• Tom (9/5): Modern and comfortable hotel with view on the lagoon - Large bed, comfortable room with A/C, seating area, modern bathroom. Our room had a balcony with comfy seats and a table, overlooking the laguna. Excellent breakfast served and also breakfast box available on request. Hot water in the shower can sometimes take a few minutes.

• Inga (10/5): A lovely stay with a great location near the beach, friendly and helpful staff, clean comfortable rooms, and a peaceful - The location was very good — close to a beautiful beach, nice restaurants, the town centre, and other beaches within walking distance. Our room had a lovely view over a pond with flamingos, and it was beautifully decorated for our anniversary. The staff were very friendly, communicative, and always ready to help with any questions or requests. They helped us organise tours, laundry service, bicycle rental, and also assisted with online payment without charging an extra card fee, which is often common in the country. The room was clean and comfortable, with a large bed, air conditioning, and mosquito screens on the windows. Drinking water coolers were available in the corridors, which was very convenient. The hotel also had a small pool with a shower nearby. The hotel does not have a sea view and is not directly on the beachfront, which may be important for some guests. However, the area was quiet, and overall we had a very pleasant stay.

• Stanislav (10/5): Amazing hospitality and care – highly recommended! - We were a group of 5 and were deeply impressed by the hospitality at Hotel La Laguna. They surprised us with a complimentary shuttle from the pier upon arrival and even took us back the next day. A special thanks to Emanuel for being so kind and professional. After a difficult road accident we had experienced earlier, he allowed us a late check-out, which was much needed. While two of us did the Sierra Negra trekking, the rest of the group could rest according to medical advice. The staff was incredibly caring and the service was 10/10. Thank you for making a tough situation so much better!

Además, la cama era demasiado cómoda así que el descanso era profundo, lo que se valora principalmente después de un día con tantas actividades. El uso de la tinaja es muy recomendable y le da un plus al hotel. La televisión era smartv y podíamos ver películas. Por último, pero no menos importante, el staff fue muy amable con sus recomendaciones y atenciones, sobre todo Emmanuel, quien nos permitió hacer el checkout late para aprovechar la mañana en la playa. La ubicación increíble. Una de las lámparas de noche de la habitación no se prendía y el aire acondicionado nos falló en un momento, pero lo resolvieron de inmediato.

El desayuno estuvo bien y la ubicación es excelente, justo al frente de los flamingos, a un paso de la playa y cerca de todo. El personal fue muy amable y atento. Nuestra lancha de regreso a Santa Cruz salía a las 3pm, nos guardaron el equipaje y nos dejaron seguir utilizando las instalaciones del hotel hasta que nos fuimos. Incluso me habilitaron el jacuzzi de la azotea con vistas hermosas. No pudimos usar la piscina porque estuvo en mantenimiento durante toda nuestra estadía.

Wir hatten erst ein Zimmer im Erdgeschoss, das war sauber, aber mit Fenster zum Treppenaufgang. Die Zimmer in höheren Stockwerken sind besser. Der Pool ist im Prinzip nicht nutzbar. Da die Straßen voller Sand sind wird dieser auch gerne in das Hotel getragen; d.h. dass die Aufgänge schnell voller Sand sind und die Zimmer dann ebenfalls. Wie so oft in Ecuador sind kaum Haken für Handtücher vorhanden.

• Keren (10/5): - We stayed at Hotel La Laguna for three nights. We loved our stay here. The hotel is located in a great area. The hotel is across a beautiful pond with pink flamingos. Very beautiful in the early morning and sunset. The hotel has a small pool you can chill out in. The breakfast was really good and there is a free tea and coffee stand 24/7. The team that works here is great. At the reception there is an amazing young man named Emmanuel Rocafuerte. He is the best asset here. Emmanuel is patient, always smiling, willing to help on every request and question. He helped us book an attraction to tentoneras, a ferry, a taxi and helped with recommendations. He is here all the time and one can see that besides his sociable nature he is very professional and takes his job seriously. But most of all he works with his big heart and everything is done with a smile, patience and in a pleasant way.

We were 2 in the room and they never brought the right number of towels.either 2 large and 1 small or 2 small and one large. Had to wait before getting the missing ones. One evening it was literally pouring outside and electricity went off and our room got flashed as water came in. I requested to talk to the owner who initially did not want to speak English, so I talked in Spanish.eventually when he heard about the inundated in our room, he started providing solution: change our room, provide a free taxi to grab some dinner as there was electricity 2 blocks away and the ended by even bring us our clean laundry, which they initially refused to do. Better get yourself another place as the attitude was everything but service

• BeenThere01 (10/5): Great for the tip floor king rooms facing the lake. - If you’re booking a king room with balcony with lake view on the top floor it’s definitely worth it!!! Other rooms, not so sure has there seems to be lots of similar and good options in town. Town is tiny. Most accommodations are brief walk away from everything. We spent hours looking at the ducks and flamingos (12 of them we were there) from our windows and/or balcony. Note that if it’s sunny, forget the balcony. It faces west and it’s extremely hot. The views to the flamingo pond and the volcanoes was very much appreciated and beautiful. Only 3 minutes from the beach and shops and restaurants. Breakfast was fair/not buffet style but you got a plate of fruit, toast, eggs to order with ham and cheese slice, juice and coffee-tea. Note….pool is in order (wasn’t when we were there) but if you’re booking this hotel because of the hot tubs on the roof..all 3 were empty and out of order when we were there. Would we stay again? Yes but only on the top floor king room with balcony.

• paul (10/5): Wonderful property and location - Great hotel with nice facilities. Pool is nice and functional with a big sun deck and lots of lounge chairs. Nice view of the flamingos in the lagoon. Awesome breakfast with fresh fruits, breads, juices and eggs cooked to order. Amanuel was great and booked tours for us that were fantastic! Also cheaper than the tour brokers all around. Room was spacious and clean. Beach was a block away. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend! Front desk wasn’t always staffed.

The attentive manager who always responded to requests with a smike😁. The modern, clean rooms. The sparkling pool to refresh in after exploring Isabela.And.. the best rooftop spa! There waa an unfortunate breakfast mishap involving a cockroach. This was rectified immediately but we think the kitchen assistant perhaps needs to be a bit more vigilant. Not the chef-he was excellent.

• 621maxines (2/5): Tour cancelled hours before - We booked a tour through their tour services months in advance. The day before the tour- they cancelled on us. The tour guide claimed " National Park Policy" . But our boat still left the dock and other tours went out that day as well. Because we already had other hotels, ferries, and other tours booked- we could not reschedule. It was very disappointing and upsetting because we traveled a long distance to be able to experience things on Isabella Island.

• Meredith (5/5): I can’t believe others gave this positive reviews! - I do not understand all of the positive reviews on this place!! The location of the hotel was fairly convenient to the beach, restaurants, etc. They also offered laundry services which was helpful and not expensive. The pool is very small but clean. The AC units were functional. Those are really the only positive things I can report. First off, the hotel stated that they would help us get a ferry from Santa Cruz to Isabella. They did not send me the tickets until one hour before the ferry. I was contacting them repeatedly through Booking.com and via WhatsApp. After several days of me, attempting to reach out, they finally responded. When they did send the ferry tickets, they sent them for the wrong date. Fortunately, I realize this in time and they were able to rectify it before the ferry departed. The walk to the hotel from the airport is long and mostly on dirt roads. I recommend a taxi if you have a lot of luggage. The rooms we booked appeared clean but if you walk around the room barefoot, your feet will be filthy instantly. They do not supply any shampoo or conditioner and there is no mini fridge in the room. You have to use a shared refrigerator if you had anything you wanted to remain cold. The fresh water jug in the hall was empty several times and it took a while for them to replace it. Our biggest complaint was the rooftop hot tubs. If you want to use them, you can only do so from 10a to 6pm. You must give staff 40 minute notice so they can fill it and heat it. We asked staff every day for three days straight to fill the hot tub (giving them 40 minute notice) and the NEVER filled the tubs for us. It was incredibly aggravating. Many other reviews were negative about the breakfast which surprised me. Breakfast was a typical continental breakfast you’d see at a basic hotel and it was perfectly fine. The pond with flamingos across the street was not terribly smelly which I thought might be worse given the stagnant water.

It was only via a booking .com communication that he returned the money. My advice to ALL guests is to check that the room you think you have booked is correct BEFORE you pay

• Guest (8/5): - The bed was big and comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the room comes with a small balcony. There is free breakfast, eggs made to order, and both the reception staff were very helpful. There is an internet was actually quite good in room 9. If the bathrooms were to be redesigned in the future, I would suggest adding hooks to hang towels (there were none), installing a door or lip to prevent water from flooding the floor, and choose a different sink that allows you to better position yourself to wash your face.
• Hottex (9/5): Herrlich gelegen und sehr zu empfehlen - Wir haben uns in diesem komfortablen und sauberen Appartement sehr wohl gefühlt und haben dabei ein sehr gutes WLAN und den schönen Balkon mit Blick auf die Flamingos genossen. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung und auf jeder Etage stand ständig gefiltertes Wasser zur Verfügung. Unsere Gastgeber Giancarlo und Emanuel waren stets freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit.

• Kim (10/5): A warm, friendly hotel with nice amenities. - I was looking for a hotel with some extra amenities (like a pool), but didn't want to break the bank. This hotel is a real find! It was just 2 blocks from the beach, right across from the flamingos - which was a great location. My room was good sized and had a fridge, AC, and an ample closet area to unpack. The hotel offers a nice breakfast and plenty of common spaces to relax. The pool is small, but clean and well-maintained. The jacuzzi on the roof, overlooking the whole area, was an amazing surprise! But, the best part is the staff. Plenty of hotels have nice staff, but Emmanuel and Gian really bent over backwards to make sure I had a wonderful stay. I ended up booking a tour with them and it was terrific, as well, exactly as promised. nothing
• Ledy Segura (10/5): El mejor hotel de la isla, relación calidad - precio - Mi experiencia en este hotel fue verdaderamente excelente desde el primer momento. La atención del personal (Emmanuel y Gian) destaca por su amabilidad al 100 %, siempre dispuestos a ayudar y a asegurarse de que cada detalle de la estadía sea perfecto. Esa calidez humana marca una gran diferencia y hace que el huésped se sienta realmente bienvenido. Las habitaciones son muy limpias, ordenadas y con todo lo necesario para una estancia cómoda y relajante. Además, la ubicación es inmejorable. El desayuno también merece una mención especial. Variado, delicioso y preparado con buena calidad. En general, es un hotel que combina comodidad, buena atención y una ubicación privilegiada. Lo recomiendo totalmente, tanto para viajes en pareja, familia o descanso personal. Sin duda, regresaría sin pensarlo dos veces.

• Sebastian (10/5): Tolle Unterkunft auf Isabela - Unser Aufenthalt im Hotel hätte besser nicht sein können. Einen großen Teil hierzu haben die zwei Rezeptionisten Carlos und Emanuel beigetragen. Sie haben sich großartig um alle unsere Bedürfnisse gekümmert und unseren Aufenthalt auf Isabela absolut einzigartig gemacht! Die Zimmer waren sauber und sehr geräumig. Im Bad gab es einen Fön mit Lockenaufsatz über den sich meine Frau sehr gefreut hat und auf dem Fernseher war Netflix verfügbar. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und reichhaltig. Ein besonderes Highlight waren die Whirlpools auf dem Dach von denen man einen wunderbaren Blick auf die Lagune und die Flamingos hat. Sollten wir es irgendwann noch einmal nach Isabela schaffen werden wir definitiv wieder hier wohnen! Unser erstes Zimmer hatte leider nur ein Fenster in den Flur. Auf Anfrage durften wir dann aber gleich in ein Zimmer mit schönerer Aussicht umziehen.

• Markus (9/5): Tolles Hotel mit im Ort neben den Flamingos! - Ich schätzte die Lage des Hotels, da es genau neben der Lagune mit den Flamingis war. Das Zimmer war sehr modern, sauber und bequem! Personal war zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war einfach aber ausreichend.

• Alex (10/5): Best place in Isabella - Excellent overall, good location close to town centre and restaurants/pharmacies/markets. We could see flamingos from the balcony which was magical. The room was huge, the bathroom spacious, the balcony excellent. Big enormous bed with comfortable mattress. There was a fridge as well. AC unit working well. Shades on all windows. Quiet and relaxed. Staff were very friendly and happy to help. Breakfast was more diverse than in other places and bigger (you could refill your plate if you wanted). They had a pool on the ground floor and jacuzzi on the roof. They also offered washing of clothes (at extra cost). There was also filtered water available on each floor. Nothing, everything was exceptional.

• Duncan (9/5): Brilliant hotel by the flamingo lagoon - highly recommended - I would have given the hotel (a rare) 10 if it werent for the breakfast... Brilliant service: We booked the ferry through the hotel/tour operator and we were pleasantly surprised to find a meet and greet and transfer from the port, early room check in provided at 9.30am (on arrival) and late check out at 2pm for departure for the return ferry. Brilliant service and that made a huge difference to our comfort and relaxation during our stay so THANK YOU Hotel La Laguna! Also thanks to the staff for unblocking our toilet with minimum fuss one evening. The room was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. We loved the views over the flamingo lagoon and out to the sea from the jacuzzi on the roof - such a relaxed place but just 2 blocks away from the main square. Breakfast was poor - very limited options, disinterested staff. The breakfast tables were not cleared away timely after use so the area was messy.

• Giulia (10/5): Highly recommended! - We had a great stay at La Laguna. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we suggest you book all daily tours with them, much easier and even cheaper. Rooms are big, bed comfortable, shower has a good pressure and hot water. The best part was to book the Jacuzzi on the rooftop after a long day. I would def recommend it I would add a small clothes rack on the balcony
• Antonio (9/5): Buen hotel para visitar Isabela - El hotel está bien ubicado, la habitación es amplia, con una cama muy grande y cómoda. Tenía un balcón muy agradable. El baño está bien, aunque el agua de la ducha no salía caliente. El desayuno no es muy variado, pero no está mal. El personal ha sido muy atento, incluso nos permitieron tener la habitación hasta la hora de nuestro vuelo, sin coste. Así, cuando regresamos de un tour que hicimos el ultimo día, pudimos ducharnos y cambiarnos de ropa en la habitación. Sólo comentar que el agua de la ducha salía muy fría cada mañana.
