Guest Reviews
- Carmen (8/5): -
- Steven (8/5): - Great stay for cheap and right downtown. You can walk through the hotel into Mr. Ed’s, and there is a subway in the lobby. However, take the Jet Express so you can just walk to your room. You will save $80 a day on a cart and if you park out back in the alley, you will get your golf cart stolen. You don’t need one anyway, since you’re right in the heart of downtown.
- Mallory (10/5): - Great stay.
- Brittney (2/5): - There is no one here. Sign says to go to a bar down the street and ask them to check in. We have an issue with the fridge and called the "on site manager" but no one has answered or called back. The room smells musty and is not in great condition (floor tile is crumbling, especially in bathroom). It was also difficult to find.
- Earl (10/5): - Pool bar and cart rental
- Ray (10/5): - Not a 5 star but is equal to all other of the properties in the area.
- Lesley (6/5): - It really wasn’t that great. Limited parking. Rooms weren’t very clean, very weird area lol but the places around weren’t too bad.
- Jeffrey Forest (4/5): - Given a room which had a bathroom commode so large that the door could not be closed. Remote TV wouldn’t work only to find wiring in back of TV had to be ‘jiggled’ and remote batteries replaced.
- Susan (4/5): - We stayed in a king bed room. As soon as we walked in there was a weird, kind of musty/moldy smell that was present during our entire stay. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been deep cleaned in a very long time. There was a water leak coming from under the toilet tank and moldy grime caked into the caulk. Every time you sat on the toilet seat, the entire toilet moved and made a noise.
There was a very annoying water drip coming from somewhere the entire night. (We presumed it was from the air conditioning unit but couldn't pin point it for sure)
- india (2/5): - The only thing that I liked about this property was that it near everything you’re right in the heart of it. What I didn’t like about this place was that the room smells very bad it’s very small. The pool closed super early the tv did not work the shower was dirty and it took forever to find.
- Patricia (8/5): - the staff were great pool area was nice but the floors in the rooms were dirty ,your socks or feet were black and per staff that came and mopped the room the floors had not been sealed when they were put down ,area was great, loud at night when people were walking by but you are in a area that nosie is expected over all i would stay there again
- Marco (10/5): - Room was clean and staff was friendly on hand and prepared to meet my needs
- Hamilton (10/5): - Everything was good.
- Kimberly (2/5): - So gross, the mattresses were stained and everything was dirty. Very load at night.
- Kristen (8/5): - Great pool.... and had a subway in the lobby
- MICHAEL (6/5): - Room was musty. Running vent or a/c clears it up. Some rooms don't have windows. Bed was absolutely awful. I can't say enough how bad the bed was. Staff was nice. Hotel was clean. Overpriced for the quality.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Staff was very friendly! Excellent location too!
- Zacarias (10/5): - Good place to stay
- GARY (2/5): - The staff was the best part. It was downhill from there. Room smelled musty and had a mildew smell. We were close to the pool area but the view from this room was a broken fence and a dumpster area. Also at 3am we had a bang on the door from sheriff’s office looking for someone that was having a domestic dispute. I can’t see myself returning, for any reason. This hotel is good for someone maybe single looking to just be on the island for parties. But the smell of the room was too much to enjoy the island knowing you had to return to your room.
- Stephannie (10/5): - Right in the center of it all
- Darrick (10/5): - The room was clean,staff friendly,and wife was happy..we had a great time.
- Lindsey (10/5): - It was clean and nice
- Peggy (10/5): - The room was very good and the location excellent.
- john (6/5): - This hotel has an exceptional front desk staff….kind, attentive and friendly. Very warm welcome
- Bonnie (2/5): - This place was awful no parking had to park in the alley...room had mold in it said no ice paid $4 for a bag of ice! Never would I recommend this place
- Rebecca (8/5): - A little crowded in the pool on Saturday.
- Christine (10/5): Great mini trip!!! - Great experience! So convenient! Friendly staff!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location is great. Bed was not comfortable at all. Check in not until 5 and the pool closes at 6. Definitely want to stay more than one night.
- Anthony (10/5): - Close to restaurant and entertainment
- Scott (10/5): - It was centrally located and friendly staff.
- Teresa (6/5): - Loved the swimming pool area. The rooms had lots of spiders Webb and the worse was the dumpster was leaking and smelled so bad couldn't sitout on the patio
- Scott (10/5): - Everything was great room staffing location pool only downfall trash compactor smelling really bad and leaking making a mess in the parking lot maybe get a street sweeper and hit it once in awhile
- Desarae (10/5): - Clean
- Cindy (6/5): Bash on the bay - There was plenty of food. The beds are hard. Had people screaming outside our room at 4am one night. Another night a man was blasting music at 3am. Maybe it was better in the newer section, but I won't be staying there again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Yikes - The hotel was bare bones. Not even a box of tissues or a lamp on the nightstand. The beds were stained and as hard as a rock. Other people staying at the hotel were really disruptive. I would not stay here again.
- Edgar (8/5): Please consider this place! - Need better beds! Mattress was not good!! Other than that! It was great! And the cleaning lady was very nice and helpful!
- Debra (2/5): - They allowed non guests to use the facilities and therefore people who paired nearly $280 a night for a very low grade hotel couldn’t even park there or use the amenities.very noisy but it was the fights in the pool and property & the managers negative reaction to our plea for help that turned us from returning there to that resort ever!
- Natalie and Frank (8/5): Decent stay- prefer better beds - 3 night birthday stay.
Beds were extremely uncomfortable which made sight seeing a bit tiresome due to lack of sleep. The maintenance men were awesome and fixed things brought to their attention immediately. However, it took several hours, phone calls and personal visits to the front desk to have the tub unplugged because it wouldn't drain. The front desk person kept saying that they gave information to management but nothing came of it until finally at 11:30 at night my final personal visit to front desk, the maintenance man was there and said that he wasn't aware of anything. He came immediately and snaked the tub drain and fixed it so we could shower without having water to our knees.
Housekeeping did a nice job. Rooms were cleaned daily if you put the sign on door knob.
Pool is only open until 7pm that kinda was kind of a bummer.
We preferred the pool across the parking lot with pirate ship and bigger bar area because service is faster.
Overall, this hotel is perfect for people on budget, young couples, college kids, etc.
We would not stay again due to the beds. But this was only hotel with availability for weekend we wanted due to huge volleyball tournament on island.
- Trent (8/5): - Ok place tostay. If you have younger kids under 21 don't stay here. They will not let them in pool area.
- JAMES (8/5): - No issues, good stay
- Amy (6/5): - The maintenance & cleaning staff were super friendly and attentive to our needs. The front desk staff do not smile and barely speak to you. And, I was charged more than Expedia indicated with no explanation. They didn’t even give me a receipt. The pool bar staff were great.
- Lauren (2/5): - Extremely filthy.
- Shannon (2/5): - subpar
- Jesse (8/5): Great location in the heart of things! - This hotel is in the heart of Put in Bay. My wife and I stayed for two nights and were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The room was a bit small, especially the bathroom, but in decent shape. The main room was in better condition than the bathroom. The bathroom was so small that the door bumped up against the toilet every time you open and closed the door.
The pool was great. Beware...you cannot take your own alcohol and sit by the pool. You must buy their alcohol from their bars at the pool, so if you want to sit at the pool and have some drinks, you'll need to budget for that. Regardless, the pool was a fun spot to hang out!
Be prepared for some noise as this is in a busy area, but noise did not prevent us from getting a good night's sleep.
I would return to this hotel in the future as I think it's a great value.
- Brooke (10/5): - Great stay!
- Deborah (4/5): - Place was dirty and our first room had ants
- Tabitha (2/5): Don’t stay at the Commodore - There was a main hotel building and then there were buildings outside of the main building and they were terrible. Dirty, small, bathroom door couldn’t shut without hitting the toilet. Shower pressure was terrible. TV didn’t work. No phone to call front desk. Asked for more towels from housekeeping and never got them. Only drunk college could would be able to tolerate this room. Only positive is the air conditioner worked great.
- Carrie (10/5): - Clean room
- Beth (6/5): - If you’re young and you’re looking for a fun but very loud place to stay much like a spring break hotel, and this is the place for you. We found someone else’s pill bottle in the drawer and on the last day we found a bag with a half eaten cookie in it behind the nightstand. In spite of all of that, the location was excellent and we did have fun in the town.
- Stefanie (4/5): Not the best but expected - Terrible beds, dirty room, tv broke, no phone to call for help, fridge wasn’t on. Extremely noisy. BUT coming here we knew kind of what to expect, it’s a party place and kept as so.
- Teresa (4/5): Not great - We arrived early and the staff was very polite and got us into our room. Upon arriving the music at the pool/bar was very loud almost too loud to talk. The resort has a Subway located in the lobby and that is all you smell so if you don’t like Subway don’t stay, the Subway light was right outside our window and even with the blind closed it flashed all night long lighting up our room, our room was next to Subway so getting to sleep until after 3AM (when they close) was impossible due to the fact the head of the bed is on the other side of the wall of Subway. Overall experience would never stay here again.
- ariana (4/5): - Racismo y limpieza
- Tiffany (10/5): - Absolutely love how close the walking distance everything was, having the pool right outside The front door was amazing when the weather was good. Room service was so great and was the front desk.
- Tom (6/5): - Aging facility that is difficult to access.
- Kristy (4/5): - Most uncomfortable bed. Room smelled like mildew but ac worked great.
- Cade (5/5): Passable -
- Michael (2/5): - It was terrible the ceiling started leaking in the middle of the night and got all of our stuff wet. They did not offer to move us or even clean the room. We had to ask for extra towels and clean the room ourselves. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and it may be the worst stay we have ever had
- Sandy (2/5): - A dirty pool means workers, and so small area was not like the picture the room was very dirty and bad smell no conditioner TV was broken, and no blow-dry to dry your hair I have to ask for it
- Richard (6/5): - It was as expected, good place to sleep.
- Traveler40412273121 (10/5): Great Resort! - The staff provided excellent service during our stay. The hotel is conveniently connected to Mr. Ed's Bar, on the main strip downtown. Mist, the pool bar was awesome! The music & DJ were on point. The room was slightly small, but it was clean and comfortable. We had a great experience for our first visit at the hotel along with the convenience of having a Subway located in the lobby. We look forward to returning in the future!
- Holly (2/5): No hot water, no help. - Check in was stated for 5:00 PM. I received a call about 4:45 PM asking if I was still coming because they close the lobby at 5:30 and there wouldn’t be anyone to check me in.
I arrived, got to my room and it was freezing. The heat would not work. The refrigerator did not work. There were no ice machines. My shower had no water pressure and no hot water. The hotel was pretty much empty except for myself and one other person, who they placed in the room above mine and I had to deal with them stomping around. Every time I tried to call the front desk, I never got an answer. I still don’t. The room was not clean. The bed wasn’t even made correctly.
- Jenn (10/5): - Clean and friendly dtaff
- Heather (2/5): - This was the worse place I’ve ever stayed it was completely dirty it smelled so bad!! There is no where to eat on site. And the men who checked us in was so scary I made my husband check us in there were wearing hoodies and mask just felt off!! And then they were doing work in the room next to us until 1 am using drills moving furniture we didn’t any sleep I would rather slept in my car!! Never come here!!
- Jessie (10/5): - It was just as we expected. Glad they offer pet rooms since we had our dog with us. That was nice. Other than that, nothing more nothing less.
- Chase (4/5): Disappointing -
- Anne (2/5): - Nothing
- Pankaj (2/5): - Worst place to visit I will recommend people not to book this pathetic property.. right policies no not customer centric..
- Autumn (8/5): - Staff was really great! Location was awesome. I wouldn’t exactly say rooms were resort style - more like super 8.
Booked with intentions of hanging out poolside. It appeared they were in the process of remodeling the pool because it was closed. Right next door is the Islander which offers a public pool. Neither the Commodore’s pool or the Islander’s pool was open
- Jennifer (2/5): - Property was insanely dirty and a dark alley with no lights. Did not seem safe at night. Ran out of toilet paper and the front desk person didn’t even know where it was kept. Do not stay here!!!
- J7587BErobind (4/5): Keep looking somewhere else. - Unless your’e a 21 year old college kid coming only to party and don’t care about room quality, keep looking. We stayed in exterior rooms of the resort. I have no words other than disgusting. It smelled like it hadn’t been opened in months. The toilet was loose and wobbly. There was a hole in the bathroom ceiling. Walking on the floors barefoot was out of the question, as it was so dirty your feet would turn black. I realize they probably get a lot of drunk party-goers, but some cleanliness would go a long way. The ONLY upside is the location. We would have cancelled and moved to another hotel if it were possible. We will not stay here ever again.
- Samantha (5/5): Passable - Close
To everything Kinda out dated and seemed dirty
- Shanell (6/5): - Our stay was okay. Nothing to really brag about. The room could’ve been cleaned better but it was okay. For the price, you get what you pay for.
- Mark (6/5): - Noisy
- Mike (6/5): Surprisingly decent! - Got to say I was surprised about this hotel. It's definitely one of the budget friendly hotels on island. Don't expect too much from it. The location was outstanding. Right on the middle of all the fun. Located next to two pool bars. A subway open late located in the lobby. The hotel is old and run down in parts, however, we did feel it was clean and never thought negatively about it. Just understand it's a budget place. If your comfortable with the minimum and looking for primarily a crash pad. I recommend it.
- Jennifer (6/5): - Great location. The hotel is not very clean.
- Amanda (8/5): - Elevator from 3rd floor needs fixed
- David (4/5): Was a very uncomfortable experience - There was not too much we liked The room was dirty and old. The bed was very uncomfortable. Lots of crazy smells all over. Look to be black mold in the bathroom and room
- Mark (4/5): - Had just bare necessities nothing extra no elevators and way way over priced for what u get wouldn’t recommend it
- Paul (4/5): - The pool is the best part of the Commodore, yet it doesn’t work well for swimming or sunning. The pool is for standing in to cool off while drinking. The room was small and cheaply furnished. Morning free coffee was weak. There’s no place to sit down with friends to talk or play a game. It is a difficult motel to find.
- Craig (2/5): - The worst place I ever stayed. I booked 2 nights but only stayed one because I just could not take the disgusting room I would never recommend this dump
- Tracey (4/5): - The comforter and sheets were dirty
No phones in too
- John (4/5): Yuck - It’s a great location but man it was dirty. Lots of hair on the floor from previous guests, smears of some questionable origin all across the tv, stains on sheets and blankets, bathroom sink was clogged. WAY too expensive for this level of filth.
- Tina (2/5): - Location was great. The young front desk girls were on their phone while you stood at the desk and ignored you. Smoking was allowed all through the pool. Just gross
- Kelly (2/5): - The room was gross! When I pulled the cloth blind it was filthy dirty!
I had to wipe the top of the bed had black dirt on top.
Then the best is that I paid a “resort “ fee for what ? This was a room that entered as a motel. There was a pool but it was a public pool! All these people that stayed else where that Intalked to were using this pool but I paid a “resort “ fee! Never stay here !!
- John (6/5): Not bad- not great - For Put in Bay, it’s not bad. However the room was very damp, the matress was a 4/10 and the rooms were quite loud. Having said that, I’m accustomed to worse on the Island
- shanda (6/5): - its a great time. the floors in the roomare dirty. but other than that we haf a blast
- Quanezia (6/5): - I gave it a 3 star because:
1) When my Significant Other & I checked in, I was told it was for 1 night instead of 3 (the situation was handled correctly the next day)
2) When I initially made the reservation it was for a non smoking room but was given a smoking room.
3) I noticed there were patches of mold painting over.
4) Housekeeping came in our room the next day (Friday) ... although it was an accident, it was the principle.
5) My suggestion is don't sleep in past 10 AM because that's when they play music around the pool area.
I did however enjoy hanging out with our Loved Ones while we were there. So much to see... you're able to go on the cart ride, different restaurants & to me it's a Party Town so don't bring your Children.
- david (4/5): - Toilet wouldn't flush. Stunk of puke. Bed was nasty..
I love the island and stayed many times at other places.,
This by far is the dirtiest place i have ever stayed! Dont get me wrong i know they aren't the fancier places on island.. but this one... stay clear!
- Christopher (10/5): - Very good vibes
Pool very clean bar staff excellent. Party by the pool with the MC was fun.
- Daniel (6/5): Ok - It’s fine. Not great. Not terrible. Would not stay here with family but fine for an adults drinking weekend.
- Brittany (4/5): - If i could send pics that would be great the room was dirty
- bradley (4/5): - We were on 3rd floor elevator did not work going down. Hallways always had something spelled in them you had to walk around. Rooms blank slate but holes in wall. None of vending machines worked on floor. One young man was nice but no one knew where things were around town. Entrance in alley behind stinky dumpsters. Signs for “resort” were poor locations. Pool was very nice but open to all made very crowded. Bed were clean but pillows hard and bed looked like tool always. Not what we expected.
- Kimberly (8/5): - Great stay
- Casey (1/5): Terrible - I did not stay at the property. I was told someone would contact me and that I would not charge. Everything. Didn’t have my reservations correct. My room was not cleaned.
- Raeniesha (2/5): - Very dirty and staff was rude
- H (10/5): I always love the stay and come every year - Central location and has subway for drunk nights The pillows and pillow cases should be cleaned more. I woke up from a drunk night and my eye was blood shot from being in the pillow.
- Diane (8/5): - It was located within walking distance to everything.
- Sherri (4/5): - This resort is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It was nasty and I felt disgusted being in there. It is definitely a party hotel. Please look for another room.
- Richard (10/5): - First time staying at this hotel, staff was friendly and attentive to any needs. It was close to all the entertainment.
- Wayne (2/5): Worst hotel ever stayed in - This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at on Put in Bay. The refrigerator didn’t work. There was a pile of food behind the dresser, cob webs visibly present on the walls and the mattress was horrible.
