- Bryce (8/5): - Terrific cottages. They're small, but serve their purpose. It would be hard to stay for an extended period of time. The staff was terrific; breakfast was outstanding and something we looked forward to every morning. Just a short 50-yard walk to the shore of Lake Tahoe--what a beautiful spot. My only complaint of the entire experience was traffic noise which was very noticeable in the compound common area (we couldn't hear the traffic from our cottage), but I don't know what you do about that. It was the 4th of July for our stay, so the street were busy. I'm assuming most spots near the lake are going to have traffic noise because the street is pretty close to the lake the entire way around.

- Verified traveler (10/5): A true gem! Highly recommend The Cottage Inn! - This is an absolute gem! Our room was really small but worked perfect for us - very cozy and comfortable. The included breakfast they bring to your room each morning was some of the best food we've ever had from a "hotel". The entree is made in-house and was fabulous! You choose which items you want from a list (hardboiled egg, granola/yogurt/orange juice/entree/pastry) and it came during the timeframe we requested and was presented in a cute little box. Seriously, the breakfast was wonderful! I believe you can also eat in the main lodge where you check in but we had it brought to our room. Austin, who checked us in, was super nice and told us about a great restaurant (Shady Side) that is walking distance and their food was off the hook. Also their drinks were really strong and really good! Trust him when he tells you its walking distance; it's much easier/faster than driving the 300 ft. or whatever it is and trying to find parking.

- Christopher (10/5): - Cottages are a unique cluster of Small cabins close to Tahoe city. There is an old tahoe feel about each of the cabins. Located off 89 a couple of miles south of Tahoe City and a short 2 minute walk from the Sunnyside Resort, it’s an ideal location for summer or winter.

The cottage served breakfast each day that was outstanding. We will go back when we can just to see the area with out ash and smoke. Great spot great people.

The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. We unfortunately had to cut our stay short due to all the smoke from the Caldor fire. We will definitely be back!

I had a reservation for a Thursday night and Friday night, but snow had me trapped in reno for Thursday night upon landing. Getting to Tahoe was a miserable experience, and i asked The Cottage Inn if they would be able to shift my reservation over to Friday night and Saturday night so i could spend the same amount of time there. Totally unexpectedly, they agreed AND upgraded me at no additional cost. I couldnt believe it and theyre generosity totally changed my trip. I'm super grateful for them and how they worked with me and I cant wait to come back again. These people are kind, hospitable, and run a great ship. The rooms are perfect, clean, and well-priced. Cant wait to come back.

There is private beach access a short walk across a quiet street. The staff is helpful and friendly, and we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and happy hour. A nice, quiet place for couples. Our room, Happy Camper was so cute and cozy, nice attention to detail. We visited in October, after the high summer tourist season.
- Martha (10/5): Beautiful cottages near the lake. - This is a beautiful group of cottages with beautiful flowers surrounding their property. The beach access has great views with picnic tables, dock, and bbqs available. Bed very comfortable, breakfast good too.

The staff is outstanding, from the owner to the reception staff to the cook and the maids. Everyone seems to take a personal interest in creating a delightful visit for guests. The breakfast was outstanding, and different every day. Nearly every other couple we met told us they had come before, some for years. We'll be back as well. It's a special place.

We travel all the time . There isnt much nearby as far as shopping or restaurants.

Chris on the other hand was well versed on the property and the surrounding areas, recommending several restaurants that were spot on. The breakfasts were over the moon excellent. The property, though over run with snow, was well kept and had a very quaint, welcoming appeal.

The cottages were very cute, warm, well decorated and clean; free breakfast was amazingly delicious and with some of the best banana bread I've ever had; happy hour was incredible, with tons of cookies, cheese and over flowing wine and mulled cider; staff - every single one of them and I've met 4 of them - went out of their ways to be accommodating; facility is well maintained, and staff shoveled the snow very early in the morning despite having gotten 3 feet of snow over night. We stayed during winter and the whole property felt like winter wonderland; can't wait to go back here during summer to experience some calm summer days by the lake! Distance to Squaw/Alpine is only about a 20 minute drive, and there are very good dining options nearby.

- Molly (10/5): Cozy, warm, clean , quiet B &B. Loved it! - This place has old world charm!!! So cozy as we checked in with a nice fire burning in the lobby. Hot homemade breakfast was really fresh and delicious and included in our rental cost. In the evening , we enjoyed free wine and snacks in front of the large fireplace.We can’t wait to return!!!
