• Janine (7/5): - The location is great and the bed was comfy. Great shower pressure. The rooms are lovely, but the guesthouse as a whole needs maintenance. The carpets are old and dirty and overall presentation could be much better.

• Cheryl (5/5): Poor Quality for the Price - Location There was confusion around the unit I had booked, which delayed my work process and there was no milk in the room for coffee, drinking water was lacking, no Aircon in the cottage, unit was not aired before arrival, shower was cold and the bathroom next to the boardroom was filthy with someone’s hair all over the basin, bath and floor.

• Carmel (7/5): Comfortable but needs a facelift - The manager on duty each time was friendly. Each day it was a different manager as it was Christmas time, so they were rotating. The bed was super comfortable and we slept very well. I liked having a bar fridge in the room. It was handy. When I needed an iron, they lent me one. The decor is very outdated and although it may be a theme, it could definitely be updated. My grandparents had those wardrobes and furniture. The heavy curtains too. The plastic shower base is not tasteful and the grouting is no longer white on the tiles in the bathroom. The lid of the trash can in the bathroom is broken. It's difficult to find two pin outlets in the room and thus the accommodation is not very accessible for foreigners who have to use adapters. Having to choose the time to have breakfast then day before and having to stick to it was not very flexible. Perhaps there is an issue with staff. There were some miscommunications on what we wanted for breakfast, but it wasn't too bad.

Felt safe and could park my car near the entrance door. Bed mattress very hard Noisy neighbours leaving their room at 4am! A bit run down - the bathroom could do with a renovation.

My room was the cottage at the back, the internet connection there was very bad, the Wi-Fi was not even working but at least the staff told me about the issue from the moment I arrived.

The cottage needs more plug points in the room and the outside security lights shining into the main rooms made it difficult to sleep.
• Marcus (4/5): Never visit this hotel or even Port Elizabeth. Just stay away or go to St Francis. - The communication manager was very kind and helpful. The shower was awful, not a chance to keep a temperature. Water was smelling like acid. The pool is only cleaned on Tuesdays and was on Monday in an indescribable condition full of old dirt. I was told, that I can’t swim. So I cleaned the pool. Breakfast was very poor and 2,5 times more expensive than a much better breakfast the morning before at the mall. There’s no backup for loadshedding. The hotel closes all doors after 19:00, if you want to go to the terrace for a cigarette, you have to leave the hotel. It seems, that there were very advantageous pictures taken to catch guests no matter what the real experience is.the truth is completely different and I really can’t imagine, that even one of the good ratings is true.
