- Tejeda (10/5): Realistic and balanced review - During my recent stay at Baymont by Wyndham Cookeville, I had a very positive experience and felt compelled to share it because many of the reviews here do not reflect what I personally experienced. First, the staff and management were incredibly kind and helpful. My flight was delayed, so I arrived later than expected for check-in, and they still accommodated me without any issue. As an international traveler, my credit card was temporarily blocked by my bank (they suspected fraud because of the foreign transaction). The family managing the hotel patiently helped me work through the situation until everything was sorted out. That kind of understanding and patience goes a long way when you're far from home. The room and bathroom were clean, and the general facilities were also well maintained. Yes, the building itself is older, but it’s clear that the people running the place do their best to keep everything tidy and functional. Regarding breakfast, it was perfectly adequate for a morning meal. There was enough variety to start the day, and honestly it was exactly what most travelers would expect from a hotel breakfast. They even went out of their way to help me with dinner, which I truly appreciated after a long travel day. Something I think people should remember is that Cookeville is a small town, not a major metropolitan city. Expecting a massive luxury buffet or a brand-new building like you would find in a large city isn’t very realistic. What matters most to me when traveling is cleanliness, safety, and respectful treatment, and this hotel delivered all three. Overall, I’m grateful for the hospitality I received and would happily stay here again if I return to Cookeville. The unfairness of the bad reviews.

- Dreamer54312274806 (2/5): HORRIBLE and very DISAPPOINTED!!! - I paid for the hot tub room after getting off the road for me to get a nasty room I cleaned the room and hot tub then noticed it wasn’t a stopper I go to front counter for refund because they didn’t want to help me at all saying I only need a bed that’s not why I paid $114 plus $100 deposit for then charge $20 tfor cleaning fee when I’m the 1 who cleaned the tub etc didn’t have tap pay and atm wasn’t working I had to drive and find something open for atm for all this been going there for years now but to get off the hwy from a funeral to pull up to all this did it for me I WILL NEVER RETURN THERE AGAIN !!!! 🤬🤬🤬 Been a Wyndham reward member since 2012 smh

- Darlene (1/5): - I had booked 1st floor room and when arriving I was given 2nd floor but staff (reluctantly) gave me 1st floor. No smoke detectors in room (212), dirty room, bed linens dirty, chips in walls, phone in room not hooked up/working. Once inside there is no handicap access to the entrance area without going back outside. No elevators, so if you have mobility issues, please beware!!!

- Ashley (1/5): FRAUDULENT MANAGEMENT BE AWARE - nothing. they have zero accommodation on price for longer stays with a pet. they do not advertise their actual pet policy anywhere on booking or website prior to booking. only after you book do they tell you they only allow up to 35lb dogs and the fee is for every night with no accommodation on price for a longer stay. you try to cancel IMMEDIATELY upon learning this info from there thank you for booking email (within 15 minutes) and they keep telling you every time you call that they’ll refund the full amount but never actually do. instead they’ll charge your card for the ENTIRE STAY even when it was already canceled and then drag out a partial refund. fraudulent management

- Jeff (2/5): - This was a dingy, dilapidated, bug infested, nightmare. I made the mistake of trying to sleep in the bed and woke up with bites on my feet and legs. I pulled back the sheets to see if I could find bedbugs. I could not see them, but the bites came from something. There was animal hair around the sheets at the foot of the bed. I immediately showered and gathered up my things and left the room at 2:10 AM. I dropped the key and tried to see if the night manager would give me a refund but he refused. He offered no apologies and no solutions I will request that my credit card company Pull back the payment.

- MaryLou (6/5): - The Hotel is very old. It needs some updating and is under staffed. The Breafast is ceareal waffle juice yoguart and Coffee. No oatmeal Bgels or fruit or grain free or sugerfree or eggs for dia betics! Also on hotel.com the handicapp room is not offered and there is up charge $25 more and for dogs $20 so this place was a lot more than exspected. Managent was very polite and will fix a problem asap himself if needed!

- Suzanne (8/5): - The motel was a bit dated but very comfortable and clean, with exception to the ceiling vent which had dirt and mold on it. I was disappointed that they would not recognize my dogs support animal paperwork. I was, however, glad that they accepted dogs. Pre check-in was very efficient.
- Karla (2/5): - Awful! Dont stay or bring your own blankets and cleaning supplies! There are cheaper and cleaner hotels just a little farther down the road. We drove in Labor day got there around 11. I was exhausted after driving 13 hours. Check in was fine they wanted a $100 deposit in addition to the room amount. I paid in cash because they said it would take 7-10 days to go back on my card. We went up to our room. The hallway was dark and sketchy. Walked in and immediately checked for bed bugs. It passed the inspection. I noticed some dark stains on the coverlet but the sheets were fine so i tossed the blanket in the floor and passed out didnt take photos. Got up at 5 to shower and that's when we discovered how NASTY it really was. We know that its supposed to be done fast but sheesh. The vent over the toilet was solid fuzz. The shower curtian was cloth and torn with stains. Black ash smudges in the shower on top of the soap container and mildew on the tile. After showering i used my rag just to see if the mildew and ash came off, and it did. Someone didnt even try. I wore my slippers and socks in the room bc the floors were crazy sticky. If i hadnt been so tired i probably would have changed hotels but i didnt think i could make it another one or even wait to get a different room. We went to check out and the guy runs up, looks at our room blames us for the stains and tries to keep the $100. My mom explains. He gives it back and then charges my card 2 days later. DONT STAY HERE
- Joanna (2/5): Never stay here - Our first room was filthy and under construction.Then when we asked to move to another room as the shower was filled with construction debris they told us if we messed with they beds they will charge us a cleaning fee. Then when we asked for more towels they said they would deliver to room next day if we really needed them. We weee a family of six and only three towels were in room so yes we needed them. The next morning we all tripped on the hazardous stairs that had aluminum edge and loose tile. The breakfast was a joke. There were twinkies and hostesses cupcakes and stale cereal that’s it. What a shame beautiful location but horrible nasty place.

- vowels (1/5): Will never stay again. - Location and price. Wife woke up with a roach crawling on her face. We left immediately and contacted the front desk. Had to call multiple times to speak with a manager to get a refund. Not worth the money you think you are saving staying here.

- elizabethwP3543OX (2/5): Never come here, save yourself the trauma - Save yourself the headache and never come here. The room was humid and musty. The Internet is unsecured and very slow, there was what looked like a baking pan that was screwed into the wall and painted over. Oh, and when we got a new hotel room but kept the one that sucks here in case we needed it since we already payed for it. THEY RENTED IT OUT TO SOMEONE ELSE WHILE I WAS STILL PAYING FOR IT. And of course they didn’t refund me for all the days that they had rented out the room I PAYED FOR

- G4936NOjerryc (2/5): WORST STAY AND STAFF EVER EXPERIANCED - *****ADVISE NOT TO STAY***** I want to start by saying i have a autistic sibling with OCD. whenever she uses the restroom she must shower. also have a small 16 year old dog thats loosing control of her bladder! Bless there hearts. So issues begun when entered the room, believe the bedding hadn't been changed due to cigarette burns on the duvet & it been thrown together! So there is a lack of effort from the staff! Which are very rude including the so called "manager" possibly owners!? Refused us any clean towels & bedding after a couple days of the four day stay, with attitude at that. not to mention how the woman had tried to walk into our room thinking we was gone when we hadn't answered when she knocked saying the room smelled like smoke, yet we are none smokers! Luckily the top lock was locked!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The Bad: Lots of Mold, room stank, flies and roaches, remote batteries died, poor water pressure in shower, ringer on phone did not work, pillows were limp. The Good: A/C unit goes below 65 ! Very nice and accommodating staff. Great coffee. Staff offered to change my room out. Bed was wonderful.

- Melanie (6/5): - Our room was difficult to find, and after finally finding it, the key wouldn't open the door, after going back to the lobby to get the key reprogrammed, it did open the room but couldn't access the fitness room. And when I went to use the coffee maker the water just leaked out everywhere. It was clean the desk guy was nice and the pool looked nice. But it was just a subpar experience. So my rating is just okay.
- kimble (1/5): looking for a new hotel - we love the location. close to area where we need. the view is pretty. we were overchrged more than once. our first room was covered in mold. The mold was in the bathroom, on the curtains at the window, as well as on the walls next to the beds. Sheet were stained and dirty. when we booked there was no mention of a deposit but when we got to hotel there was one of 100. we were overcharged on that as well
- Lauren (1/5): - Convenient, right off of the interstate When we arrived and made it to our room the inside of the hotel smelled bad and like cigarettes. We got inside the room and in less than 5 mins we found cockroaches, all alive. I politely went to the desk where I had to wait for 5-10 mins for lady to return and the phone was ringing off the hook. She was nice enough to refund the stay so I appreciate that.

- Ken (2/5): - Never again it’s set up for the homeless very dirty black mold water from the mini fridge leaking water all over the floor and the thing that pissed me off I’m disabled and it was not handicap accessible at all

- Jason (2/5): - It smelled like someone peed in a Clorox bottle and sprayed it around the room. After securing late checkout (11:30), the staff entered the room twice without knocking (10:40, 11) and then knocked again at 11:15. Their coffee-flavored water is also ass.
- Karen (4/5): - Well, when we checked in the front desk staff gave me our room key, went upstairs to put stuff in the room and it was already occupied by others, went back to the front desk and told her and she was very nonchalant about it. I informed her that it could of been a very bad situation walking in on people in their room. The room had a few repairs that was done was not complete,the toilet was very far away from the wall, water pressure in the shower was very low. Breakfast options was a joke. The good thing about it was their is a Mexican restaurant next door.

- Harold (10/5): Go to Baymont - After after having had a hard day of driving it was such a blessing to come to a place I didn’t realize it was the same place I’ve been before it has a wonderful Mexican restaurant by it but I had one of the closest rooms that had been redone and the bed was amazing And I literally crashed and I wish they opened earlier and had coffee going but it was overall well worth it and more than worth it
