• Richard (10/5): - Our ac was out unfortunately and they could t get it fixed until after our stay
• Kally (4/5): - Genuinely the only thing good about the room was that the AC could go down to 60°. There was a poop stain on the bathroom floor, a 3inch GAP under the front door that we had to plug up with towels so bugs wouldn’t get in, and the TV didn’t even have a speaker so it was useless. Extremely outdated rooms, the key cards working are a hit or miss. Black mold was growing on the shower curtain and the ceiling texture was PEELING off of the ceiling everywhere. My asthma and allergies have genuinely never been that bad in my life. They also kicked out a father and his small child that was staying next to us to clean the room at 10:30am… when checkout was at 11am. The prices do not reflect these conditions at all, I thought I was getting at least a decent room. Never again.

• Linda (8/5): - The expression don’t judge a book by its cover applies here. The exterior is & looks old but the room I was in appeared upgraded. The staff seemed to have a language barrier because the woman did not understand English when I asked for a copy of my room charges. The small pool appeared clean but I didn’t get to swim this trip, one reason is the pool is open only 9AM to Dusk. Breakfast not even continental is provided but the room had a one cup generic coffee maker, good working micro & mini fridge. The bed & pillows were most comfortable I slept very well. Last but not least the bathroom was well supplied with soap, shampoo & conditioner plus hair dryer.

• Stephanie (10/5): We'd stay here again - Check-in was easy. The room was clean along with the bathroom. We had a room with a hot tub and it was also clean. It's close to downtown and other areas so you dont have to travel too far to get where you want to go. Vilano beach is also about 5 mins away. Very cute hotel. We would definitely stay here again.
• Julia (4/5): - I stay here pretty frequently at different times of the year. Never had an issue until today. When i stay i usually stay for a week or so at a time. I live in the area but use this hotel to just get away and relax. The owners son has now twice banged on my door like he's swat, he's very rude, very dismissive, just really not pleasant at all. He was complaining about me having company. Since when is having company at a hotel an issue? I don't have anyone sleeping over. He said he sees on the camera it's more than just me staying here. He said he had to come in and check the room. I said he could come in he walked in super fast, went right to the bathroom quickly turned around and walked out and slammed the door. Im really annoyed with this and feel this is ridiculous considering the amount of money i spend here.

When the sink plugged up the proprietor took care of it right away. It showed us that they care about their guests. Very reasonable price.

• Alejandro (6/5): - For the price you can’t beat it. It’s for the most part clean. The water smells like sulfur, and my bathroom had hair on the walls. Also my room was in front of a street and you can hear everything that happens on that road.
• MILES (6/5): - The Merida is a no-frills budget Motel. My room needed a makeover, but I saw other rooms that were much nicer. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. A previous guest had poured coffee into the coffee maker to heat it up instead of using the microwave. I cleaned it out, but it didn’t work. The housekeeper gave me another one. He was very nice. The amenities are attached to the wall & are refilled, reducing landfill waste. However, I didn’t see a recycling bin. If you don’t mind walking a bit, you can walk to the pedestrian mall saving $20 on parking. The Merida doesn’t deserve an 8.2 rating based on my room, more like 6.5.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice rooms for the price - Great price for the room. Steve was very helpful & each day we had housekeeping services. They are located on US 1 so traffic noise is heard but minimally w/AC on. They have shampoo, conditioner & soap dispensers in the shower.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Some things bothered me - When we arrived, we could smell feces in the parking lot. I don't know where it was coming from. Inside the room, the bathroom door was making a lot of noise when opening and closing. We found some cockroaches. The curtain didn't block the light, and the valve that makes the shower water come out was spraying water at us. There was noise from cars because it was located in front of an avenue. Now, something about hotels in general: Why is the air conditioning next to the bed? The cold air is very bad for those who sleep. And what's more, there's no breakfast.

The extra lock at the top of the door was missing in my room. Around noon they started doing renovations in another room and it was very loud. If you’re looking for a basic, affordable room this is it.

Pillows could have been better and there was hair on the bathtub and the shower curtain had mold on it. I found crumbs of food underneath the sheets. It was a nice room for what I paid but it could have been cleaner.
• Laura (10/5): Cute setup. Very comfy - Very cute setup outdoors. Love the apartment ambiance of a quaint villa. Our family was very comfortable with an assortment of pillow options. Not quite on the main drag but very convenient to the attractions and shopping. Check-in was smooth. Housekeeping was thorough and discreet. Very satisfied with our visit. Will stay again.

• Brian (6/5): An Acceptable Option - This is an older motel but it appears they are trying to take good care of it. It was vlean enough and there was plenty of hot water. The bed isn’t comfy and it was pretty noisy (the heater and the highway). I wouldn't say it was affordable but this is a tourist town so relatively it is.

It has a pool, i didnt use it so i cant comment on that. Its close to a highway and train tracks so it loud but it fades as the night goes on. For the price it was fine.

• Bradley (2/5): Don’t waste your money! - Awful hotel. Staff barely spoke English and didn’t really seem to have a clue what he was doing. Room was not clean and smelled like someone had been smoking in. Staff said all rooms non smoking and offered air freshener as a solution. We kept on being woken up through the night from the smell of smoke which would only mean someone was smoking outside in the room next door. They need a smoking area away from the rooms in my opinion.

• Slobodan (4/5): - Dirty, outdated and not good value. Furniture at least 30 years old. Washroom had a hole in the ceiling. Everything in the room smelled like smoke. You will hear every single car or truck passing by so if you end up staying here, bring ear plugs. Mattress full of stains. Found someone else’s hair in the bed. Not sure how this place has above 8 average review grade, but definitely fooled me. In summary, definitely not recomended. This was probably the worst stay hotel stay I ever had.
• Jessica (6/5): Ok motel - Very basic motel. Other reviews and pictures are kind of misleading. It was ok for the price and the short notice we booked our trip. I would rate it more in the 7 scale, not 8+. Room was fairly clean, but small improvements could be made. On a Main Street, so a little noise, but tolerable.
• Shirley (2/5): Horrible, a disaster, needs an update urgently - The photos on your website are fake. The room that was supposed to be non-smoking smelled like cigarettes. The room was dirty, the bathtub was yellowish and you could tell it hadn't been cleaned with hair. The The bed was hard and made noise every time I lay down. We ended up with back pain. The carpet was disgustingly dirty. My husband and I bought Lisol to kill the smell of cigarettes and household products.cleaning so we could stay there, because we could no longer cancel the booking. We asked for another room and they didn't have another "non smoking" one. This stay was truly a nightmare. Do not book at this resort, it is a disaster.
• Rhonda (10/5): - Much more than I expected. The room is VERY CLEAN, it even has a jacuzzi, which I did NOT expect. Amongst the appliances are, refrigerator, and not a little one. Microwave, table and chairs, daybed and plenty of room. The new owners are very kind and accommodating. If I could post photos, I would.

The worst part was the traffic. It was very loud. There are train tracks outside the motel and we could hear the trains going by. Bring earplugs and you will be fine.
• Vojislav (2/5): - I had a terrible experience at Merida Hotel. The place was dirty, noisy, and felt more like a rundown motel than a proper hotel. The bathroom smelled awful, and to make matters worse, there was no soap provided. The overall cleanliness and upkeep of the property were absolutely unacceptable. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and find a better option elsewhere!

• Maryann (8/5): A Decent Place to Stay - The management is good. The property and grounds are well kept. It is an older building. There is a train that makes some noise at times, though it wasn’t a real problem. When the windows and doors were closed the road noise was minimal. It’s not luxurious though the price was right and met my needs.

• Sanders (10/5): - I've been on a two week cross country motorcycle trip and this was by far the best place I stayed. The staff is incredible. Steve in the evening and T in the morning were incredibly kind and accomodating, and very enjoyable to chat with (I'm sure T was excited Liverpool beat Villa today and City lost out 🙄 lol). The property is definitely walkable to historic downtown, but also close enough for a cheap Lyft. Other cool spots are just a few mins walking distance away. I highly recommend this quaint little property over the brand name motels nearby.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Not the best by far - This is a true motel. The room smelled moldy. The air was set at 75 and the refrigerator left unplugged. Everything except the bed was outdated. The bathroom was antiquated and showing much needed repairs. If you are looking to just sleep here you can get by but for a couple of bucks more you can stay elsewhere. I have stayed at many places along this strip and this by far is last place.

The sink is outside the bathroom and the refrigerator and microwave is in a little cubby hole. There's no place to hang your clothes. One must live out of your suite case.

• Dean (6/5): - Saint Augustine is often an expensive place to stay. Extremely touristy, many of the brand properties are in the 250 range a night. We stay at this property which I found on Expedia. The room size was adequate. But as soon as we got into the room, it smelled like Pio. We come to find later that the same smell existed when we walked into a retail store on the carpet where shopping carts are parked. Dirty carpet that hasn’t been cleaned in a really long time. There were Halsa road noise on the upstairs unit that we had as sport, bike motorcycles, jammed by with straight pipes several times in the evening. Nothing that the hotel could do anything about. We should’ve stayed next-door at one of the two branded which were approximately $50 more but would’ve also included breakfast did not have. There is a reason that hotel business is changed. People want consistency and this is one more reason not to go off the reservation when it comes to making future travel plans. Please note that I stayed in hotels four days a week for over 20 years in my prior sales rep roles- so I have a bit of experience in, traveling and staying at properties.
• Verified traveler (4/5): - Bad hotel, we will not return, the manager was rude when calling at 10:00 am and saying that we had to leave the hotel, check out was at 11:00 am very rude, the man at the reception was formal but the manager very Rude, we won't be back

• Denise (10/5): - We had a lovely stay at the Merida. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the location was decent. We brought our bikes so everywhere was a 10 min ride or less. I will absolutely stay here again and again!
