Вночі в Катманду трохи шумно через постійний вуличний рух, якщо ви любите спати в тиші – підготуйте беруші (це стосується всіх готелів у жвавій частині міста). Ліжко та рушники були чистими, номер був прибраний якісно до мого заселення. Завтрак - континентальний, - ви замовляєте вид яєчні та вам її смажать адресно для вас. Це розміщення відповідало вартості, яку я за нього заплатив, і я можу рекомендувати це місце. Були моменти, які можна було б зробити краще, але все відповідало очикуванням. I couldn't believe my eyes at the total amount displayed on my phone because it was ridiculously cheap! Hot water? Check, Breakfast? Check, Good service? Check, Central location? Check The property is basic, but the experience felt special. The owner and his staff treat the guest like a family member. The traffic noise, but this is not a deal breaker for me.

• Deimantė (10/5): The hospitality here was amazing and made us feel cared for from the moment we arrived. - We stayed here for two nights after arriving in Kathmandu. Communication with the hotel was very smooth, especially since our flight got changed several times, so we had to change the pickup time even at the last minute. The host was very friendly and helped us with everything - even exchanging money for a better rate than we found on the street. They also offered to drop us at the bus stop early in the morning because we had an early bus to catch before our trek, and they prepared breakfast earlier than their usual serving time for us.

• Lisa_121 (5/5): Good first stay, but genuine concerns as a solo female traveller. - Please read full review, especially for solo female traveller. My first stay at Yambu was genuinely positive. The staff were friendly, the hotel was quiet, the room and bed were comfortable, breakfast was simple but tasty, and the location was excellent for Thamel. As a solo traveller, I also appreciated the help I received with local touring and dining. However, my second stay felt very different. A staff member appeared to misunderstand the nature of our previous interaction, which had been entirely platonic. What had initially felt friendly and helpful became more personal and crossed professional boundaries. I was left feeling upset, uncomfortable and disappointed enough that I chose to leave and book another hotel. What made the situation more difficult was that I did not feel there was a clear or independent way to raise my concerns at the property. I also did not feel the situation was acknowledged or handled with the level of care I would expect as a guest. I am not writing this lightly. I have chosen not to include identifying details, but as a well-travelled solo female traveller, my later experience affected me enough that I feel it is important to share. My first stay was genuinely good, so this review is based on a changed experience rather than a general criticism of the hotel. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, particularly for solo female travellers and women travelling alone who rely on guest reviews to make informed decisions. Update after property response: I appreciate the public response and acknowledgement. However, I do want to clarify that this was not simply a matter that could not be addressed during my stay. I raised the lack of personal acknowledgement and apology more than once, and there were opportunities for this to be addressed directly before it became public. What remains difficult for me is that the acknowledgement and apology have only come now, in a public response. For me, rebuilding trust would require genuine personal reflection, a sincere direct apology from the person involved, and a clear way for guests to raise concerns in confidence when they do not feel comfortable addressing the matter directly at the property.

One of my party of 8 adults had a birthday during our stay, the hotel owner had a cake brought in with the birthday boys name on it, very nice touch. The hotel location is also perfect, plenty of bars and restaurants within yards of the hotel, also shops nearby. Nothing, our stay couldn't have been better.

• Lene (10/5): I would recommend anyone to stay at Hotel Yamba Kathmandu! The staff is kind and they go above and beyond to help travel - Raj and the rest of the staff are incredible! My husband and I got picked up from the airport late at night when we arrived, and friendly staff showed us to our room. Breakfast was incredible the next morning, and Raj helped us get on a night bus to Pokhara that night, even personally taking us to the bus. We returned to Kathmandu the following week after eight days of trekking, and Raj allowed us to keep our bags at the hotel for the day, offered us breakfast and lemon tea, and got us a ride to the airport that night! We felt lots of kindness :)

Daarnaast was het fijn dat we door het hotel naar de juiste bus werden gebracht voor de volgende locatie. Ze bieden een gratis pick-up aan, maar ze waren ons vergeten op te halen. De bedden waren oncomfortabel en de badkamer onhygiënisch. Er waren twee kakkerlakken in onze kamer, uiteraard zitten die overal in Azië, maar het zegt wel iets over de hygiëne in het hotel. Ze bieden je een taxi naar Bhaktapur aan voor $40 dollar, terwijl je via InDrive voor 800rs (€5,-) met de taxi erheen kan.
• matej (10/5): - Great stay at Hotel Yambu Kathmandu Stayed 13-15 April 2026. Excellent central location in Thamel, easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable, with good AC and hot water. Bed was perfect for resting after long days out. What stood out most was the staff — they were genuinely friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Made the stay feel very welcoming. Breakfast had good variety and tasted nice. Overall great value. Would definitely stay again next time in Kathmandu.
