Clarissa (4/5): Disappointing Bed & Breakfast - We were expecting a New England B&B experience and it felt more like an unkept home. The check-in was strange keys were left at the front and Scan a code that did not work . Breakfast was with the inn keepers kids that were very active and misbehaving . They were running around touching the guests food. Then we wanted to sit at the deck for coffee . The chairs were dirty and all wet . The room was clean but so small that were were not able to move around . Overall, it was a disappointing experience. Not like the description on the website . In addition, it was a little far from the town center and pricey .

The location is perfect with access to near by activities, including many restaurant choices. This is a lovely place to stay!

The Inn supplied white noise machines but you can still hear talking and slamming doors thru the night. There was no water pressure at all in the shower, so you’re not able to wash your hair.
Madison (10/5): Perfect cozy stay in Stowe - Amazing second stay at Timberholm Inn. We absolutely love it here. The place is so cozy and welcoming. Absolutely love the homemade breakfast every morning and we made great use of the hot tub each night. Can’t wait to come back next year!
Gregory (8/5): - A really nice B&B ! The Lounge area/Dining room and Fireplace are beautiful. Hannah made an awesome breakfast assortment in the morning. The bed/firmness of our mattress was a little soft, and the foot traffic from the room above us was excessive due to a late night check-in. I would suggest placing a sign right on the 2nd floor beds about not wearing shoes that affect people below. Otherwise, great location and good value.
Tammy (6/5): - I was very dissatisfied with the outdoor space due to it, not being cleaned off at all there was debris the entire time we were there. You were unable to go out on the deck at all due to this. I’m aware you can’t control the weather conditions, but you can clean it at least daily or every other , some kind of effort.. The parking lot did not have enough spots for everyone , so it was double parked at times. Three or four times a night we would be woken up from the upstairs people, I believe they live there. It sounded like they were bowling upstairs. Everyone staying there was quite nice. I believe it’s a nice place to stay if you want just to sleep as long as upstairs people could be quiet. I have stayed in quite a few bed-and-breakfast‘s, and always enjoyed them, but I believe this was my last one.
Michael (10/5): - Stowe is firmly implanted in my brain as an amazing place to visit, and the Timberholm plays a big part of this. Just a few minutes drive outside of the town centre, it's easily accessible and yet far away enough that it feels secluded and peaceful. What a gorgeous lodge too, with all kinds of activities and a huge fireplace with roaring flames if you just want to chill. Breakfast is included and served fresh, and the rooms are small but perfect. The bed was the comfiest I've stayed in for years.
Edward (10/5): Romantic Getaway - Beautiful location and views!! Peaceful and serene setting. Very helpful staff. Hanna is just AMAZING!!! Checking in was a 1 minute process. Scan a QR put in a line or two of info and DONE!!! Lodge is rustic. Massive stone fireplace. Great room filled with an eclectic mix of comfortable couches and chairs. Rooms are a little snug. The bed we had was comfortable. Another highlight over the views... BREAKFAST!!! Bacon, eggs, freshly baked Muffins, Coffee cake, Bagels and more!!! We will be back for the bacon alone!! Thick sliced and crispy!! We arrived the day after a snowfall and there were still a few flurries which made the views even more stunning!!

Todd (6/5): - Pretty scenery, nice setting and location. Linden Room is very small...just big enough for some space around bed and one suitcase. Internet and tv service is spotty. Tv doesn't allow access to common things like Monday Night Football. Overall room was clean and facilities maintained well. There was quite a bit of dust on lamps and tv. Beautiful grounds. Check in was automatic and easy. We were surprised that innkeeper wasn't there to greet us at 6 pm checkin, but it worked out well. Overall good experience but disappointed by tiny room size.

Fiona (4/5): Not worth the money, find somewhere better. - We wouldn’t stay here again, we had this booked since the 26th October 2023, and they took payment immediately at the time of booking. If we were to cancel before 4th September 2024, there was to be a charge of £20.66 to do so. We then got an email prior to arrival on the 8th of September ((after the cancellation period) to say that they would impose a further $30 CLEANING FEE on top of what we had already paid! I really don’t think this is a fair way of doing things at all. To cancel would have cost us $27 to do so, but they impose the cleaning charge which we object to as my husband was checking the room before we left and looked under the bed to ensure we had left nothing behind and suffice to say, their cleaning charge is a joke as there was so much fluff, dust and hair underneath the bed and they have the audacity to charge $30 when clearly they haven’t done a sufficient job in the first place. Had we known about this additional “cleaning charge” we would have used the extra money to book alternative accommodation of a higher standard. In all our years of travelling, we have never had such a charge imposed. We did not see or meet “ Hannah” at all during our stay, breakfast was just ok, we were relieved we only booked one night here.

Robert (8/5): - This is a quaint old ski dorm in a beautiful wooded setting near Stowe. “Quaint” means somewhat rundown, needing of maintenance, makeshift AC, but cute. The landscape is a bright spot, as well as the breakfast, and the friendliness of the one person on the staff. It is over-priced, which probably reflects the Stowe area. It is a place to lay your head, but not a destination of itself. Net, a generally pleasant experience but will likely not use again, or at least until some basic improvements are made to the facilities

Edward (10/5): Clean, Comfortable, and Nice views - We had a lovely stay at the Timberholm over July 4th weekend. Our room was clean and small, but the large living room gave us plenty of space to lounge around the inn. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, much more than I expected including homemade muffins and pastries along with a hot buffet. The large deck offers nice mountain views and is perfect for nighttime stargazing. Finally, the location is within walking distance of some breweries, bars, and restaurants. I'll definitely go back.

We particularly want to thank Hannah for moving breakfast up a half an hour, so that we could get to the UVM graduation on time. She went out of her way to give us a full breakfast, on short notice.

No noisy bar, little rooms with heavenly bed, quiet lovely setting, spacious living room with a big fireplace and cosy big sofas and chairs. Not fancy, priced right, and after our delicious breakfast, we swore to make this a special escape in any season. And next time plan on using" the hot tub.!

Merrisa (10/5): - I was recently hired to photograph a proposal in VT. The original plan fell through so we came up with the plan of doing it on Timberholms beautiful property. The staff there helped us out by putting the ring that was shipped to the hotel in my room and accepting the flowers my client ordered for his now fiancé. I was able to set up the spot, and the proposal went really well! The staff is amazing, and the rooms were cozy!

The staff were so friendly and create a warm and homely environment for all the guests. Hannah, the innkeeper, made a fantastic breakfast including a delicious vegan option for my partner. The lounge was really cosy and had an extensive board game selection which we made use of in the evenings, as well as hot drinks available at all times. The Timberholm Inn was beautiful and we would absolutely return!

alan (8/5): Lovely hotel in scenic location, helpful hosts - Hotel is in a great location set in a forested area with amazing views from veranda and garden out of the back. The people are extremely helpful and friendly. The layout of the hotel with breakfast facilities sharing tables with other guests generates making new friends and conversing with other people very easy. The bedrooms are quite small and compact but do have all facilities. Maybe a bit of a squeeze if you are a larger couple.

mitchell (8/5): Choose Your Room Wisely - The location, views, overall amenities and staff friendliness make this place worth visiting again. Do not pick the Cedar Room. To call that glorified closet a room is blasphemy. Smaller than a cruise cabin. Having to turn sideways to brush your teeth was a new experience. Noisy and paper thin walls were not an issue for us, but, it might be for other travelers.

Michael (10/5): - My wife an I loved the staff there. The place is small enough so that we really felt like we had the entire building to ourselves! They made us breakfast every morning and even asked us what we would like to eat the next day! The only thing that I could see people complain about is how easy it is to hear from room to room. It is after all an old building. It was an overall excellent experience for us. We will be back!
Virginia (4/5): - They billed me for two rooms though I had only reserved one. Rooms are so small the bed takes up the whole space. Door to the hall let in a lot of light at night. The door to the bathroom in my room stuck badly. Also very inconvenient getting around the door to get to the toilet

Dana (6/5): Four day vacay - I don’t want to give a “bad” review because for the price, it was fine. Just a few things that lacked expectations that I am used to in accommodations. The room condition was good. Clean, beautiful view. Bed was ok, old and lumpy. The biggest issue with the room was being able to literally hear everything in other rooms. Even people snoring. Breakfast was good, but served later like 8 or later which we didn’t partake but once because being there to ski, we left before breakfast served. Another thing about breakfast was the woman who was cooking, her kids were there going from table to table to the guests. They were maybe 5-7 years old but I could tell one couple was very annoyed because they were just trying to enjoy their breakfast and the children literally sat at there table with them and wouldn’t leave them alone. My boyfriend and I both have adult children so it’s not that we don’t like kids, but don’t want to be bothered by them on our vacation. The kids were also the only people we saw upon checkout. I put the key in the basket on the desk and the kid took it out…I’m hoping it got to the manager. I didn’t like not seeing anyone at the desk to chat/greet. The only person we ever saw was the woman cooking. The first time we saw her she never said anything. The second time she said hi and asked how we were. The hot tub was broken the first night but was fixed quickly. The game room is cool but we couldn’t play shuffle board bc there was no sand. Great location
Sharon (10/5): - The breakfast was outstanding! Fresh fruit, homemade scones and muffins, and a hot option each morning - bacon and eggs one day, crepes another. It was fun hanging out by the fire in the main room with the other guests and we felt like guests in someone’s home. The bed was super comfy but the bathroom was is in need of major updates. Overall, however, we enjoyed the rustic atmosphere.

The building is older and has some quirks (such as being a little noisy and heating being a little inconsistent), but gives you an old-school ski lodge experience with modern conveniences. The owners are wonderful and friendly; Valerie offered great conversation and tips for our long weekend in Stowe. We were able to take full advantage of the common area, which includes a huge fireplace, seating areas, and the tables where the included breakfast is served. The breakfast was amazing and we took advantage of both the sit down breakfasts and the ski breakfast (basically, a brown bag breakfast with egg sandwich, coffee, fruit and other snacks!). I'll definitely be back!!

The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was incredible, and the location was perfect- just a short drive to the mountain! The innkeeper, Valerie, was so friendly and accommodating during our stay. On ski days, she puts together a breakfast to-go bag and it made getting out the door early so much easier. Definitely one of the best places to stay in Stowe!

Jennifer (10/5): - Our stay at Timberholm Inn was wonderful. The information on the Inn's website was spot on. Our room was small - or what our host Valerie referred to as "cozy" - but it was clean and comfortable. The rest of the Inn was large enough for us to spread out while not in our room. Timberholm Inn was just off the main road that we felt like we were in the Vermont countryside, but we were still a short drive to restaurants. We were in Stowe due to its close access to hiking. We started our days with a hearty and warm breakfast at the Inn, did our hiking, and came back to a hot and clean shower. We went out for a bite to eat and returned to the Inn to play cards at one of the two dining room tables, while other guests ate their take out meals at the other table. Valerie's cooking was a great start to the day, especially combined with her outgoing personality. She made everyone who was there feel like we were her most favorite guests. One evening someone who was staying there had a flat tire. Valerie was able to connect the guest with a local mechanic and the tire was fixed first thing the next morning. If we were ever to go back to Stowe, we'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

We booked one of the smaller rooms with a views out back towards the mountains and loved the serene nature views and sounds! Valerie was amazing, so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and kept us full all day while we explored Stowe! Short walk or bike ride to many popular places, and the bike path will take you all through the area. We loved the deck, the lawn, the great room, decor, and nice touch with the sound machine in the room! The Inn is vintage, cozy, and creeky, so the machine helped us sleep sound! I would definitely recommend and would definitely stay here again!

In addition to providing an early gluten free breakfast for our daughter one of the mornings, she organized an amazing pot-luck dinner Christmas night that included all her guests.
