- Jiya (10/5): A wonderful romantic getaway! - The food is amazing! The Inn is a ways away from the cute Berkshires town centers but its worth it for eating a meal at the restaurant and hiking trails around the area. There weren't a lot of staff on site during the day but they were reachable by phone and all our requests got handled.
- Mary (10/5): Fabulous stay in the Berkshires - Wonderful 19th century inn! We had a spacious corner room with pullout sofa. We enjoyed sitting out on the beautiful balcony. Comfortable, relaxing, quiet stay. As long as you are not expecting a modern, chain-brand property, and have a car, you will enjoy this place! Note, The Old Inn is almost 2 miles from the delicious breakfast spot and about a 16 minute drive to Great Barrington, which is the closest town. There is no lobby or front desk (or tv or coffee maker, etc in room) as one would find in a typical hotel. So if you are looking to wake up and grab a coffee in the lobby or walk across the street to a coffee shop, you’ll need to rethink your game plan. That said, this was a fabulous, relaxing stay in the countryside. Really enjoyed.

We were in room 206 with a great back door onto a patio overlooking the pool. We were in town so my wife could be an exhibitor at the Berkshires Art Festival. The included breakfast was incredible! But so you know it was about a mile down the road at the Southfield Store. No coffee available at the Inn. Also no refrigerator in room. Both of these issues were not a problem, just want to let you know!

- HELEN (10/5): - There is a high-end restaurant at the Inn that has wonderful food. Delicious breakfasts (and Sunday Brunch) down the road at The Southfield Store were included. You can take a lovely back road walk past a beaver pond that starts from the parking lot. Employees were friendly and helpful. Multiple other protected area hikes in the neighborhood. We felt we lucked out picking this place.

Exquisite dishes of finely roasted, richly-flavored choice meats in velvety sauces takes you back to the days when hunters supplied the village of New Marlborough with game. Fresh fish and seafood delicacies from New England’s fabled coastal fishing fleet are transformed into succulent briny ocean masterpieces that would rival any Michelin-starred restaurant in New York or Paris. The inn offers authentic 18th-century coach house accommodations that further immerse guests in the past. - Maryjo (6/5): Creaky old inn, great restaurant - The restaurant had a prix fixe three-course dinner, I thought expensive at $85, but the gourmet food was absolutely superb and worth it. Service was excellent. The bed and couch were very old and creaky. The shower was entirely of very old wood, and the stairs up to the second floor were extremely steep--which is typical of old houses, but people with mobility issues shouldn't attempt it.

Southfield Store employees were lovely and friendly, good food! -For all my complaints, the room itself was fine, comfortable, and I did enjoy the access to the upper porch. The process to check in/get support from staff just needs structure for guests. -I stayed in the inn/restaurant building--I was really thrown off by the lack of a front desk/separation from the dining part of the business. (ex: I could hear forks and knives and plates being shuffled around from my bathroom). I'm also not sure how nighttime guest access works--do they just not lock the front door? There isn't a guest "key" specifically for that door. Again, another mystery. -No stated method of checking out--in the end, I just left and hoped that was the right move. There is no staff in the inn in the mornings, at the very least. Having the process (or that there is no process!) listed on their website (Booking.com or otherwise) would be a helpful resource. -The lack of dedicated front desk services prevented me from being able to ask for recommendations in the area for dinner (the restaurant's dinners are $85 three-course). I ended up driving back to the town I was visiting to get dinner, about 20 min away. Beautiful area, but not much around. -The wifi was pretty terrible--cutting in and out. It's unsecured, so a bit of a data security risk. Honestly, this would have made the stay much better, as I would have been able to actually access the Inn's website consistently and answer some of my own questions.

After initial meeting the staff was helpful and friendly. Although furniture kept with the period of the house nicely, the mattresses were older and not super comfortable the couch was worn,etc. it would be good for them to put on their website that if you are staying there you need to make a reservation for dinner if you want to eat there. It was fine for us, and lovely because historic and charming, but if you are challenged with mobility it would not be a good place to stay as stairs were steep and floors were not level.

I had a lovely front facing room with huge balcony, sitting room and full bath.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Weekend away - We had a wonderful weekend stay at Old Inn on the Green. The room and bathroom were a bit small but perfectly fine for two people. We really felt like we were staying in an old inn, though that did mean we could hear everything going on in other parts of the house. But as long as you’re not planning to go to bed early it’s fine. The restaurant is amazing and the decor is beautiful. Loved that breakfast was included at the cafe down the road. Will definitely return!

There was a fireplace in our room a claw tub, making it a cozy winter weekend getaway for us. The staff was helpful and accommodating, and we had the most amazing dinner at their on-site 4 star restaurant. Breakfast was free, and due to COVID they sent us to a delicious cafe down the road to eat instead of eating at the on-site restaurant. We definitely want to go back, this time in the summer to see all the beauty that the Berkshires offer in a different season.

It would have been fine, however because of COVID 19, they only allowed outdoor dining. It was raining and no table open under the porch. We had to eat in our car. instead of nice china, I ate my yogurt with a plastic fork. We really missed being at the Inn. Sorry

- Laurie (10/5): A perfect stay. Wouldn’t change a thing! - Awesome stay! Wonderful antique inn. Roomy, comfortable, quaint. Despite covid safety measures, still a fabulous stay. Can’t wait to go back in the fall. Our room had a “common” living room with a working FP (but no one else used it), our room, roomy bath and private outside deck. Dinner (included) with several choices - appetizer, entree, dessert. Great bread and small house appetizers in addition. Menu is thoughtful - for example, vegetarian, beef, fish (2), lamb, chicken dishes. I had the fresh corn risotto and salmon with green curry sauce, lemon poppyseed strawberry shortcake. My sister had the risotto, sirloin & short rib entree and the flourless chocolate cake. Everything was delicious and service was terrific, in a spacious tent outdoors. Touch lights, netting to keep out the insects. Very nice. Great night sleep and a super breakfast (also included) at a nearby cafe (also owned by the inn). Choices of eggs, fruit, French toast, bacon, yogurt and granola. Great place to pick up a sandwich for a day hiking or site seeing. Really - flawless stay, except that phone signal in the Berkshires is spotty. Bring a paper map for back up!

But our suite was beautiful - bedroom, sitting room and bath. The breakfast was incredibly delicious. It is not in Great Barrington as listed but is out in the country about a 20 minute drive.

And the room was terrific: spacious, elegant, nicely appointed with high end furnishings, giant new claw foot tub, etc., etc. All in a beautifully restored 18th century home. Magnificent.

- Priscilla (10/5): Lovely Inn and Great restaurant. - This is a lovely old inn in a very quiet little town about a 1/2 hour south of Stockbridge. The only issue was the stairs - extremely steep and each step was at least 1.5 times taller than regular stairs. There are no TV's - which was fine with us. We also had dinner at the inn which was absolutely exquisite! We would go out of our way to eat here again.
- Kathleen (8/5): - The food was absolutely amazing and the ambience of the place was lovely, The room was a little cramped and there was a problem with the shower door. However, the staff fixed it and, overall, were extremely accommodating.
- ariel (10/5): Great stay - We had a wonderful romantic getaway from Boston for a night. It's quaint and quiet. It's a beautiful retreat and well worth it!the breakfast was incredible and we had the pleasure of dining there at night. Be ready to sit for awhile as the courses are nicely timed. Great stay!
- Momofthree (8/5): - Old Inn on the Green is a great find for a weekend stay. The food is superb and the Inn itself is a pleasant throwback to the way New England used to be. The rooms are spacious and comfortable but not luxurious. Expect uneven floorboards and rustic touches. The best part of the Inn is the restaurant with its candlelight only dining room and truly impressive menu, which includes fabulous baked goods that can also be found at the nearby Southfield Store, owned by Meredith and Peter Platt, the Inn's proprietors
- Tim (10/5): Cute bed and breakfast with amazing food! - A friend and I decided to meet up in the Berkshires and didn’t realize it was Columbus Day weekend. Everywhere was booked but looking the old inn had a room. It looked nice on the website and had good reviews do we went for it. We really had no idea what a deal it was. We had a great comfortable room with two queen beds and our own back porch with yard so we could throw the football. They had a pool but it wasn’t warm enough to get in. By far the best part was the breakfast and free dinners on weeknights. Absolutely delicious. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.
