- Alexandra (8/5): 100m zum Strand und freundliche Gastgeber! - Gute Ausgangslage für Aktivitäten und unbegrenztes gefiltertes Trinkwasser von den Gastgebern! Engagierte Zimmerreinigung mit frischen Bezügen jeden Tag. Hilfe beim Gepäcktransport vom und zum Boot. Und natürlich das frische Obst und die Limonade/Wasser beim Empfang! Eine zweite große Tasse so wie neuere Pfannen wären super. Nicht so weit im Grünen wie wir gedacht haben, sondern Blick auf die Schule und das Meer. Und leider ab früh morgens noch Baustelle für den neuen Weg. Diese ist allerdings zeitnah abgeschlossen.

- Manoshi (10/5): Absolutely beautiful stay, in touch with nature - Absolutely amazing place, the photos do not do it justice! Felt like we were immersed in nature with agouti, hummingbirds, monkeys, iguanas and a huge array of birds seen during our stay! All the staff were so friendly and had excellent communication throughout our stay to help with any small thing. The breakfast was delicious and filling with an amazing view to be enjoyed each day. The rooms themselves were very clean and comfortable. Only a short walk into town, key tour pick up points and delicious restaurants Nothing
- Catarina (10/5): Stillness with birdwatching and Sea View - The family that owns Casa Horizontes is super responsive, and flexible. There is AC in the room, there are 4 types of breakfast menus to choose from and you have the pleasure of eating staring at the Bay and with birds all over you! I saw Tucans, Macaws, hummingbirds, one Aguti, and 2 capuchi monkeys! They had an adaptor in the room and were always very responsive to all my questions through watsapp. As a solo traveler I felt very safe and taken care of! The way up is quite steep, but the family helps with bringing the luggage up and down.

- Jourdan (9/5): Vue incroyable sur la baie de Drake - Le personnel est d'une gentillesse incroyable ! Nous avons été accueillis comme des rois. Les bungalows sont très beaux et très spacieux. La vue du bungalow et surtout de la salle du petit déjeuner est incroyable. Nous avons eu la chance de voir un iguane et toucan devant le bungalow. Parfaitement placé pour le départ en excursion. Nous sommes arrivés de nuit et sous la pluie donc nous n'avons pas réussi à monter la côte qui dessert l'hôtel. Pedro est venu nous récupérer avec nos bagages. Ensuite, il faut une bonne condition physique pour monter aux casas à pied si comme nous vous êtes contraints de laisser la voiture en bas. Mais ils sont en train de refaire le chemin pour faciliter l'accès donc ça ne devrait plus.poser de problème.

- Silvia (7/5): - Der Empfang mit der Fruchtplatte war genial und die Gastgeberin war sehr herzlich. Die Frühstücksterrasse mit der Aussicht und den Vögeln ein Traum. Unser Haus lag mitten im tropischen Garten und hatte 2 Zimmer + Küche + Bad. Die Auffahrt war ein bisschen abenteuerlich.

Merci Le matelas du quatrième lit (pour enfant - celui contre le mur de la terrasse ) n’est pas aussi confortable que les autres.

- Maria (5/5): No hi tornaria - L’ubicacio esta molt be pero hi ha una costa per pujar-la que tot i no es llarga, costa per empinada i si no estas en forma o vas amb xancles es complicat. El personal era molt amable, ens van apropar en cotxe des de la platja. L’habitacio era gran. Ens van posar dues garrafes d’aigua de 5L i una botella de vi a l’arribada. Ens van fer un snack amb fruita i llimonada que estava molt be. La terrassa amb l’hamaca era el millor. Per un bed & breakfast crec que hauria d’incloure l’esmorzar i no es aixi, s’ha de pagar a part (12-14$). No en vam menjar cap dia aixi que no se com estava. Els taulons terra de l’habitacio estan separats i hi entren insectes (paneroles incloses), per molta mosquitera que hi hagi. Les finestres no tanquen be i també entren forces insectes. El bany no era confortable i no hi ha opció intermitja o aigua freda o aigua bullint per dutxar-se. El wifi funcionava regular amb mala cobertura. Pel preu que ens van cobrar m’esperava alguna cosa diferent. No vam fer servir la cuina. Amb un preu raonable, l’haguessim descartat pero per les fotos i el preu pensavem que seria millor, la veritat.

- 76David (8/5): Schöne Tage in Drake Bay, Frühstück mit grandiosem Ausblick - Wir haben uns auch wegen der zentrale Lage in Drake Bay dafür entschieden. Wir konnten unterhalb an der Schule parken, da wir nicht sicher waren, ob unser SUV den krassen Anstieg wirklich schafft. Die Gastgeberin war sehr freundlich und hat uns viel erzählt. Frühstück gegen Aufpreis (12 $) war frisch zubereitet und gut portioniert, vor allem der Ausblick über die Bucht war genial. Unsere kleine Unterkunft war sehr einfach ausgestattet, immerhin hatte sie eine funktionierende Klimaanlage und ein Moskitonetz. Die Balkontür ließ sich nicht komplett schließen, verzogener Türrahmen, was bei den Insekten wie z.b. Spinnen mitten im Wald nicht so gut ist.

Drake bay was lovely too, felt like untouched paradise! 😍 We came to see Corcovado National park but didn’t expect to enjoy Drake bay so much! We wished we had stayed longer. The walk you can do from the house along the shoreline and to other beaches was lovely.
- Sabine (8/5): Een prima appartement met het mooiste uitzicht over de zee en een heerlijke spotters plekje. - Het prachtige uitzicht en het warm ontvangst met een sapje en vers fruit. Verder is het een walhalla om vogels en andere dieren te spotten. We hadden enorme behoefte aan een zwembad en die is er helaas niet. Ook de weg naar de accomodatie is steil omhoog en ook nog wat trappen. Aan de weg wordt nu overigens gewerkt dus binnenkort kun je er wel met de auto komen.
- Wolfgang (10/5): Großartige Location mit Blick über die gesamte Drake Bay. - Die Lage ist grandios, mit Blick über die gesamte Bucht. Schöne Terrasse, sehr gut zur Vogelbeobachtung. Die Eigentümer sind außerordentlich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zufahrt ist ein Abenteuer, nur mit Allrad möglich. Aber im Zweifel übernehmen die Vermieter den Gepäcktransport. Eine sehr schöne Location.
- Sarah (10/5): A lovely location with ocean views surrounded by nature - It's a steep climb, but they pick you up with your luggage and deliver you back to the boat when you leave. You need to be fit to walk around town from here. We were greeted with fresh fruit and juice (see photo), and the view from our villa was spectacular. Breakfast is on the expensive side, but it was totally worth it to have it ready at 5:15AM before leaving on a 6AM boat for Corcovado. Communication was excellent, and the staff was super kind and helpful. We were surprised that our room was cleaned while we were out for the day. We had things (like water glasses, for example) where we wanted them, and they were moved when we returned. We experienced this at a couple places in Costa Rica, so maybe this is still normal there.

For us first time in CR and this Super Host helps you a lot to not disappointing you in all activities you can do from Drake Bay. We had the time of our life and as we came by water taxi, everything we could arrange via this casa. First day we waked up with the White Face Monkeys around our Casa. Thanks for all the tips and Hike and Boat bookings you’ve made for us. We did not arranged anything upfront but she managed it to have a great 3 days in Drake Bay and activities around. NOTHING!!!

We had a stunning view over the bay and jungle from our patio and a cozy hammock to lounge in. The casita was larger than expected and had the king size bed was incredible comfortable. Warm and welcoming hosts who help book tours during your stay. Highly recommend this spot! Value for what you receive is fantastic. Only thing to keep in mind is it is a walk up quite a steep (but short) hill or an exciting quick drive with a 4x4.

Manque une bouilloire ou une petite machine à café dans la chambre pour que l'équipement soit parfait.

The staff was amazing with helping to book tours and making great breakfast starting at 5:20 a.m. in case you have an early tour. The breakfast area is covered outdoors with a great view. They even put Bananas out to bring lots of birds in. It was not sealed up tight. We had a few bug harmless bugs. Being from Alaska, we were not used to that.

Après 2 nuits, douleurs de dos alors que nous n'en avons jamais car jeunes et sportifs. Le rapport qualité / prix nous semble très moyen par rapport au reste de l'offre de logements sur cette zone.

- Fabian (8/5): Sehr gute Unterkunf für einen Trip zum Corcovado Nationalpark - Unser Aufenthalt bei Casa Horizontes Corcovado war insgesamt eine sehr schöne und gut organisierte Erfahrung. Die Kommunikation vor und während der Reise war hervorragend. Fragen wurden schnell und freundlich beantwortet, und während unseres Aufenthalts hatte man stets das Gefühl, dass sich wirklich gekümmert wird. Das Engagement war sehr persönlich und herzlich. Man war stets an unserem Wohlbefinden interessiert und es wurde täglich gefragt, wie unser Tag war und ob uns noch etwas fehlt. Dies hat wesentlich dazu beigetragen, dass wir uns willkommen gefühlt haben. Wir haben sehr gute Tipps für Restaurants erhalten. Hervorheben möchten wir das Bucanero. Wir haben die Corcovado-Tagestour und Cano Islandtour gemach. Alles wurde vorab durch Casa Horizontes organisiert und verlief reibungslos. Ein weiteres Highlight war das Frühstück: liebevoll zubereitet, lecker und mit einer wunderschönen Aussicht auf die Bucht und auf verschiedene Vögel. Fairerweise sollte man jedoch erwähnen, dass die Unterkunft von der Ausstattung eher einfach gehalten ist und dafür im Preis eher teuer. Aber das ist bei allen Unterkünften in Drake Bay so. Gut fanden wir, dass es ein funktionierendes Moskitonetz und immer ausreichend Trinkwasser auf dem Zimmer war. Das Zimmer war stets sauber. Insgesamt überzeugt Casa Horizontes Corcovado vor allem durch Organisation, Betreuung und Herzlichkeit. Wer Wert auf persönliche Begleitung, Naturerlebnis und gute Planung legt und sich bewusst auf eine einfache Unterkunft einlässt, ist hier dennoch sehr gut aufgehoben.
- Nick (10/5): Comfortabel, mooi verblijf met fantastische service. - Het huisje was heel mooi en de service was fantastisch! We kregen een welkomstdrankje en fruit, er werd elke dag uitgebreid schoongemaakt (inclusief de afwas!), we hadden goed contact en kregen veel tips over de omgeving. Hierdoor hebben we zelfs een luiaard van heel dichtbij gezien. Ons kindje was mee en werd ziek, ze hebben ons toen kosteloos geholpen met de vieze was. We kwamen met de boot vanuit sierpe en ze kwamen ons met de auto halen om ons met koffers voor de deur van onze accommodatie af te zetten. We zagen apen, toekans, ara macau’s, kolibries en leguanen vanaf ons balkon. Super! Niets

- M (9/5): Wonderful stay - little paradise and amazing hosts. - We had an amazing stay at Casa Horizontes. Our cosy bungalow had its own balcony and was surrounded by trees with a view of the sea. Capuchin monkeys regularly came past but didn't ever come onto the balcony. The breakfasts were substantial and super delicious and were available even at 5.20am which was helpful for the early start tours. The breakfast bar had spectacular views of the sea and a variety of tropical birds came to the feeding station. Well worth the $12. The property has a perfect location - just a few minutes to the beach where the tours leave from. The path is very steep and slippery in wet weather but there are small steps for a safe walk up or down. They recommended a local restaurant called Bucanero which had the best food we have eaten in Costa Rica. We ate there 4 times. Our lovely hosts checked in via Whatsapp to see we had everything we needed and to make any arrangements. The bathroom in our bungalow only had a curtain and really needed a door for privacy - not a huge issue for us but may be for others. Otherwise I would have scored our stay 10.

- Janine (10/5): - Die Kommunikation vorab war sehr gut. Wir wurden informiert welche Möglichkeiten wir haben nach Drake Bay zu kommen und der Transfer mit dem Boot wurde organisiert. Wir wurden sehr freundlich am Strand empfangen und unser Gepäck wurde zur Unterkunft hoch getragen. Wir haben Obst und ein Getränk zur Begrüßung bekommen und hatten gekühltes Trinkwasser auf dem Zimmer. Die Zimmer sind einfach aber liebevoll ausgestattet. Due Aussicht vom Balkon ist schön und es ist schön zum draußen sitzen.

- Anna (10/5): Fabulous stay, can’t recommend enough. - Incredibly friendly and hospitable hosts, arranged the boat from Sierpe for us and greeted us at the beach to drive us to the property despite it being very close (but uphill, so we appreciated the lift with our luggage). We were then given fresh fruit and lemonade on the balcony with stunning views of Drake Bay and surrounded by birds and other wildlife. Location is perfect, easy to catch the boat for tours and Sierpe and nearby shops & restaurants. Thank you so much to Jami, Pedro & Greta for a wonderful stay. Nothing.

El aire acondicionado funciona bien y cuenta con una conexión wifi correcta. La recepción con un pequeño almuerzo se agradece. La carretera de acceso es muy inclinada y resbaladiza, hay que tener mucho cuidado. La habitación es bastante pequeña y la ducha no es extraordinaria. La limpieza del alojamiento es mejorable. No cuenta con TV y tampoco con unas vistas demasiado buenas.

- Gabi (10/5): Aussergewöhnliche Gastfreundschaft - Die Gastgeberin hat uns mit einem Teller frischen Früchten erwartet und uns viele gute Tipps gegeben. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Gastfreundschaft war aussergewöhnlich.
- Cindy (8/5): Heerlijk! Prima bedden en erg lieve uitbaters - Het uitzicht is fenomenaal en daar kun je intens van genieten tijdens het ontbijt; een geweldig begin van de dag. De eigenaar is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Zij zijn er opgegroeid en weten heel veel, gezellig kletsen. De locatie is dichtbij waar excursies starten en supermarkt, winkeltjes en restaurant. Top dus. De verdieping erboven werd verhuurd aan grote gezinnen, de voetstappen hoor je veel te goed. Het is houtbouw en we wilden er een paar keer wat van zeggen, zo storend. Maar we hebben de lieve vrede bewaard. Om bij de lodges te komen moet je een steile, gladde, donkere klimweg op. Goed voor de conditie, dat wel 😃. Met de bagage helpen ze je uitstekend, dus no worries.
- Tammy (10/5): We had a wonderful stay here! - This is a very pretty property. The breakfast was delicious and filling- eggs, rice & beans, plantains, avocado, toast, coffee, orange juice. Our room had an ocean side view from the patio, and a huge window on another side with a view of the rainforest. The "deluxe bungalow" is very spacious and clean. Our last night we had a very special presentation. A family member of the property owners performed for us with two members of her dance group. The were in traditional outfits, and even invited us to dance a few with them at the end. They had homemade tamale samples and drinks as well. This was for the July 25 holiday there that is to celebrate freedom of the Nicoya region from Nicaragua. The location is great. It's very close to the main beach, but was peaceful and quiet. As others mentioned, it's a steep climb, but the town is pretty hilly so it's not that out of the ordinary. A few small things. We could have used some more information/communication about the snorkeling excursion we planned through them so that we could have been more prepared in advance. The bathroom light is very dim, so it's hard to see in there and in the shower. The hammock was not comfortable. It was kind of like sitting on a tightrope.
- Paul (9/5): Family friendly ecolodge in tropical paradise - Given all the rave reviews about the view, we were somewhat confused to find ourselves in a private cabin in the forest with no view at all. After some discussion with Daniel, we moved up to the ´Casa Principal’, which is less private but did afford us a spectacular bird show of hummingbirds, tanagers, macaws, parakeets every morning as well as incredible views of the bay. The main house has 4 rooms so we did share the place for 2 nights with another couple but they didn’t mind our children! Pedro and Yami are wonderful hosts and their staff are very friendly and will help you with booking tours, dragging luggage up and down the hill and just generally shooting the breeze. The breakfast is a little steep for a family of 5 ($12pp!) but the kitchen is large and well equipped so we could organise our own breakfasts and dinners on the deck with the best view in Costa Rica! A magical place to stay! The approach is steep, which is fine. The problem is it’s really slippery as well so you have to take care walking up and down. We also didn’t dare take the car up as it wasn’t a good quality 4x4: good enough for the road to Drake but wasn’t risking it on the hill…

Which is beautiful, but they make it better by putting bananas on a post about 25 feet in front of you. Birds of all colors come to feed. There is a bird identification guide available.. The climb up the hill to the hotel is steep, slippery, and a bit tiring but isn't enough of a reason to keep me away. I would love to stay at the hotel again.

A bit of climb up the hill Pedro acted as a taxi service moving our luggage and us up and down to the boats. I recommend travelling by boat rather than driving across country it was a great experience as long as you don't mind getting your feet wet... there are no jettys. The coffee shop was never open. So we had to drink beer.

The spacious house with AC in both bedrooms provided perfect comfort after days of jungle adventure. What truly sets this place apart are the extraordinary hosts - from the moment we stepped off the boat in Sierpe, our host was there to greet us and drive us up to the house (despite it being just a short walk away). They welcomed us into their own home for fresh juice and fruit while we took in the breathtaking ocean views - a moment I'll never forget. The location is perfect - you feel completely immersed in the rainforest while being just a 3-minute walk down the hill to the ocean. Having the supermarket and several amazing restaurants nearby with incredible food and drinks made everything convenient. The beautiful hiking trail close to the property was an unexpected bonus for morning explorations. But I must emphasize - the hosts are what make Casa Horizontes truly special. Their genuine kindness, honesty, and incredible hospitality elevated our entire Drake Bay experience. They were so accommodating with every request and went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome. I left with not just wonderful memories but profound respect for these goodhearted people who made our stay unforgettable. If you're visiting Drake Bay, you absolutely must experience Casa Horizontes! Electricity goes out everywhere when it's heavy rainfall, but that's nothing anyone can control. It comes back on pretty quickly.

- Beatriz (10/5): Exceptional - staff were AMAZING here. super friendly, great service and up for a great chat. served a lovely welcome fruit spread. make sure to try the lemonade!!! great coordination with the boat staff so you can get a pickup/dropoff (we walked). and also ensured we had a place on the boat for our departure time. drake bay is really small so it's easy to get to everything within 10 mins walk

- Kylee (10/5): Exceptional - The property was beautiful and the staff went above and beyond in their hospitality including picking me up from the airport, arranging tours, and even giving me a few rides from town. The breakfast was delicious with an incredible view including stunning birds and toucans stopping by while you eat.
- Andrew (8/5): Good location to visit Corcovado - Casa Horizontes is a series of separate bungalows up a steep hill overlooking Drake Bay. We arrived by boat from Sierpe and were met on the beach by Pedro, the owner, who drove us the short distance up to our bungalow. Danny met us there and showed us the facilities before taking us up to the reception/dining area to have a welcome drink and some fresh fruit whilst we checked in. The bungalow was clean and tidy and had a small kitchen with a fridge, hob and a kettle. The hotel supplied two large bottles of water, which were replaced when needed, which was a nice touch. The bungalow was in the middle of the forest and so nature is all around as well as inside from time to time! There was air conditioning and ceiling fans in the bungalow which was essential as it was extremely hot. It is a 10 minute walk to the nearest mini market and restaurants and about 5 minutes to the town beach. The hotel offers breakfast and dinner but there are also alternative options in town.
- Ann (8/5): Geaogeous place to stay - We had rented the Casa bosque which is an absolut gorgeous place to stay, in the middle of the forest with the most beautiful views. We coul see Iguanas and birds just on the tree in front of us. We were in the dry season. The access path when by foot is partially really steep, in the dry season this was doable for us. They picked us up at arrival with a car, so Seth lugguage was not a problem. Breakfast quite pricy for 12USD, but it comes with an other nice view and bird feeding just in front.Wwe had an own kitchen. Steep access way
- Dawn (9/5): As the lady said to us - it is a little paradise! - Beautiful views of Drake Bay below. Exocrine birds on their feeders very close to us. Peaceful away from the dogs and children in the town. Some would say the steep, narrow path up the hill to get to it, but we got a 4x4 up it. If people don’t want to do this they can leave their car at the base of the hill. The manager will take the suitcases up and down in his car, so there is no problem.
- David (10/5): Views alone make this place worth staying - Old wooden house overlooking Bahía Drake - and what fantastic views.🤗 Garden full of birds; lots of rangers and hummingbirds, trees in front of veranda often had motmots, toucans or macaws. Staff (Daniel and Glori) really helpful, especially dealing with the early morning departures for boats to Corcovado or Sierpe - Pedro even collected and delivered us to the boat terminal (beach). The noise from taxi boats revving their engines and doing doughnuts in the bay is a problem for all of Drake Bay. Casa Horizonte is slightly away from the centre so less affected than some places

- Giuliano (10/5): Exceptional - The people Who own it are wonderful, the place has beautiful views and is quiet and the breakfast is just a MUST you have to do before going touring. The were extremely nice in providing breakfast even at 5:30am! Definitely recommend it and would love to go back again!

- Stephanie (9/5): A little paradise with beautiful views, helpful hosts and comfy beds. - I loved how closed it was to the main beach where most tours go from! And breakfast was amazing every day. The walk up the hill was slippery after rain and not much light.
