Guest Reviews
- 930RichardB (6/5): Clean, comfortable, lots of road noise. - A mom-and-pop motel, basic, but the room was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable! Good water pressure with instant hot water. Amenities were a small fridge, microwave and TV on stand with excellent reception and many channels.
The only downside was the road noise. Almost all of the rooms faced I-75 and were very close to it. I recommend asking for a room on the back side of the motel. It looked liked there were very few back there, but try anyway. If you can sleep with earplugs, I would still recommend this place for a clean and affordable place to stay. I paid $74 total on November 17.
- Y6321KXjohnf (8/5): Nice place to stay. - Nice place to stay, older Hotel, right near the highway. We met the owners, very nice people. Retired couple in the process of updating the Hotel. Room was clean and tidy.Beds were comfortable and the room was quiet despite the proximity to the highway.
- 228Runner (8/5): Pleasantly surprised - Pleasantly surprised with the value here. Most places around Lake City were double the price. We had a king non-smoking room with a jacuzzi tub. Pet friendly was a must. Room has fridge, microwave, decent space, pretty clean, and comfortable bed. Only negative was the traffic sound on i-75, but earplugs fixed that. Proprietor is a nice, interesting guy.
- suedon12003 (2/5): Horrible - We booked this hotel for an overnight stop. Upon pulling up, there was garbage everywhere around all of the rooms. Soda cups in window sills, trash everywhere. It was very secluded and very shady looking. The people hanging around the hotel where very scary. To the point that we did not feel comfortable even getting out to go into the lobby to check in. We made reservations at a different Hotel. I tried to cancel the reservations for the above-mentioned reasons. The lady responded with a very nasty email saying that we should have at least come in. I'm sorry but we did not feel safe doing so. Not a very good way to do business in my opinion. I will never use booking.com again.
- J1783FWvalm (2/5): Seedy Motel - First impression was it looked like somewhere with hourly rates. It’s cheap for a reason. The manager was super creepy. The room was very basic and the bed was horrible. Mattresses were the worst ever seen. I couldn’t even stay...left within minutes. Save your money and look elsewhere.
- SandieR103 (8/5): 1st day of vacation trip. - Mapquest threw me off first because the "access road" took us to a broken down, empty hotel. But when we called they gave us directions and we got here fine. The room was old, but clean and welcoming. We had a whirlpool bathtub, refrigerator, microwave, and all the amenities. The staff was friendly, and informative. The only drawbacks were no list of nearby restaurants/phone numbers and no breakfast, but either of those are tiny problems. For the price it was excellent!
- pdeppley2016 (6/5): Overnight stay - Staff was very nice and welcoming! Hotel needs some TLC but was clean in room. Has potential if just a little work was done. The outside had tape on windows, no coffee in room but the hotel staff made us some in the morning. Couldn’t close door in bathroom, cigarette ashtrays outside were not so great. Good for one night only. Nice cheap rate.
- Tajm10 (6/5): It’s ok. - This hotel is an older property. It’s a little hard to find and a little run down. The price is right at 63.00 a night. But it’s what you expect for that price. If your looking for luxury this is not the place for you. If you looking for a place to sleep and shower then you might consider this property. One thing I did see is behind the bed there was several old soda bottles and what looks like a pair of dirty underwear. Besides those things mentioned the hotel is a bed and shower nothing more or nothing less. For one night it will do.
- Scenic727022 (10/5): Good service - They had a great staff. Along with clean rooms that were quiet. It was like home away from home. They were good to me and my fiancee. Anything we needed they made sure we had. They were highly attentive to everything and made sure the experience was great.
- jeffmN4849GB (4/5): Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed - I personally didn't have a problem with this hotel. We wanted to stay somewhere for one night then leave the next morning for Daytona. We got there very late. After 11pm.
There is no carpet in the rooms. The tub was clean but clearly stained and we didn't want to get in it. No Continental breakfast the next morning....but we didnt expect it for the price. The shocker was there was a small fridge and microwave in the room....but no coffee pot. We didn't like that. Flat screen tv worked fine, and air was cold. Bed seemed comfortable enough. The man at the desk was very friendly. This hotel doesn't charge much for a reason. They don't have a lot to offer. These are facts. If you just need somewhere quick to sleep for the night, they're not that bad. You'll save money. If you want to spend more then one night.....I recommend somewhere else.
- flylikeaseagull (8/5): If you're in Lake City... - Lake City itself didn't really seem like a whole lot to see, but if you ever find yourself there - or passing through - this is a nice gem worth the money. The front desk lady was polite and friendly, the room itself was impressive for the rate. Comfortable bed and heavy curtains/functioning AC to keep out central Florida's brutal sun. The room TV was a flat screen and there were plenty of channel options. Only complaint was the shower/tub, which didn't have an extendable head and required one to crouch down to access the water. Everything else though was fine. It would be nice to see this property expand and possibly take over that creepy abandoned(?) hotel across the street. It looks like the set of a horror movie. In any case, great stay, and would recommend to anyone traveling through Lake City. If I'm there again and need a room, I'll be back.
- yanij113 (4/5): Affordable... but not worth it. - I'd rather pay a few dollars more than stay here again. I felt so disgusted. I hate to say that. The only good thing was the tiled floor. The tub was so stained and dirty. I ran hot water for 15 minutes plus went to the nearest Walmart and bought Clorox and poured Clorox before I showered and I still wore flip flops to shower. The rooms look so out dated. The prices was great for my two night stay but never again. The noise from highway was so loud I wasn't able to have a restful sleep. I wouldn't recommend the motel.
- 183michaely (10/5): Exactly what I expected! - If you are looking for spotless modern hotel spend $150 a night at one of the other hotels. If you are looking for a comfortable older hotel at a great price that is reasonably clean, has a great staff, and a comfortable bed then you will be happy with the Jasmine Garden Inn. Located right next to I-75 with plenty of restaurants in the area and just minutes from I-10 for about $50 you'll get a great night's sleep!
- 255DavidN (10/5): Great Place - truck broke down and stayed here for 2 weeks they have a awesome weekly rate the place is very clean the people on the property where very polite and made me feel at home the rooms blew me away super clean and comphortable more cable channals than you can beleive and located on the end of a street making it a honey hole trees plants country setting easy acess to the interstate . Love it I will come back
- 510barta (4/5): Needs improvement - Nancy was very friendly. However, traffic was loud. Bed blanket was stained, and had an issue that made us leave in the middle of the night. I won't state the issue since Nancy quickly refunded our money. Owner: You need to get that issue fixed quickly if you value having customers....
- shayb42 (10/5): Wonderful experience!! - We stayed in 101, for one night only. Upon arrival we met Nancy, the InnKeeper. Nancy was busting her bootie cleaning our room. We waited only minutes and upon entering our room I was impressed. Nice kingsize bed, well decorated and CLEAN!!! Additional niceties would be the jacuzzi tub with complimentary bath salts. I wish we had stayed longer, I wanted to take advantage of that tub!! Also, Nancy also gave us freshly baked banana bread muffins when we returned from being out. The whole property smelled delish when we got 'home'.
I am impressed that we were offered more banana bread the next morning with the complimentary breakfast. Cereal, oatmeal as well as freshly baked banana bread as well as fresh hardboiled eggs.
You can tell Nancy puts her 'all' into making your stay as pleasant one. Nancy even let me take a couple of snips from the Confederate Jasmine that was growing all around...
We were impressed and would like to say to all...please give this property a try - ask for #101...we loved it :)
- 158adelem (2/5): We did not stop - We booked and paid for this hotel on line. We knew it was a budget hotel but there is budget and there is unacceptable. The hotel is so close to the I75 that we would have found it impossible to sleep- the noise was deafening even with the door and window closed. We couldn't get in because we had been given the wrong key. The room was very poorly furnished and decorated- whilst it had been refurbished as claimed it was not a full makeover- the sink and bath were badly stained and cracked because of age and should have been replaced and handn't been, power to the bedside lamps were from extension leads which ran from high up on the front wall down and along the back wall, what appeared to have been the wiring for the smoke detector was just bare wires hanging from the wall- there was no smoke alarm in place elsewhere-I thought working smoke alarms were a legal requirement. The only working light in the room was one bedside lamp- the other had no bulb - we asked for one but it didn't arrive-there was no main room light. There was a bleeping noise which sounded as though it was from an alarm coming from somewhere. The location of the hotel is also well away from all the restaurants and other hotels. On the plus side the AC unit was new, the TV worked, and the bedding appeared clean although very cheap, wifi was free but it was very weak. We chose not to stay and booked into another hotel at only 15 dollars more which also included breakfast, which was not included here, and which was of the usual good standard- we suggest you do the same.
- 662raleight (8/5): Good for a basic inexpensive stay. - Stayed Nov. 10 to Nov. 15 on a hunting trip in the area. Looking for an inexpensive room for the week, for a hot shower and a comfortable bed after a long day in the woods, and this worked great. No frills, but coffee maker, small fridge and microwave worked fine. A/C and heat worked. Noise from the Interstate 100 ft. away may be a negative for some. Management was very friendly and helpful for room/stay, and info about the area, and just to talk to (Nancy!). I'd stay here again for an inexpensive basic room.
- vahidd_13 (6/5): No option - Just in case you have no other option and you look for saving. I was looking for cheap hotel, that s why we selected that motel (I should call it). The beds were not good compared with my experiences.
- Frogggggy (4/5): For $35 it's okay. - I was looking for the cheapest place to stay in Lake City and Jasmine Inn was the winner! I was in town as a vendor so I was only looking for the basics. Not the nicest room by any means but fulfilled my simple need of a good nights rest. Lady at counter was very nice!
