The restaurant is dying, dinner service is weak. had dinner and either was cold or overcooked, or maybe frozen taste. but needs help now. that could be a goldmine, but needs some TLC
T6223QFtimf (2/5): Scary - While the birds were very beautiful and the dining area was inviting, I was scared. There is a small road that leads up to the hotel and if you walk beware of stray dogs and guys peeing in the street. Also also after lunch around 2-230 many cars left and three people were hanging around the entrance lurking at the street to walk out. Petrified and wouldn’t go back there. Felt very unsafe. Don’t walk and stay in a group and take a taxi. I’d never return.
813DavidR (10/5): Wonderful hotel - 8 of us had Valentine lunch at this wonderful hotel overlooking the harbour. The staff, Camilla and co, could not have been more hospitable. We were offered the use of a room with shower before our flight back to UK that evening. Made a palpable difference. Very good lunch too and in what must be the finest setting in St Lucia

291genej (8/5): Bright white hotel overlooking Castries harbor. - My wife and I stayed 2 nights with a tripadvisor.com Pre Pay. After a lovely 2 hour drive(stops in Canaries, Anse La Raye and Marigot) from our stay in Soufriere, we arrived here near noon. After reviewing our reservation, the friendly receptionist said our room was ready and to follow the steward. We climbed a set of stairs passing the beautiful 36' pool, then another set to the 2nd floor. Our very clean, large room#208 had a comfortable king, desk and chair, chest with TV(70+ cable channels), stand with refer and hot pot, adequate closet and nice bathroom with shower. The large partially covered balcony has a table and 2 chairs and a long view to the harbor and setting sun. In the morning we had a beautiful view of the cruise ships gliding into the harbor. There were ample outlets, quiet AC and strong room WiFi. We passed the Massy Supermarket and Central Market on the 1.8 km coastline walk into the main square with its cathedral, library and various shops. This beautifully sited 28 room hotel likely deserves its higher prices for its good condition(24 years old) and views: for us its a bit of a splurge at US$146 per night, not including breakfast.
367kp (6/5): Nice hotel - Very small hotel and lovely. The staff goes out of there way to be pleasant and helpful to guests. Very decent for St Lucia where hotels are pretty costly. I enjoyed my stay here. Very basic accommodation.

Verified traveler (2/5): - This is a very basic, home grown hotel that charges way too much for what you get! The bed was hard, the bathroom was not clean or updated in any way. Shower leaked on the floor. Towels were small and rough. Tile floors didn't feel clean. This is a very tired property with multiple outlets that didn't work. Too many stairs that aren't safe. Not particularly helpful staff, loud music from a wedding reception. No soap in the bathroom.
V2217ERalanw (10/5): A gem in the heart of St Lucia - This hotel is is on a hill set overlooking Castries harbour Bay / Vielle Bay. On one side you may see the large cruise ships docking and in front of you are yachts and a tranquil inlet. Sometimes brief disco noise when they return but for me entertaining rather than annoying. Tho hotel is family run and the staff are delightful and long serving. Its a hotel for those that actually want to see St Lucia rather than lie on the beach in a package deal. The rooms have easy and strong wifi and all that you would expect are in the hotel or at hand. Everything, especially the pool is close. No long walks. I have been coming to St Lucia for many years and tried many other hotels, this for location and friendliness is by far the best. Get to know the staff and they will go the extra mile for you. They are authentic St Lucian's, all of who I know count as my friends
Tbrowne21 (4/5): Dated & Overpriced Hotel - I had visited St. Lucia before but stayed at a hotel located near Rodney Bay while attending the Jazz Festival and had a great time. My husband had a weeklong business meeting in St.Lucia; so I decided to join him. Upon arrival to the Auberge Seraphine...I noticed that it had an old world charm with a pond out front that had lovely lily pads & egrets. The next thing I noticed was that the property was not disabled-friendly. I have a disability that makes it hard on my knees if I have to climb stairs every day. To enter the property I had to climb stairs to enter the lobby area. Once checked in, I had another 2 sets of stairs to climb to reach our room. Upon entering the room I noticed that the room was stifling with the Caribbean heat & that the a/c had not yet been turned on (which should have been turned on if you know your guess are booked & will arrive at a certain time). The room was very spacious but very dated with basic furnishings ...and could use a thorough cleaning as there was dusk on the chair arm at the desk ( I suffer from allergies). The room had a mini fridge; however there was no bottled water provided ...though there was tea bags & coffee on top of the fridge. We had a huge patio off our room that overlooked the marina & the pool below. The patio had a very basic plastic table with 2 chairs. Inside our room the bathroom was not so nice as there was water & rust stains down the wall to the left of the sink area , the shower pressure wasn't the best, no matter how you position the shower head the water wanted to spray to the shower door and water would seep out as the door seal wasn't good.Also, I noticed the glass shower door was installed incorrectly as the bar to hang your towel was on the inside and there was a leak under our sink which I reported to the housekeeper; but no maintenance person every came...the housekeeper put an old towel as to keep the bathroom floor from being wet.The shower had shower gel & shampoo. But there were no other toiletries like lotion or shower caps offered. Every time my husband would closed the bathroom door; the draft from it would cause the patio door to shake with a loud noise. The room linens & towels have seen their time & should have been taken out of rotation...all hotel linens & towels should be of high quality. The hotel has a pool; however I skipped swimming in it as on arrival the water looked murky. The restaurant is a whole other story...on the first night I went to get some dinner and the first two items I asked to order they didn't have. So I finally decided on an entrée. I ordered my meal , only to find out that it wasn't VAT inclusive....so I literally paid almost $100 EC once the vat was added & that price didn't even include a drink. The next morning I went to the restaurant to order breakfast. Once seated the older lady on duty came off very abrasive & surly. When working in customer service; one should always be polite & accomodating to ones customers. On several occasions when my husband order breakfast ; they were out of numerous things that were listed on the menu. You'd think the chef would keep track of items to purchase & keep in stock basic items if you're running a kitchen. There should be no excuse for this as the central market is less than a 5 minute drive from their property. It's so frustrating when you order a dish that says it comes with certain items & when it comes that's not what's on your plate. This happened all week...ugh! One evening we were so tired so we decided to have dinner at the restaurant & I ordered lasagna.When the lasagna finally came out it was so thin & the corners were burnt, and they brought my salad & no dressing. When I asked for dressing ,the waiter brought it; then soon took it back as it seemed they only had one bottle of dressing. Overall the stay wasn't too bad but I wouldn't stay here again...way overpriced for the service that's provided. The front desk staff, bar staff & Steven the hotel taxi driver(Taxi a bit pricy $25 USD to go to Rodney Bay) were all friendly; but the old lady in the restaurant attitude is something else...to say the least. The hotel has so much potential to be great. However, the owner needs to take some money and do some renovation & upgrade to the property...I noticed water damage in several locations & in the ceiling (the reception area for one) and also along some of the base boards were damaged. They also need to call someone in to spray for roaches (saw a German roach in the bathroom)..I was so petrified & made sure I kept all my bags well closed as not to carry any critters home with me...yuck! Definitely not a place I would book nor suggest to any of my friends or family visiting St. Lucia.
D (6/5): - Apparently like a lot of places in Castries, the first impression is a place that was last decorated in the 70s. But it has nice touches and charm - big rooms, a decent pool, close to the city and George Charles airport if you’re there for work and the WiFi works pretty well. It is a bit expensive, but that seems to be typical for St Lucia.
EdmontonTeachergirl (10/5): I love the Auberge - I stayed here for three weeks with a group of teachers. Auberge was our home away from home. We were so well taken care of by Miriam at the front desk, Barbara and Thomas in the dining room, Claire who looked after our rooms, and Miss Camilla Joseph, the manager. During carnival it was a bit loud, but all of St Lucia is loud in carnival. The party boats coming in are a bit loud, but they are all docked by 8pm or earlier. The egrets settle down at night, the bats flap around as the sun sets, frogs chirp and the nights are quite quiet. The food in the restaurant is good and portions are large enough to share. Overall I would stay here again!

I ate at the restaurant on two occasions during my 1 night stay and was disappointed on both occasions with different staff. The front desk reception was ok but they need to train the rest of the staff. It was not good and I don’t recommend them anymore.
Sterlin29 (8/5): Great Breakfast - Visited here for breakfast one morning and the spread was excellent. There were pancakes, eggs, meats, fruits, pastries and excellent St. Lucian coffee. The staff were every friendly. The restaurant appears in the lobby and had a wonderful open air feel. The hotel is located in the middle of Castries across from the where the catamarans dock. You can also see the cruise ships there. The Prime Minister's residence is right above the hill. Scenery was excellent.
Plumbly (6/5): Could be really good, but it wasn’t - This is in a very nice and convenient location in Castries, in the inner reaches of Castries port. Good for work in the town area. The style and layout of the hotel are quite appealing, with a tropical pond and expansive terraces and a pool. My room was spacious and simply decorated. It had a nice balcony with furniture, and a pleasant view. Lots of storage and mirrors, but nothing full length. I found the wifi very good. The bed was large and comfy and the linen and towels were in nice condition (apart from one manky pillowcase). A good-sized bathroom and the shower was not bad. It could have been hotter but the pressure was decent. That said, there is rather a lot that needs to be addressed to bring the Auberge up to standard. Most bizarre was check in, after lugging my suitcase up the stairs to reception (no help offered). There were no forms to sign. I was just given my key and told they’d bring my bag up. I was not escorted to my room and had to ask for directions (it was not entirely straightforward to say the least). It wasn’t exactly unfriendly but nor did I feel very welcome. There was no in-room safe provided. They say there’s one at reception but as frequent travelers know, this really is not a convenient option. The room has some crumbling bits around the edges. In fact in places, the ceiling was flaking and had holes. In the bathroom there was no spare toilet roll. No soap was provided in the dispenser at the washbasin (body wash and shampoo dispenser in shower). I had to go back down to ask for soap for hand washing. Be aware. No drinking water is provided. This is the only hotel I’ve stayed at in the Caribbean that does not do this, and it is not good enough, as the tap water is not reliable quality. I had to buy it at the bar and because I was just recovering from food poisoning from my hotel in St Vincent, I also wanted sprite or lemonade. None available. I had to have Coca Cola to increase sugar levels, which really wasn’t the best option. Service at breakfast was surly. The waitress was rude and disinterested. Please, at least give the job to someone who wants it and is happy to welcome guests with a smile. No cocoa tea from the menu. No spoon for the coffee ( I’m now wondering if not providing requisite cutlery is a Caribbean thing). I just wanted toast and was not given an option for whole wheat. Once again, it was very disappointing to find a Caribbean hotel serving low quality imported jam. St Lucia has great fruits, grows sugar and the local jams are great. Why is there no respect for the local product? Day 2, I asked for eggs stating my preference for not too runny. The waitress just rolled her eyes at me. She then proceeded to clear the next table with clatter and loud sighs of exasperation. Any possibility that she’d been having a bad day yesterday was removed. She’s simply bad tempered. The eggs turned out okay, if a little greasy. As for the bacon, I’m reminded of the joke where the waiter asks how the patron found the steak, and he said oh I moved two peas and there it was. The service at dinner was okay, but as other reviewers have noted, some of your choices in drinks or food menu will not be available. No margarita because there is no grand mariner, no mojito because no mint, no sprite. And so it goes, in a strange game of menu bingo. No music either - instead you have no choice but to listen to the local tv or radio news blaring out. The Auberge presents itself as a fine dining restaurant so this misses the mark. Dinner itself was okay. The chicken a little dry perhaps, the sides fairly generous. The mixed vegetables were just beans, which were a bit tough and stringy . The fried plaintian was good though. Dessert was lemon cake and ice cream. Truly the thinnest slice of cake I have ever been seriously offered in my life. It came with ice cream and was dumped on the plate with no love whatsoever. The Auberge needs some improvements, and to show some love, to shift the needle.
Herbiesmom55 (8/5): Quiet relaxing hotel - This 22 room hotel has a lovely view of the water. Located near the cruise terminal it is an easy walk into town. The staff will point out the short cut. The rooms are a good size and have a frig, kettle, tea and coffee. Our room had a large balcony overlooking the water, perfect for morning coffee and staying out of the sun. No beach but a nice pool. The restaurant food was very good. Be prepared to have a second or third choice as menu items are not always available.

Harry2J (8/5): A relaxing afternoon - We were lucky to get the place to ourselves. We were looking for a place to have a quiet and enjoyable meal. After running quite a few errands within the Castries basin I decided that Auberge Seraphine would be the perfect lunch venue, and it was. Cyril greeted us, then we were escorted by our server once we decided on our table. We chose the grilled fish which we love, an excellent choice for the Caribbean.In the background was wonderful music from Italy. Setting the mood for a relaxing afternoon. A combination of potraits and paintings decorated the walls and fresh flowers were being brought in. Our meals were served in a timely manner. An excellent pea soup, grilled fish paired with creole rice,fried plantains and breadfruit and icecream and coffee for dessert. The restaurant has views of the water and cruise ship docks. We definitely enjoyed our time at Auberge Seraphine. Thank you

Haynest (8/5): Wonderful location - This is true laid-back Caribbean hospitality, so expectations need to be managed. The staff are friendly but not too much. Breakfast a hit and miss event - service is slow; the menu was extensive but not much available - e.g no cereal or yoghurt; not even the St Lucian breakfast! Dinner was similar. The bathroom was a good size with shower cubicle and toiletries provided. Decor was a little tired but clean. Room size was good with a terrace overlooking the pool and a view across Vielle Bay. The views are spoiled by floating blocks of flats that arrive from time to time but they disappear around 6pm leaving the way clear for good sunset views.
AlanaMaria (8/5): A few days of lovely - I’m in town for a funeral, sadly enough. But the quaintness of Auberge Seraphine soothed my soul. A lovely morning view of cruise ships, catamarans and a tree full of white birds greeted me every morning. A stone’s thrown away from the George Charles Airport and at the gateway to Castries, the capital, Auberge Seraphine is the perfect location for business Or other travelers. The food is deliciously creole and served with love. The atmosphere is warm, quaint and so comfortable.

Kathy (8/5): Close to the ship dock for the Windjammer - We stayed to board the windjammer cruise boat. Very close to the dock. Don't let the cab drivers bully you to purchase advance fare to the dock. It is only a 10 minute walk and we had roller bags. There is a mini fridge in the room and U reccomend buying some snacks and drinks before arriving, you can enjoy that by the pool. The air conditioning was good but noisy. My husband fixed that with wash clothes and cardboard. Everyplace on this end of the island is pricey, but the hotel was reasonable enough. $135 for the night. The mattress was hard, and I should have asked for an extra pillow, that usually helps me.
trevv2018 (6/5): The restaurant servings - The amount of food received for the price was rediculous I was shocked for a 3 course meal being so little. I had thought for such a nice environment and hefty price I would have gotten a bit more on my plate however I was in for a big surprise.

EconoVision (10/5): Hotel in tropical style, large rooms, good food, affordably priced - This hotel has large (airco) rooms, is very clean, and has a good kitchen. It has a magnificent view on the Castries Bay. The restaurant is open in the front. In front of the hotel there is a beautiful pond and tree, full of tropical birds. Good service, personnal attention.
724DavidA (10/5): Restaurant with a view. - We found this out of the way restaurant with a hotel on a Sunday when most others were closed. Good service with excellent drinks. We had catch of the day, which was well prepared. The view from the balcony was great.
Eric (6/5): Mosquito intrusion - the stay at the hotel wasn't so bad, but the bites from the MOSQUITOES were treacherous, gaps under the doors allowing them to come in, a pool of stagnant water great for breeding, definitely needed a mosquito net over my bed I have the bumps tp prove it. Other than that everything else was great.
joyanni (8/5): A beautiful little gem! - The first time I saw the hotel I was inlove. It has an extremely relaxing and homey appeal. In addition, the staff is just beautiful- from Barbara in the morning, Thomas, Cyril and Dever in the evening.
John (8/5): nice, clean, good pool, marina activities - 2 weekend stays, between sailing on Mandalay. Room 302 ok, bathroom needs basic maintenance. Room 301 better, bathroom updated. Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant very good. Easy walk to Coal Pot Restaurant and market.

Monica (8/5): - Our first room did not have the air conditioning on and it was stifling. It had a gorgeous view. There was also mold in the restroom. We were moved to a larger room and the view was ok. Bar staff were great! Hotel's location great for our boarding the barefoot sailboat - the Mandalay! We were able to walk with our luggage to board.

ccalta (6/5): Disappointing - Hotel is difficult to find. Even our cabbie got lost. You have to come in from the back side along the airport. The room was marginal for cleanliness, and the telephone didn't work and it wasn't fixed. The biggest disappointment was the restaurant. It was billed as a seafood restaurant however, on two night we couldn't get our order and on one night there was no seafood of any kind!! On our way walking back from downtown, we passed a number of tables where fishermen were selling their catch?? On our last day, we walked around the bay to a wonderful restaurant just to the west of the hotel, right on the waters edge. We had a wonderful dinner. Wish we would have tried it earlier. On the positive, the hotel is about 400m from the cruise dock and the duty free stores. It is a relatively close walk to downtown. My guess is about a kilometre. There are all kinds of cabbies ready to give you a ride just outside the cruise dock or you can catch a little ferry that zips you across the bay. The market downtown is fantastic.
J9047SAgabrielg (6/5): Excellent restaurant, good for short term visits - It is true. Facilities need some upgrading. It is also true this is not a 5-star one. But, besides of that, you will find pleasant people always keen to assist, quiet environment (even though the proximity to the airport), a very convenient location and, last but not least, an EXCELLENT restaurant that will do you forget all days' troubles.
Verified traveler (8/5): Nice old fashioned hotel - Nothing wrong with old-fashioned. Good service (special mention for Dwight at front desk), clean and comfortable room, and a good size swimming pool. The food at the restaurant was excellent, although not all items on the menu were available. Perfect location for business visitors to Castries, and next to SLU airport for regional flights.
Jan (8/5): Nice hotel close to airport in Castries - good business hotel, close to airport, nice restaurant and good food. Good and relaxing atmosphere, very friendly, understanding and helpful staff. My departure was at 17.00 in the afternoon and no problem: I could continue working in my room till checking out. Nice comfortable swimming pool. Good working air conditioner, tv with many international channels and...important: good wifi ! All together, excellent stay in St. Lucia. Note I visited Lucia for work. There are no beaches close to this hotel. However, it has a nice view on a small lively harbor. Walking to the center of town (15 minutes) brings you to shops, supermarkets, restaurants.

Sally (10/5): Excellence in Castries - Needed a hotel near the northern St Lucia airport for a Leat flight next morning. Booked this because it is right by the airport and a good price. My goodness we were surprised. Auberge Seraphin is a real treasure, with its view over the sparkling harbour, first floor terrace (a little bare) and swimming pool also looking out on the water (watch the antics of the big cruise ships coming into the tiny bay). At night lovely and peaceful. The building is modern, light and airy, well decorated and very clean. The open air restaurant has a good menu but a few things off. We decided on a pizza and they said it would take an hour. But we went for it anyway and have to say when it arrived it was about the best pizza we had ever had, everything made fresh by the chef there and then. This isn't a holiday resort, but if you want to spend a night or two in Castries or need to be near the northern airport. Auberge Sweaphin is a perfect choice.
Verified traveler (4/5): Much room for improvement - Hot water was a rare commodity. First day, it took forever to get hot; Second and third days, it took a long time and been the only became Luke warm. The restaurant staff was surly.

Chris (10/5): Great spot and easy acces to and from the airport - Landed, booked in and relaxed all in the space of 45minutes - then enjoyed the evening meal with a local beer and steak .. busy place with people also enjoying the restaurant as well as the pool. My second visit in two years and staff rememberd my face and made me feel welcome.

Fanon (10/5): Great overnight - It's a great typical hotel next to a little lake that has lots of beautiful white birds! The place beautiful and quite! Very nice service! Near the smaller airport and about 1 1/2 hr from the bigger international airport!
Claire (10/5): Overnight stay after flight - Just an overnight after flying into Castries in the evening, hotel is very nice but some work needed for maintenance (broken toilet paper holder in bathroom, broken loungers by pool), nothing to affect your stay though. The hotel is down a back road very close to the airport but not walking distance to the town. You would want a car.
Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful view of marina - On our first day there (a Tuesday) the restaurant was out of 2 main dishes because they didn't have the ingredients and told us they only sold wine by the bottle. Although we saw 2 other customers get served a glass of wine. The room was missing soap and enough towels for all of our guests. Bed and pillow were comfortable and it was a quiet, relaxing hotel to come back to after busy days.

Arlene (8/5): 3 night stay for business - highly recommend. - My stay was good. I was able to invite guests to have lunch or drinks at the restaurant and bar. That was super convenient. The room was large and clean with everything one could need. Location is a bit removed from downtown, so taxis were used. Some guests do opt to walk. Hotel is very close to Vigie airport - about 5-7 mins. Definitely worth the rate. Dwight at reception was excellent and recommended Stephen as my taxi. Great recommendation.

Justin (4/5): Only good for a quick 1 night stay - Room pretty sparse. towels and amenities very basic. had a real problem with mosquitos in the room. Bar and restaurant incredibly overpriced. only 6 - 8 chairs and 1 sun lounger by the pool. When there are cruise ships in, all the crew come to hang out by the pool and take up all the chairs and tables as the hotel offers free internet. If you are looking for a hotel where you can relax for a few days by the pool, this isn't the place to go. Recommend it only for a one night business stay, where you need to be close to downtown. take the option of paying at the hotel as opposed to paying online at teh time of booking as the exchange rate works better fro you. Was quoted $130 per night, when i paid at the hotel, it was only $108
F (4/5): No Airport Shuttle, More - We were told that the airport shuttle was complimentary and included but we were forced to pay the driver $80 US when we arrived at hotel. Desk person coldly told us that Expedia keeps dong that even though she has told them not to. !!!!!!!!!!!! Hotel itself is quite nice but in a poor and shabby area
Kesha (6/5): Short and cute - I would say that my stay was short and cute. The hotel is charming. You get a nice local feel. It is next to a little alcove with a little marina. After a little problem, they gave me a room change and my one night stay took on a pleasant turn. The room is not very sumptuous but it is spacious, clean and gives more than you expect. A tip for the ladies: go there when you are travelling light please. There is no elevator and my post Christmas shopping suitcase almost hurt the poor porter. But he was man enough to put on a brave face. I will definitely stay there again.
