• Sabrina (10/5): Classic small town boutique hotel, newly renovated with a cocktail lounge & coffe bar. - Cute, nicely renovated classic boutique hotel in downtown Gainesville. Close to UF campus and restaurants. The rooms have all been redone with new furniture, bathrooms & floors and they were clean. On site coffee bar & cocktail lounge whip was great! All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay again! Only thing about ALL the lodgings in Gainesville is that they raise the prices for big events: games, graduation, move-in wknds so book in advance if possible! N/A

Easy parking, and walking distance to all festivities, parks, clubs, bars, and restaurants! The value was WELL worth the price and then some! They do have an ice machine and a coffee/bar in the lobby! The little Refrigerator… you can fit 4 cans of soda in it. I Brought a cooler, thankfully. No microwave for midnight cravings.

• Pavlish (8/5): Overall, a good place for the money. Quiet and clean. - The price was good, it was quiet, and it was clean. The provided robe was nice, and the towels were big and fluffy. The front desk young woman when we checked in was very nice and helpful. The little fridge in the room didn't work, and it was very tiny anyway. There was no microwave or hair dryer. The emails ahead of time made it seem as if there would be no one there to help check in, and I don't like or book air bnbs for that reason. Had too many negative experiences with problems with getting codes for entry, etc. , so I was worried I somehow got an air bnb by mistake. Make it clear that this is a hotel with front desk checking available.

We had to buy a fan so we can have it running all day and night so it stays cool in the room. We stayed there for 2 days that was our issue. The hotel advertise a pool there was NO pool. The area where the pool was located was literally cement with some flowers on it. There was ppl hanging out all night smoking and drinking, You cant feel safe especially if you have younger kids

• Noah (4/5): Not so great this time - The staff are always amazing. The renovations are looking great. The majority of our towels had stains on them and left lint on everything. The most disturbing and disgusting part was the multiple roaches we had to kill throughout the room.

My only complaint in the tiny, and I mean tiny (one can), refrigerator. Rooms need a small usable fridge, and a microwave would be a bonus. I would stay there again, no problem. The staff was very kind and accommodating.

However they just glopped new paint over old and you can see the prior removed room number plate. Also the door bottoms look rotted and they just installed a metal plate at the bottom. The plan is a boutique accommodation. Well they have a long way to go. The area around the lodge is sketchy.

• Verified traveler (4/5): Becoming Overpriced for No Frills - Under new management as of June 2025, the Gainesville Lodge seems to be positioning itself as “boutique accommodations,” according to a news article. The reality is very different. I’ve stayed here for years due to its convenient distance to the University of Florida, as it was always a no-frills place to rest. The new owners have made cosmetic changes like painting the building, new towels, new bedding and adding combination door locks, but there have been no real upgrades. The room furnishings remain the same the bathrooms remain dated and need renovation. Basic amenities are gone—no microwave. There was never coffee service in the room nor breakfast offered and the pool was filled in years ago. Although our room was designated non-smoking, it smelled strongly of smoke, which made our stay uncomfortable. Most concerning is the pricing: I requested a room for a football weekend and was quoted $1,300 for one night. The location is good, but the value simply isn’t there. The lodge is tolerable due to convenience, but under current management, it’s overpriced.

• Cary (4/5): - The only two things I liked about the room was price and the mattress. The mattress slept very well. On the other hand, the frame in which the mattress lay made a lot of noise. There aren’t any unique features about the room. Everything is outdated including the motel itself. The furniture is dirty and the AC unit is very noisy and keeps you up all night pretty much. To access the controls to the AC you will have to stand on a chair in order to reach them. That’s dangerous. Because of their rules, you can’t bring any of your personal appliances for example, an air fryer to use. That’s disappointing.

The parking is enclosed and seems very secure. For me the biggest drawback was loud and fairly ineffective air-conditioning (although it did work). I would definitely stay again.
