• HIROTO (10/5): - 清掃スタッフさんがいい感じで、元気にサバディー！と挨拶してくれます。 仕事も丁寧で、清掃後は床にチリ一つ落ちていません。ベッドメイクも完璧でした。マットレスもちゃんと弾力があり、腰が痛くなるようなこともなかったです。 タオル類は毎日取り替えてもらえ、あと水も毎日もらえる(290ml×2本)のが地味にありがたいです。 シャワーはちゃんとお湯が出、エアコンもしっかり効くので快適でした。 朝食もなかなかおいしいですが、唐辛子の入ったものは超激辛なのでご注意ください。 デポジットに30万キープ必要ですが、水だけならタダなので全額返ってきます。 カップ麺も机の上に置いてありますが、これが無料かはわかりません。 セーフティーボックスは見当たらなかったので、ワイヤーロックがあると安心でしょう。

• dharmapitt (8/5): Clean and comfortable hotel - This hotel is good value for money, especially with current deals. The locationn is not ideal if you want to be near the Mekong downtown area. Excellent breakfast provided - I also received a room upgrade free. The reception staff were not very welcoming unfortunately - maybe they had a bad day? There is quite a lot of traffic noise - so preferably try to get a room at the back of the hotel Otherwise my stay was very comfortable.

• stefyalbores (8/5): Adequate hotel - It’s quite an acceptable hotel. About 20 minute drive from the international airport. Pros: - Price is reasonable - 10 minutes walk to the embassy (great for visa runs) - I had to photocopy some documents and they did it for me at the lobby for free - Convenient stores and restaurants were accessible - Staff were good. They werent rude and when I tried to pay for an extra half day they tried their best to stay patient with me even though I was struggling to communicate with them due to currency exchange rates & language barriers - The rooms were decent. It seemed old but still good - Breakfast buffet was good. Had a selection of asian foods, Korean side dishes, tea, coffee, cereal, etc. Cons: - Housekeeping just comes in the room without even knocking.. which is invasion of privacy (and was really annoying). We tried to tell them to come back some other time but they didn’t get it. Neither was there any signage to put in our front door to tell housekeeping that we want to makeup our room or “do not disturb.” - Toilet wasn’t entirely dry when I first checked in. It was wet like someone just finished cleaning - Upon entering the room it was pretty clear they just didn’t bother to clean everything. You could see some dirt in the minibar and some webs on top walls. I do have some suggestion to improve the service. At least put the list of mini bar prices. I didn’t know until check-out. I didn’t even know what number to call the room service until I randomly dialed “0” and magically went to the reception. Btw room service number is 202 and either no one picks up or when they do, they don’t understand english. Not recommended for leisure. Just a decent hotel for visa runs.

• jesses673 (8/5): Good value. - On visa run. Great value for our situation. Clean, simple room. Staff was helpful and responsive. Bfast was lao had ample tasty choices. Only thing we didnt understand is why the website said there was a pool, but no pool. (If you have kids, Pool would be nice for all the downtime waiting for visa processing) otherwise we recommend this place.

• edcanela (8/5): A little secret - Great value for business travelers. The morning breakfast is generous. I live in this hotel for two very productive week. If you like to work and do business in Vientiane, this is the little secret place. I particularly liked the attention central location, large dining area, and the most helpful and courteous staff, specially Vassim, the resident manager. Some facilities for People with Disability can be improved. However, all the staff took care and helped me as a wheelchair-bound digital nomad. Highly recommended. Keep it up, Lao Golden Hotel!
• alan (8/5): Nice - Lovely hotel central to eateries,shops,and if willing..walks to morning markets and night markets..but tuk tuks available.....only complaint was other guests smoking in their rooms and smoke drifts into mine......otherwise no issues..Lovely staff..breakfast was ok for Asian but not westerners taste...and no one can make coffee..but I was happy
• porepore (8/5): コストパフォーマンスはいいです。 - 街の中心部からは離れていますが、コストパフォーマンスを求めるならよいと思います。 部屋は特に問題ないです。ただ、部屋によるのかもしれませんが、シャワー室が洗面ゾーンと一体化されているのでシャワーの後はサンダルでトイレに行く必要があります。そういうのがあまりお好きでない方は避けた方が無難でしょう。
• 年明け早々激務事務所 (8/5): 値段相応ですかね - ラオスでは初の価格帯のホテルに泊まりました。お部屋の広さや設備の整い具合は値段相応で落ち着いた滞在を楽しめます。フリーのネットは夜はかなり速度が落ちます。仕事に困るレベルでした。
• Cholo_Juan (8/5): A value for money Hotel in a good location - I enjoyed my stay at the Laos Golden Hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms large, clean and comfortable, the breakfast buffet was very good (apart from the coffee) but get in early. The location is good although not central to shopping and night spots, there is a very good cafe/restaurant across the road and a nice little cafe that serves great coffee just along the street, for when you get sick of the hotel coffee.
• Evan (8/5): Worth the price! - Everything at the hotel was excellent, but they are currently enduring a taxing internet issue. Every room has its OWN INDIVIDUAL WIRELESS ROUTER, which would have been amazing if it had worked. To rectify this, the general manager handed out free SIM cards to all of the people who needed internet. He was great, and spoke lots of different languages, so I had no complaints at the end of the day. But the real story is the breakfast. BEST hotel breakfast I have ever seen. 5 asian dishes, fresh fruit, good coffee, excellent sides. I will be staying again next time I'm in Laos.

• jadeholidays (6/5): Good Hotel but mismanaged - Lao Golden Hotel is a good hotel to stay in. The rooms are good and size is decent. I stayed there for 10 nights in total 7 nights in the Superior room and 3 nights in the Deluxe room. The rooms were big and nice. The hotel is a good hotel but management does not care much to look after it. The room was cleaned on a daily basis but things like dust and cobwebs went unnoticed. The breakfast spread was good for South East Asian travelers. There was not much variety for International travelers except for the same old fair of eggs, sausage and bread. The hotel considering they call themselves 3 star can do better in terms of better service. Staff was courteous and helpful. It was good to see friendly staff. That was the highlight of the trip. Overall experience was good and I would recommend the hotel to others. A kind note to the management requesting them to take care of the hotel as many things were broken here and there and could be maintained better.
• Alfredo (4/5): Final and departing arm twisting - Although I was told my charges had been paid I was charged an additional $70 upon my checking out. I tried to argue the charge but to no avail.
• scouse_tommy_11 (6/5): Not bad for a short stay - I have read some reviews that I think are a bit harsh. The staff when I have spoken with them are really helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is starting to show its age, loose doors or cabinet doors you cannot close etc. However this is perfectly normal throughout S. E. Asia. The rooms are really clean and the bedding is soft and clean. There are no ants or bugs here, which is a bonus. The aircon is powerful and the TV and fridge work. Basically this is a hotel that is primarily used by group tours and those visiting the Thai embassy which is a 10 minute walk away. This hotel is still ideal for these purposes and is a good short stay option. If you are actually on holiday then maybe you will want a bit more comfort (Pool/Bar/Gym?). There is everything you need within walking distance of the hotel including a Korean market, a pub, a great Indian restaurant (was there last night), coffee shops etc
• Verified traveler (6/5): 眺望良し、メンテンスがダメ - 7階の最上階で眺望も良く、部屋はきれい、ドライヤーもあった。 ドアが下がこすっていて開けづらいし締めづらかった。 朝食はメニューも多く選べるが日本人向きのものは少ない。 レビューでチェックアウトの時にドリンクなど飲んでいないのに請求されてトラブルがあるような内容が多かったので 注意していたが何事もなかった。 但し、冷蔵庫には在庫内容が書いてあったのに、中身は在庫の内容の通り入っていなかったので怪しい。 チェックアウトの際、ディスクに支配人らしき人が居たから大丈夫だったのかも。

• jack (8/5): 設備のしっかりとしたホテルでした。 - 部屋に入ると、窓の枠が破損しており、フロントに電話をすると見に来てくれましたが、あまり親身な対応ではありませんでした。結局部屋を好感してくれました。他の方の口コミで期待していたNHKは見れませんでした。部屋は広く開放的で、滞在は快適でした。冷蔵庫もあり、便利でした。徒歩圏内にコンビニや飲食店もありますので、ビザ取りの方にはとても便利だと思います。

• Verified traveler (4/5): If price is all you care about stay here... - I dont often bother writing reviews about hotels because I work in the industry so I'm willing to let most small things slide because I understand how hard it is, however I feel after the experience i should warn other to stay elsewhere. Hotel is cheap and has alot of good restaurants near by, other than that leaves alot to be desired. For instance room key would stop working every 24 hours, wifi was hit and miss, breakfast was limited, sheets had old blood stains on them, ants inside the room and spiders. Oh and housekeeping will always come to clean your room at 8 or 9 am, so if your a late sleeper alway keep dnd sign out. I've never stayed or worked anywhere where that would be acceptable. Anyways buyer beware.
• ljeannef (8/5): Wonderful staff, good night's sleep - I only stayed here one night, but felt very well looked after the whole time. After a very stressful day and no sleep the night before, I was only after a good night's sleep - and the room delivered past my expectations. When I arrived my booking.com reservation hadn't gone through properly, but the reception staff dealt with it speedily and honored the rate I'd found online for the room. The bed was cozy, the shower was hot, the room was quiet, and my sleep was deep! The location is okay. It was ideal for me being right next to the Thai embassy, but a bit far from the river. Reception will happily take care of taxis and transportation to various sites however (all staff spoke very good English.) The wifi was down when I was there, but I saw they had a team in fixing it. Breakfast was pretty good for a free breakfast, and I distinctly remember muttering to myself how good the coffee was. The hotel's manager, Hasim, is an absolute delight. He may talk your ear off a bit, but this guy will go above and beyond for his guests. All within an hour of meeting him he had printed my boarding pass off (even though the internet was down,) organized a car to take me to the airport, and when I wasn't down in the lobby early, he called up to my room to make sure I hadn't lost track of time. All in all, good value for money if you're after some rest and respite from the busy Vientiane. Thanks!

• 75JonnyM (4/5): Bad service, decent-at-best rooms - My last stay at Lao Golden was probably my worst hotel stay ever. It started at check-in when I showed up to the hotel at around 3PM to ask if they had any rooms. The foreign manager (?) said that they had rooms and asked me to sit down and wait for a bit. I waited for about ten minutes, after which the manager went to eat lunch with two other guests. I waited for another 15-20 minutes, until I couldn't stand it any longer and asked the staff at the reception what was going on. They had no idea and asked me for my key card, which I had none since I hadn't been given a room. In other words, the manager had forgotten about me, despite me sitting right in front of him, and hadn't told anyone else to take care of me. Making lunch plans was obviously more important than getting me my room. The hotel's restaurant and room service is advertised as being open 7AM-10PM. The first night I went down to the restaurant at around 8PM, only to find it deserted. I went out to find somewhere else to eat, but couldn't find one, so I went back to order room service. Between 8:40PM and 9PM, no one answered any of the numbers offered in the room's binder. I had to go to sleep hungry because of this blatant case of false advertisement. The next day I went down to the restaurant at 6PM, only to yet again find that there was no staff around. Unacceptable! During the first night, a man from the reception called my room at 3AM! The individual said that "A woman knocked on your door at 7PM last night." My "and?" and "why are you calling me to say this?" where answered with "what nationality are you?", whereupon the matter was apparently considered solved and he hung up. I have no idea if they were searching for someone or if this was some weird, roundabout way of trying to sell me a prostitute, but I do know that it is completely unacceptable to wake up a guest at 3AM with this rubbish! I had planned to check out the city the following day after a brief visit to the embassy, but this was impossible since I wasn't able to fall back asleep after they woke me up and was simply too tired – my sole day for exploring the city wasted because of this hotel. Furthermore, the doors of this hotel seem to be incredibly badly fitted/too big for their frames, because they make terrible noises. This becomes a huge problem if you want to sleep since people seem to be coming and going at all hours of the night. On top of that, the window couldn't be locked, and with a huge ledge outside, it wouldn't be difficult at all to just walk over to my room from another and steal to your heart's content. I cannot stress enough that you should pick another hotel for your visit in Vientiane. You might think that it's one of the few that's close to the embassy's consular section, but the city is surprisingly small and within ten minutes walking distance you'll find plenty of much better alternatives. The rooms are okay, but not nearly worth the 1,200 baht per night they're asking (isn't it funny how they're always running a "promotion" for this particular price?). AVOID!
• joelt86 (2/5): Dirty rooms with spider and ant's. - Checking took 20 minutes... The room was dirty and the airs conditioner broken. I was transfered to another dirty room with spider and ants. The next morning the house keeping team (without nocking) open my door at 9:30 am and invited themselves. I had no pants on, told them to leave, in the rush they did not fully closed my door. The breakfasts was disgusting, the staff more focus on watching the TV than helping me understand why they have no eggs and beacon in a breakfasts buffet. Also, forget about cleaning the table or any services you expect in an hotel. Many other options are available in this price range, I see no reason for you to stay at this hotel.
• dylantomos (8/5): Ideal for visiting Thai embassy not for tourism. - The hotel is situated on a busy street, 5 minutes walk from the Thai embassy, which makes it ideal if you have visa business there. If you are a normal tourist stay somewhere else. The hotel is far from any of the tourist sights, restaurants, bars and night market.Most of which are located by the river. There are tuk-tuk taxis near the hotel, which will take you to the tourist centres for $4, it's a hassle as you must haggle the price, they are dangerous, uncomfortable, hot and the air is very polluted. The hotel reception was good with friendly, helpful staff. The room was clean, spacious, well furnished with a 6ft bed. Bathroom was big with constant hot water, fresh towels and clean. Air con was good, wifi excellent. It was quiet at night and I had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was buffet style selection of Asian and European food - nothing special. The coffee was good. I didn't use the restaurant for lunch or dinners. A good, value for money place to stay if you have business at the Thai embassy.

• PKK (4/5): ビックリさせられること多し - いくらラオスで安全とは言え、窓のカギが緩んで、すぐに開錠になってしまい、つっかえ棒がカギ代わりにするのにはビックリ(特にスタッフからの説明なし)近くの棒が何をするためのものか気がつかない人も多いかと。一応、ホテルなのでセーフティーボックスはあるかと思えば部屋に無く、レセプションのところかと思えば、これまた無いのでスーツケースにロックして代わりにしてました(ソフトタイプなので意味はないと思いましたが。)また、自分が到着して受付を待っていたところチェックアウトのお客に間違ったミニバーの利用を伝えて少し口論になっていましたが、私がチェックアウトの時もミニバーの間違いがあり、やっぱりなぁーって感じでした。ただ、最近、マネージャーになったパキスタン出身の方は、一生懸命にお客さんのためにイイ仕事をいたのが印象的でした。
• MAKta (8/5): A great hotel for the price - I had to visit Vientiane again to do my visa run for Thailand firstly this hotel is very close to the Thai Embassy, walking distance. The hotel itself was good value for money, the room was spacious and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was mediocre but ok. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, although on of the ladies on reception was plain ignorant. I mentioned this to another member of staff and he said it's because her English is not good. How she has a job as a receptionist, baffles me. Anyway generally very good and I will certainly stay again next year.
• Boris (6/5): I wouldn't stay again! - No way I could check-in earlier than 14:00 (which is the hotel rule,understadable! room cleaning, etc), but when I did checked-in I found dirty cups and black hair on the floor! Very slow wi-fi, shower with water running on the toilet. Wouldn't recommend this hotel!
• Penguinb (8/5): Very Friendly staff. Little bit isolated - Very friendly staff/ clean rooms/ good breakfast. One can walk into Vientiane, but its a bit of a hike, so a tuk tuk is probably wiser.
• Vladimir (8/5): Good hotel in walking distance to thai consulate - This isn't my first time at this hotel, though it was kind a long time since previous visit. I found staff to be helpful and doing job well. Room was clean and bed linen looked above average. Bed itself is comfortable for sleeping. TV does have something to watch like HBO and couple other movie channels in english, most channels are on thai language though. Breakfast buffet looks like improved from more than a year ago, and while not presenting a tremendous variety, but does offer some selection, and cooked well. Wifi have a stable coverage and good enough. Overall, i think hotel does have fair value for money.

Staff was friendly but we asked for the tv to be fixed and after waiting two days we finally spoke with the manager finally got someone to come and fix it. The Internet is horrible I made several complaints to the staff and management it was so bad I could not load the google homepage. I was told we will call tomorrow to get someone to fix it. This is the excuse that was told for a week and half. basically if you need a place to sleep it's not bad but don't expect too much.
• couple in 50 s (6/5): Not what it looks like on their website. - Location great for what we wanted, visiting family across the road. Hotel pictures on their website show decorations in rooms, there weren't any. We stayed 3nights then 1 night. They do supply cups and kettle but you have to pay for tea coffee? We had to ask for toilet roll to be replaced several times. Reception staff need a little training in customer service as the basics, hello and maybe a smile were missing, eye rolling and making us feel a bit of a nuisance were all there though . Have to say on a positive the breakfast was great and the restaurant staff were all lovely.
• moniquexxx (2/5): very dangerous street, i was attacked - It was around 2 am when I returned to this hotel and asked if they had taxi service to a nearby restaurant as I was very hungry. They asked 30 usd for a ride and I just didn't want to pay this overpriced service.... The recepcionist let me wander off by myself at 2 am without a care in this world. Subsequently I was attacked and beaten by someone pretending they were a "motorcycle taxi" . If the staff cared more about the customers and didn't let young women wander off alone on the street at 2 am maybe that wouldn't have happened.

• Thomas_Indian (2/5): Terrible! - I booked for 2 days in this hotel but when i try to check in, they gave me another hotel which i nearby. Very horrible. The response of the Lao Golden people were very pathetic. I booked for 2 single bed room and they said our rooms with single bed is full and put us in the next hotel which i think belong to them. Because it was night, we didn't refuse it. But it was altogether a horrible experience.
• abe (2/5): Horrible experience! - We tried to check into this hotel by 8pm and we have a booking for 2 nights but they said there is no room!! They then send us to a nearby hotel of their own i think but very low standard. The hotel is called La Ong Dao Hotel 1 Phonesynuan Village Sisattanak District, Vientiane, 2925, Laos. This is just 5 minutes walk. Very low standard hotel. Toilets have no lock from outside, it was stinking. Full of mosquitos and the B.fast was horrible. This stay was a waste of money. I tried to call the hotels.com customer service centre and they responded but no action was taken. I called from my international roaming phone! Not a good positive response from the hotels.com. I am disappointed by this kind of service. I have pictures of the door with no lock etc.
• คนไทย (6/5): พนักงานโรงแรมไม่ชำนาญเอ็กซ์พีเดีย - ผมจองล่วงหน้า 1 เดือน พอไปถึงพนักงานค้นหาข้อมูลการจองไม่เจอ แนะนำให้ผมโทรหาเอ็กซ์พีเดียผมโทรมาเบอร์ 02 xxxxxxx ที่ไทยไม่มีคนรับสาย เขาแนะนำให้ผมยกเลิกทำเครดิตคืนแล้วรูดใหม่ ผมบอกว่าผมไปพักที่ไหนก็ไม่น่ามีปัญหาและไม่ต้องมารูดใหม่ตามที่แนะนำ สักพัก 30 นาทีผ่านไป พนักงานค้นเจอเลยรอดจากการได้นอนข้างถนน แต่ก็มีปัญหาต่อมาห้องพักยังไม่ว่างพนักงานให้ผมฝากกะเป๋าไว้ 1-2 ชม. ค่อยกลับมา เป็นประสพการที่แย่ที่สุดเท่าที่พักโรงแรมมา ห้องพักหลอดไฟน้อยเกินไปอาจอ่านหรือเขียนหนังสือลำบากแต่พื้นที่ห้องพักกว้างขวางดี ห้องน้ำสีพืนกระเบื้องมันดูไม่ค่อยสะอาดแต่ดีที่บุฟเฟ่มีให้ทานหลากหลาย

• ThanavorakitK (2/5): It used to be a nice hotel but not anymore. Avoid at all cost! - I've been here about a year ago and it was great back then. I remember staying this hotel for a few nights and it was just a pleasure stay. This time I booked a non-smoking room and paid extra money to upgrade to a bigger room. Once I arrived the room, I can smell the smoking even before I enter the room. I went down to tell hotel's receptionist and what he did was just laughing and told me this is the only deluxe room left. So I have no choice but to stay with really bad smoking smell. They tried to get rid of the smell by using spray air refresher. Would that help? Of course not! The room was not clean, the bed wasn't comfortable at all, and the bathroom? just like 1-star hotel or so. Avoid this hotel at all cost!

• Lgerc1 (2/5): Awful! - We booked this hotel on booking.com and neglected to read the poor reviews on TripAdvisor. Everything previous reviewers have said is true. On arrival it was clear reception staff had little or no English. Paying was difficult as the management (like many others in Lao) expect you to have close to the right amount in Kip and get thrown into a tailspin if you don't and they are required to find change. We arrived late at night and were tired so being confronted by a room which absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke was not pleasant. Had we not been so exhausted we would have insisted on moving however our dealings with the management had already been so agonising we took the room. Although the room was designated no smoking we found the reason with several empty packs of Chinese cigarettes littering the ledge below the windowsill of our room. How housekeeping had missed the stench and the mess outside is anyone's guess. Bedlinen also stank of smoke and was moth eaten with obvious holes. The bathroom is a wet room affair and whilst there was abundant hot water, everything in the bathroom got drenched including the toilet paper when showering. We had booked four nights but cut our stay short and left two days earlier because we could not bear another night under this roof. Terrible!

Be warned, the staff at the hotel brings prostitutes to guests staying at the hotel, the wifi does not work most of the time, and the staff is attempting to fix the wifi connection everyday we stay here. The beds are very springy and the room we stayed in was not well maintained.
• AHLEUM (10/5): Best Hotel in Laos - 진에어 밤비행기로 도착해서 바로 숙소로 갔어요. 친구랑 수페리어 트윈룸에 싱글침대 하나씩 썼는데.. 라오스 여행 중 최고의 숙소였어요! 정말 깔끔하고 청결했어요. 조식도 뷔페식으로 종류도 다양했고, 리셉션 직원들도 낮 밤 할 거 없이 다들 친절했구요. 도착한 첫 날 배고파서 주변 돌아다니니 밤 늦게까지 하는 숙소도 있었구요. 솔직히 주변에 뭐가 있는진 모르겠는데 하룻밤 짧게 머물거면 좋을 것 같아요! 너무 좋았어요 최고!
• Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel was clean and staff courteous. Breakfast was fine. You will have to take a cab to tourist destinations. One point to note is that the restaurant in hotel opens only for breakfast when I was there. So be prepared to take a cab or walk a distance for lunch and dinner. Everything else is ok.

Its a shame because the rooms are decent for the price. I wish they would put more effort into keeping it more clean, and fix the thingd that need fixing. For exemple hole in my door, broken side table. There was water in the boiler already when i arrived, for God knows how long
