• Hanna (10/5): Perfect location - Me and my friend loved our stay at Apple tree guesthouse! The location was perfect, you could walk to the shopping and club streets in less than 20 minutes but the area closest around the guesthouse was still quiet and cozy so you get both things! The beds were bigger than we thought they would be and the people who worked at the guesthouse were all very kind :) they also have a cute dog which is a plus! You have convenience stores and restaurants close by as well.
• X6278OLanonymous (2/5): cleanliness has a lot of room for improvement - -the guesthouse owner has raised a dog in this guesthouse. the dog has a dedicated place for pee, with dog pee pads, which is located right outside of one of the bathroom. so every time i wanna use the bathroom i will pass by the dog pee place and the pee is always outside the pads, which just pee on the floor, and causes the house to stink. -the bathroom is not clean everyday, so do the dustbin. -the house is very old. -overall i just dont find the house to be clean. i even found some stains on the supposedly white pillow sheet. -there is no breakfast provided. -the owner and staffs are not really friendly.

Emmy took a really good care of me, coco always played with me after I got back, the room was clean tidy and really warm!!! and comfortable!! the only thing is the way when you walk from Mangwon station or bus stop to the guesthouse is a lil bit dark but still I love this place! Would love to go back!

The accommodation is very quiet, you have a kitchen and a washing machine you can use and it is clean. In case you have any questions you can ask the host at any time. All in all very good and great especially for longer stays in a great location.

• Darinullah (8/5): Worthy to stay - Good staff. Very friendly. During our stay only problem we found was Wifi Connection error. Share Bathroom was clean. On the ground floor have 2 bathroom. Bed is comfortable. Location close to subway and local restaurant by walk.
• Waygookin (4/5): I've stayed in better SE Asian hostels than this. - Positives: The owner was polite, and this guesthouse is a short hop from Itaewon. They are also dog-friendly. Negatives: The owner wasn't there to check us in, which wouldn't be an issue except that despite the hostel listing free parking we had to illegally park in an apartment's lot across the street until he could come meet us. When we finally got to our room, there was a cooking class being held in the common area, which we weren't told about. So instead of being able to relax after a hard day's travel, we got to lie there listening to a loud Korean TV show and *very* loud Korean conversation. The bedroom's walls are paper-thin; be prepared to hear every footstep. The bed itself is rock-hard, as are the pillows. Fortunately everything was clean. The website didn't list that the bathroom would be shared, which wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't literally just a toilet and a shower nozzle attached to the sink. If anyone else in the building uses a faucet while you're showering, your water pressure and temperature drop to zero. What would have been an enjoyable ten-minute showered turned into a hour-long battle of wills. The ceiling in the bathroom is moldy as well. TL;DR I've backpacked through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Philippines. Somehow, every hostel I've stayed at along the way has been better than this one. However, the owner is polite and the hostel is pet-friendly and close to Itaewon.
• 863ferna (4/5): Fair, Near Market and subway - This place is OK, cheap and near to subway and market but it's on under-construction when we arrived so there were a lot of noise and dust, and cannot use common room. The host used our sandals without permission. There's a dog in a house which sometimes it comes into our dorm room. Bathroom can be better.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Everything is ok except the ower - The guesthouse is not far from Metro, and there's market so it's quite easy to find something to eat. the room is clean, but the wall is thin so we can hear everything from outside, the bathroom can be better, The main problem for us is the owner, He's not friendly and he used our sandals !!! . The guesthouse is in under construction when we were there so it has a lot of noise and dust, the common room cannot be used.

• Gopp_Pati (8/5): Really good host. - We saw this place with such a good review so we booked and we did not regret. Right after the booking, Shawn sent us an e-mail explaining how to get to the guesthouse without getting lost. This was so helpful. The guesthouse is not far from Mangwon station -- you just have to walk for 5-10 mins. And the road is not too dangerous to walk. An apple tree is in front of the house, so cute. Shawn took care of us really good. He bought us Yakult, eggs and breads everyday and put them in the fridge. The room was great, clean, safe and tidy. I will stay in this place again next time I visit Seoul

• CherlyK5 (10/5): Jinjja Daebakk - My first experience here was in December 2015. Throughout the whole stay, it exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the double room on the second storey, it was like our home away from home. It was spacious yet cosy. Shaun was very friendly and helpful, he's always available 24/7. Even though we requested to borrow the bicycles at 8am in the morning, he didn't fuss at all and yet agreed to wake up so early just to unlock and make sure the bicycles is in good condition for us. Also, it's just a 2 minutes walk to Mangwon station, a 7 mins taxi ride to Hongdae and a 15 mins bike journey to catch a soccer match at the World Cup Stadium. My second experience was 3 months back. My family had arrived in Seoul a day before me and he made sure that they were settled down comfortably. And lastly, I really like how clean and tidy the house is always in. Thank you for the wonderful stay shaun, cheers :) I'll definitely come back again.
• Michael (8/5): Home stay - As the name implies, the Apple Tree Guest House, is a big, comfy, home style house that accommodates their guests into their rooms. Far from being a hotel, it serves you with a warm welcome, a home felling and cool atmosphere. The rooms are nice and clean, showers could be improved, kitchen and living rooms are spacious and convenient. We had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone looking to get away from the crowds in a chilling environment.
• Vagabond (6/5): Adequate, but would not revisit - Would not recommend for young females who are traveling alone for the first time, the living space is rather small and as a result, shared spaces are cramped. I found privacy to be lacking. In addition, people who are afraid of dogs should know that is one.

• TheTalamia (10/5): Very comfortable and good location - We loved our stay, thank you so much Shawn! He's super friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We stayed as a couple in the second floor double bed room that had an extra single bed and coffee table and small double couch, and found it extremely roomy and comfortable. There are three rooms in total on that floor, with a lovely communal kitchen, lounge and two bathrooms. Everything is decorated very nicely and it really did feel very home-like, very warm and comfortable. Security is ample with a numeric keypad lock at the front door (ensuring you can get in and out whenever you wish) and you get your own room key to lock up whenever you are out. We loved our three day stay, and it's a nice short walk to the subway along quiet and quaint streets. The guesthouse is situated not far from the very lively and popular area of Hongdae so there's plenty to do. We would definitely recommend this place!

What makes a good place great, is the person who runs it. And we can only tell good things about the host. Also, the location is convenient. It's easy to get from/to the airport, as well as to the main attractions of Seoul. Overall, he highly recommend this place for couples and singles. • B9030FO_ (8/5): Money=quality - It wasn't my first hostel in Seoul,so I can compare. We order room with 2 level bed, but received another with 2 bed - King and twin size. Room isn't small, there are chair, stool, coffee table. Mirror and fan. Only one small hand towel (for 2ppl). Out of work A/C. Room looks very nice. We live on the 2nd floor, there ate big kitchen and 2 toiler rooms with shower. One small and one bigger. In the kitchen we can use all needed kitchen equipment, can cook. For breakfast there is bread, jam and chocolate paste, tea, coffee, water. Very good location, not far from the metro station. We received good tips how to get in from Shawn. He was very nice in emails.
• sokchingl (10/5): Love the place - We stayed at Appletree Guesthouse for 4 nights during our trip to Seoul. It is a lovely guesthouse. The atmosphere felt just like home. It's a few minutes walk to the metro station and the area has a lot of markets, restaurants, and cute coffee shops. You can easily walk to Mangwon traditional market. It turned out to be our favorite market compares to Myeongdong and Gwangjang market. It's very local and price is a lot cheaper than other markets that are super touristy. Also, it is walking distance to Hongdae area. But it was freezing cold when we were in Seoul so we took the metro instead, which is only a few minutes away. And Shawn the manager is friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend this place to other travelers. Would stay here again if we have a chance to go back to Seoul.
• amiridley (10/5): Very friendly and accommodating. - I stayed here for a month with my younger sister, and I would definitely come back. Apple Tree is a small, homelike guest house in the Mangwong area of Seoul. It is in a Fantastic location as local convenience stores, restaurants and Underground stations are all within easy walking distance. You can get to the nearby shopping districts (Hongdae and Myongdong) very easily by train. Shawn, who runs the guest house, is very welcoming and attentive. He is always willing to help you plan routes or give advice on areas to visit. I highly recommend this guest house to anyone visiting Seoul.
• Kai Sum (10/5): nice and helpful owner - the owner was friendly and kind even though we didnt stay in the hotel much but he still care about our beings when we stay and he would contact you before you arrive to make sure you know how to get there. He is super helpful.
• caangel1004 (10/5): Best guesthouse ever! - We stayed at a number of different guesthouses during our trip in Korea. Appletree was the best one out of all of them! It had everything you would ever need for you to feel at home- a kitchen, washer, hot water dispenser, and clean bathroom! We had a babygirl less than a year old traveling with us. She loved the place as well! Best thing about the place was the manager Shawn's hospitality. He would never hesitate to offer help whenever we needed it. He would let us use his computer, printer and scanner at any time, order food for us when we weren't sure what to eat, help us with finding places, and even offer to wash our clothes! What more can I say? I would recommend it to anyone at any time.
• Verified traveler (8/5): room clean and nice - I stayed for 5 days 4 nights in the Apple Tree Guest House with my bf and other couple. The manager, Shawn is really kind and helpful. We felt at home during these few days.The room was clean and nice. the double room is actually got other single bed, so can fix three person. but the room space is not enough to put if u have big luaggage. the small problem is shared bathroom. not very convenient for me cause you have to change cloth inside the toilet. location: is nearby mangwon station! please remember to print out the home address with Korea words, easy to show the taxi driver if he dont know how to go.
• jesciaa (10/5): Feels like home~ - Apple Tree Guesthouse didn't feel like a guest house-and that's a good thing! It felt more like staying at a friend's home. It's clean, cozy, and has a lot of character. The free breakfast was good- you can help yourself to toast, jam, coffee, and tea. The facilities were complete too (already equipped with toiletries in case you run out of yours!). Lastly, what made the guesthouse memorable was the manager, Shawn. He was very helpful and always made sure his guests were happy and comfortable. In his free time, he can have a meal with you or show you around Seoul! :)

Easy access from both Incheon,Gimpo airport by subway. Warm and cozy environment; great hospitality by host, Shawn Great facilities; kitchen to cook, washing machine to wash and rack provided to hang dry clothes, hot & cold water dispenser Free daily breakfast Cleanliness 5/5 Overall no complaints Definitely a come back place to stay if ever to visit Seoul in future
• 914jessicah (10/5): Homy, comfy, and cheap - Wonderful place with great hospitality. Shawn the owner was very helpful. The room wasn't big but it had the curtain to give you enough privacy. Plus, I had 2 nights of quality sleep. Breakfast was simple but enough for me. Recommand to solo backpackers.

• Emma (10/5): Cosy and warm guesthouse feels like home - Apple tree guesthouse is a very homely place to stay, so cosy and comfortable even if its not brand new or high design. With Shawns care it feels like staying at a friends place. He provides whatever info or help needed. We very much enjoyed our 4 day stay and would recommend anyone that's going to Seoul to stay here! Area is calm and has some great budget places to eat.
• Darren (10/5): Great friends at a great location - Shawn was fantastic. He was very helpful and a great host. Market was very close to the guesthouse as was the subway station.
• tuwanont (10/5): Cozy like home - Before I arrived seoul, Shawn(owner) called me for confirming the room. Yeah, it is very nice. The way to guesthouse was very easy to go. There are many shop and restuarant around there. I stay here for 6 nights. Shawn is very cute and helpful, i asked for Jajjangmyeon, then he find it for me near gh. About breakfast, there is kitchen for you, you can cook everthing you want. but the weak is bahtroom is very cool in the winter!!! Hongdae is very near. you can walk about 10 mins or take a bus directly because bus is more comfortable than subway(Subway need to transit at Hapjeong st.)

• 18c_linec (10/5): I would definitely recommand it - I stayed for one week in the Appel Tree Guest House with my sister. The manager is really kind and helpfull. We felt at home during this week. The room was clean and nice. I went to two other guest house during my trip but this one is the best I went to. I would definitely go to this guest house when I go back to Seoul.
• Nicole (6/5): Worth the price - As we only stay for one night for the transfer, it is worth the price. Just that the water heater at the show room was a bit "out-of-control" as it is either super cold and super hot.
