We looked forward to having a fure since we had a fireplace but too much smoke came out so we ended up not having a fire. Shower head was very high which made for a difficult shower but it was removable. Would definitely stay again!

I did NOT like the check-in time of (4pm), which was way too late for the rate I was charged. That was unacceptable and inconsiderate. I will think twice before lodging again here.

Verified traveler (6/5): Heating system needs an update - The place is clean. Our first room the heater wasn’t working and the high was about 30 that day do the room was freezing. They called a repair guy quickly. When it didn’t fix they were very nice about giving us a new room and upgrade at no extra charge. That room had two heaters. One worked well. We couldn’t get the other one to turn on until the morning. There was plenty of hot water. Their heating system needs an update.

Verified traveler (8/5): Too much smoke from other cabins fireplaces - The stay was great other than the strong smoke smell from the other cabins. I originally thought it was from our fire place but we put it out and removed the wood from our room and the Smokey smell would come back stronger on and off through the night and just to be sure I went outside and noticed both cabins next to us had their fireplaces lit. That was the only negative of the cabin

It had all the amenities you need (fridge , microwave , coffee machine, ironing board/iron) bathrooms are stocked with clean towels they even have a fire place inside the rooms and you can purchase wood and fire starters in the lobby. Check in was smooth and they were very friendly definitely will come back ❤️

Larry (6/5): Not A Favorite - The place is quaint but really needs to be renovated. No A/C was a surprise. With windows open one hears traffic all night. Ceiling fan needs its separate light switch. Room is overall dark. The bed was extra firm, and although I like a firm bed, this one was FIRM.
Cathy (4/5): Disappointing Selection - We chose this motel based on the Hotel.com ratings. What the heck people!? This Lodge is on noisy BB Blvd, the property is unkept the room although ADA listed, was crowded and a wheelchair would be difficult to manuever. Off street parking, yes, but again, no HC space and far from room for someone with a disability. The decor was cabin trendy, room was dark and had a strong fireplace smell. The ceiling fan / light chain was disfunctional and could not be used independently. On the plusbside, the office staff was friendly and effecient.
Jody (4/5): Pass On This One - Very disappointed by this place. Has so much potential but has not been kept up well. Needs a lot of cleaning and updating. Old everything. Feels dirty. Didn’t want to even walk on the floors. Bathrooms are so small could barely sit on the toilet without hitting my knees or head on the wall. No place to put anything either. Very poor use of space as well. The outdoor area is in need of some TLC as well.

Verified traveler (6/5): - You get your own cabin. It’s like a tiny house. The daily rate is pretty cheap, but they lose points for a rather dirty and grimy rooms with many items that require repair. The bathroom wood tiled flooring has deep cracks. The living room electrical outlet is broken. The kitchen window latch is so greasy that my fingers are greasy after touching it to open and close the window. The linens and pillows are very old and have bad smell. The furniture is at least a decade old. Nonetheless, the internet is free and included. The refrigerator and microwave works well and convenient. Consider booking with this in mind and if you mind.

For what I paid, I expect at least a good nights rest. A more comfortable is the only thing that would make me come back. The fireplace was great, and everything else in the room. Just not the bed.

A few of the amenities did not work (i.e. toaster and bathroom heater) and the cook supplies had a lot of wear and tear, but overall functioned. The outside bbq was was nice to use. Loved the fire place. The staff onsite was helpful and nice. I would recommend this place to any future travelers.

We found a live rodent when trying to put away our clothes in a drawer. The coffee pot did not work!! Not happy!!! The cable and tv were very hard to figure out, and only one input box for both first and second floors.

Heyli (4/5): - My family and I stayed for a last bit of the snow season. First sheets had crumbs that I thought were bed bugs. Aside from that when my whole family went to bed they were itching like crazy. We checked the beds for bed bugs but found nothing so the mystery continued. It was too late in the evening to move our family to another hotel so we ended up staying but itched all night and we defintely didn't sleep well. My bed was worn and lumpy they definitely need to replace them for what they charge a night. Please check under the beds when you arrive. They are thick with dust, trash and debris that has probably been there for years. I assume thst is what made us itch like crazy all night.... We plan to go back to Big Bear but I will avoid this place due the dust and the strange smell that came from the heater near the beds my whole family complained about we defintely did. Not sleep well due to the itching. The shower was really nice however there is a gap between the shower and the floor so water leaks from the shower pan to the bathroom floor. Even after you clean up the floor it continues to leak out the the bathroom floor it needs to be resealed at the bottom. The floor is soft near the shower so it is evident the leak has been there for a while. I never ever write a review but I was very disappointed. The lady st the front desk was very sweet and very nice but the upkeep in the cabin we rented was unacceptable. I wouldn't stay there again.
Russell (10/5): Embers - Every thing about he room appearance was awesome. Bed wasn’t most comfortable and big gap between headboard and mattress so pillows fall to floor behind headboard. Shower drain is really slow so floor floods. Water takes forever to get hot. All in all though one of the best places to stay in Big Bear. Staff is amazing. Fire place amazing. Well work the cost and stay.
CurlySu (10/5): - The property is located in the heart of the city. It’s walking distance from a few great restaurants options and a great play zone for families. The yard space is great for snow play and enjoying the fresh air. The cabin is cozy and comfortable. A little dated but we enjoyed it! The staff is very kind and accommodating. We’d stay here again!
Verified traveler (2/5): - I did not like the extremely saggy bed, ants near the kitchen countertop, leaky shower, remote control for TV was not working well, ceiling fan was stuck on so couldn’t use the main light and not enough lighter fluid for the fireplace so was not able to have a fire. Also we did not check in until an hour later check in time due to the room not being ready.
Family (6/5): - We stayed in the room right next to the highway! We had a horrible nights sleep for that reason:( For $270 the room could have been much nicer! Futon was very uncomfortable for our daughter. Location was convenient! Don't use the fire wood they offer you for $7, it doesn't light!

The lighting took away from the rooms comfort and ambiance! the noise from local bar between 7-10/11 was so loud that our room shook ! Due to curfews , the noise subsided . I’d suggest getting room set back from road . Our room was closer to road and traffic on main drag could be heard . Maybe get a room with more lamps and less spot light lighting !

Isaiah (4/5): Had better stays in the past, but okay overall - Been here before, love the location and place. Overall recommend but had a few things that bummed me out during my stay. First the oven was not working, I tried to locate the pilot to light I had called the front desk to help but didn't fix until the next day. Also the flume for the fireplace was closed, I asked maintenance for help he looked at it and told me it was opened and to call if any issues. I went to light the fireplace that evening, didn't notice it was actually closed until the house was filled with smoke. Lastly, on the second day of my stay we went out in the morning and came back my key cards did not work. I had to wait for their sister lodge to bring another set of keys, I was lucky I left the back door open or would've been locked out for an hour. However I will add they did their best to help (were friendly, gave extra towels, & newspaper) but a bit disappointed.

There is a Mexican restaurant right next door with delicious food. Person at the front office was very friendly and helpful in gathering information in and around the area of things to do and how to get there.
Jamie (10/5): Very nice accommodations - Our accommodations were very nice. The bathroom is a bit small and it would have been nice to have a couple of extra towels. The walls are thin and you may hear what you don't want. I look forward to renting one of the cabins for a bit more privacy. The Azteca Restaurant is awesome and within walking distance.
Portia (8/5): - It was a very cute cottage, right near a restaurant and bakery. The grounds were so cute; I wish I could have stayed longer. There were quite a few little ants in the bathroom and kitchen but nothing some spray could not handle.
Verified traveler (4/5): - Property is cute and very much a cabin. It was clean and staff was fine. We stayed in cabin 5 which is connected to office next to street. It was hot at location and the ceiling fan clanked and the box fan was loud and only moved hot stale air. There was only one small room window. So no cross breeze or way to make fan work with window. Small bathroom window was missing screen. No sheets provided for couch bed. Has nice stain glass ceiling light but is over bed and will have you up at dawn. Needless to say, no sleep for any of us which is why you get a room. Staff didn't ask how stay was. Think they know better for that room. Don't stay there in summer for sure.

Mark (10/5): Perfect Country Cabin - Gorgeous cabin with country style furnishings. The place was clean. It had a microwave, coffee maker and a small fridge. Mine had a fireplace, not sure if they all do. Firewood was at the front desk for a very reasonable price. Check in and check out were easy. Free parking. My only complaint was that the WIFI was not the best.
Verified traveler (10/5): ENJOY THE STAY VERY MUCH - This place is not quite large, but it has everything we need! Very nice rooms for my entire family of 6! The location is a plus, near main road to drive to the lake and nearby stores that you may get things you need as well.
Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful cabin! - We have stayed at other cabins in Big Bear, but this particular cabin was amazing! The two story design, with patios on both levels, added a nice relaxing touch to our summer time adventure in Big Bear!
Mr. P (6/5): Should have read carefully - The staff was nice and helpful. I'll give them that much. Our room did have an ant problem in the restroom. Beds were terribly uncomfortable...I tossed and turned all night. And be aware there is no AC in these cabins...strictly fan.
