Guest Reviews
- Patricia (9/5): Very good - The eggs were not very good. They tasted weird. But everything else was very good. The eggs..weird texture
- Mathew (10/5): -
- Dorothy (9/5): - Very nice breakfast. Nice variety. Staff very pleasant and got things refreshed quickly. The room we had was fairly small for a king room. And very dark. But this is a very minor complaint. What makes a place in my opinion is the staff.
- Randy (8/5): The breakfast could be better quality. Eggs not great sausage and coffee could have been hotter - Location Construction which will be over soon
- Sharon (9/5): - The room has got good decorations and thematic. Great location. The staff is friendly.
- Janet (9/5): Nice for a short break - We enjoyed the location There was nothing to dislike
- Linda (5/5): Ok u should have a half price upgrade to make up for the difficulty. - Nice little area , no one in booking let u know the hotel has Big Hole in front . A maze to get in parking . It was All Construction , no notes in Site .( booking . Com
- Elizabeth (8/5): We had a great weekend stay. - Historic hotel, centrally located in one of Ontario’s pretty and historic towns. Rooms have been nicely renovated. As has the rest of the hotel, which my husband remembers, from his youth, as a dive where he and his buddies drank beer… It is not quite as posh as its “Signature Hotel” designation would lead one to believe. No proper restaurant, although the bar serves snack items. Breakfast was included, but not up to the standard I was expecting.
- Brian (8/5): - We enjoyed everything. Would have loved to be able to eat in the dining room but it was closed. It should be open every day. Breakfast was disappointing. With that big beautiful kitchen the food could be so much better. The eggs are tasteless and potatoes cold. The bagel was so stale it couldn't be cut with my knife.
- Rodger (9/5): -
- Jaelyn (10/5): -
- Nichols (9/5): - The rooms are themed. Tolkien! Our floor had mary Shelley sigmund freud etc. room was huge great value and comfortable. 250 deposit when room is 238 but much. And breakfast was an after thought. Was not attended too bagels hard as rock. Warm yogurt. Nothing on ice or there was ice at beginning but was now water. Messy bar area.

- Doumith (8/5): -

- kevin (10/5): - Parking was tight
- Rosie (7/5): Very pleased - The breakfast was great and included and the cleanliness was welcoming .... bathrooms in very good shape beds beyond comfort nice Victorian style palace type rooms but set up modern ... im an asthma patient and I never was bothered Everything was to our liking was a great get away for a anniversary
- Meghann (10/5): - Location was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. We loved the themes room. The breakfast was very delicious and we were impressed with the options available
- Dominique (9/5): - We didn't realize that each room was decorated based on a unique theme so we were pleasantly surprised when we checked in our "superhero" room. It really added to the boutique hotel vibe. The staff was very kind and the continental breakfast was the best I've had so far. And can't have a better location.
- Dorothy (10/5): - Decor of room was wonderful. The whole hotel was so uniquely decorated. Breakfast could have been better. Same selection both days.
- LANCE (8/5): - Good
- Maria (10/5): Relaxing and blissful stay. - Welcoming staff, comfortable and clean room, good variety of breakfast. Can't think of any.
- Marcus (10/5): Great value and experience - Clean quiet large rooms The big dig outside
- rebecca (8/5): we were there for an unexpected death in the family so it was a long emotional quick trip - breakfast was perfect. the staff very coutious. not the fault of the Arlington but the odor from the construction area was very bad.
- Michel (8/5): Lovely! - The continental breakfast was pathetic, very poor. It is the only reason why I did not give it a perfect score.
- Vincent (7/5): -
- Joseph (8/5): - Friendly and accommodating staff, comfortable beds Parking
- Randy (10/5): Very nice adventure and everything and more. Suggest you try Stillwater’s restaurant.Beautiful setting and great view on - Unique, historical Hotel in awesome location / setting and close walking distance to town shops. Also walking distance to restaurants and the scenic Grand River and waterfalls. Location feels very safe .Main drag is under construction right now however a slight inconvenience and signed well and detours no problem.Great overnight trip for us.Followed by a nice Continental breakfast included. Will definitely return for more adventure. Nothing!

- Shannon Kay (10/5): -
- Keith and Bonnie (9/5): Very good value and comfort - Very nicely redone hotel with the old character The historical presence
- Lesley (10/5): The elevator is dressed as a Tardis..what’s not to like?! - This lovely old hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard without losing character. We stayed in the Brothers Grimm room which was immaculately clean and well equipped. The staff were very pleasant to deal with. The in-room coffee maker is a Keurig so we could choose the coffee blend we preferred. The provided coffee whitener was not to our taste so we chose to purchase our own cream which we stored in the in-room fridge. We had planned to explore Paris as the hotel is very conveniently located in the centre of town but inclement weather forced us to make an early departure. We will most certainly book a visit here again…Agatha Christie or Tolkien rooms perhaps? Parking is limited, on a first come, first served basis. It’s quite cramped and a challenge to negotiate.
- Helen (10/5): - Everything in the hotel Parking
- Colleen (8/5): - Location, old building Breakfast could have been warmer
- Vincent (10/5): - I liked the breakfast, our room was clean and we has a quiet stay, we liked the 2 pm check in.
- Gabriela (8/5): -
- Ted (9/5): -
- Sarah (9/5): Great location, clean, safe and great staff - Interesting room themes by author Bathroom ventilation
- seekmore259 (6/5): Ideal location but needs improvement - The hotel has old bones but some updates have been made. The room was spacious and clean but there were signs that it needed some love; holes in the wall that were not repaired, wall paper peeling in spots and water damage on the walls in the bathroom. The shower water temperature was also inconsistent and never got truly hot. The location is ideal but the price point is high for the lack of attention to detail.
- Hayley (8/5): - Cute hotel in a quaint little town. Hotel parking out back and breakfast on site.
- Booshy14 (10/5): Excellent night. Clean and beautiful Hotel. Amazing staff. - Breakfast was lackluster. The eggs need to be changed. The staff was amazing. The gentleman at the desk was top-notch.
- alvin (10/5): -
- Stephanie (10/5): -
- Linda (9/5): Great relaxing evening in a lovely room - Location, staff and room Bar wasn’t operating on Tuesday
- nancypE6752CB (6/5): Couldn’t wait to leave! - The hotel is old but the room was adequate and clean. Parking is free but difficult to access on site. The problem is they’ll tell you they can accommodate any dietary requirements. This is not true. Both the hotel and wedding venue did not provide suitable options for gluten free diets. If you have celiac disease, this may not be a safe place to eat.
- JOHN (8/5): -
- Wayne (9/5): Very good. We appreciate historic hotels. Location was perfect. - Location was great - right downtown. Period decore. Clean, quiet. Interesting bookcase bar. Nothing.
- Renee (8/5): Paris is a lovely town & Arlington is a terrific hotel. - Room was clean and quaint & the bed was incredibly comfortable. Free parking, walking distance to restaurants and shops.

- Nicole (7/5): -
- Harry (10/5): Very enjoyable - Bfst ok staff friendly and helpful
- Christina (8/5): A very unique hotel stay. Definitely not a cookie cutter - Excellent location. Unique design. Inviting lobby and bar area. The historical architecture was kept while at the same time modernizing the building Attention to detail by housekeeping could have been better. The food at breakfast was very adequate but there wasn't a staff member there to keep things topped up.
- Adolfo (10/5): -
- Paula (10/5): -
- PETER (8/5): - Clean room staff was very friendly but the parking is difficult
- Hanni (10/5): - Clean, great housekeeping, interesting rooms
- Taishu (8/5): - Love the old style decoration and vanities. Parking lot is very convenient for in and out. Located at a nice downtown area.
- John (8/5): -
- CLaudine (10/5): Boutique Hotel - Great location, great history and the best service.
Been going to the Arlington since 2005 we have stayed in the Jane Austin, Dr Suess, Mark Twain and more. Miss the original styles in the guest rooms the new hotel furniture are already showing damaged
- Leo (8/5): -
- elizabeth ann (1/5): -
- Hanni (10/5): - Great hotel
- Dwntime (6/5): Not a restful night - My wife and I have never been too Paris Ontario before and decided to spend a night at the Arlington . First thing to note is that the parking is limited behind the hotel , we waited a bit and got lucky as someone left after about 20 minutes of sitting . Check in went smooth with no issues , stayed in the Sigmund Freud room which was ok , large enough but not anything special , 7/10 for room .
The bar in the basement looked like it would have been fun but even on a Saturday it was not open . There is a bar on the main floor but the beer selection was bad , the bartender told us the gas on the beer lines wasn’t working so it’s all flat . So we went down the street and ate and had drinks .
Get back to the hotel around 9-10 pm and there was a wedding going on across the street and people were coming and going from the Arlington . Luck would have it that some of the party goers from the wedding were staying in the room beside us on the 3rd floor . The screaming and partying went on until about 3am that night . We called the front desk a few times and finally someone came up and asked them to tone it down . So a restful night it was not .
Breakfast which was included was very very average , zero special about that , so we ate elsewhere , coffee was good though .
Not sure I would stay at the Arlington again , if you do I’d make sure there isn’t a wedding going on because it really put a damper on having a restful night . Not worth the price tag that night for sure !
Average Hotel that could be much better would summarize everything .
- Joannie (10/5): - Very nice clean room,
- Kevin (10/5): - Nice place, convenient location.
- Maggie and Jan (8/5): - A little disappointed that we didn't get our room tidied during our 2 day stay. There was no information in the room that we wouldn't.
The bath-tub was very slippery; it would have been nice to have a rubber mat to put in it.
Buffet breakfast included egg-bites and tater tots that on Day 2 were obviously just warmed up from Day 1.
Otherwise room was spacious and quiet.
- Margaret (10/5): - We loved our stay in the Edgar Allen Poe room. The whole hotel is beautifully decorated.
- amandac132 (10/5): Stayed 2 nights - My son got married at Rivers Edge, the Arlington Hotel is conveniently across the street. We had a junior suite, that was spacious and clean. Enough room to get ready prior to the ceremony. Each room is decorated uniquely! The bed was comfortable and noise minimal. The library bar looked beautiful, being somewhat local, I will be back to enjoy it when I have more time. If you're in the area, this is the place to stay.
- Cheryl (8/5): - Main Street under construction. Too bad.
Pretty town. Nice river settings for food and drink.
- yvonne (9/5): -
- Clint (8/5): - A lot of choice for breakfast, but the eggs and sausage were a bit dry. It isn’t the same as other BW hotels and the others were more of an omelette that stayed fresher much longer.
- LIANA (6/5): - Location was excellent. Mattress was very hard. Windows were thin, noisy. Elevator at night very noisy, could hear in room.
- Alain (10/5): - enjoyed the Monty Python room
- Teresa (10/5): -
- Emily (8/5): - Parking was a bit confusing but other than that was beautiful hotel.
- catherine (8/5): - Very convenient location
- Thanh (8/5): -
- Clifford (9/5): -
- Louis (9/5): -
- Jennifer (7/5): - Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. My partner & I both found the bed and pillows uncomfortable although the linens were of good quality and freshly laundered.
