For us it is a perfect one-night stop when travelling to our apartment between Valencia and Alicante. Everything one could want from an hotel

- Noel (10/5): - Fantastic hotel when driving through Spain, it's a lovely place to break up the journey the grounds are stunning, there is a swimming pool available for guests you can hire towels for 5 eurossave you worrying about drying, we were given a choice of 2 rooms on arrival we chose the 4 poster bed,which was lovely then we found a suprise behind the door a balcony, evening meal and breakfast were included in the price, food is very good I would recommend this hotel it's the 3rd time we have stayed here

Por poner alguna cosa a mejorar, decir que las cortinas y los oscurecedores estaban puestos en la misma barra, por lo que no podían cerrar bien y por la mañana entraba la claridad en cuanto amaneció, pero por lo demás, todo estupendo. - Christine (10/5): - Always an absolute pleasure to stay in this wonderful hotel. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The rooms (especially the suites!) are so comfortable and charming. The attention to detail is amazing. We enjoyed a delicious meal with great wines. Love the secure parking too.
- Ernesto (10/5): Beautiful castle hotel - Fun place to be especially with kids. We booked a room and indicated we have a child. We got a room with a regular bed and a bunk bed. My son loved it and was excited that he got to sleep in a bunk bed. He also loved the fact that he got to sleep in a castle. The venue is also beautiful for parties and weddings. It can get a bit loud if they have a wedding going on if you are sensitive to noise. We didn’t mind and it added to the fun. Breakfast was a basic buffet with some hot items and continental breakfast. There is plenty of free parking onsite. There are 3 EV charging stations. The hotel charges a flat fee (currently €20) for usage per charge. Location is off the main highway. It’s about 30 min from the Zaragoza city center. There is not much within walking distance nearby Overall it’s a great family hotel

- Malcolm (10/5): Convenient for Travellers - Easy to find, the hotel has a large carpark and conveniently located next to a major trunk route. Checking in at the Reception was easy.
- Peter (10/5): Three weddings, an anniversary in castle heaven - A break in journey between Bilbao & Javea, also our 51st anniversary. I told the hotel of this and there was a bottle of good cava chilling in our room and red ‘flower petals’ scattered on the floor. I had expected a charge but there wasn’t. Three weddings were being celebrated that day so lots of excitement but zero inconvenience or disturbance. I was a little concerned that the Castillo effect might be a bit tacky but it is a tremendous atmosphere, with grandeur and attention to detail. Dinner was great, staff lovely, especially Elizabeth in the dining hall What more can I say other than I look forward to my next visit !

The poor sleep we had ruined the whole stay and, sadly, we would not return. Please, please, review your mattresses and bring them to the quality of the rest of your quite stunning hotel.

I rang Reception to be told the music was scheduled until 4am - not funny when we were faced with a long drive ahead of us . However Reception came up and gave us another room at 2am . The breakfast was ok next day but we were too tired to enjoy it . Im not against anyone having a good time but feel the Hotel should have informed us or put us in a quiet room to start off with

The hotel it's self had character, we've stayed there several times before and the other rooms were better. This stay, the room was very basic.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - Interesting building, clean& warm room, comfortable bed. Restaurant food quite good with wine and water included. Plenty of parking adjacent to the hotel. Downsides: Hotel is next to a busy trunk road, so easy to find but constant heavy traffic. The room was at the back of the hotel so noise did not intrude. The en suite was ok but a towel rack had been fitted which almost blocked the entrance to the shower. Also, water from the shower had leaked into the wall causing a wet/damp patch in the main room. Overall, good value for money and fine for an overnight stop. .

This should be made clear on the website and pointed out at time of booking a Sunday night. We had a lovely dinner at a restaurant across the busy road.

- Verified traveler (8/5): One night stay for business - Drove to the hotel and found it difficult to turn into the hotel as i approached from the "wrong direction" and turning "left" across the road was impossible as the road was very busy so i had a 10 minute detour away from the hotel to enable me to turn around and head back to the hotel on the correct side of the road to enter the hotel parking area...(maybe use google maps to see what i mean). The hotel played loud music outside in the garden area which you can hear in the room but it stopped at about half 11. Apart from the music the hotel room was roomy, clean and the bed comfortable, shower water pressure was good. I had my evening meal in the onsite restaurant and i would recommend (good food at decent prices).
- Julian (8/5): Overnight stop enroute to Caen, France - This was our second visit to this hotel, the last being a year ago. We thought the cleanliness had deteriorated. The dinner was excellent as was reception but the breakfast dishes were not replenished and there appeared to be no one looking after the buffet. On the bed there was a hard bolster for a pillow. We found other pillows in the wardrobe but they had no pillow slips on so wondered how they are cleaned? Overall we liked Castle Bonavia but feel they need to raise the level of care. The value for half board is excellent

Went to bar to order a drink, and staff were just too busy I guess to help us. Hotel is way out of the way from anything. And the one night we stayed there the restaurant was closed. good thing we had snacks with us. Hotel is Ok if you need somewhere to just sleep for the night if you are in between locations.

- michael (8/5): Great Value - Safe and Pleasant Staff! - This is a great value property that was rescued and redone. I would stay here again - very safe and the staff was friendly and the place was very clean. We were near the highway and not the hotels fault but the windows had to be open (no a/c) and a bus pulled in to get gas at 0445 and it sounded as if everyone on the bus was at a party - it obviously woke us up but its minor. The buffet was great lots of choices - only thing that needs attention is the warmth of the food specifically the eggs. They were not exactly warm but were not "old" looking either. Microwave helped :-)

- Sheri (6/5): Interesting - Rather fake castle but still interesting job of it. When booking they should let you know that the restaurant is closed on Mondays. The hotel is out in the middle of nowhere so food should be available. You have to run across the highway to a truck stop that is NOT a very good option. Breakfast was more than adequate.

- Dean (10/5): Magical Castle - Was not expecting too much considering the reasonable rates, however am now left in limbo as to whether I tell anyone how good this place is. Travelling with wife and two boys u13 the modern take on a castle really works. Staff are attentive and good humoured to even basic attempts at their language. The only negative is there appear to be only a couple of staff working at the bar /restaurant at any time. Ignore the reviews which say breakfast is poor if you have kids who sneak a couple of e-number rich doughnuts in their pockets this is a great place. I expect this is a great. wedding hotel and I suspect there are many couples who have had a great day here. The grounds are very nice. Last comment, menu of the day €14, is the best value in Spain. Absolutely excellent.

- Elizabeth (8/5): Good Room. Nice Parking. Ants. - Good location for travelers in car. The staff seems really indifferent. The room has small ants, which is not so terrible but yes annoying if you want to do your stretching/yoga. The room is spacious. We enjoyed also having the balcony. A/C works well.
- Catalina (10/5): Beautiful hotel near Zaragoza - You feel like staying in a real castle. The hotel is beatiful, the room where we stayed was cozy (it had a balcony), and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

- DAVID (10/5): concienent and very clean hotel - Very convenient over night stop from Bilbao to Alicante. Room was very clean and comfortable. A full choice of breakfast food including cereals, continental style cold meats, fruits , juices, tea , coffee, scrambled eggs ,bacon ,sausage etc. Help yourself to as much as you want to fill up for the day ahead. Room was quiet despite being alongside the busy N232. Reasonable prices for evening meal in restaurant if required.
- Rod (6/5): Right side of the road!! - This journey was a new experience. With limited directions (post code) we eventually arrived and found the main road with bumper to bumper traffic, single lane. It's pitch black and dazzling lights. Sat nav says you are here but double white lines and oncoming traffic mean a detour to get yourself on the right side. So plan your route carefully. Once there it was easy to park, quirky, and all good. An English couple helped with the Spanish menu and breakfast was great. Great nights sleep. If we travelled this route again would most definitely stay there again

- John (8/5): Great Medievil Theme. Comfy, excellent value. - Very interesting stay. Themed as a Medievil Castle and a good job of it too. Room was comfortable and clean and the wifi was good. The 'menu of the day' was excellent value in the restaurant, three courses and included a BOTTLE of red wine and water for €14.90. The only thing letting it down was the service wasn't exactly customer friendly. I was there for a meeting at Genetal Motors / Opel, which was only 10 mins away... Perfect for that, and I will stay again.

- Hugh (8/5): Overnight stop at the unique Castillo Bonavia - Overnight stop only while crossing Spain by car. Value for money was excellent as was accommodation and dinner. Hotel was very busy this visit as there was three weddings on the Saturday. Bit noisy but great atmosphere though. We will be back next year.
- Sinead (6/5): Wedding venue - We stayed one night only en route down to Mojácar. Although it is a mock castle, it was very nice. It's not exactly central to anything but it suited our needs for the night whilst travelling. I had 4 kids and a dog with me and I found the parking good and there were outdoor gardens catering for weddings. The staff were all friendly and the only downside is that it was so near a main road. As I had approached the hotel from the back( near village of Pedrola) it seemed quite rural until I heard the traffic and noise from the front .
