• gusnavrete (8/5): LUGAR MUY SOFOCANTE SIN AIRE ACONDICIONADO, PERO PERFECTA INMERSIÓN A LA NATURALEZA - Lo que más me gustó es la ubicación, en estar inmerso en la naturaleza, el sentirme parte de ella, estuvo increíble caminar por los senderos, ir a la poza y nadar en ella, atravesar la selva y llegar a la playa, estuvo fenomenal. Desde que llegamos la chica que recibe, muy a fuerzas es su trato, posteriormente al llegar a la habitación nos sorprendió que no había un aire acondicionado, solo ventiladores el calor era sofocante para dormir o conciliar el sueño, al entrar a la regadera había cabello por todas partes pegado en el piso de anterior huéspedes, fuimos al "bar" y las bebidas estaban súper caras para ser huespedes no deberían abusar de las bebidas al menos que los hospedemos ahí pues el chiste es disfrutar y no hacer más negocio del que ya hacen, también insistente el mesero en obligarnos pagar las bebidas inmediatamente cuando nos las sirvieron, pienso qué el mesero creia que nos íbamos a ir sin pagar, luego nos querían cobrar una toalla siendo que las devolví en la cara de la recepcionista, es decir siempre están al tanto en qué ellos ahorrarse y en qué ellos cobrarte.

Abendessen zu kostspielig - im Ort um ein Vielfaches günstiger.

• Rupert (9/5): Anytime again. - Breakfast was good and tasty. The location is very good (if you love beeing in nature). The room was nice and had a balcon with a good view to the Pacific. For 4 people was the room on the small side.
• Tobias (10/5): Residieren, wie die Könige im Dschungel - Das Hotel ist direkt im Dschungel. Wir haben über 50 Vogelarten gesehen und insbesondere jeden Abend Tukane. Auch Brüllaffen waren regelmäßig da. Der Pool ist groß und die Zimmer ebenfalls geräumig (entgegen dem Text in der Zimmerbeschreibung). Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und das Essen im Restaurant super. Die ganze Anlage sieht aus wie im Film und es gibt mehrere Dschungelpfade auf dem Gelände, u.a. zum Strand im Nationalpark und zu einem natürlichen Wasserloch. Es ist wirklich ein ganz toller Ort zum Entspannen gewesen und wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Die Zimmer haben keine Klimaanlage und keinen Kühlschrank
• Silvia (10/5): Para seguir viniendo - La Cusinga es una hermosa reserva natural, repleta de aves y vida, tiene una vista espectacular de Bahía Ballena y tiene un poquito de todo, playa, bosque, rio, catarata, piscina. Es un lugar rústico, eso es parte de su encanto, pero tal vez una pequeña refrigeradora en la habitación podría ser de utilidad para tener bebidas frías.

• sabine (4/5): Deception ++++++++ - L emplacement est vraiment exceptionnel Le personnel de restauration est attentif Nous avons fait 7 hôtels au Costa Rica et nous terminons notre séjour sur de l amertume. La chambre est dans son jus des année 80, pas d entretien de la tuyauterie, moustiquaire trouée, pas de réfrigérateur pour avoir de l eau froide. Notre chambre n avait aucune isolation phonique, aucune intimité. Un dortoir commun avec les vacanciers attenants aurait été similaire. Durant tout le séjour si nos voisins vacanciers avaient de l eau chaude, nous avions de l eau froide et inversement. Je n envisage pas mes vacances à devoir prendre rendez vous pour l instant douche avec mes deux enfants pour m assurer d avoir de l eau chaude. Tout cela à été entendu par des remarques irrespectueuses et jugeantes de la part du réceptionniste. Certain membre du personnel on des remarques ou attitude inacceptables. Un geste commercial a été fait sur la partie restauration mais ce n est pas à la hauteur du désagrément. Quand au Check out je n’aborderais l attitude hautaine. Vous payez bien cher pour un cadre mais pas pour un service.
• Terese (9/5): Vackert, bekvämt och gav en lyxig känsla för hela familjen. - Vi hade en underbar vistelse i vår fina lodge. Jag älskade naturmaterialet i dusch, balkong och vardagsrum, så smakfullt. Personalen var trevlig och hjälpsam, solnedgångarna och utsikten fantastiska och frukost var bra. Vi älskade att vandra ner till den privata stranden. Allt var bra. Kvällsmenyn var okej.

• Christian (9/5): - Eine hochklassige Unterkunft mit entsprechend freundlichem Service, Sicherheitskonzept und tollen Zimmern/Holzhäusern im Wald verteilt. Toller Blick aufs Meer. Die Wanderwege auf dem großen Grundstück sind gut in Schuss und schon recht abenteuerlich also nicht mit Flip Flops loslaufen. Punktabzug da wir vorab nicht informiert worden: Wer an den Strand möchte muss dafür ein Permit kaufen - in Uvita im Nationalparkbüro, persönlich.

• yessica (10/5): Un Paraíso en el sur.... - El hotel es hermoso, todo esta en armonía con el ambiente, se respira una paz y tranquilidad, si buscas descansar del día a día, este es el lugar indicado, ofrece senderos, playa, poza para refrescarse. El desayuno muy rico, con una variedad de opciones para escoger, frutas y bebidas. Y por supuesto y no puede pasar desapercibido mirar el atardecer...es una experiencia única. En términos generales el hotel cumple con todo para pasar una estadía confortable, por la zona, hace calor, a pesar que cuenta con abanicos, quizá seria importante considerar contar con aire acondicionado.

• Jennifer (10/5): Beautiful Location and Accommodation in Fantastic Setting - Fantastic lodge in the most beautiful setting. We loved the trails that could be used right by the property. Staff were excellent and food in the restaurant was great. Lovely pool and beach. Wonderfully quiet while we were there, apart from the amazing jungle noise - Howlers, Toucans and numerous other birds, amazing to wake up to each day. Wished we could have stayed longer and would definitely return and recommend without hesitation. Nothing!

Une vue incroyable de la chambre. Les chambres sont assez petites, cependant, elle possède 2 lits doubles ce qui est agréable mais c’est aussi ce qui prend toutes la place. Pas de frigo dans la chambre.
• Carsten (10/5): Absolute Weiterempfehlung. Wir waren sehr begeistert. - außergewöhliche Unterkunft. Da die Zimmer keine Glasscheiben in den Fenstern haben sondern Holzllamellen zum abdunkeln und Moskitonetze, hört man den umliegenden Wald Nachts außerordentlich gut. Was für uns überhaupt kein Problem war. Man fühlt sich quasi wie im Dschungel. Personal super freundlich. Restaurant wirklich seeeehr gut (wenn auch nicht so günstig). Sehr schöne Aussicht vom Frühstückstisch auf den Dschungel und das Meer. Kostenlose Parkplätze und gutes Internet. Anlage sehr gut gepflegt und toll in den Dschungel integriert. Absolute Weiterempfehlung unsererseits. Wir würden auf jeden Fall gerne nochmal wieder kommen. das wir nur so kurz da waren ;) . Für lärmempfindlichere Menschen könnten die vereinzelt auf der Straße vorbeifahrenden, teilweise lauten LKW in der Nacht ein Problem sein.
• Lucie (9/5): Nous aurions aimé passer une 2ieme nuit mais tous les lodges étaient déjà tous réservés. - Nous avons été accueillis avec une grande gentillesse. Endroit très sympathique et surplombant la mer et la flore. Il accueille les invités avec une grande mobilité. Pour nous il n’y avait pas de problème mais soyez avisés ceux qui ne peuvent se permettre de marcher dans des sentiers pour vous rendre à votre lodge.

Les chambres sont spacieuses et très bien ventilées. La vue sur le Pacifique est fabuleuse. À marée basse on aperçoit distinctement la queue de baleine du parc Ballena. Lodge ebenfalls mit traumhaften Blick aufs Wasser vom Bett aus. Die Auswahl beim Frühstück war À la carte und sehr eingeschränkt. Wir waren 2 Nächte dort und hatte schon Probleme beim 2. Frühstück etwas abwechslungsreiches zu finden.

• JURGEN (8/5): Comida espectacular. - Las vistas son espectaculares, todas las comidas estuvieron excelentes. No hay necesidad de ir a almorzar o cenar a otro lado, hay mucho que hacer adentro del hotel. Que no tengan A/C. En las habitaciones No me imagino el calor en temporada seca. El baño de la Habitación tepescuintle tenía un olor feo.

• veronique (10/5): Beautiful hotel with a great view of the sea with fun trails - We had a great stay and ate all the meals at the restaurant which had fantastic views. The bungalow had a balcony with a view of the whales tail, had a fantastic large bathroom. The pool was beautiful. The trails for me made the property super special and I did them all. The natural pool was beautiful, the privte beach was really big . The owners made sure that the trails were easy to follow and extremely safe. The staff was very friendly. I saw some monkeys play I'm the car park. There was a security guard at the front which made us feel super safe. The bungalows, view point, yoga room were all charming and modern at the same time. The cleaning was done every day. A small fridge in the room would have been useful.

The property offers a beautiful beach, lovely on-property hikes, waterfall pond, a wonderful experience where the ocean meets a flowing river, lovely swimming pool and views everywhere you turn. • Angela (10/5): A relaxing and peaceful place. - Beautiful location with a great view of the whale's tail in the national park nearby. The onsite restaurant was very good, and our bungalow had a cute garden with many birds throughout the day. It also has several little trails of its own so you could easily spend a few days just staying on the property. There is no air conditioning, but there are many fans and a good cross breeze from the ocean at night.

• Matthias (9/5): Excellent place to stay. Very nice lodges, very good breakfast. - We had a lodge with great ocean view. 10 out of 10! Beds were comfy, the bathroom huge, the view extraordinary. Breakfast with very nice options and the lodge offering options for those needing to leave early (very early = packed breakfast; early = scrambled eggs; normal = choice of local breakfast, different egg options, ...). Breakfast / restaurant place also with amazing views. Also very nice the official pool, an additional private nature pool with a small waterfall, and the possibility to hike to a 'kind of private' beach (accessible via the lodge's property but officially part of the nature parc). A bit of pre-arrival confusion if breakfast was included in the booking.com rate. Quick reply and positive response from the lodge - much appreciated. Location a bit out of town and yet not really in the midth of nature since trucks driving on the main road can still well be heard.

The entire property is built from beautiful wood and carefully placed amidst the vibrant natural landscape full of birds and beautiful plants. The walking trails and the direct access to a pristine beach located within the nearby Ballena national park provide great opportunities to relax. The restaurant could put a little more emphasis on local food

• Cleo (9/5): Amazing grounds and view - Surrounded by nature. Great views of the bay from the reception, the restaurant and the room. Veronica at reception and Carlos at the restaurant were super friendly and helpful. The yoga place is fantastic. The rooms are basic but the grounds are amazing.
• Mariana (9/5): Superb - We loved our cabin in the jungle!! the cabins are set at a good distance from each other to preserve privacy and the balcony with view to the ocean, trees, flowers and birds was just fantastic. The room facilities are similar to "glamping" style, so basic, but in a very comfortable and charming way. Although some may miss air conditioning (there's fans in the room), I actually loved that the windows have only shutters and a net to protect from insects: you hear all kinds of animals (with the sound of the waves as background) all night (and day) long! the hiking to the very secluded beach is not an easy one (especially with little kids or if you have problems walking), but it's totally worth it. Some comments complain about the stairs. Keep in mind the hotel is set in a mountain and the paths among rooms and main building and other facilities are at different heights naturally. It's part of the charm of the place and they help you with carrying your luggage (or anything else if you need it). The breakfast and meals (we had lunch and dinner there all days) was delicious. A lot of options, plenty of fresh fruit and veggies/fish plus classics like sandwiches, but everything really good and in very abundant portions (I definitely recommend sharing plates if you're not a big eater!). The common space is also lovely, to enjoy sunset and a drink, they welcomed us with a fruit cocktail and helped us with a lot of information about the area and beyond. We had a few little problems in our cabin (a light malfucntion, little shower presure), but they were fast to fix it as soon as we reported it. The yoga area is stunning... like someone in other comments said, too bad there's no instructor available, even the not experienced yoggi's would want to join with the breathtaking setting. we loved the pool as well, quiet and refreshing (water in the sea was really too hot!!), with enough lounge chairs and shade to recover from the steep walks. nothing really, I loved the place, although the bar and restaurant prices -despite good quality- were quite high. Perhaps they could put a bit more attention to check and maintain the rooms before arrival, to avoid having to report little things like we did, but for the rest, amazing place.
• Mike (10/5): Perfect little jewel of a hotel nestled in the Marino Ballena coastline. - Loved the fantastic location on the edge of the national park and the trails down to the beach and waterfall. The staff were unfailingly friendly and relaxed. The gardens were beautiful, attracting many birds. The restaurant was also the best we ate in on our Costa Rica trip. Our bungalow was spacious and airy with a lovely balcony overlooking the sea. Absolutely nothing. Loved our stay here.

Nothing really, I would suggest a small fridge in room for keeping water cold. A/C in bedroom if possible. Or silent fans. Please get a Yoga instructor! Best yoga studio in world! So sad no instructor!! 🌴👍

Had an amazing dinner. the passion fruit cheese cake was the best I've ever had. the staff was so friendly and amazing. highly recommend. the views from the top and from our room were stunning.
• Cristina (10/5): Amazing hotel in a quiet area . - Great location just outside Uvita centre . Huge rooms . Lovely ocean view . Had a pool and a small “poza” for a quick dip. Hike trails available within the compound. Some wildlife around as well - we saw a sloth,some colourful birds, heard the howling monkeys. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. No a/c in the room- it was sooo hot and humid. There were no bins in the room except the one in the toilet . No table although room was huge . Breakfast was a bit strange as we had to order from the menu but anything that was not on the fixed list had to be paid extra ( got charged $2.44 for a spoonful of yogurt)

• Laura (10/5): An oasis between the jungle and beach - Amazing property with security and a friendly staff. We had welcome drinks upon arrival and a personal tour of the property to our rooms, which were nicely secluded from other rooms. It felt incredibly private but still accessible to the property’s reception and restaurant. We enjoyed cocktails in the reception lodge while the sunset, a lovely dinner in the restaurant, and an early morning hike to the beach. The staff were extra accommodating and let us leave 3 bags for storage so we didn’t need to carry them to Sierpe/Drake Bay for our Corcovado adventure. The lodge feels quintessential eco-tourism that Costa Rica is known for. This is an absolute gem!
• Laura (10/5): Great value! - Absolutely stunning property that overlooks the ocean and has well maintained trails. The service was five star and the staff were incredibly welcoming. We only stayed one night en route from La Fortuna to Sierpe. I wish we could’ve extended our stay because it was one of our favorite stops on the trip. There’s so much to do, even with a 6 year old. Breakfast and dinner at their restaurant was also totally solid, but it’s just a short drive into Uvita if you want to go off site. I would 100% stay there again.
• Gustav (9/5): A private part of paradise - Spectacular view of the pacific ocean from our hut. Hummingbirds right outside our door. No glass in the windows, only mosquito net plus wooden blinds made it feel like camping in the djungle but with the comfort and safety of a house. The pool was saltwater and fantastic. Food was good and personell was very friendly. There were short trail loops that were maintained and nice. Playa Arco was like a paradise in miniature. We were almost alone there. (10 people in total on a 500 m beach, 18 december). Uvita is a nice village nearby. Car is necessary. Driving in Costa Rica isn’t for beginners, but not too bad either. No fridge in the hut meant you couldnt have any cold drinks or snacks. Sound travelled VERY easy from the one half of the hut to the other (two ”apartments” per hut)
