Guest Reviews
- David (7/5): - We wasn’t told it was more of a conference hotel, so may going on. Not much of a tourist hotel.
- Kathryn (9/5): Excellent family stay with great hospitality, clean rooms, and a relaxing environment - The food was great, and the environment was perfect for relaxation and family bonding Great hospitality and clean rooms

- Fatima G (5/5): Worst mattress ever - I liked the pool area although i did not swim.. i liked also that we could take boat from hotel directly to the cresent island and we saw thr hippos feeding time.. it was good experience The room.. i recommend not to sleep over there just use the daily facilities.. the room was out dated for the price.. the mattress was hard like a rock.. the shampoo and conditioner is so bad quality that felt i need a shower after my shower :) get your own shampoo better.. never again booking this hotel for a sleep over but maybe i will come for day use of the facilities
- Croydon (6/5): Avoid - Great space and amazing location The flush in toilet was broken and no one came to fix. After an hour we were told to move to other rooms. Also the internal telephone line i was calling to get the toilets fixed was horible. Not staying there again. Expensive for the quality

- Reena (4/5): Wonderful staff, possibly a great location for families, but quite noisy room set up. - The staff were wonderful. Joel and Lilian were especially accommodating. I did not like that the rooms had shared balconies and this was not declared in advance and then having the only seating area concentrated almost directly outside your bedroom… not only does it take security concerns but also noise concerns for those people who want to return to their rooms early and wake up early. The team was gracious enough to move us but then we were close to the the elevator doors and there appears to be no sound proofing so every time the door was opened the sound resonated throughout. And then the cleaners doing their best to ready the rooms were going in and out Bekia and we could hear their movement (doors opening etc) from the penthouse.
- Agnes (4/5): - The hotel is in a good location, easy to locate and also not far from the town. The hotel also has a number of activities for guests, is close to the lake and the breakfast is great. The entrance was crowded with those coming to spend the day at the place. It happened to be a holiday so there was a lot of people. This was not well organized and had to push through people because no one was giving.way. The management needs to change the system of how and where they process those coming to just spend the day so that the lobby does not look like a market bazaar. The lights in the ground floor lobby of the rooms for instance in the Beckia block is very poorly lit. The rooms were fine except for the bathroom which got stuffy if you closed the door. The rooms have thin walls though, I could hear children screaming and running around in the adjoining rooms late into the night. The morning peace was disrupted by construction taking place across the block.
- Catriona (8/5): Lovely location - Location Some Staff seemed off hand, not happy and not friendly.
We had to wait a long time to be shown our rooms. It was late and we were tired after a long journey. It seemed like most of the buggy staff had clocked off and there was no one to take us to our accommodation. We had a car so someone could have easily given us directions but we had to wait until someone eventually turned up.
- Thembisa (9/5): Lovely, cant wait to go back - Beautiful, comfortable, hospitable, lovely for relaxing Being told my booking was only for room and not food where as my booking included food

- Kieran (9/5): - Excellent location and I imagine it's the best hotel in the area. Customer service was excellent. The location is wonderful, they even have hippos that they feed right at the resort (behind the electric fence). Rooms didn't have air conditioning but this really wasn't an issue while we were there

Erg storend
- Korhonen (9/5): Very nice mini holiday - The resort itself is very nice, close to the lake and everything is just good Sound proofing in the room is non-existing. We could practically hear our neighbours doing things we didn't want to hear... Our room was a connecting room and clearly the connecting door was made of paper
- Matija (7/5): -
- NTOLO (7/5): It was a good short stay. - Close encounter with hippos. N/A
- Kariuki (5/5): - Location was good. Customer service not great.

- Verified traveler (2/5): - I booked one night, 1 double room, 1 single room and paid through Expedia for Lake Naivasha Resort. When I arrived they said I had booked 2 single rooms and no meals so they charged me for what they said was the difference. When I saw the receipt I questioned it and said I need a refund! I had booked correctly and I had my paid receipt from Expedia. In the end I would have only owed for our meals. The difference between what they charged me and the cost of the meals should be refunded to me! Lake Naivasha Resort is now saying that Expedia didn't pay the Resort what I paid to Expedia but that Expedia deducted their commission so if I get a refund it will be less than expected! Expedia is a third party booking agent and is entitled to some form of payment which has nothing to do with what I paid for the rooms at Lake Naivasha Resort. The desk staff doesn't understand the wording on the receipts from online booking agents which adds to the problem. No one is available at early check out to resolve money issues! This is a newly renovated hotel yet the sink and toilet leaked so much it was dangerous to walk in the bathroom! Also in the morning they were not prepared for breakfast for early check outs so you do without or run late leaving. I suggest you NEVER stay at Lake Naivasha Resort - read other reviews about similar issues. I have stayed at Simba Lodge and Enashipai Resort and never had any of these issues.
- Sarah (8/5): Very Good - Nice resort right on the lake. It is a huge conference center which I wasn't aware of. For kids there are pools and a nice playground. You can walk out to the dock and take a boat ride to see hippos. The rooms are nice and spacious. The spread at breakfast was varied and nice which was included in my room rate. I tend to prefer smaller, boutique hotels but this wasn't bad just large.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Kenya Tour - Overall we enjoyed our 2-night stay. As seems to be usual in Kenya the staff are excellent. All very friendly and efficient. It's right on the lake with really nice gardens that go down to the water. In the evening a pod of hippos came ashore and we could observe them very closely from behind a wire fence. We also did a one hour boat ride. We just turned up and went with no need to pre-book. It was kes 2000 for the boat which I thought was ok. We saw lots of birds and hippos as well as giraffe, zebras and gazelles on Crescent Island (but only from the boat). The resort also has an excellent pool.
My only issue was with the room but it wasn't totally the resort's fault. Firstly the wifi and phone reception were very poor in the room. I had to go outside to the block entrance to get a decent signal (but wifi very good in bar/restaurant etc). Secondly the room was a bit small and dark with no views. I mention this because the hotels.com website described the room as having a balcony and lake views. No it didn't. I asked at reception and they said they don't have ANY rooms with balconies and lake views. I don't know where the fault lies but I'm going to take this up with hotels.com
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful location. Exceptionally attentive staff.
- Erika (8/5): Good choice for Visits to Crescent Island - The single reason I give this hotel any 5 stars at all is because of Mary, the front desk supervisor. Despite a series of mistakes from other staff, she made my family’s one-night stay enjoyable. She was exceptionally professional, efficient, and hospitable.
Anyone who wants a convenient hotel to visit Crescent Island will find this a good option. The resort is steps from the water, but since the hippos come out at night, there is an electric fence so you can’t go sit by the Lake. However the boat tours are very close to the property, and our boat guide (Stephen) was excellent and ensured my son saw more hippos than we could count!
This hotel will benefit if it upgrades its decor and rooms soon. It is clean and comfortable but very outdated. The food is overpriced for the quality, and provides very slow service.
The TV in the room offered no channels and my son was very disappointed as we don’t have a TV at home. He loved the bike rental, but this costs extra money. The pool was very nice and clean but far too cold to enjoy and there is no jacuzzi. The resort grounds are well-kept and I had a good massage at the spa.
Overall, this hotel is overpriced but still the
best option if your goal for the visit is convenience for a boat ride at Lake Naivasha or Crescent Island. Hell’s Gate is 20 minutes south. Still in the future, unless they upgrade their service, food, and rooms, I would only stay one night.
- Hesbon (10/5): - I had an amazing time at Lake Naivasha Resort. The staff were especially very friendly and helpful. The place was really lovely.
- Bashir (10/5): Lake Naivasha Hotel - The staff are extremely friendly. The boat trip late afternoon coupled with the walk on Crescent Island wtere simply out of this world. Lovely. The hotel is beautifully located and the facilities were good. The chef went out of his way to cook me a superb vegetarian meal. The price was favourable compared with hotels of the same standard.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The swimming pool is just awesome and very well kept gardens
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect - Nice place for vocation. I spend my time here and customer service was fantastic.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This property is not even open I was charged for a night even if there was no service At all. I had to find another hotel to stay and there was no intention of refund by the property. THIS IS A FRAUD.
- Verified traveler (4/5):
- Ron Wooten (4/5): Close to lake but Construction on going. - When we arrived they did not have our rooms. We had to go to a sister hotel for one night. Turns out it was better than where we booked.
Went back 2nd day and they took us to rooms beside huge construction site. Hotel is expanding. This is at least a year project.
Food was ok. Shower was a joke. Bed was good. Place was clean. Monkeys were plenteous and were a bit to aggressive. One chased me twice and was not afraid of humans. Over all very bad choice.
- Katrine (6/5): Convenient - but restaurant could be better - Pleasant but worn resort. New construction ongoing. Best things were kind staff and pool for the kids. Could have done without construction starting early in the morning. The internet was erratic (at best) and the restaurant really could do better. With the new construction going on I think the resort will be very different from 2017.
- Verified traveler (10/5): This hotel was just what we were looking for! - From the point of reservation, to check in and throughout, we were warmly received. The price was right and the property had all we needed. It was easy to find and right up to the water. The staff was so kind and available for all our needs. A boat ride to see the animals was quickly scheduled form the hotel's doc and everyone took care in explaining the natural beauty and culture to us. We'll definitely come again!
- Barry (8/5): A very enjoyable and memorable stay! - We have just had a great weekend at Lake Naivasha Resort. We stayed in a room rather than one of the "tents". The room was comfortable and clean, though rather "tired" - but at the price it was excellent value for that location. The water supply and the electricity did go off for awhile - but that is something we are used to in Kenya. But leaving aside those minor inconveniences, the beautiful Resort grounds, the excellent location on the lake, the helpful and friendly staff and the exciting things to do, made this a very enjoyable and memorable stay.
The complimentary cooked breakfast was excellent - lots of it and to our liking. And throughout the day you can get food at the outside bar, as well as lunch at the restaurant. Evening meals are served in the restaurant from 7.30pm and the servings are very generous.
The highlight of our stay was when we took a boat ride on the lake to a conservation area called Crescent Island (though it is actually a peninsula) where we were able to walk about with the wildlife and get up close to giraffes and zebra. There are no predators on the peninsula (except a few hyenas) so the animals are not really afraid. The impala and wildebeest were rather more shy, but we still got fairly close them as well. We also got very close to hippos on the boat ride to and from the peninsula.
Overall, we strongly recommend the Lake Naivasha Resort as a reasonably priced place to stay in this beautiful location.
