- christina (1/5): Elevated hostel stay if your used to being homeless and don't mind being your own hotel security. - Check-in? Easy. Room? Clean and exactly as pictured. Bathtub? Big and unlimited hot water. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to sleep inside cardboard with a dozen people and dogs, this is your chance. Aesthetic is comfort economy. Acoustics? Philharmonic. Thin walls. Hardwood floors. Hollow-core doors. Gaps under every door. You’ll become intimately familiar with every guest’s comings & goings. Conversations? Crystal clear. Footsteps? Surround sound. Door slams? Jump-out-of-your-skin from a dead sleep, even with earplugs. This place works only if you roll the dice & ALL guests are considerate. We rolled snake eyes. Both nights had 2 a.m. wake up calls. Night 1: door slamming, stomping, TikTok at full volume, and smoking outside our open window. Later, screaming “Help, help!” — which turned out to be less emergency, more recreational enthusiasm. We called management. They reviewed cameras, gave a “firm talking to,” & informed us they’re available by phone until 1 a.m. After that, we had to call the police ourselves. Nothing says relaxing getaway like being deputized as overnight security. Night 2: 2 a.m. encore featuring prolific barfing & drunken attempts to seduce women. We heard everything. Because you hear everything. Now, the “Bed and Breakfast” part. We chose this property because breakfast sounded charming — especially at $600 a night. What we were provided I wouldn't even call food. It was a 7-Eleven survival kit: shelf-stable vanilla milk, Frosted Flakes, & an oily Danish of indeterminate age. It's what you would find if you were foraging abandoned buildings post-apocalypse. You would find it because everyone before you passed it up. To be fair, most guests were polite. The yippy dog respected quiet hours. Management tried from afar. But with this little sound insulation, if anyone talks loudly, walks heavily, or makes post-midnight life choices… you’ll know. With no 24 hour guest support, guests are simply at the mercy of the other guests.

When said Breakfast in room you expect a little bit more than coffee and a cereal bar. Better say no breakfast. The bathroom had a smell of sewage when we turned the shower on. Mattress was not comfortable for more than two nights. The mattress springs were noisy.

They upgraded the room which was not any better. It still had the previous guests' things in the bathroom and the bedding was not even changed.

- Shone (8/5): It was a wonderful experience. - Being on the mountain when the snow was falling and walking in the fresh snow. We had a 4 hour skiing lessons which was wonderful but our feet were too painful to carry on after 2 hours. It would have been preferable to have the option to split the lessons over 2 days, 2hours on each day.
- Andre (4/5): Overpriced low quality hotel that needs a serious overhaul. Located in a gorgeous area. - We came up for a wedding, not to ski. Location was great. There was nobody there working at the hotel that we saw, but we did receive excellent text communication from someone named Sal. He made everything very clear. The lobby area was very cozy but the room was pretty awful. Old rickety bed with horrible mattress and awful pillows. Very uncomfortable. Bathroom was old but shower seemed to work well. A free standing heater. It was pretty shoddy. For one night it was almost acceptable. Way over priced for the quality but hey, Mammoth prices I would think.
- Steve (6/5): - Overall the hotel was fine. Check-in was easy. Room seemed to be updated but the building is just old, so the walls are thin and floors are loud. We could hear all the other guests walking and talking through the walls. The rooms were very small too. Parking was very limited. The one thing that upset us is we had the "do not disturb" sign on the door handle and after a day of snowboarding, we came back to the room and someone from the staff had entered the room and replaced the curtains on both windows. The original curtains were a bright yellow and the replacements were a charcoal gray, so it was obvious to us. We do not understand why it was so important for them to do that during our stay instead of after we checked out, but also why they ignored the do not disturb sign...? We would only stay here again as a last resort.

- Scott (2/5): - The facility maintenance is horrible. Very unsafe. No personal at the front desk EVER. A bait and switch with breakfast included. When I read that I expected breakfast but got cookies and cereal bars. No internet the first night which meant no TV. I plan to never return and I'm warning you not to even stay there.
- Elizabeth (2/5): - Buyer beware!! Wifi connectivity was non-existent due to there being only a single network for all rooms that crashes when multiple guests are on it. No wifi then mean't no Roku tv/streaming channels available. And some bait & switch items - the room pics showed a large tub with jets. But apparently that didn't mean "working" jets or that there'd be enough hot water to fill even a 1/4 of it. Owner's response was that my room didn't come with a "jacuzzi" and my expectation of a usable tub was essentially ignored. And the supposed "continental breakfast" was a total joke. If you think a couple old packaged pastries, 3 less than appetizing pre-packaged fruit cocktails, a granola bar and some dry cereal constitutes a "continental breakfast", then you're an 8 yr old. At least there were coffee pods for the coffee maker...but sadly those too were unusable as there were no cups provided. Okay, okay... it might seem I'm nit-picking and high maintenance but I stay at Motel 6s everywhere for a fraction of this room rate and their services and amenities far surpass what was provided at this "Inn". I'm sorry but for $180/night, I don't think it's too much to expect the basics such as wifi, hot water, amenities pictured in ads to exist/work, etc.. And my contact with the owner was met with no answers or help. He did finally give me a discount code for a future booking but lo & behold, that didn't work either!! Steer clear of The Mammoth Inn if you want anything resembling a hotel room.

Room 6, the room that I was in was okay, but the vanity in the bathroom was falling apart. When I went into the shower, the door almost fell off. I was able to get it back I. The track, but didn’t dare touch it after that. I had hit water in the shower for about 2 minutes, after that it was cold. I don't know what the other rooms are like, but this room needs work.

- frank (6/5): - When we arrived we had to yell "hello" for someone to come out to greet us. Her greeting was not friendly as she showed us to our room. While walking upstairs to our room there were a few bags what look to be from the cleaning of a room. Those bags were in the hallway til the next day. We were very grateful to find this room for the holiday week but it was way over priced and did not fit 3 people. When asked for a rollaway bed the cost of $150 was outrageous. All in all the room was clean, the TV worked, the shower had good pressure and the temperature was perfectly set (thank goodness for the ceiling fan). Need to provide parking spaces as well for the number of rooms at the Inn.

- Ma Myleen (2/5): - It's not believable that multiple people could rate this place a 10/10. Maybe for $50/night, it would be a 10/10. We were warned of limited parking. You may get towed. There was no chair in the room, no A/C, no microwave, the TV didn't work (Only ROKU channels), no ice machine, and no continental breakfast. Like what you advertised on your website, Instead, there were four small boxes of chocolate milk, two small cups of cereal and fruits, and two energy bars. There was no staff when checking in. Instead, all communication was through text messages, and people were in the lobby trying to figure out how to get into their rooms. There was no separate bathroom- the shower, toilet, and sink were off the main room. The room was tiny. Very noisy. We had to leave the place a day early at our supposed check-out because it was uncomfortable. We weren't happy with this place and are considering using another third party to book our future travels and places to stay. We wasted a day of stay that cost so much. We wouldn't recommend this place.

For the price (relative to competition) a good value these days. - easy access, good email communication, spartan but fulfilled needs. cleaning products used to disinfect before we arrived are very strong and toxic. Need to change products, use less or air out more after cleaning. TV, Internet and wifi worked well.

- Glenda (7/5): Nice place - noisy beds - The property was clean and they left a lot of snacks/breakfast. Bed was squeaky, every time you roll over you wake up your partner. We were in number 8 and the people upstairs were very noisy and came in very late. All in all not a good place to try to sleep.

The first day, a FWD vehicle was stuck and was blocking the driveway. Day 2, a pickup crashed into another car in the driveway and blocked the exit. The heater sounded like a jet taking off, which was less than ideal when trying to sleep

- DavidRobinson22 (8/5): Simple, quaint, and comfy - The inn is simple with few amenities. It has fresh appearance (stated refurbishment is true), good space in each room and bathroom. Bed was comfortable, but would squeak. Room was very clean upon arrival. There is no staff on site so it is self check in, arranged by text messages. On arrival getting into the room was straightforward and obvious. There are limits on parking, it was not full (week day) so I had no issues. Convenient location to the local bus stop, or a short hike to the Village Gondola. Restaurants and bars within walking distance. The “continental breakfast” is nothing more than coffee and a few packaged snacks in the room. I would suggest picking up your own breakfast preferences at a local store. Overall, don’t expect much more than a clean, comfortable room with a good location and minimal amenities.

Very clean, very friendly and helpful staff. - The Inn is a very clean, basic, well located (for town/dining/retail/etc) activities, and quite close to the ski area. The staff is very friendly, accommodating, and keep the facility in fine condition. Again, keep expectations in line - a basic, but fully functional and clean accommodation. Perhaps updating of facilities such as toilets, beds, etc. Not that the equipment was not functional, clean, useable, but it is showing its age.

- Matthew (2/5): Needs work - We were not impressed with your property. From the broken front door to the squeaky bed and paper thin floors. Poor parking situation, over communication, penny pinching with the parking passes... Your inn needs a major overhaul. Even the details like busted art work above the bed and broken toilet paper holder, clogged bathroom sink... It was really unacceptable for what the price you asked for it.

- Aleyna (1/5): Horrible. - The Customer service was horrible. Horrible. Horrible. They were not understanding or considerate at all. I asked to cancel they didn’t allow it so I asked them to change my dates due to a storm coming and knowing that this season the storms have been quite intense at Mammoth and sometimes the roads close. Other hotels have been very understanding and accommodating. But not them. Wanted to save money but in the end regretted it. Save your self a head ache and pay a little extra and stay somewhere else!

- Robert (4/5): The Motel 6 that I stayed in back in the mid 90s was a nicer room than the one at the Mammoth Inn... - Not a very good selection, it consisted of your choice of a cup of Frosted Flakes or a refrigerated package of 2 very small pancakes and a small selection of granola bars also a few individual containers of white and chocolate milk. The smell of Pinesol wafting throughout the tiny room and the whole building. The sheets looked like they were clean but there were blood stains on them! The Bathroom had mold all around the bottom of the shower glass and door enclosure and I'm not sure what was on splattered around on the bathroom walls, but they needed a good cleaning as well.
- Paul (2/5): - Parking for this property is terrible. The management called and texted many time for me to move my vehicle. I was even woke up after 10pm by a phone call to move my car with no where to move to. I would never stay at this property again!!!
- Anna (6/5): - I don't recommend this hotel. There are 9 rooms and pretty much only 4 parking spots, I was lucky to get a spot. Toilet wasn't cleaned when we arrived. Small room, they might have bigger rooms I don't know. Not many places to put your bags. This hotel does not have any staff available, you have to text them if you need someting. Walking distance to restaurnts, and shuttfe stop. 0.7 miles to gondola.
- Mishael (1/5): Bad - The glass to my room fell through and glass broke all over the bathroom floor. I stepped on glass and got a couple glass wounds. I addressed these problems with the host and all that was said was that i would be put in a different room. I didn't feel that the host took into consideration the seriousness of the situation. I was able to get a refund but did leave feeling a complete lack of empathy.

I did not take pictures - no customer service. no hot water. no electricity in the bathroom there was no hot water and no one on staff to contact for emergencies. if anything goes wrong in the room there is no staff to fix or address the problem. the electricity in the bathroom was out as well as the refrigerator. no hot water both evening and the morning. do not stay here.

- adriennejubb (2/5): SCAM artist, book elsewhere - If you book one rate and they cancel your reservation the week of after the mountain gets snow so you can either pay double or not find a room else where… SCAMMERS! What terrible business practice to text at 9pm they’re about to cancel and can only rebook at a significantly higher rate… oh they’re going to accommodate my complaint with 10% off so it’s only $500 more? Horrible, terrible, no good. You’ve been warned and I’m going to try and share far and wide so others are not scammed either.
- T7433RWdonaldd (2/5): Bad Mammoth Inn and reservation services - Highway 395 was closed, could not get to Mammoth. 2 hours of trying to call them. 2 people finally had a long and same discussion, sent me up the phone chain to a person that really helped out, simply to cancel 3 nights at the Mammoth Inn. That phone work took 1 hour. Even with our 6 hour drive to try to Lee Vining...roads closed...Mammoth Inn charged us one night fee on each room we booked Poor business, stayed there for years, never again. By the way, we had another 6 hour drive back out. 12 hours driving, added hotel fees. Yes, a big storm. But we did our best and Mammoth Inn business practices did not.

- Cynthia (4/5): The Mammoth Inn - The room stunk to high heaven of what appeared to be Pine-Sol cleaner; the only lamp in the room was broken; Bedsheets were stained; serious parking issues; mildew pervasive in both the shower, and in the corners outside of the showers in the bathroom. Telephone contact numbers left by the inn in case of emergency were non-responsive.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent place - We booked this quickly because we needed a place to stay for literally seven hours to get a good nights sleep before hitting the slopes. After booking we then read the reviews and got very scared! But we it seemed clean and decent. I don’t know if the horrible descriptions made them clean up the place, or maybe we just got lucky with our room. It should be very clear that this is a self service place. Arriving at 11 there was no one behind the desk but they text you a lockbox number and code to get your key. That went smoothly. We stayed in the motel six the next night and this place was better. It also should be known and there really is no breakfast, except for a few granola bars and two chocolate milks in the fridge. We were the first ones up so I would venture to say that no one else got much breakfast. Definitely don’t count on breakfast here, plan on eating a bigger meal elsewhere if you are looking for nourishment.

Noisy floor: since everything is made in wood; If you stay at the first floor, you can hear everything from the rooms in the upper floor.
- Talita (5/5): Mostly Practical - Location is good. Cozy lobby. Practical way of checking in without having to physically meet personnel. Good bed. I also liked the options the television had (a selection of nice series and movies you can pick from). The promised hairdryer wasn't there. Doors were little hard to open. Shower barely had any pressure. Found a few hairs in the sink/shower that weren't ours, could be a little cleaner.
- Noah (2/5): - The property showed nice on photos however, the door was extremely light weight and didnt fit the frame, you could clearly see in or out of the room around the edges of the frame. The staff stayed up late and dod laundry among many other things right next to the room, we could hear it all as the walls were paper thin. There were also bugs in the bedroom and mold in several places in the bathroom.

The heart clogging individually wrapped pastries provided in room were moldy. The grounds outside are ghetto-like. No pride in ownership. Felt unsafe by appearance…
- Karen (8/5): Beyond Disappointed - This “Inn” is not as depicted in the photos on their website. I paid for two queen beds (for my friend) and there’s only one. This put my friend in an awkward position. Not to mention my embarrassment. We were both horrified! This place looks like a ghetto. There’s old construction stuff dumped. There’s pine needles a foot deep mixed with trash, beer cans, whiskey bottles, cups, plates, trash!, bathtub with weeds, broken table. Ever hear of a trashcan? This place is a fire hazard. I paid for this room for my friend. I’m embarrassed for what she must think of me. Have you been here lately? It feels unsafe. The grounds need some serious cleanup. Update your website photos so people know what to expect. This place does not feel safe. My photos will be on Yelp. Under the circumstances, I’d like a full refund on rm 7 and rm 8. AND my toilet in rm 7 runs constantly. We’re in a drought! My heart thanks you for the artery clogging “breakfast provided” cakes and pastries. Unbelievable!

- Luke (2/5): Dirty hot and full of bugs - We checked in nobody was onsite. The ceiling fan didn’t work, the room was stuffy with no AC, ratty towels and dirty bed linens. We told them we needed another room. The other room was even hotter with sun shining directly through window with white stains all over the comforter which was very dirty. There was also dead bugs all over the floor. We told him we wouldn’t be staying and would call hotels.com for a refund
