Guest Reviews
- Hilal can (2/5): - Yatak içe çöküktü ve dönerken bile çok ses çıkarıyordu tuvaletin maalesef ki sifonlu çalışmıyordu kullanamadık ve çok şaşırdık yerlerde yapış yapış ve tozluydu buzdolabında önceden kalan bozuk yiyecekler vardı odada çöp yoktu ve iki kişilik olmasına rağmen tek terlik vermişler istedik getireceklerini söylediler fakat getirmediler yani kısacası sadece üşümedik dışarda yatmaktan tek farkı buydu
- María Teresa (8/5): - Muy amables , hicimos el chec-in antes de las 12h. Y nos pusieron un taxi rápido
- Harun (4/5): Nul - Hotel pas propre et service zero
Je ne comprends même pas pourquoi votre site propose cet hotel
- Peter (2/5): - The mould in the shower is inches thick. The skirting boards and cornices are falling off, the air conditioner doesn’t work. Expedia are not helpful at all. The whole experience has been very disappointing
- David (2/5): - The room was small, dirty, dark and no maintenance. Lights were.dull and.just hanging. Bed had good mattress but base was collapsed in one corner so mattress sagged at head. Door to balcony had big gap around it, wouldn't open or close. Balcony was cover in bird feather and poo. Not that we could get out anyway. Had to turn off air conditioner because it was so noisy. Carpet was disgusting.
Staff were indifferent.
The pictures on Wotif aren't the same as the rooms in this hotel. This is the second time we have booked through Wotif in Turkiye and this has happened. Won't be using Wotif to book any hotels in the future. They need to vet their clients better.
Very disappointed in the dishonesty of the hotel and Wotif.
We don't mind basic accomodation, in fact we normally stay in cheaper places. However being cheap doesn't mean some cleaning and maintenance standard can't be adhered to.
- bireta2017 (2/5): FRAUD ALERT!!!! - FRAUD ALERT!!!! Dont even book this hotel with Free Cancellation option.
THey charged my credit card one month before my Reservation start date although I chose to pay at the property. Even after a very early cancelation they refused to refund my 355 Euros. Stay away from thieves!!!!!
- Sezen (10/5): - Oda küçüktü fakat merkezi konumda olması, yatak konforu, duş yerinin güzelliği ve temiz olmasıyla çok güzeldi.
- Can (2/5): - Yatak başlığından çiviler çıkmış haldeydi, rutubet ve nemden tavan çürümüş, son derece bakımsız ve atıl vaziyette. Ücretiyle dahi kahvaltı yok, otopark yok.
- Zaid (10/5): Lovely Hotel - Amazing location close to all Karaköy İstanbul activities and Galata area and Galata new port.
Staff polite and friendly. good service I have received there. I stayed one night so I didn't face the hotel bad side. Same as what happened in other three hotels during my long vacation stay.
- Anton (2/5): - Not a real hotel. Our room was extremely diety. Urine stains on toilet seat. We left hotel after 1 night!!! Stay away from this place.
- Paavo (6/5): - The guys in the hotel were nice but the hotel is in a bad shape. Comfy bed and luckily a warm duvet, because my room was very cold. On the other hand my friend’s room was too hot. Water may or may not come.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Catastrophic! - Dirty room, leak in the shower and the sink, small duvet for a double bed, the check in delayed until 2:30 p.m. for cleaning, basically very bad experience given the attitude of the receptionist rather rude and insolent, I do not recommend this hotel to nobody.
If they put it on sale on sahibinden it is for a reason !!!
Negative charge in all atmosphere😔
- Figen (8/5): - Otelin yeri güzeldi... çalışanlar saygılı... ama temizlik açısından çok kötü idi... oda'da temizlik yapılmadı...banyo tuvalet berbat idi... her yer küf ve pisli...
- Verified traveler (10/5): Old Hollywood movie Hotel - The lobby of the hotel is hollywood movie memorabilia. The rooms are themed after cities around the world. The bathroom was spacious so was the room. Unfortunately, the room needed some loving, the wall paper was coming down. The bed was missing parts of the headboard, the ceiling had lots of water damage. Overall, it was a good stay, solid wifi.
- dalep1987 (2/5): Location great, hotel just awful! - It was dirty, just so dirty! Considering other properties are now cleaning more than ever due to covid, this place doesn't even clean at 10% of what is expected. They need to remove their 'taking extra measures' statement as this is false. From the lobby looks fine, but no hand sanitizer facilities. Stayed in room 201 on 2nd floor corridor stunk of smoke. Bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly in months, toothpaste drips on side of sink, sink was cracked, mould in shower, faeces marks on toilet flush. Bedroom was DIRTY! dust everywhere, on the sides, legs of the tables inside the drawers. I don't mind a bit of a run down room with a few scratches and nicks but this was not good at all. Bed sheets didnt fit the bed and smelt dirty too. Towels were ripped, safe didn't work, curtains don't close properly and when you try to close then they just fall off the rail! Fyi it is not a balcony, just a French window that fails to open properly. Breakfast was ok but nothing great.
The staff are what made this place bearable. All reception staff were amazing and so friendly. Offering me advice on the sides and places to eat and see. Nice touch to have tea and coffee in lobby all day. Location is also perfect for travelling around. A stones throw from the karakoy pier, metro station and right by Galata bridge to cross over to Sultenahmet. Would visit the area again but not this hotel I'm aftaid. If you are in the area though, great restaurant called Gümrük I recommend for good wine and steak.
- Siba (6/5): - Otel genel itibariyle idare ederdi. Sonuçta o bölgeye göre uygun fiyatlı bir otel. Bence otel odalarını yenilemeleri gerekiyor bir an önce. Onun haricinde kahvaltısı fena değildi o fiyata göre. Konumu itibariyle gündüz çok gürültülü bir otel. Konforu da iyi sayılırdı.
- goldenstar2005 (8/5): Comfortable Room and Friendly Staff - Me, my wife and three-year old son stayed July 3-5. The memories are overall pleasant. The location, adjacent to the Galata Bridge, was ideal for us. Sultanahmet was accessible on foot. We had ample opportunity to sit late at the scenic Karakoy. Galata Tower was half a Km. There were plenty of lunch/dinner/breakfast options and a money exchange right outside the hotel street. The room was spacious, and usually peaceful at night, with adequate furniture and storage space and a modern cooling option. The breakfast was probably adequate. Tea was available round the clock in the lobby. The staff members were always smiling and tried their best to tackle any issues/needs highlighted. Mr. Bora stood out for his command of English and booking an excellent sea cruise for us. There were a couple of negatives however. The lift was quite small and suffocating, barely accommodating the three of us. Second, there were problems with the washroom – lack of proper drainage and a faulty door lock. However, given the various advantages we will not mind returning to stay here.
- 688ricg (8/5): Good value - Read good and bad reviews but decided to take the plunge anyway. Booked 3 nights. Arrived way too early(06:30) for us to book in but the friendly young man at reception offered us coffee and tea. We left our luggage in a corner on the lobby and took a stroll along the Bosphorus quayside and Galata Bridge and returned at about 11. The good news was that he secured us a room so we could book in and just rest our weary bodies for a while. The room was small and had a small balcony with a table and 2 chairs. We ended up booking an extra night and found the room perfect for its purpose, sleep and shower. The breakfasts were adequate with a good selection of cheeses, olives, breads and juices, coffees and Turkish tea. Best of all is the situation of this hotel. Literally a minute or 2 walk to the karakoy iskelesi ( ferry station) or a similar walk to the tram station. You are literally next door to the Galata Bridge with its many restaurants and fisherman. If you like the area but want a more upmarket hotel consider the Ada Hotel Special Class in the same Street. The friendly staff win me over and we'll gladly stay there on our next visit.
- FilioD10 (8/5): IT WAS EXCELLENT!! - it is located in the best place in Istanbul, the room was very clean and the stuff was very friendly and kind. you can visit lots of places on foot due to its good location . it is very close to galatas bridge!
- sarahtshannon (2/5): WORST HOTEL EVER - This is my 3rd time to Istanbul and my 100th time around the world and I have never been at a hotel this bad! Despite the location of the hotel everything was awful! me and my 2 other friends were crammed into the tiniest room, it can hold 2 people squished together so let alone 3 in the same room. The service was bad, I even asked for 3 extra pillows for each one of us because the pillows were so thin, yet the answer was we only have 2 left, we cannot do anything about it. So I had to sleep there for 4 days with an awful pillow.. I asked them how to get to the airport and they offered a taxi for like 60 euros or maybe a bit more with no other alternatives although I asked until someone walked in and told me to take the Hava Bus for 12 liras from Estiklal sq. so I asked the guy to order me a taxi at 5am to get to Estiklal he said it's close by you can just walk!!!!!!! Knowing that the walking distance is about 30 minutes while wheeling my bags there. I asked him again that I needed a taxi to be ordered at 5am and he said when you come down I will order one, breakfast awful, shower awful with no door or curtain so we shower and have water running all over the bathroom floor, and people these are just the headlines, I can go on and on about the worst experience I have ever had, but this review will suffice for now. NEVER EVER AGAIN!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fiyat fayda dengesi iyiydi.Odalar gayet temiz ve rahat.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely hotel in Istanbul - The hotel was lovely. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and fresh. The bed was memory foam and very comfy. Only complaint was there were no blankets, only sheets on the bed. We could have asked the front desk for a blanket, but didn't. We used the extra sheets from the cot for more warmth. Not too bad. Excellent hotel, would recommend.
- E6476FBannas (10/5): Perfect - Thank you for your interest and the respect...I will come again...I like your hospitality and I advice everybody ın Galata . Karaköy is a great place to start to know about Istanbul's multicultural lifestyle.
- Burrows21 (10/5): Lovely hotel - Stayed here with my partner in January and September. Rooms are beautiful, clean and modern. Short walk up to all the main clubs restaurants and shops in the high street Taksim. The staff and owner is very helpful and friendly. Me and my partner have both said that this is the only hotel we will stay in in Istanbul. Tried a hotel elsewhere but asked to get transferred to Galata palace again. Beds are really comfortable and prices not expensive. Really happy whenever we stay here. Love it :)
- cautiousadventurer09 (10/5): Wonderful hotel! - This hotel was really comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful.
I used public transport during my stay and it was very easy. It's a good idea to buy a ticket for multiple trips, that way you won't have to keep paying, and you save a little money on the cards.
I was booked on a cruise, and the hotel was near the port, but it was also close to everything else
The Turkish people were friendly and helpful, and the food was wonderful. The hotel provided a breakfast of fresh fruit, hummus and a selection of cheeses.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Turkey.
- Conor (4/5): Soulless, boring, don't bother. - We spent 11 nights in Istanbul at 3 different hotels. This was the least enjoyable for a variety of reasons, though the room and en-suite bathroom were at least spacious and in good order. We stayed here for 4 nights.
Given the location on a pedestrianised side-street, it would be reasonable to assume that it would at least be a quiet location. Wrong! Taxis use this street as a rat-run, consequently the hotel's street-side tables are not as attracting as they might be. My wife was woken on several occasions by cars honking in the middle of the night.
The main issue I have with the hotel was the lack of engagement from the staff. Sure, they go through the motions checking you in, taking your luggage, etc, but I got the impression that they didn't really care about my visit. When I asked about how I might take a trip to the beach, they just wrote down the name of a town nearby without any other useful info.
Breakfast was rubbish. The first day there was at least a selection but on subsequent days there were simply plates prepared and covered with cellophane.
The hotel has 20-ish rooms, yet during our stay we only saw 2 other guests in the hotel; this made it feel a bit like a zombie hotel. The lack of other guest didn't even prompt the staff to be more attentive to us.
In summary, don't bother. You may be seduced by shiny pictures, but this place is entirely soulless. There are many, much better hotels in the same price range, where you will be treated like real guests.
- 690samj (10/5): excellent hotel - Rooms had very good design and also very comfortable beds.
Location of the hotel is perfect. It is close to everywhere such as Sultanahmet, taksim, Aksaray. This was very cruicual for our journey.
Great personel . They were so helpfull during our stay.Special thanks to mr.izzet and mr.bugra.
Next time I ll come again this hotel without any doubt.
- william-fernley (10/5): Way Better Than I Expected - Allright, let me start with what I expected. The hotels in Taksim are way more overpriced while Karaköy is 5 min away. It is also near the Goldenhorn and more close to Sultanahmet, its pretty close to every touristic place I ve been visiting like Galata Tower etc.
So after I spent a bit unnecessary money on Taksim's "so called luxury hotels" and didnt wanted to be keep robbed I decided to spend some of my time in Istanbul to find a cost efficient place. Therefore I checked the prices in the close hotels from tripadvisor. Karaköy generally seemed more cheap. I was gonna visit there anyway so end up visiting hotels in that area and find this one with very authentic entrance. It was a bit overdone actually but later I learn from the receptionist that the owner of the hotel also owner of the gift shop across the street. Well you cant waste any decoration if u also have an hotel can you? :)
Anyway I want to list of pros and cons:
- First of all great attitude. Employees are smiling all the time, literally.
- I had a chance to have a word with the receptionist kid later in the night. Great kid but dont know how to make a tea. You use milk goddammit :) But thats Istanbuls biggest problem they are drinkin tea with just water. Pff
- Wifi was decent. Not great but ok
- I am not a breakfast guy. But there was lots of option. Its good to have an option even if you dont need'em
- I really care about the size of the TV. So thats a big advantage in my point of view. Big screens
- Easy to get taxi. It only take couple of minutes to get one. But it was also easy on Taksim too. So I dunno if its a comparison material
- The room I get was not huge but big enough for me. But I actually spent most of my time in the Lobby cause they keep giving me free coffee :)
So if I wrap it up, it is the best cost efficient hotel I ve seen. And I only stayed total of 3 hotels in Istanbul but this one was the last one. So if I ever gonna come here. This one will definitly be my choice. I hope they can keep their quality also in the future with this price range
- rseg99 (4/5): smelly bathroom, no ventilation, wifi problems - had an interior room which had a very smelly bathroom and no ventilation whatsoever in the main room.
breakfast was a joke. just horrible.
wifi didn't work properly and when it did it was too slow to use.
- tanya364 (10/5): Great hotel - The view from our room was great. The manager, Bura was very friendly and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast too, was good. The location was extremely central with it being close to the historic area as well as Taksim.
- E6476FBannas (10/5): Wonderful - Thank you for everything .It was the first time I came to Istanbul .I feel like in my house in this egzotic place . Breakfast was delicious also .Karakoy is a place must be seen in Istanbul. I Like Galata very much. I can live in Istanbul easily.
- HeLLenok (8/5): Good but nothing special - It's hard to find at first time. Very close to Galata tower and bridge - plus. Silent at night, noise at early mornings. Staff hardly speaks English but very nice and friendly. good cost/quality ratio.
- Jan-and-Steph (6/5): Good location but not a great stay - The staff were helpful and welcoming when we arrived but the room smelled damp and musty and was rather warm. There did not seem to be any climate adjustment and the only window opened onto an internal atrium which carried the noise up from the bar/reception area and was quite loud. The dampness appeared to be due to a leaking shower. Despite a bistro menu being displayed outside no food was available when we asked on Sunday evening. The location was very good for seeing Istanbul and it was reasonably priced but when we asked for an airport taxi to be arranged for our departure at 4am the receptionist waited for us to arrive in reception before phoning the company leading to an anxious 10minute wait. The breakfast, which was a set plate, looked very pretty but didn't have much that I would actually want to eat.
- 136dk (2/5): If You love yourself you dont go - Disaster hotel i have ever experienced. Reception and manager dont know english and any foreign languages. theres no management in hotel. its also like dormitory. Tasks are unknown. everybody try to complicated different type. for ex. receptionist try to wash dishes clean toilet. manager swear and smoke in lobby.
- ChristianeV907 (4/5): good location, but so basic - We ware with a group of 32 persons and had the bad luck of having one of the smallest rooms (istanbul room on 4th floor). the curtains let the light throurgh, so you got awake very early morning, my hairdryer did not work and was not repaired for three days although I asked every day. also the bath room was very small ant the tap of the shower got broken the room was so small, only 4 hangers for clothes. But ok, the weather was nice the location of the hotel is very good and the staff is friendly. Always free water and coffee. Breakfast is just ok , not al lot of choice.
I would only go back if i would have one of the more comfortable rooms, which some of our group members had.
the carpet in the hotel room was not clean
beds were ok and we slept well;
- Noorika (8/5): Good hotel in Karakoy - We didnt planned to stay in this hotel originally but we found it by chance while a walk and went inside to check if they have anything free. The staff was friendly, they showed us a free room, which was big, clean and comfortable so we booked it for two nights. The hotel is in a side streed right next to the Galata Bridge. In a 3min walk one can reach the sea, one of the best restaurants for traditional turkish breakfeast Namli, a famous shop with sweets Koska, the Galata Bridge from where u can take the tram to anywhere. I would say its very central located. Not every room is same , but we had the luck to get a big one. The room itselfe was clean, so was the bathroom, altough it could have been a bit cleaner. The toilet wasnt working for some time, but it got repeared. What i mind a bit is, that they dont offer normal blankets, just thing ones. In the summer its not an issue, but its not really comfortable when the weather turns a bit colder. We took late chek-in and went to eat, altough we came back a bit late, they were not angry with us so we could prepear our bags and leave later as planned. overall we were satisfied and had a nice stay. The hotel should maybe care more about small details and also care about the smoking inside the hotel, becouse sometimes we could feel smoke in the air...
