Guest Reviews
- Jeanie (6/5): - This is a older motel but it was clean thats all I can say. I wont stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - very nice
- Selena (8/5): - Great 2 night stay
- Tana (8/5): - Nice older hotel.
- Peter (10/5): - Quick and easy
- William V (10/5): - Good for the price. Friendly. Ground floor. Handy cap friendly room available... 104. Clean and comfortable.
- donald (6/5): - Lamps on each side of bed falling off wall. Toilet connected to toilet improperly. Tv quit working after leaving & front desk didn't know how to resolve issue
- Betty (6/5): - I would take this off the list. In poor condition.
- Raman (10/5): - We had a short stay but pur room was nice and clean, Mr. Patel was very nice & helpful.
- Annegret (6/5): - I needed a room for a night because my electricity was out. It was the only facility in my area.
The internet was very spotty.
There were no convenient electrical outlets to be able to plug in my Bi-Pap machine.
I had to relocate a table and chat to be able to plug in my cellphone and charge it.
The coffee pot worked perfectly, but the coffee packs made one cup and the coffee pot held 5 cups.
- Diane (8/5): - Ground floor rooms
- Cindy (6/5): - I booked through Expedia which says I was saving 10 percent; but my sister in law came without reservation and her room was $10 cheaper than my room.
- Jodi (10/5): - Exceptable for my short stay
- Ricardo (6/5): - I liked the town, because stores and restaurants were within walking distance.
- Mark (8/5): - Quick and easy check in.
- Kenny (8/5): Dated but a decent place to stay. - Overall clean hotel, but they still have the same beds and mattresses and furniture from 20 years ago when it was a best western don't mention anything about it used to be a best western to the dude checking you in because he will have a conniption fit and go off on you. Even though the room phones still say best western.
- Lucrecia (2/5): - Staff rude sux
- Terri (4/5): - The hate i felt what checking in was palpable.
- Honey (2/5): - Property is not in a safe neighborhood. Bikers next door were noisy and made us nervous. AC would not cool below 82 when we returned to the room around 10pm. Nobody available to ask for help or a different room. We just packed up and drove 2 hours to go back home.
- Diane (6/5): Meh overnight stay - It was sewer stinky from the bathroom but the toilet was clean and no visible issues. We had to keep the bathroom door shut and we didn't even use the shower because we wouldn't been able to handle the smell.
The beds were clean and comfortable. The room was clean.
- Tommy (8/5): - Had to change rooms, the first one smelled like sewage. The second room wasn’t as bad but still smelled. There was not enough plug ins for even the microwave. The pool was unusable.
- Julia (10/5): - Very nice place to stay
- Salena (8/5): - Coffee in room was already opened , only 2 available plugs and in wierd places. Room had a microwave that wasnt plugged and and wasnt even able to plug in due to cord being too short to reach any plug. Im guessing it might have been plugged into an extension cord at one point , but wasnt one when i stayed there. Friendly front desk , nice and quiet
- Cynthia (10/5): - the staff were very nice, & informative. rooms were very clean.
- Ross (10/5): Surprisingly Good - It was near Cedar Creek for a Birthday Party. It was all you needed for one night.
Bathroom a little dated but overall surprisingly okay.
- Johnetta (2/5): - Overcharged for the room at check in. I didn't like the first room. It smelled like a sewer. I couldn't believe they even rented that room. They did move us to a room that didn't stink but the whole property was dirty and gross.
- Betty (10/5): - The first room they put us in had a bad smell so I asked to be moved and we were moved to another room.
- Joseph (10/5): - Very well maintained property rooms are clean and well kept. Management is very helpful and polite
- Truman (10/5): - Property was clean. Air conditioner worked well. Plenty of hot water. Bed was good. I would be happy to stay there again.
- David (4/5): Wiln not be staying again - The room was suppose to be a smoking room. Was rold non where available even though i had reserved one in advance. The air conditioner barely cooled off the room to around 80 degrees. Didn't have a coffee pot and no complimentary breakfast. No extra towels were provided
- Elaine (2/5): - The place was beyond Filthy the place smelled of sewage when confronting management they screamed at us and said it was surrounded by a lake what did we expect I have pictures to prove the filth of the room
- Steven (6/5): Awful!!! - Worst experience ever. They did not have the room we were supposed to get, only smoking room. The extremely rude manager offered a room with a pull-out bed for my kids. The pull-out bed had not sheets and the manager would not give us sheets. Then the toilet was off and when we turned it on it was leaking. My wife asked for another room and again the rude manager offered a smoking room with two beds. We took it and it was awful. My 16 year old son went to ask for towels and again the manager was rude to him. Avoid this place at all cost. Hotels.com should remove them!!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good stay - The Motel and grounds were very clean.. bed could have been a bit more soft but thats just my comfort, my husband slept well.
- Susan (2/5): - Room was old, run down and dirty. Bed spread was stained and had cigarette burns in it. Mold in the bathroom. Horrible.
- John (2/5): - My foot went through the bathtub and they never answered the phone or came to the front desk. I have to have back surgery already and that put me in more pain tban im already in
- gordon (4/5): - False advertising. There was no breakfast, no working laundry. Heavy dust on laundry machines, which were in same room with ice machine. Poorly draining bathtub, filled up during shower. Very poor value for the money. We cannot recommend this property.
- Juan (8/5): - Basic services and prompt registration were good. Although I understand that current covid conditions make it tough to provide some motel services, there was no breakfast provided even though it stated on the website that breakfast would be provided. No mention or explanation about breakfast were provided at check in time.
- Helen (8/5): - It was fine.
- carlos (4/5): - Night clerk had no record of my reservation. the room was clean & acceptable, BUT, No electrical plug by the bed for a phone charger or c-pap machine. hair dryer & coffee pot did not work. tried to reset the outlets to no avail. Coffee pot & hair dryer were minor inconveniences, Lack of an outlet for my C-pap machine was major.
- Michael R (2/5): - Nothing
- Roderick (6/5): - There was no cable tv in the room, there was a Roku device but no instructions on how to use it. The shower stem was not adjustable the tub was filling with water while I showered. Other than the room was clean but plain.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Clean and peaceful
- Roxanne (2/5): - I didn't like anything about the hotel. There were roaches and burn holes everywhere! The toilet didn't flush very well and the shower had absolutely no pressure and was barely coming out of the faucet!
- Patricia (6/5): - Took forever for the guy to answer the bell for check-in. And he wasnt happy either.
- kathryn (8/5): - tub drained very slowly, air conditioner was difficult to operate burn hole in bed spread. web site said breakfast none provided
- DAN (10/5): - NICE MGMT
- Steffanie (6/5): - The hotel was dirty and needed a bunch of touch up work and a new cleaning crew. Example the shower curtain had mildew all along the bottom. Bed sheets had some cigarette burn holes in it. The laundry room where the ice maker is was very nasty and dirty
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Property was okay, it was the partying neighbors on each side of our room that kept us awake most of the night, one of them accidently knocked on our room door by mistake at 1 oclock in the morning
- Verified traveler (2/5): Horrible - This was a horrible experience, when we got to the front desk they were so rude to us. Also the pool was not clean it was very dirty Like it has been cleaned in a while. This place is not friendly for any family, couples, or even someone that just wants to go on vacation by themselves. They would not fix anything in the room without having an attitude about it. Overall worst experience of mine and my wife’s life.
- Howard (4/5): Probably wont stay again - Hotel was dirty and smelled funny. Sheets had stains and hair still in the bed.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Trash
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Right in town. Easy access to shopping & restaurants. The pool was very clean and refreshing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice to be in a small town. Housekeeping saw me outside my door, stopped and told me if I needed anything, let her know. That seems like 4 star service at a 2 star ranked motel. I will stay there next visit.
- Joy (10/5): Short stay - The room was comfortable. We wanted extra coffee and the owner gave it to me, no problem. It was short stay but I would stop in again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Staff was a bit rude.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Could not stay here. “Nonsmoking” room reeked of cigarette smoke, to which I am highly allergic. My asthma flared up the minute I walked in. Had to leave.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Plenty of parking, clean rooms nice clean pool
Friendly staff
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This property smells heavily of smoke. We had to switch rooms. The key cards were reused and dirty. We did not feel safe staying at this hotel and ended up
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disgusting - The room smelled, the floors were not vacuumed, toilet paper had not been changed from previous tenant, there was no breakfast although the website said there would be and loud music next door until midnight. The next door guests told us they weren't staying because they found bedbugs. Our friends who stayed in another room bought a blanket at WalMart because theirs was dirty. Gross stay, no choice as all the other hotels were full. We won't stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - .
- Johnna (6/5): - The hotel did not look like the pictures! It needs some updates and wasn’t the cleanest place I’ve stayed in.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Bad customer service
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Easy and proper check in, good to stay over the night and hit the road again (although you can hear street noice outside your room)
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Room smelled like sewer went to office they sent someone to look at it they said it was just sewer gases and went to Walmart to by plug in air freshener. Room had no toilet tissue had to go to office and pick up some.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice pool, but too cold to swim. Clean except the shower curtain was moldy.
Friendly owners.
No breakfast was offered because of covid.
- Vicky (8/5): - Room was clean. Vthe area was very quiet. There was 2 of us so we had to ask for toilet paper . Also was supposed to have continental breakfast but the doors were locked.
- Hope (2/5): - Website said pet friendly. They were not. We drove 4 1/2 hrs for our sons homecoming football game. And the manager was screaming and yelling because he was not going to honor what the website said. Will not ever recommend this hotel. Did not stay there will never stay there!!!!
- Shonda (4/5): - The picture of the hotel was not what we got the rooms were ok some of my family members had bed bugs do that not something I would recommend to stay in
- Steven (8/5): hurricane laura evacuees - We evacuated for hurricane Laura so after a long 5 hour drive we arrived late and tired with 4 children and a dog all we wanted was to get to room and use bathroom relax and go to sleep! The guy fussed at daughter in law like she was a child about her e cigarette all he had to do was tell her not to use it in the room she is an adult! The coke machine was not working correctly and he came out and was fussing at me as I was a child I am in my sixties and don’t need to be talked to like that! Besides that rooms and beds were comfortable! The grandkids enjoyed the pool!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Rude front desk clerk-man - Beds and pillows were comfortable and Ac keep things very nice. On surface things were clean but don’t look too close.
The gentleman at front desk was very rude and inconsiderate. We had left our home due to Hurricane Laura and cancelled our third night (24-26 hours notice) since there was no
flooding. The morning we were to check out lights/ electricity had not been restored so requested to stay another night and was told No .... he was very rude!
- Jennifer (2/5): dump of epic proportions. - Evacuated due to hurricane Laura. When I booked, the website said let’s allowed... big sign in the lobby... no pets! I ended up giving the guy a handful of cash to let us stay anyway. Then they tried to put us in a smoking room when I booked non smoking. VERY rude about moving us to non smoking. The room was absolutely disgusting. Stains on the bed coverings, carpet, and walls. Dirty tub and bathroom floor. Roaches. Truly a nightmare.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property was in an ideal location, it was close to all the restaurants & shopping areas. The only downside was my room had bed bugs, and they were completely book up, so I was not able to change rooms. They did offer me a full refund.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bedbugs - Bedbugs
- Ericka (4/5): - The room smelled horrible the bathtub was dirty
- Steven (4/5): - Wifi did not work at all, manager was unpleasant but rest of staff was good. Will not stay hear again.
- Mm (6/5): - The room itself wasn’t clean. The sheets and towels were.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Our room smelled like cat pee. Won’t be returning.
- Shaun (2/5): - Put in a smoking room. Smoked a cigarette and the alarm went off. Owners came down at 11pm yelling and screaming after i informed them my kids were trying to sleep they made me keep the door open for 15 minutes and said if we smoked anything else we would be kicked out
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The property is fine for the cheap rate. It is what you expect, a good place for fisherman and workers in town looking for just a place to crash. The woman that checked me in was confused on my reservation. Even though she had a print out showing I had a two bed room she insisted the rate I paid was incorrect and made me pay an additional $10 to "upgrade" from a 1 bed room to a 2 bed room. I won't go back. There are other options in the area to use in the future.
- Verified traveler (6/5): It worked for one night but staff was rude - When I called to book a room that was part of a block for an event, the woman who answered the phone just said “we’re booked” over and over. I booked thru hotels.com and paid slightly more than the event’s rate. The room was clean but there was an unusual odor we couldn’t identify.
- Susan (4/5): - They where friendly, but the beds are dangerous. There is a metal bar sticking out on both sides of the bed. Both me and my husband have bruises where we ran into them. There where cigarette butts and ashes on the floor. Specifically requested to rooms non smoking and only one was. They did clean the room and didn’t vacuum the ashes and put in air fresheners to help with smell. So unless it’s a absolute
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The overall hotel and stagg waa amas8ng but the towels are a little threadbare.
- Bradley (8/5): - it was fun, but totally could do something different about the bathroom light
- Marietta (6/5): Mediocre - Room had a funky smell and only one roll of toilet paper was left at a time. It wasn’t awful but it wasn’t great either.
- Vicky (8/5): - Very nice people but not worth what we paid to high
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I booked this place mostly because of the pool pic, then reviews. The pool pic is VERY MISLEADING, and is very small. Almost a kiddie pool. No trees or umbrellas either for any shade.
- Phillip (6/5): One time - No shower curtain in room
A/c filters dirty restricting air flow
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Our stay was pleasant and cozy. The hotel was clean and the attendants were courteous and professional.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quiet and no problems with other tentants. No criminal activity.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The tv wouldnt turn down. They were nice eniugh to have a coffee put in your room with coffee, suger and cream. BUT NO FILTER .
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room smelled, chairs very old and dirty. Bed was old and broke down
- Joy (8/5): - We had tv issues but they were quick to fix the problem. The staff was nice and the room was clean.
- Crystal (2/5): Bedbugs - Bed bugs ... checked in 30 min later left ....hopefully I don’t transfer any home... 😡
- Crystal (2/5): Room 128 wouldn’t recommend! - Gross. Nasty. Waist of $77 ... that is not a breakfast!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Gun Barrel City TX Executive Inn Review - It was fine just to crash at. Some mustiness when first in room. Definitely could use upgrade especially the bathroom. Manager was friendly and accommodating.
- Lee (10/5): - We stayed here in June of 2015or 2016 and it was great so when me and my wife had to go back to Gun barrel for a funeral this past weekend there was no doubt where we was going to stay we will continue to stay there as long as they are open keep up the good work
- Kerry (6/5): Okay Hotel - This hotel was just okay. It looked uninviting from the road, but the room was actually pretty good. The only negative thing about it was that the door to the bathroom was broken (it looked like someone had kicked it). When I went to check out in the morning, the office was locked and there was no one around, but I just stuck my keycard in the night slot. Hopefully, that was okay.
- Martha (6/5): Don’t count on a good breakfast - It was an ok place to stay for a night. The breakfast was beyond disappointing.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Eh - Quiet motel. Fine for what we needed (sleep) for 1 night.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Comfortable, but lacking information - The room was very nice, comfortable and roomy. However, they was no information sheet/booklet letting you know where ice was located, etc. Continental breakfast is mostly starch/sugar.
