Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room smells, no breakfast, rooms well worn, I’ll say no more.
- Stephen (8/5): - Room was clean. Ac was cold. Bed comfy. Shower was great! A nice quiet and peaceful nights rest.
- Toby (4/5): - Bugs in my room. Everything was so full of humidity that even the bugs in the bed sheets were wet. Wont be coming back
- VICTORIA (10/5): - Great stay with family while visiting New Town. Thanks!
- Clare (8/5): - Nice place to stay
- DAVID (8/5): Two days at Van Hook - Bed was very comfortable! Front desk person was very helpful! Location was convenient to my destination.
- DeeAnn (6/5): - Morning breakfast is bad. Ran out silverware and coffee cups. Told front desk which over looks the breakfast area, but never restocked and that was out 7:30 in the morning.
- Paul (4/5): - Double billed. Crappy breakfast no syrup cold food. No milk coffee sucked
- Morris (10/5): Late night - Do to the festivals we got to the hotel late and there was a night clerk this was awesome
- Cynthia (10/5): - Great customer service, clean rooms and enjoyable blackout shades.
- Lynn (10/5): Repeat customer - I have stayed at this property multiple times before. It is small but convenient, clean, and quiet. There is a truck stop and a bar/restaurant on either side of the property.
Great location for my needs when I am in the area.
- William (8/5): - The room was good.
- Miranda (10/5): - It's aways out if your planning to attend festivities in town but the property is clean, rooms are spacious and very pet friendly. Will visit again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was good and clean..
- Harold (6/5): - Strong odor in room. Inconsistent with choice and availability of breakfast items. Ice not always available.
- Gene (8/5): - Blue collar, functional, solid B accommodation
- Shawn (10/5): Fishing trip - Breakfast was not good but everything else was fine
- Amanda (6/5): - Staff was friendly. The room smelled bad.
- Jessica (8/5): - Would give it higher stars, but whatever they use to scent the room was way too much.
- Randy (8/5): - The motel rooms were nice and clean, the beds were very comfortable. The employees though seem very grumpy. You asked to make question is like they were going out of their way to help you. As for the breakfast, can’t say a lot good about it if you’re a protein person you get besides the hard boiled egg. I expected a better breakfast.
- Janice (6/5): - The cleaning staff did a great job the room was nice and clean, the property is kind of blah, I only got one flat pillow. The check in staff made me feel like I was bothering her. Not sure I’d stay again, if I did it’s because the room was very clean.
- Blaine (10/5): I stay here once a month - I cant pinpoint exactly why, but of all the hotels I stay at I sleep the best at this one. Just a comfy atmosphere and good staff.
- Val (10/5): - The price and the cleanliness. Very friendly. Nice breakfast area and good food.
- Jeff (8/5): - Modern property that is used primarily by construction/oil field workers. Quiet location, comfortable beds and good black out curtains. Negative is it is far from New Town and the Four Bears Casino and the front desk staff is inexperienced and take forever to check you in. Breakfast is only served until 9 AM even on the weekend! There is a decent restaurant nearby for lunch and dinner which is a plus. I would stay there again but it wouldn't be my 1st choice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Just traveler - It’s good n friendly people I would encourage my family to stay there
- Laurie (10/5): - This property is hard to find. Google map stops you I. The middle of nowhere. It is tucked in the hill by a big truck stop and the ranch men’s steakhouse that you do see on the highway. It was a clean and quiet stay, but our room was super humid and had a de-humidifier in it that said it needed a filter change. The room did smell damp so luckily I could open the window. It was nice and clean though. Good bedding. Bud stay again now that I know where it is. I see people that are towing things se to stay there , maybe because it’s quiet and safer.
- Randy (10/5): - Quiet and a rural setting.
- Wanda (2/5): - We did not get to stay there. We had a reservation, received a call a few days before we were due to check in, was told our room had a permanent resident staying there. We had a tough time by then finding a handicap room. I was very disappointed, will not be staying there again.
- Gary (8/5): - Biggest issue was the lack of parking...ended up in a field
- Heidi (10/5): We would definitely stay here again! - We were very impressed with how clean the hotel was and how friendly and helpful the staff were. The rooms were cleaned daily, which is something you rarely see anymore. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for going above and beyond.
- Kayla (10/5): Cozy - The rooms where way nicer then we expected. We slept so good on their beds as well. They even had nice soft throw blankets on the bed
- Joanne (10/5): - We have stayed at Van Hook before and knew what to expect. Well-equipped rooms for our family. The outside area looks rough and more pavement from the Highway would be welcomed. Staff are very helpful and courteous.
- Theresa (8/5): - The rooms were clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. Because we stayed 2 nights, rooms were not cleaned which we understood. Our only wish was that towels and coffee would have been replaced and garbage emptied. Loved the counter/kitchen area.
- David (6/5): - Was getting a little tired looking
- Agnes (10/5): Comfortable - Free breakfast was nice, friendly staff, rooms were clean and comfortable.
- Dale (10/5): - Handy for what we were doing.. decent boat parking. nice outlets etc . staff was super, dining area was nice and good food. restaurant next door was great!
- Doug (10/5): - AC was good. Parking was close. Breakfast was satisfying. Staff was very friendly and committed to making sure we were comfortable
- Carrie (10/5): New Town - Amazing friendly staff!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Its an okay stay. Low water pressure makes for an interesting shower experience. Rooms are as you see in the picture, no iron board or tv remote. A quiet place to stay.
- Traci (8/5): - There is no room service like it states and the free breakfast is super limited to eggs, sausage, waffle, cold cereal, a couple items to put on toaster. If they would have a little more variety it would be great. The staff was very nice and professional. The hotel rooms were clean but the road going to the hotel is horrible.
- Ben (10/5): Van Hook 👍 - Good clean rooms and friendly staff.
- Chris (2/5): - Oilfield town. Came into town very late. Nobody at the desk, couldn’t get any help. Had to sleep in the truck.
- Chris St (10/5): - Was a great place to stay would come stay there again
- Lynn (10/5): Fishing weekend. - Stayed there to do some fishing in the area. Clean quiet room. Stay overall was very good.
- Jodi (2/5): Terrible experience - Reserved a room at 11pm, drove to the motel nobody was at the desk, waited nearly 2 hours even called the front desk and no answer, another guest arrived to check in and still nobody so he called the desk and a lady finally answered. She had been sleeping for the entire 2 hours that I waited in the lobby to get checked in so that I could
Go to sleep! Either have somebody available all the time for late check-ins or a valid phone number to reach somebody after 10pm so guests don’t have to sit in an empty lobby for 2 hours waiting for you to wake from your nap!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to Sakakawea, 24 hour convenient store with hot and cold food, off sale and all the amenities that you can think of.
- Andrew (8/5): - it was good, better than expected. The location was a little off for me but i liked how there was a restaurant and a gas station right next to it. Will definitely come back.
- Faus (8/5): - Nice and clean. A little bit confusion the access to the hotel. Might need more and bigger signs. My google map could not find the exact access. I got room 144 which is the very last roon at the end of the corridor but there is an exit door which everyone uses to go in and out, door slams all the time. Some people stay by the door talking so loud. Better ask for a different room. Breakfast is ok. Kind people at the front desk. You get for what you pay. Only stayed one night. Nice hotel to be found in the middle of nowhere. Thanks.
- Nancy (10/5): - Property right off the road and next to a good steak place. Staff very friendly and rooms very clean.
- Becky (10/5): - Nothing bad to say! Breakfast lacked a little.everything was great
- Verified traveler (6/5): - When we checked in we were told to use the entrance at the other end of the building since our rooms were there. We parked at the end, took all our stuff out of the vehicle, only to find the entrance blocked by snow & ice. So we had to climb over the snow & drag our stuff through it. The room had a smell to it like a bad air freshener. The staff was very friendly & the breakfast was great!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Need to have a shuttle service because it’s so far away from everything 😊
- Adam (6/5): Modern finished, but repairs are needed. - I was first checked into Room 114. The door in Room 114 would not lock because the lock was broken off. I requested to be moved and did move into Room 120. The Bathroom door in Room 120 was so swollen it would not close so I took a shower and went to the bathroom with the door open. Not a fun experience to have when I shared the room with one of my employees.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Nope - Checking in was easy. The first comforter upon arrival to the room was dirty with what looked like a blob stain. They seemed to be out of towels all the time. Had to check out early and demand a refund because housekeeping failed to put toilet paper in the room and we came back to the hotel at night to have bats swooping at us in the lobby and hallways. There was no night attendant at the front desk to talk to about this. The next morning, the lady at the front desk still hadn’t dealt with one of the bats, which was hanging out right in front of the housekeeping door/within eyeshot of the front desk. She was also super defensive about the issue. The manager, Pam, was great in that she refunded my prepaid stay for the nights I checked out early. Overall, would not stay again. Overpriced and dirty.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Check in receptionist was great—friendly and helpful.
AC was a little loud.
Breakfast should stay open later on Sunday.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Rooms were good size, quiet, and clean. Lots of parking. Friendly staff.
- Garrett (6/5): Overpriced motel 6 - Newer motel that is already rundown! Parking sucks, but rooms were clean.
- Sharon (2/5): Awful - Worst place we have been by far. Came into town late and got our rooms only to find out that the rooms weren’t even ready. Had to get re assigned another room. Bed was still unmade, towels on the floor and trash still on the table
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice clean hotel, A gem with friendly staff . Would stay there again
- Verified traveler (6/5): It could be better - Terrible location, and they really need to update their address. Sent us to the middle of no where. Some things were broken in the room, needs to be better taken care of. Otherwise, the front desk clerk was friendly.
