• Mitchell (9/5): Best value in Chinatown in my opinion - Rooms are very clean, nice looking, and comfortable. The mattress and linens are high quality. The common area is beautiful and has lots of plants. Kitchen area is always clean has lots of stuff for guest use. Staff are kind and welcoming. Everything works well and is in good condition. There's a small breakfast every morning with snacks and free coffee. No real complaints. Sometimes its a bit noisy most of the night because its above a bar in a lively area. Also I received a twin room when i requested a single bed room both times but it wasn't a big deal.

• Nazki Soma (7/5): - スタッフがすごーーーーくいい方々。ロケーションが便利。チャイナタウンに近いのに静か。エアコンもちゃんと効いてます。バスタオルも無料でした。 共用のパティオがとてもいい雰囲気です。 私は利用しませんでしたが、朝だけパンやちょっとした飲み物が置いてありました。 観光から帰って寝るだけの一人旅には手頃だと思います。 熱帯地域のホステルだから仕方ないと思いますが、部屋に小さい蟻や虫が時々出るので、部屋にいる時あまりリラックスできませんでした。虫除けスプレー買いました。 ボディソープはありますが、シャンプーはありません。

The room is a bit small but comfy. Location is great, right next to Petalin Street and some nice restaurants around It was a bit noisy because the room is next to the stairs so you can hear people if they talk coming upstairs

• Reece (9/5): Brilliant staff - Really well located in central Chinatown. The staff were incredibly friendly - the receptionist always had a smile on her face and greeted us on our way in & out, which was nice. Never had a problem getting in the shared bathroom or shower. For the price, the breakfast was really good - eggs, bread, butter, jam, peanut butter, tea, coffee & cake. A really affordable stay in KL for those on a budget.
• Matt (8/5): This hotel saved my stay in KL! - I arrived here having just left evacuated a hostel elsewhere in the city due to not feeling safe (locks were broken and people were having things stolen). I was stressed when I arrived but the lady on the reception was exceptionally nice & even upgraded my stay to make sure I would be comfortable here. It's a nice little hotel with a lovely balcony / common area & kitchen - perfect for budget travellers, as I could make my own coffee & heat up meals from the nearby 7-11. It honestly saved my stay in KL! Nothing major - the sound proofing could be better, noise from the street and people talking in common area could be heard from my room but it wasn't too disturbing. I had a comfortable stay.

Die Dachterrasse ist ein gemütlicher Ort zum verweilen. Das Zimmer ist ziemlich einfach eingerichtet, man sollte aber bei dem günstigen auch keine Suite erwarten...😉

They were generous, funny, professional, responsive, nice, everything! The hotel was just ok. I got a room with a window, but the view was only the tallest building in KL! Also a good breakfast was unexpected. That really set them a part as well. I liked it!

They gave us guidance on really interesting places to visit. The room itself was clean and comfortable with good value for money. We enjoyed the property.
• Tijana (9/5): - I loved the location, right off the market in Chinatown, and the breakfast (I wasn't expecting) was abundant (boiled eggs, fruit, cakes, bread & different toppings) and included loose hibiscus tea (my favourite). The Receptionist was professional and kind. Attention to detail when it comes to the quality of towels and its cleanliness needs to be looked into. The noise from the street was still audible and the soundproofing was disturbing my peace and sleep, as you could hear people at Reception, music from outside, anyone walking past your room.

Breakfast had bananas one day, bread, spreads, a simple cake, and a nice warm tea with fruits. Oranges are free anytime, as well as little candies so it is very welcoming. I love the atmosphere. Super clean in my room and common areas. Nice balcony overlooking Chinatown. Ac is good almost too cold. Location is right in the middle of Chinatown, and best vegan restaurant around accross the street, it’s a must, hungry tapir. Only thing I didn’t like was when I left the power in the room shits off, which is really good for saving energy, but I was drying my swim suit, so I learned to just hang it outside on balcony. No complaints.
• V (9/5): Really great place to stay too in Kuala Lumpur city center ! - Really nice hotel, very well located: the roooms are nice and clean, the sound insulation was good. Very nice and warm welcoming, very helpful as well and available. The complimentary toasts and coffee for breakfast were a nice surprise. The location is really central and convenient. And last but not leasy the nice terrace upstair, a quiet space to have breakfast or chill, with a view. The stairs can be a bit tricky when we carry a big suitcase.

• Sonja (10/5): Gerne wieder. Tolle touristische Attraktionen in der Nähe - Ich hatte ein tolles Zimmer mit Fenster. Es war sehr sauber. Auch die duschen und die Toiletten. Es gab eine Küche Inklusiv Kühlschrank. Kostenloses Wasser erhältlich sowie Wasserkocher, Tee und Kaffeemöglichkeiten. Eine traumhafte Terrasse mit Holztischen und sehr schön begrünt. Ideal im chinesischen Viertel gelegen. Mein Zimmer war sehr sauber, Ventilator und Klimaanlage haben funktioniert. Es gibt auch Zimmer ohne Fenster. Die Servicekräfte sind sehr freundlich. Bei Problemen muss man sie nur ansprechen und sie sind sofort, auch mitten in der Nacht,hilfsbereit . -

• F M (10/5): - I had a great stay at the Rain Forest Hotel. The place has a relaxed vibe, I enjoyed having breakfast on the rooftop. My room was quiet, clean and cozy, I slept very well. The staff is friendly and helpful. Location is also great, just next to Petaling street and lots of shops and restaurants. Definitely recommended!

• María (8/5): - Location is great, as well as the hotel's common terrace. The staff is amazing, very friendly. They even offered me a shower when I went back to grab my bag. My understanding is that the hotel also offers breakfast free of charge. The room is tiny, with no space nor place to store things. Also it does not have a window (that was not specified on Booking), though when I said that there was a window on pics they offered me to switch, but said that window rooms are too noisy.

• Ellen (9/5): A nice stay in Chinatown - This is a lovely hostel in the heart of Chinatown, an excellent location to stay in KL. The room is spacious and has excellent air con, and the showers were good too. There is a kitchen area with kettle, free breakfast and a good sized common area. The staff were really friendly and kind. Would recommend staying here. Minor noises - water fountain in the common area is quite noisy at night and can be heard from the rooms. Common area is quite close to the rooms and some guests would be up late into the night talking loudly (not the hostel’s fault)

The highlight for me was the rooftop common area, it's a peaceful retreat right in the heart of Chinatown. It’s a simple, no-frills property, and it delivers exactly what it promises. The rooms are compact, and the bathroom is quite basic, with the shower positioned over the toilet. Nothing fancy, but appropriate for the price.

Because of the lack of windows, the room felt very humid and musty. I really struggled breathing in the room. Otherwise, the hotel is ok if you are not having respiratory sensitivity.

• Joseph (9/5): Couples stay in KL - We throughly enjoyed our stay, very welcoming hosts. Rooms are small but extremely functional, storage boxes at the foot of each bed were very useful. We had the space we needed and made full use of the very nice communal seating/kitchenette area. Light complimentary snacks and drinks always available in the morning - having different local cakes for breakfast was a real highlight! Communal space was good for getting work done but also very social, card games supplied. Ample number of shower and toilet cubicles available, never had to wait to use despite hotel being busy. The facilties were cleaned everyday without fail. 10 minute walk from metro station and right in the heart of China Town so great food literally on the door step. Our room was cleaned on request and staff readily available for any queries. Would definitely recommend staying here. Rooms are small which may not suit everyone. Didn't bother us as this was clearly advertised with accurate photos of rooms online and we only had backpacks.

• Pieter (8/5): Great rooftop to meet others if you don't mind sleeping in a cel - The rooftop terrace is where you can meet fellow travellers and if you're in luck you can end of with a nice group of people. They offer morning snacks (basically breakfast) which is a very nice touch with fresh coffee/tea, boiled eggs, toast and banana bread. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And the location is excellent of course as it is close to train, subway and many sights are on walking distance. Wifi connection is too slow to work comfortably. I mentioned it immediately on the first day and the excuse given was that many people are using the internet. That type of "excuse" doesn't work for me. The rooms are uncomfortably tiny and most are windowless. One can only wonder how fresh air can ever get inside these "cells"?

But most of all, the staff was just so sweet and lovely. We felt the most welcomed we ever have and they were so helpful all the way through. There is also a small complementary breakfast station, which we really appreciated. Great value overall. The only small thing is that the water pressure in our private bathroom wasn’t the best. • Upama (10/5): Great location, great staff. Will stay again and definitely recommend. - Great location, very clean, great rooftop common area. The staff are very friendly and helpful staff - Irene is fantastic! The hotel even offers an unadvertised FREE breakfast - toast, butter, jam, boiled eggs, fruit and coffee / tea - simple but a pleasant surprise. We’re coming back to KL in a few weeks and will definitely book there again. Everything was great.
