La fenêtre avec vue sur mer était tout petit et l’accès à la bouilloire bloqué par une fauteuil qu’il fallait enjamber! Nous l’avons donc refusé et l’argent , qui avait était encaissé la veille était remboursé. Mieux q’a Venise l’automne dernier ou j’attends encore votre remboursement de €600 (moins les €125). The only reason we chose this hotel was it had a lift, plus swimming pool and hot tub. My husband was recovering from complete knee replacement and I have arthritis in both knees. Firstly our room was on the 2nd floor, ask to be moved to a ground floor room but done was available so had one on the 1st floor. So I flight of stairs up. The swimming is on a lower floor around some weird corridor. The hot tub was working on the 2 days I went down to use it. So called being cleaned.

Very tired and dated decor, shower in room was poor and almost unusable, we were on the second floor and the lift was out of order, continental breakfast was poor and not really up to standard.

Being close to the beach it is easy to walk down to the seafront to use the local bars/restaurants The rooms are looking a little tired/ dated but the price and location mean it is good value for money. Nothing else seems appropriate to say I didn't like
- Paul (9/5): An Enjoyable, Refreshing Break - Fair enough the property is dated but it was clean and tidy. The gym has newish equipment. The indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and leisure facilities were good. The en-suite basin tap needed new seals - it would not turn off!

Rooms were warm, comfy and clean with all the cooking facilities, We enjoyed the indoor swimming pool and the jacuzzi. Staffs were very polite and extremely helpful. We loved it. toilet flush was little bit tricky, it took long time to fill up water.

Very friendly and helpful, kind and polite The bed could have been comfier and the food wasn't terribly nice however the lovely waitress kindly made big adaptions to take into account my food intolerance and after seeing i hadn't eaten my meal she didnt charge me for it. If I didnr have food restrictions im sure id have found something more palatable as the other meals looked lovely. We didnt have breakfast however the lady on breakfast kindly made me a few lovely cups of coffee. We really appreciated the staffs time

- Elizabeth (8/5): Amazing value for money - We were upgraded on arrival to suite 4 which had a huge bedroom, lounge and kitchen with a stunning view of the gardens and across to the sea from the balcony. The pool and other facilities were wonderful and staff were very friendly especially in the leisure suite and front desk. As others have said it is a little retro but is clearly loved for its unique style by the staff and who cares what colour the carpet is when you're asleep!

We were shocked - We came for a nights break to chill out, we packed the car in the morning then looked at eachother and said we wanted another night as we enjoyed our stay!! The evening meal wasn’t as good as it could’ve been. The room itself was very comfortably as for the view the gardens were well maintained and pretty . can’t complain. Although the place was very comfortable, the staff were very good it was tired. Carpets in our room looked like the hand been clean properly in years. A lot of the things didn’t work like the coffee machine for the breakfast it only did Americano if you didn’t like strong coffee. You’re out of luck the view from our balcony although the gardens were lovely we couldn’t. actually see the sea because the trees were grown too high and cut off most of the views outside of the garden but that all said we would go back again and we are looking to book at some point in the future

- Neil (7/5): Great facilities, good location, friendly staff - Devoncourt offered a welcoming and well-equipped retreat for families visiting Exmouth. Beyond its indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools and gym, the resort includes a jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. Families can enjoy the lounges with panoramic views of the Jurassic Coast, and the gardens provide a relaxing outdoor space for children. The resort also includes a snooker table and tennis court. Our room was family-friendly with sea view. Parking added convenience, while its location (just a short walk from the beach) makes it an ideal base for exploring. Unfortunately, our stay was negatively impacted by poor WiFi connectivity. The repeater located in the corridor outside our room (306) stopped functioning during our visit. Although the staff made an effort to reset the device, it failed to operate correctly, leaving our room without any reliable internet access for the duration of our stay. This lack of connectivity was particularly inconvenient, as we rely on stable internet while traveling. While we appreciated the staff’s prompt response, the issue remained unresolved, and no alternative solution was offered. A more robust infrastructure and contingency plans for technical issues is desirable. We hope management will address this problem to ensure future guests do not face similar disruptions.

- Razwana (Rose) (5/5): Ok nothing special and to not believe everything you read or see on booking.com - The room was ok nothing special had very old look and feel to it wasn’t nothing what we were expecting very expensive to what we hoped for, because I had 5small kids I booked it due to the sauna and x2 swimming pools but really they weren’t all that at all felt robbed. Our room had appliances and look as a elderly people’s home good for just the stay for sleep tbh next time won’t go for look of the property and what booking.com wants to show wake up call true reality is the reviews of people stay honestly. Beds were very comfy, furniture was ok too but old dated again and room had no heating at all felt cold in the night for kids both hot water sink taps made a racket when we open taps needs looking at. Day staff were very warm, welcoming and helpful but hotel and location wasn’t suited to our needs at all…shame really paying that price for something that wasn’t what it was next time will book carefully as pics of hotel and rooms are taken from before reality is when you enter your stay and room. Breakfast wasn’t with our offer of stay really should have been at the price we paid bonus was the car parking facility tbh that helped loads. Lift was very old and dated and felt very scary to get into and stairs were so many to get to room, at one point we found it confusing to get to our rooms the way the rooms are by their numbers around the corner. When we arrived for our reservation the night staff was very cold, not very welcoming or polite, very nosy and not very helpful, he asked questions that weren’t relevant to our stay about backgrounds and heritage which was very rude and not what we were expecting, soon as I put him straight he became very rude and cold, it immediately affected our stay but we didn’t let it a get to us as I knew will report it to staff in the morning. We actually spoke to the day staff on our leave and she wa shocked and apologised for his behaviour towards us and showed us empathy, understanding and was very reassuring that management will look into and deal with it and apologised again. The location was very quiet and boring not to our expectations, shops weren’t close by or hot food places. It wasn’t what we were hoping for tbh. Over all hotel is very old dated and boring needs lifting up with fresh paint and appliances, so many cob webs and both our hot water taps needed attention as soon as we opened them they made a racket and lift is very old and dated made it very daunting and scary to get into so old fashioned needs replacing immediately, kids wouldn’t get into as they got scared of it me also.

We felt the room could do with a make over, particularly the carpet which needed a shampoo. The staff were excellent and helpful.

- Sarah (8/5): Great location great staff rooms and hallways need seriously updating - The back side of the hotel and gardens and location were beautiful and the staff were lovely especially the young girl on reception on the Saturday , who went over and above with some local knowledge for me , she was so friendly and helpful a real asset to the hotel ! Breakfast was nice and the sever friendly , the size of the apartment was good Very outdated decor and fixtures and fittings in the apartment (quite charming in some way , but really very old fashioned ) workmanship next to our room when we first arrived was very very loud , sauna and steam room both weren’t hot and the hot tub water was quite brown so much so I didn’t stay in it

- Louise (8/5): A real gem - The suite was enormous, excellent for a family stay. Beautiful grounds, close to the beach, great views to the sea, indoor and outdoor pools. Friendly and helpful staff. I love this hotel. It's dated and requires a little work but that adds to it's charm and the basics are all covered. I hope that it never loses it's fight to not be sold as it is a gem of a building and a real family favourite.
- Sharon (4/5): Disappointing - Sea view. No restaurant, rooms are dated and worn down. Bar prices silly! We have stayed many times before in the past but to us it looks like it is being run down to close. Radiators were off, we had a portable heater. The bathroom had a wall mounted blower that kept going off! The usual Christmas display is no more and the receptionist seemed to be doing all the jobs!

- mark (4/5): i think the hotel has potential to be great but very run down - location was nice the rooms are very cold heating didnt work properly and the hot water would last about 3 mins so having a bath in 1 inch of water is harder than im a celebrity get me out of here, this hotel could be amazing but its very run down and needs a revamp.
- Barbara (8/5): Nice for a first visit to Exmouth - The pools were lovely and the grounds Corridors to rooms on lower level bit dark and unwelcoming for a lone traveller so I changed rooms

- Dawn (1/5): Avoid! Dirty and very tired. - The only thing to like about this so called hotel is the close proximity to the beach. It’s tired, dated, noisy and dirty rooms. It ruined my stay and I left early. It’s like something from faulty towers. Broken wardrobes, sofa, dirty rooms. I genuinely don’t know how they have the nerve to call themselves a hotel.
- Brian (8/5): Good location, great room nice staff. - The suite was great for us, we could come and go when we needed and weren’t tied to time for breakfast etc. There was nothing going on in the hotel in the evening
- Ray (6/5): Seeing my son for his 21st Birthday made our stay. I'm very grateful that our rooms facilitated that - Cheery Staff, Helpful on all occasions, over exceeding on delivering my luggage to my room. (I have a disability there is no lift!). Fair to say they were Engaging, held a very decent conversation across the board from reception, service, maintenance. I like their attitude and manner very much! Rooms are actually self catering. I have stayed here before but liked what was available but it is fair to say that decor and furnishings are falling apart and very much in need of replacement/refurbishment, not just TLC. I liked the view during daylight hours. Weather was appalling (Storm Claudia), but the gardens are very well kept considering our Autumnal Period and I always love a view of the sea. Furnishings are just very dated and decor shows it's age! Paints, wallpapers all peeling, outside, very bad weathering from the elements. The furnishings are falling apart and obvious issues of making good with repairs.

- Damon (8/5): Recommended - Easy to find. Parking on site. Checked in by Lily who was extremely helpful and welcoming. Very large suite with lovely view of the garden and sea beyond. Great value. Served again by Lily at the bar who helpfully again arranged for our dinner order to be ready for as soon as the kitchen opened so we could get out in time for our show at the Pavillions. 10 minute walk to the beachfront and 15 to the pavilion so perfect location. All staff were friendly and helpful Comfortable lounge area in our room. Would definitely stay again. I am already planning a few days there to be able to use the leisure facilities as we didn't plan that for this time! The bed was a bit hard but that is just our preference. Hotel was generally a bit dated and tired. Could really use a but if TLC.

- Darren (3/5): Awful, don’t waste your money - Location was great and the view from the room was lovely. But, that’s as far as it goes The room was very dated! It was dirty, lots of dust, carpets dirty, light fittings and bulbs were extremely dusty, the light switches had a green coming out of it, coffee table was scratched to hell, the bed was as hard as a board, the kitchen units were broken, the tap had green scale, the sofa was broken and looked like it had come straight out of the 1970’s
