpfulness. The Japanese breakfast was tasty and remarkable. The transportation to the outlet and train station is convenient
• Cheuk (9/5): Superb - There is shuttle bus from station to all the hotels and ski resort/ hotspring /shopping centre so transportation is not a problem. The view at the room is fantastic. Need reservation for breakfast where you can enjoy a delicious meal with great view.

They said they would let me pay online . Didn’t . They made me do bookings for skiing and spa in some obscure webpages in Japanese . Took ages to respond to e mails . My guests were not happy. The lessons are in one reception but the rentals in another and no one answers or gives directions, they don’t speak English . Should say they are a hotel just for locals maybe

• Gin (10/5): Very relaxing stay to enjoy Karuizawa - Grand Prince is the quietest among all the Prince Hotels in Karuizawa. I enjoyed the quietness and relaxing atmosphere. The daily lounge facilities available to all guests from 10am to 8pm was great! The french dinner ( paid) was exquisite and reasonably priced. None
• Deborah (8/5): Nice hotel with friendly staff but not convenient especially families with young children. - The property itself is beautiful with fireplace. The free drinks and snacks at the library lounge is nice. The provide free transport to n from the ski centre. it’s the furthest Prince chain hotel away from the station. You have to wait for the shuttle bus or call a cab. No drinks provided in the room as you have to have them in the library lounge. Minimal restaurant selection. No convenience store like the Prince West, no laundromat, no hot spring.
• Shun (8/5): A value for money hotel complex with great outlet mall - Free access to hot spring though need to take the shuttle. The hotel complex is big with a very good outlet. If you wish to stay close to F&B and hot spring, better stay at the West.

• Alison (10/5): Exceptional - We had a bit of trouble with the occupants of the room above us (they woke very early and woke us, as well) and when I talked to the staff about it, they were so exceptionally helpful. They promptly changed our rooms, and after that, our stay was phenomenal. It's a wonderful property.

View is nice facing the greenery and lake. No onsen in this hotel. have to travel to West wing or another wing can't remember the name. Room is dated. Need renovation.

• Yong (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing views from our room. Convenient shuttle service to the train station with complimentary concierge service for our suitcases and onsen access. Overall, a great experience! Limited facilities, but otherwise an amazing hotel with stunning views.

• Hung-ming (8/5): High-end resort for a relaxing vacation - Close to JR station, free shuttle in the facilities. Great service, friendly staff, and high-quality room and restaurants. Having hot springs (charge a small fee) is a plus. I especially liked the guest center next to the JR station that accepts your luggages and sends them to your room for you. All restaurants in the facilities require a reservation well in advance, and they are all high-end restaurants. There is nothing wrong with high-end restaurants requiring reservations, but I'd hope there are other more affordable options within a reasonable distance. The fact that the facilities are huge makes it difficult to go all the way out and shop outside. That there are no other dining options really came as a surprise to me and I had to book a table in the last minute. I didn't realize I had to book restaurants in advance and the fact that I had no restaurant reservations along with my stay (called a combo plan) also seemed a surprise to the staff during my check-in. It would have been nice to raise that information more explicitly upfront during hotel booking.
