Kelly (4/5): - Needs to be updated dirt on all doors, shower old and lots of black in tiles. Face cloth and towels had dirt stains. The main ceiling fan light flickered off and on then wouldn’t work. Strong air freshener type smell caused stuffiness. Restaurant didn’t open until 10:30 so not able to get breakfast. Check in was easy and friendly staff. Could hear the tv next door through the night.

Donna (6/5): - The staff member we dealt with was great. However, the rooms (we had two stays there, on our way to and from Ottawa) could have been much cleaner. There was dust under the TV, etc. and the floors were filthy, in both rooms in which we stayed - #1 and #12. In the latter room, the bathtub faucet and spout were all water stained, so we did not even shower. We got up in the morning and put our clothes on and left. We will not be staying there on any future travels. The bathroom floor tile in #12 were all broken and had some odd pieces filling in. The workmanship was terrible. Caulking looked like a child had done it with gobby icing. The rooms really need fussing up if they want to have their business survive. It’s unfortunate. Donna
244denisj (2/5): Dusty, moldy, filty - This is by far NOT a 3.5 star accommodation I booked for a 2 night stay to visit family and upon arrival I was given key and wifi. Upon entering the room the ceiling fan did not work or its light but figured it out. The fan blades are warped from humidity and dusty, and the AC does not work , rather just for heat. The bathroom floor was dirty from wiping the water off the floor with the white towel, the dresser drawers are all loose and you could cut your feet by screws loose from the divider between the ceramic and cushion floor. And ventilation duct is dusty from well over a year untouched. the floor by the bed is dusty and filthy. the window sill could use another paint job. At least there was hot water enough for a shower and the main door lock and bolt worked. Sorry La Roma, I grew up with this establishment in my town for over 40 years. this is the worst i've ever seen it . Stay away anyone.
wallyc765 (2/5): Delipidated, dusty, moldy and dirty - How is this 3 stars and above? Arrived for a two night stay and at first arrival the ceiling light was not working but figured it out much later through the dusty and rusty ceiling fan. The fan blades are warped from humidity; the floor is dirty by discovering black brown foot mark when wiping the floor outside the shower. The dresser drawer are all loose, no AC and an earwig crawled on me at night. The mold in the shower grout and the nasty dust in the bathroom ceiling vent says it all. What used to be a business of St. Basile for well over 40 years is no more of the basic standards. I truly hope their restaurant does not have the same issues for this would be surely health code violations. Sorry La Roma but you have seen the last of this writer.

Lexanne (10/5): - I have only good things to say about La Roma and its owners. Friendly, cheerful, helpful Owner & Wife. Room was clean clean clean. Yes, the motel is old, but its charming. There's an outdoor pool, access to a river with picnic tables on the lawn. Chairs outside the room allow for relaxing before dark. The bed was comfortable and the night was quiet. There's an attached restaurant with delicious Indian food. We enjoyed curry shrimp. This place is not luxurious but its extremely comfortable and very economical. Would not hesitate to stay here again on our way through .

Dan (8/5): - This is an older hotel with a new owner. The room was older but clean with no rugs so no smell. The property is alongside a creek/stream and quite pretty. There is a pool but it was closed when we were there since it was September. This is a family run motel. It suited our needs well. The restaurant on site is Indian but other restaurants are just a short drive away.

The good- I had the buttered chicken from their restaurant and it was excellent . All the staff were very pleasant and very accommodating . I definitely will be back

Scott (4/5): - The motel room was not ok. Awful actually. The door into the room doesn't close properly, which left a big crack between the door and trim. Perfect for mosquito and spiders. The air conditioner was really noisy and didn’t work properly...the fan kept seizing, making a screeching sound. The fan over the bed only worked when the lights were on. One switch worked the fan, lights over the tub and one over the tv. We removed the bulbs to use the fan because it was over 25⁰c. The toilet is crammed between the shower stall and wall, with barely enough room to sit for a 5ft 125 lb woman. The shower is tiny, old and leaky. This room needs a complete renovation. It is smelly with a strong scent of mold and worn out carpets. The bed was comfortable with clean bedding and good pillows. The restaurant is Indian food, it was fantastic and fairly priced. We had the Butter Chicken and Lemon Chicken dishes, both were really really good. We won't stay at the motel again but would visit the restaurant again.

I messaged to ask about requirements for my dog and the owner called back almost immediately to reassure me that there would be no hassle. The staff was so kind, and the restaurant on site was amazing! They even helped find an option for a rather picky child (Indian food is tricky!) Beautiful property and lovely experience all around

The room was clean, ans the bed super comfortable. The AC was pretty loud, however, worth it as it was a warn night. The pool is cold, but clean and was fun to get out and be able to stretch our legs and move around as we have been on a 3 week road trip. Very impressed with our stay, and if we end up in this area again, we will absolutely stay there again.

A lot of hair on the towels and bedding. Floors very dirty. Connection to wifi non existant in the evening however, great in the morning. Noisy, with a constant knocking sound every 15 mins during our entire stay. Very overpriced.

farmgirl821 (4/5): It's a bed for the night. - Enroute from Nova Scotia to Ontario, there were no other available rooms on a Saturday night. We were too tired to keep going, so we made do. The room had a heavy smell of deodorizer, probably to mask mold or other odors. The blinds were broken, missing pieces and didn't fully cover the window. The bathroom was very tired and black mold was growing on the wall and back of shower curtain. The beds were hard but looked clean enough and we managed a reasonable sleep. We got up early and showered. Passing on the Kirkland coffee in the mugs that had a taste like the room deodorizer, we grabbed Tim Hortons instead.
