- Gill Pearce (10/5): - Always a lovely experience staying here N/A
- Stuart (10/5): Lovely Country Pub to Stay with Great Food and Staff, in Mendip Hills near Cheddar Gorge - We really enjoyed our stay at the Ring O Bells pub in Compton Martin near Cheddar Gorge in the Mendip Hills. Great staff and atmosphere, and the food and welcome were excellent! So close to country walks and really enjoyed the scenic one-track road up to the hiking trail to Cheddar Gorge (amazing views and trails galore), and drive down the gorge into Cheddar village after (though the latter is very touristy and crowded on weekends) We initially went to the wrong Ring o Bells pub located in Hinton Blewett (our mistake), but heard that both are owned by Butcombe but the latter is tenanted so the tenants can choose their own name, but would certainly help if they chose a different name as the one in Compton Martin is older, to avoid confusion!
- Matt (9/5): Comfortable…staff were great,excellent food - Everything…highly recommended 👍🏻 Nothing
- Tom (7/5): -
- Judith (9/5): Happily stay there again 👍 - Very friendly and helpful staff

- Tony (10/5): Quick but very pleasant - Breakfast was very good Nothing
- Anna Cyprus (10/5): - We had an outstanding dinner at the pub. The food was tasty and service really friendly. There is a beautiful garden for the good weather, but inside it's also picturesque.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Great value for money.
- Caroline (9/5): Easter break visiting family - Great location for what we needed. Nothing it covered everything we needed.
- Richard (10/5): Everything one could hope for in terms of country pub accommodation. - Excellent evening meals and breakfasts. The black pudding Scotch eggs are fantastic.
Friendly, helpful staff.
- Joanne (10/5): Perfect country pub with rooms. - From the start, everything was perfect. We received a very friendly welcome and were shown to our beautiful, spacious and very comfortable room a little away from the main pub area so it was very quiet. The atmosphere in the pub was great, the evening meal was delicious and breakfast was superb. Plenty of space to park and the situation in a very pretty village on the edge of the Mendips was lovely. Most of all, it was the easy, friendly and efficient service from the staff that was exceptional. We would highly recommend the Ring O'Bells and would love to stay there again. Nothing.
- Hannah (9/5): -
- Neil1911 (9/5): - A lovely old Inn with welcoming staff, good food and ale. What's not to like? The cost of a glass of wine, I blame Rachel Reeves!
- Deborah (10/5): -
- Amanda (9/5): Really pleased that we booked an overnight stay. Would definitely recommend and would book again. - Catered for a coeliac and a vegan brilliantly - dinner and breakfast. Excellent tea and coffee - fresh milk, cafetiere coffee in the room. Comfy bed, quiet room.
Great location - close enough to Bristol Airport.
Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean room. Comfy bed. Nice touches in the room. A small table to put the kettle on, or placed on the desk safely, would have been useful. I felt that I had to balance the kettle a little too close to the edge of the desk, due to the short cable, to use the kettle.
- Paul (9/5): - Great food and service. Unfortunately, we had an early flight and had to miss breakfast.
- Matthew (8/5): Nice room, excellent breakfast, super friendly staff. Good value. - Nice room, excellent breakfast, super friendly staff. Good value. Hit my head on a beam on the way in to the pub and again on the way out. Much to the amusement of the bar drinkers! My fault entirely.

- Carey (10/5): Welcoming and restful. Would recommend. - Beautiful country inn with welcoming and friendly staff who were flexible and helpful with accommodating us with a restaurant table although very busy. Able to come and go as we please whatever the time with keys to the accommodation separate from the pub.

Chien accepté très bon accueil envers lui aussi
- linda (10/5): enjoyable - breakfast brilliant 👏
- Jessamy (10/5): Lovely stay at this cosy pub - Loved how cosy the room was, room service was fantastic, spacious room, decorated in such a stylish way, breakfast was excellent, gorgeous lamps and small details around the room like old books Shower needed to be more powerful and quite a lot of banging of doors nearby late at night

- Malcolm (9/5): A festive Christmas shopping experience with exceptional scenery. - The location for our needs. To be able to eat in for evening meals.
The staff were exceptional and the chefs were absolutely fabulous and very talented.
- Oliver (9/5): -
- Caroline (9/5): -
- Steve (9/5): - Loved the open fire. The dinner menu didn’t have chicken on offer.
- Laurence (8/5): Nice pub nice place - Location for us was great,
Great range of ales etc minimum range of food but what was available was excellent, staff were fantastic couldn't of asked for more. Plenty of parking and the bars and room was all oldy wordley very pleasant and cosy. Our room was right next to the kitchen supply cupboard and unfortunately the staff didn't know how to get anything quietly not there fault just where the cupboard was
- Toby (10/5): Perfect - It was simply perfect, this is a special place
- North (10/5): - Friendly staff great service
- robin (9/5): good place to stoipo overnoght - good grub great breakfast helpful staff
accommodation all good
great location for visit

good wifi no issues
pillows lumpy
- Sarah (8/5): Friendly, welcoming staff, delicious food, comfortable room. - Lovely staff (friendly and welcoming), delicious dinners, comfortable bed and room, beautiful garden, tasty cooked breakfast. Fresh milk provided in our room for tea. There were too many flashing lights in the bedroom (CO monitor, smoke detector, WiFi etc).
Would have preferred to help ourselves to cereal and fruit/yogurt from a breakfast bar rather than have a huge bowl of granola presented to us. Would have preferred more fruit and yogurt and less granola.
More vegetables with the dinner would also have been good.
- Chris (9/5): Great pub, great staff, great food and a lovely comfortable room. - Loved the location, atmosphere of the pub, decorations of the pub and room, the food and how comfortable the bed and room are. Nothing
- Rosalind (8/5): Would stay again and recommend to others. Scenic and good base for visiting other areas, inland and on coast - Quaint old building with tasteful decoration Scruffy entrance corridor to room. Poorly lit.
- Caroline (10/5): - All very good, the team are friendly and welcoming.😊
- Andrea (5/5): Could do better - Friendly staff, lovely location. Housekeeping needs to clean more thoroughly. There were lots of cobwebs, mentioned by previous guests too!
Also the decor was very tired with chipped paint throughout including the loo seat.
Basic finishing touches were missing, the bedroom door had only been painted in a very rough undercoat. The brochure in the room mentioned 'Boutique Rooms and " personal touches". If this is what they are advertising, they need to up their game and provide rooms to this standard. The rooms we booked were not!
- Jeremy (9/5): Great comfy stay and location, excellent food available at the pub. - Staff were very good, quickly rectifying the mistake of the room being a double, quickly converting it to a twin with no fuss. Really comfy room, a lovely modern conversion from a pub outhouse. After a day's hard cycling, this was everything we needed. Evening food in the Pub was great and the breakfast lovely. Great location in the Mendips if you like outdoor activity. A bit noisy in the late evening, but not bad considering it was a weekend night.
- Helena (10/5): Cosy pub with great food and staff - Great location - close to Bristol and to lovely walks in the Mendip Hills. Great cosy pub, tasty food and attentive staff.
- Irina (10/5): Fantastic - Staff was very friendly, excellent location, very calm. The room was nicely decorated and the bed very comfy. Fantastic breakfast, everything was great, highly recommended.

- Eva (10/5): Lovely and comfortable stay - The room was better (and bigger) than expected, with good toiletries, tea and coffee facilities and comfy bed. It was also very quiet, no noises from the pub or the street. Breakfast was great with many options. We also had dinner one of the nights and the food was good. Location was perfect for us, as we were attending a festival a few minutes from the pub. Nothing. All was good.
- Amanda (8/5): -
- David (7/5): -
- Rachel (10/5): Great pub with a fabulous beer garden & large car park. Very comfortable room - It’s in a great location & the room is lovely. Also love the Bramley toiletries which are supplied. We happened to stay on a Weds night which was a promotional night for food. The bar & restaurant were very busy & we waited 30 mins for drinks.
They seemed short staffed on this particular occasion.
- Olivier (8/5): B&B en totale immersion dans un véritable pub anglais ! -
- Roel (9/5): Charming country side hotel - Very charming pub with a few rooms. Staff is super friendly. Good pub food. Nice beergarten They add a voluntary 10 percent service charge to your bill. You can have it taken off but still does not feel right

- Jeremy (9/5): Good value stay in pleasant pub with excellent staff and food - The breakfast and evening meal were exceptionally good. Good beer on draught. The pub is the heart of the village with a happy vibe. There is an outdoor cinema and BBQ area which was well attended.
The management and staff are hard-working, and go out of their way to make you feel at home.
