Guest Reviews
- Palmer (1/5): -
- steve (1/5): Vomit - Old, nasty, run down, stinks. Plain old crack house dump I didn't like anything. The place is nasty
- Aultman (3/5): - The tv worked the shower was roomy and the water hot the room was clean the heater worked very well The bedding was dingy to we were scared to sleep under the covers the comforter had spots on them...I ask for more bedding that was dingy too the first room we had the tv didn't work and that bedding was dingy too....we had to cover up with our clothes...we didn't get any rest to uncomfortable a
- Andre (2/5): - Old pillows that need to be trashed. I brought my own. Brown towels that used to be white. Surfaces didn't appear clean so I took care of it. They didnt want to check me out early or at least give paperwork that says I left the room in good condition. That was painful just to get a printout for checking out.
- Regine (4/5): - The non-smoking room smelled of smoke.
There were no bed-side lamps.
Bathroom door was damaged, toilet not properly attached to the floor, toilet paper location awkward. Bathroom floor dirty.
- Duke (4/5): Disappointing -
- felecia (4/5): - The fact that the rooms was not efficient for the price
- Santiago (7/5): Good -
- Brian (8/5): Very good -
- Palmer (8/5): Very good - It was okay T.v didn't work no cold water for shower.
- Fiora (3/5): Poor - The room was full of flies! So annoying. I didn't stay three nights and was told that I could not get a refund because I had booked with you guys.
- Cooper (8/5): Very good - The full bed and they were hard.
- Alexander (8/5): I always choose to ride the Long Leaf Trace from Prentiss because of the Western Motel. - I choose this motel because it is within 3/4 mile of the entrance to long leaf trace and stayed here a couple years ago to stage my cycling trip from Prentiss to Hattiesburg. The property manager is always friendly and allowed me to leave my car in their parking lot overnight when I cycle to Hattiesburg. I have not had any break in while I was away. There are also many food options within walking distance of the motel including a Mexican restaurant. Can't complain much about the interior or the cleanliness because it's a cheap second rate motel for travelers that don't want to pay triple digit prices even during Memorial day weekend but wiping off the TV remote between guests would be a huge improvement.
- Kyaria (2/5): Very poor - Nothing
- Michael (10/5): Thumbs up! - Excellent place to stay when working in the area.
- Edward (4/5): - Staff was none professional seem to be high on something. The floor needed to be cleaned. roaches
- Verified traveler (2/5): Never again - We arrive shortly after 5pm, and the original room was not ready. Also when we were assigned a room, it still wasn't ready. It was nearly an hr. before we got in the room. The condition of the motel is indescribable. The lady from house keeping and the front desk were nice but Ill never stay there again. I believe they need to be taken off the list for stays. Shady characters. Water from tub ran all night. I hate I didn't take photos but internet photos are deceiving.
- Alex (7/5): Good -
- Karen (4/5): - It had a newish bathroom that was surprisingly clean. The sheets were clean the bed toppers not so much. The room smells of smoke and we wore our shoes the entire time as the floor/carpet was dirty with stains of unknown origin. The refrigerator had wires hanging from the inside knob and did not work but was plugged in and the microwave looked like it came from a fraternity house.
- Shaquille (7/5): Good -
- Thomas (6/5): Stains, stains, stains!!!! - It was the condition of the room and the furnishings. I was scared to walk bare foot on the carpet. The desk chair had so many stains, I don't even want to know, I could not sit in the chair. The sofa was badly used with stains. The bed sheets was clean and comfortable. And the bath room and shower were clean and comfortable.
- Billy (2/5): - Management, doing drugs, girl working knocking all night for sex, credit card not safe
- Scott (3/5): Not a place to recommend in its present state. - Location of the motel was perfect for our needs! Other clientele appeared to be conducting SHADEY business dealings out of the motel and parking lot.
Room was dirty and was apparently a room that had previously been smoked in when we paid for a smoke free room. Something tracked across the carpet, mud or concrete?
- Tony (1/5): I will not stay there again and I will not recommend anyone I know to stay there - I didn’t stay for breakfast I waited over 5 minutes outside to check in , the room was set up to sleep 3 people but it’s dint but 1 set of towel
- Sabrina (1/5): The stay was horrible !! My son got a big bite mark on the back of his head , the room was NOT cleaned when we got there - NOTHING!!!! Everything!! Bad smell , pool not open (that’s the only reason we booked it) , pictures are false advertising.
- Lasyone (1/5): It was horrible, I travel a lot for work and it was the worst - Nothing The towels were filthy and stained and the door didn’t have locks and it looks to have been kicked in before. Absolutely the worst place I’ve ever stayed
- delacerna (2/5): - I did not stay looked very unsafe
- Durr (1/5): Bad - N/a Got there with my confirmation email and they took my 70$ and told me they didn't have rooms!!!
- Michael (1/5): when I saw it i went somewhere else - pool closed, nasty
- Verified traveler (2/5): Do NOT even Stop! - We didNOT stay. The police were there when we arrived and it’s very rundown. The owner was rude to us. We were traveling by bicycle and rode another 40 miles that day rather than risk staying there.
- Seale (1/5): Prostitution, drugs, unsafe, unclean. Do not stay here under any circumstances. - Nothing. Dangerous and unpleasant If you want to surround yourself with an array of human depravity, vice, and despair, look no further than the Western Hotel in Prentiss, Mississippi. Do not, under any circumstances, stay at the Western Hotel in Prentiss. I have never left a review like this and hope never to again. We arrived, after a 45-mile cycling trek, to a darkened and locked front office. “My big sister ain’t here right now,” the young woman told us outside, leaving us to deduce that it was her big sister who was the manager. Looking around for somewhere to sit and wait, I found a single patio chair with two pieces of scrap lumber screwed to the frame for a seat. Ten minutes later a woman pulled up in an SUV and got out and went inside.
Through a bullet-proof window on the outside of the building, I gave her my name for the reservation, at which point she unlocked the door and let me into the lobby, dark and cluttered with boxes. Behind the front desk and through an open door to another room I glimpsed a scene from “Hoarders.” On the wall, Christ hung on a crucifix not far above a giant coffee mug emblazoned with “QUEEN OF ****ING EVERYTHING!” On the other side of Jesus hung a framed 2018 award from Booking.com touting a rating of 8.9. We can only assume this was on a scale from 0 to 1,000.
We were told our room (two full beds, non-smoking) was not ready, and would not be ready for 45 minutes, despite our arrival at 4:30. But, she did have a room with a king bed ready if we wanted it. Pimps controlled the neighboring room. Cigarette burn holes in comforter. Toilet not correctly bolted in place. Pool was closed, not that I would trusted it. Much more to the story but we're out of space.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok - No so good but only hotel in town
- Chris (1/5): Bad - Iam glad my truck didn’t get stolen the property it self
- Olga (2/5): Very poor -
- Rob (3/5): Poor -
- Brownsuga_44 (1/5): They canceled the stay and went elsewhere they didn't feel comfortable - Canceled the stay The people standing outside then the woman coming up to him and he said she didn't act right .
- Janice (1/5): Bad -
- Janice (4/5): Disappointing - No water for almost 2 days .No clean sheets.
- Raegan (1/5): Bad - Nothing it was disgusting The room was so dirty, it was noisy and way over priced
- Robertson (5/5): Passable - I asked for a dubbed 🛌
- Kevin (1/5): Bad -
- Nikearia (1/5): Bad -
- Terry (10/5): - Staff was VERY friendly and helpful looking forward to our next stay
- Michael (10/5): Great stay - Awesome I loved it
- Michael (10/5): Great stay - Awesome I loved it
- kevin (10/5): - Everything is very nice like second home we really enjoy our stay
- Scot (10/5): - The staff was great - really appreciated how our group was taken care of.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - NOTHING
- Verified traveler (6/5): Stop being stingy! Takes money to make it! - There are two hotels in this town on weekdays it's not too bad. It's the better of the two most days. But it's not a place for relaxing clean family fun on the weekends. The staff are friendly and very helpful and do the best they can. Weekends just bring out most of the young adults that like to party and play loud music. It seems like the guests of the guests leave a mess in the parking lot every weekend and leave it for the staff to take care of and they stay short handed because of it. In my opinion the owner needs to alot money for extra staff to keep up with the workload. Getting and keeping it cleaner along with maybe security on the weekends may keep the roudy ones away and bring back the guests who no longer feel safe their.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Best you can get in Prentiss MS - Outside needs cleaned up better cleaning inside as well carpet is disgusting it is the better of the two hotels In town because no roaches at least
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The beds were unbalanced and uncomfortable. The heat didn't work. But, the water was hot in the shower.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nothing!! It was terrible! I wouldn’t recommend no one staying there.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Is not a good place to stay on a vacation or anything. Rooms are nasty ppls gonna take picture of you around 330am while you sleep it's was just a scary place for me
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Needs major upgrading! Beds had two by fours holding them up and they were sticking from under the bed which is a hazard for someone hurting themselves.
- Ana (2/5): Western Motel - Prentis - dissapointment - We made our reservation for 6/5/2020
that was cofirmed on 6/3/2030. After 7 hours of driving we arrived at Western Motel-Prentiss, MS and we were informed that they are sorry, but there is no room and the rooms were overbooked and we need to look somewhere else. It was late night and I asked why no one called me since during the booking process I provided my cell # to be contacted with any reservation changes. Of course we received no answer. Hotels.com I am disapointed of no/this/ service. I do not recommend Western Motel - Prentis. A lttle competition is needed in the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff was very friendly and professional. The only thing I didn't like was the inconvenience of not having an iron in my room.
- Steve (10/5): - It is a quiet place where a person can get a good night's sleep on comfortable beds.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Is best place to stay in Prentiss. Room is ok. Generally clean
- Kevin (2/5): STAY AWAY - I arrived to find a very unpleasant woman working behind the tiny window that they use overnight. Immediately made me feel unsafe. I asked her several times if I got the upgrade I requested and she ignored me each time. Pretended I wasn’t even there after she took my identification. Finally when she came back to the window I asked her once again if I got the upgrade I requested and her reply was... your in room Is on the other side. As If that was supposed to mean something to me. I arrived to the room to find an incredibly stale Oder. Up to the lobby I go again. I told her about the smell and asked for air freshener. She gave me the Remnants Empty Lysol can. I asked for more and she said housekeeping was locked and she had no more. Very unprofessional and rude. And I have never said that about any of my stays at any hotel. Avoid this place at all cost. Next time I’d rather sleep in my car.
- Anitra (8/5): Our stay at the Western Motel. - A old style motel. It is very clean and the staff were friendly. The pool was not open during our stay. The rooms were very comfortable and very clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - .The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We were very behind in our travel plans and they were there to assist us at 10:30 at Night!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and professional. The room was clean and we had everything we needed. I will definitely stay there again. Thanks.
- Jaynie (8/5): - Rooms very clean, very friendly staff. I always stay at Western Hotel when in Prentiss.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Okay for the night. Lots of noise in the rooms next to me and thought they tried to clean, there were stains everywhere on the walls and the bed smelled terrible. Felt slightly unsafe from the yelling that occurred outside my door around 10pm. Okay for the night, but would not stay again.
- Kimberly (10/5): - The hotel was a little outdated but at the same time that is what made it unique. I felt like I was at home. The owner was very friendly and was able to check us in early. The housekeeper was very nice as well. I will for sure go back and visit when I'm in prentiss
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Like that has comfortable bed and amount of pillows nice tv and cable . Linen could look cleaner. Stains on sheets. They smelled clean. Housekeeping staff nice. Shower and bathroom clean. Needs some refurbishing to furniture; couch old and damp feeling. Overall for 53$ not bad. Has frige and microwave, Near restaurants and stores.
- Jeffrey (10/5): Best little Motel in Mississippi! - This a great motel. Very great in every area. I will return next time we in the area...They even had the nice size pool opened & ready in the middle of April.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Go somewhere else. - I wrote a previous review of this motel because it was dirty, smelled terrible, had roaches, and we had to leave. We were in town for a funeral, and didn’t need this kind of place to stay in. We received a receipt that our credit card would be credited “most” of our money, because we were charged a $10 inconvenience fee. Two days after my mother-in-law’s memorial service, the owner calls me complaining because I gave his establishment a bad review and said I couldn’t do that because I did not stay there. So, out of spite, he charged my credit card the full price of the room, even though we did not stay. So, I’m just putting this out there so everyone else knows what type of place this is. Sleep in your car, you’ll enjoy it much more.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to end of Longleaf Bicycle trail - Rode 40 miles from Hattiesburg out to Prentiss. Spent the night here before ridding back next day.
- Pam (4/5): Couldn’t take the smell - The room was old, there was a roach in the light fixture in the bathroom, and the deodorizer smell from the carpet was so strong it gave me a headache. We had to ask for a refund and go stay somewhere else.
- Nicholas (8/5): Nice cheap clean stay. - It was a late note stay when we entered the town and I was so tired from driving all day. I knew that I would stop at the first place I seen and it happened to be best western what a great place I must say I got out the car and went in and the guy greeted me very well cheap room I said and he said yes and very comfortable so I got the room for about 50bucks and got to the room opened the door and it smelled nice the bed was comfortable I sleep like a new born baby.. Great place to stay if your just stopping threw...
- Lindsey (10/5): Our stay was great! - We really had a nice stay here. We were evacuees from Florida during Irma and the front desk staff was very kind and accommodating! They let us check in early and accommodated our cat as well. The rooms are clean , nice and comfortable. I will stay here again when passing through! I highly recommend this hotel.
- Amanda (10/5): Best place to stay in Prentiss!!! - This hotel exceeded my expectations! The owner Kevin was extremely accommodating and hospitable. My family and I traveled to Prentiss Ms for my mother's funeral, and he gave us a group discount. He was always asking if there was anything we needed, and he and the housekeeper Greta gave constant attention to my family and the rooms; they kept them spotless! I will only stay at this hotel during my visits there!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good stay - Good stay. Served its purpose. Nice and clean.
- CHERI (8/5): Quite - It was ok I think it needs to be updated. All in all a quite night.
- Brent (6/5): Nice place to rest your head - It was okay. I was just staying there to sleep after work
- XIANGLAN (10/5): CLEAN, UPDATED OLDER MOTEL; GOOD VALUE - WE HAD CAR TROUBLE AND WERE DELAYED GETTING TO PRENTISS. THE STAFF HELD OUR ROOM AND WE CHECKED IN DURING THE MORNING.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Small older motel. Servered my needs while there and the staff was great. Its an older motel but was clean.
- Kathy (8/5): Good price, good room - Passing thru using back roads. Room was good for the price, clean and safe. Would stay again.
- William (6/5): Cheap king suite - Room was adequate but aged. King size bed was comfortable and check in was pleasant. However, there are very few choices for food and drink, and I'd recommend of opting for something closer to Jackson.
- Eldridge (8/5): Best In The Town - Comfortable. Tremendous upgrade from 15 years ago.
- Verified traveler (8/5): First time at this hotel. - Staff was great. I booked thru Expedia and was told no pets. I saw on hotel website pets allowed. I called hotel directly, staff answering phone said yes with deposit. We got there around 8pm, staff first said no then charged a deposit. They need to post and answer phone correctly about policy. Room very neat and clean! Water in shower never got past lukewarm.
