Guest Reviews
- michaelcD6605BD (4/5): Dirty and Noisy Hotel - Dirty Hotel, noisy street, good luck trying to get a good night sleep. Was here for three night got absolutely no sleep, even check out at 3am my last night due to just no sleep.
- Kellie (10/5): -
- Lori (9/5): comforable and convenient - Great breakfast! Great gym area! Great location. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful Refrigerator was not plugged in so there was a lot of water in it from melted ice and it went all over the floor. Gate in parking lot was malfunctioning and caused minor delays
- Miller (10/5): Heart - We absolutely was taken away by the beauty of the rooms would stay here every tume i gotta come to Pittsburg thankyou Blain and June Miller Nothing i loved it all the bathroom was amazing i have nothing at all to complain about Blain and Junemiller
- Leslie (10/5): - Everyone was super nice. Overall .. Great hotel.
- Laura (10/5): Fabulous, can’t wait to stay again! - Staff was fantastic, went above & beyond. Bar & bartender were great. Good breakfast. Great location with easy parking. Rooms were very clean & comfortable.
- Collins (7/5): Overall we enjoyed our stay - The gentlemen that works the bar is very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and the breakfast had a nice variety. The bed was to firm for my liking
- Deirdre (9/5): - Location Slow drains in the bathroom sink and shower.
- Shanae (9/5): -
- Cheryl (8/5): It was a nice hotel for the price, and we would probably stay again if the opportunity arose. - It was clean and easily located, close to where we were going. The hot breakfast was good. We were very disappointed that we didn’t have full access to the swimming pool, as there were swimming lessons being given in the pool. We were not informed of this at check in, and when we got down to the pool, my niece was only able to use a small corner of the pool to swim in.
- scramsby (8/5): Great stay experience in good location but with high cost - Markedly better breakfast than average, even providing take out containers. Large suite room with separate living room with kitchenette. Comfortable beds and decent pillows. Accommodating staff that provided extra bedding. Very nice and clean facility. Big bathroom with nice tub and shower. Less than 10-minute drive to Carnegie Mellon University. Per-night cost was higher even than when we stayed the same week in midtown NYC. Parking wasn't included ($24 per day).
- 462ezras (10/5): Nice place - Great location and friendly staff. Room was clean and everything worked. The breakfast was great and I appreciated the take out boxes.
- S2553VMangelas (10/5): Great Hotel - Great location, very walkable for restaurants and easy access to University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon, with very friendly staff and comfortable rooms.
- mibhalib (10/5): Great experience at Hyatt House in Pittsburgh - Great location and accommodation for a little extra space but still a hotel experience. Staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast was hearty and had great options for vegetarians, etc.
- LINDA (9/5): - Room and bathroom was clean and comfortable bed
- Anna (10/5): Nice hotel at a central location - Spacious and Clean Cost of the stay
- Natalie (9/5): Good for short stay but in the pricey side. - Unit has all you need for long stay. Kitchenette, living area wonderful.
Bathroom functional although I'm eyeing signs of wear and tear. Parking fee. Preferable FREE parking.
- Evan (8/5): Would stay here again - Location, comfort were great Dirty carpets, could be cleaner overall
- 9anneb9 (10/5): Friendly staff in a nice part of town. - The staff at the Hyatt House Shadyside was welcoming and helpful.
They were able to suggest local bars and restaurants that were nearby. The breakfast was a typical Hyatt Breakfast. The rooms were very clean. I would definitely stay there again. WE enjoyed the bartender.
- Shaylan (10/5): -
- Jessica (5/5): Not great - Location Remote was "stuck," difficult to use, staff stopped helping me to check in to address other customers' non-urgent needs (they wanted to confirm a nights stay had been cancelled), high chairs in dining area were very sticky and dirty.
- DoctorMT (10/5): Better than Expected~Kudos to You all - I read some bad reviews so I was not looking forward to much, but this was a very nice hotel and I was happy to stay here. It was right near Shadyside hospital where I was working and they chose this for me. The staff were all friendly, the room was spacious and had a lot of nice amenities what you may need for an extended stay. The breakfast was good including a lot of healthy options. I would stay here again and encourage others in need of a Shadyside location to give it a try.
- joandL3931ZA (10/5): Will stay again! - Comfortable clean room with full kitchen. Friendly, helpful staff! Meal one night at the bar was good. Well lit parking lot. Will be staying here on my next trip to Pittsburgh.
- BENJAMIN (10/5): -
- Lay (6/5): Overall, the was acceptable. - The bed. View from the hotel room was the roof, no spring water from the refresh
- Sanjay (8/5): - The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Facilities are clean. The breakfast is good, and the gym is adequate
- Gaspari (10/5): -
- Deanna (10/5): -
- Y3851AIthomass (10/5): Customer is the bomb! - From the moment we entered the hyatt bloomfield at 4pm until we left to go to shadyside hospital at 3:30 am our experience was excellent. I came back later after my wife's surgery to check-out and the staff was different employees but they had the same customer care attention as the employees I encountered the previous day.
- Michael (9/5): Great stay with only a complaint about a dog that barked. - Comfortable environment. There was a small dog barking a few rooms down. It was annoying.
- Jordan (10/5): One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in recent memory. -
- jillabromowitzg (2/5): Terrible stay- stay away - Booked 2 weeks prior and was not given the room we reserved. No apology, no help- just rudeness and disappointment. Stay away if you need a bigger room as apparently a conformation is meaningless and don’t expect anything to be done about it. Shockingly disappointing.
- Antoinette (7/5): - Location and cleanliness Cost for parking
- sina (7/5): Good for this travel needs - Proximity to the hospital
Coffee and tea provided all day
Room large with kitchen The breakfast is the same daily and boring menu
The hallways smells with sausage and cooked food
If your neighbors are loud, you can hear this loudly
Expensive if you compare it to near by discounted hospital hotel
- Zhiyuan (10/5): -
- Yang (6/5): Almost $700 a night without free bottled water - There are complete kitchen utensils, dishwasher, electric stove and microwave, suitable for travelers who want to cook The room is not soundproofed, and the sounds of people walking and pulling chairs upstairs can be heard clearly.
- Nuly (3/5): Frustrante - La ubicación La atención muy mala, me cobraron doble y nunca pudieron resolver
- Regi (7/5): Reasonably good accommodation - the room can be equipped with more soap, body lotion etc. - Staff was friendly. The room was not clean and the bathroom had the soap that the prior person used!
- Francis (8/5): - Clean rooms, good breakfast. enjoyed the pool. Hot tub would be a nice addition.
- Devin L P (2/5): No longer worth the money! - Size of the room. View from room. Bed. The first room i was given had a broken tv in the bedroom. No one was available to look at it until the next day. Although this is a minor issue I didn’t pay for a room with broken amenities. When staff was finally able to look at the broken tv they switched our room. This is an inconvenience to have to repack your things and move to another room. Moved to another room and both tv’s were working in this room, the problem with this room is that we tried to use the microwave and it didn’t work. So now we had to call to issue yet another complaint. Someone from the staff came and looked at the microwave and said the microwave was broken and that he would have to go get me a counter microwave. Both of these incidents left a very bad impression on me about this Hyatt location. I have stayed here at least 5 times since it first opened up and this will be the last at this location.
- Joannes B (9/5): Prima - Locatie Maar 1 lift andere lift was kapot dus soms lang wachten
- Michael (10/5): -
- Francis (8/5): Overall our stay was very good and we will return as needed. - Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel manager was very helpful in getting us an item left in our room returned to us.
Breakfast was very good.
Location for our needs is excellent.
Pool was heated as advertised. Hallway noise was a little loud.
Not a fan of the sliding barn door on bathroom as it lacks some privacy.
- 76libbyl (2/5): So nasty! If you have any other options - Don't stay at this hotel! - So nasty! If you have any other options - Don't stay at this hotel! Pittsburgh is primarily leisure-driven tourism so I guess they have less incentive to promote return visits, but this Hyatt cleaning staff over achieved in the "we don't care if you come back" department! My mattress was worn, stained and dirty. My sheets and comforter were unchanged, worn and dirty. The night stand had some kind of sticky stuff on it. The bathroom was dirty. Every surface was dirty and clearly neglected. I ask housekeeping for clean bed linens. When the ONLY staff member I saw all weekend showed up at my door. He could only supply me with a few random bed coverings because they were behind on their laundry. I asked for cleaning supplies so that I could wipe the icky stuff off the night stand. He looked at it, said "ewwew", shrugged his shoulders, and reported that he didn't have any cleaning supplies.
Everything is worn and dirty and there is only one working elevator.
To be fair, the front desk staff was very nice. The reservations were easy to make and they did have my room ready when I arrived. Of course, since they don't clean in between guests visits that wasn't a high bar.
- Cochran (8/5): -
- bkpoalnd (6/5): Great neighborhood, inadequate staffing - It started off a bit rough, when we waited at least 5 minutes at the check-in desk, because no one was there. There wasn’t a bell, so I called the hotel phone number in the end. Only at that point did someone come over from the bar. The room was fine, although the carpets were noticeably dirty. My kiddos enjoyed the pool though, and I liked the Peloton bike. The neighborhood was great for walking to restaurants. Breakfast was fine, except for the bunch of 10 or so children who were literally running around and screaming. The front desk staff did nothing to address this- even my kids were taken aback about how loud they were.
- Brendan (8/5): - Room was clean and available for an early check in request. Only one working elevator for the stay...made for longer waits each time entering or exiting the hotel.
- Karen (3/5): Disappointing stay. - Good location. The room was grimy. There was mold around the kitchen sink and all the furniture surfaces were sticky. Wasn’t vacuumed well. Some of walls had food or something splattered on them. The bathroom was clean.
- Denise (10/5): muy buena - Desayuno muy bueno y frente al hospital que teníamos citas medicas todo me gusto
- Miguel (9/5): -
- nancysB5167KY (10/5): Fabulous Vacation!! - We highly recommend this Hyatt House hotel especially if you need an ADA Accessible room (roll-in shower, king size bed, etc.). Staff welcomed us and made us feel comfortable immediately. Breakfast was hot, delicious and great variety. Pool was a perfect temperature and very clean. We had a wonderful stay and vacation in Pittsburgh.
The Packers and Steelers game was awesome too!! GO PACK GO!!!
- Lori (10/5): -
- Renée (7/5): The staff made the stay!! Thanks especially to Vanessa and ‘Sugar Bear’. - Location is within walking distance of stores and restaurants. The bed was horrible! The mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable.
- 967colleent (6/5): Expected better - For the premium price I was disappointed that there were repairs needing done to the kitchen and there wasn't enough glasses (1). We even had to unload the dishwasher...and rewash dishes.
- Donald (10/5): Awesome stay - no issues - Nice location - great staff One of the elevators not working - had a long wait at times for elevator. Parking access card did not work on two occasions. Had to back out and reset my card at the service desk
- leap50 (6/5): Family trip to Pittsburgh - We were visiting Pittsburgh for tourism. This hotel is well located if you're visiting Carnegie Mellon and Pitt. However, we were primarily sightseeing downtown that it was a 20min drive to get the Heinz Museum, the Strip District, Duquesne Incline, etc. There were restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Okay breakfast with the egg option, sausage, and potato most days. The gym/workout room was great and had all I needed for good workouts. The room had a weird smell when we entered - the property allows pets so I think it may have been from that. They don't service your room each day which we requested but they only replenished towels and didn't make the beds.
- Matthew (8/5): - Overall the hotel was nice, and staff was friendly, just needs a little bit of TLC and updating. The room and hallway had seen better days, but were still in presentable condition. My biggest complaint was the pillows. They were completely flat and offered absolutely no comfort or support. The breakfast was nice, parking was in a gated in area, and the lobby was large and spacious. It was located in a very nice neighborhood that was located centrally to the sights that we had wanted to check out. Overall had a pleasant experience during my stay.
- Dominick (10/5): - Great value for the spacious rooms.
- Maureen (10/5): - It was a great stay!
- Anna (10/5): - Room was very clean s d nuce. Check in was easy and parking was good
- Julie (10/5): Perfect location! - It was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located for our needs. There was a slight delay at check in, but the staff handled it.
- Marie (8/5): Overall the stay was good. I would stay here again. - Location and quiet rooms The bathroom sink did not drain well and the shower was bit slippery. Had to put the mat down that was provided.
- Karen (10/5): - Didnt use the gym yes the rooms were cold enough suite was very clean staff was very pleasant and very helpful . Would stay here again
- Brett (9/5): -
- Bill (10/5): - Pet friendly, nice bar. comfortable rooms, good features
- SHERLENE (8/5): It was decent for my quick stay. - Eye conveniently located to CMU. Few restaurants in walking distance Parking. Paying for parking. The breakfast was nothing to write about.
- Junko (10/5): - The room, the pool, and the breakfast were all very nice.
- Douglas (10/5): - Excellent service all around
- Christopher (10/5): - We only spent the night but our room was clean, quiet and restful. Coffee shop easy walk if you want a stroll. Would definitely stay again!
- joyce (10/5): - Breakfast was an A+
- Alyssa (10/5): - Great hotel, close to everything, felt very safe. Buffet wait staff was some of the nicest we’ve ever had a hotel, so freaking nice. Pool had a bit too much chlorine in it though, it burnt my eyes and my 4 year olds eyes. But still awesome!
- W7219KIsandras (4/5): Clean but noisy. - Noisy. Any noise in the hall comes into your room. There was a barking dog 2 doors down and it woke us up every night. During the day you could hear it howling in our room. We reported it to customer service but nothing was done. The rooms are a nice size, clean. There is limited food for purchase at the front desk but there is take out at stores a block or 2 away.
- B8773GNalexish (2/5): Unhealthy amount of uncleanliness! - This hotel was absolutely disgusting! Hair on the bathroom floor, stains on toilet, stained furniture…I didn’t even feel comfortable with my baby sleeping in there. Beware!
- Kevin (10/5): - Great place to stay while in Pittsburgh!
- Stacey (8/5): - This was a great location for our needs. Walls are a little thin but would stay again.
- lucyhT2010YW (10/5): A pleasing experience in the Shadyside-Bloomfield-East Liberty area - This hotel is nicely located if you plan to spend your time in the neighborhoods rather than downtown. Parking was reasonably priced. It was self-park, and it was by the day rather than by when you entered and exited, which we appreciated. Our room was actually a suite, with a sofa and kitchen, so if you are planning a longer stay, this would be a good pick. Go Steelers!
- Alisha (10/5): - It was clean and the employees was very friendly
- Vijay (10/5): - Staff was very friendly.
- Thomas (10/5): - Excellent property all around, Great rooms, great Service, Great Breakfast would stay there again.
- Esther (10/5): - Every thing was clean and the staff very helpful. We were in town fot the Cub:Pirates game. It was on husband’s bucket list,
- wesley43 (10/5): Close to CMU - Convenient location especially for visiting relatives at Carnegie Mellon University. Clean, efficient. Extra large rooms. Older but very comfortable. Typical Hyatt quality.
- Janice (7/5): - The beds and pillows were quite comfortable. The location was great for what we needed to do. The breakfast food was not worth putting out for guests.
- Passenger511603 (10/5): AI Horizon Conference - Very nice Hotel, great location and easy / convenient parking. Very close to Bakery Square. Nice complimentary breakfast, meats could be improved on dry or burnt the days I stayed. But that's all I can complain about.
Nice Stay will stay again.
- Cristina (10/5): - Beautiful hotel close to restaurants and shopping area.
- Angela (8/5): - My favorite thing About this hotel was the whole kitchenette. There is an a real.refrigerator freezer, stove, cooking utensils etc. It's a great option for when you don't want to buy every meal out. My second favorite is the air conditioning! You have complete.control.over the temperature. Recently we stayed in another hotel that regulated the temp.and I was so hot the entire time. The room was clean and comfy as well.
- Departure20956842902 (10/5): Great stay at Hyatt House - Helpful staff, clean rooms and regular room service. Breakfast was a bit let down with same menu each day.
Good bar service each evening.
- Relax08119258016 (8/5): Older Hyatt House - Older Hyatt House facility in Shadyside. Room was nice but not spacious. No restaurant onsite. Breakfast included but the floor in food area was sticky in the morning & evening, like they forgot to mop it. Parking not included, additional cost $24 per night.
- maurice (9/5): - breakfast
- Jay (6/5): - The room area was clean but the bathroom floor & shower were not clean at all. The internet is horrible & could not do my work & when reported to the front desk he told me I could call the provider? We left early & just lost the money spent on this.
- kathycM9609QE (6/5): Okay stay - Overall, good location, convenience to food, vet, grocery.
Good breakfast, staffs are friendly
However, room was not clean. Especially the bathroom ...... yikes
- Melissa (8/5): - I would stay here again.
- Leroy (10/5): - Staff were super nice and helpful. They made the stay very pleasant. Breakfast was good and the morning breakfast staff were extremely nice and accommodating.
- Cynthia J (10/5): - I loved everything about my stay! The rooms were extremely clean and beautiful and included a living room and kitchen. The staff was extremely accommodating. I did not partake in the free breakfast, but it looked extensive. The parking was a little pricey ($24/night), but I was really glad to have it, as on-street parking availability was extremely limited.
- Arthur (10/5): - We found the Hyatt House to be a comfortable and welcoming inn for a weeklong stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Two day trip - The hotel was clean, comfortable and convenient. It was close, within walking distance to many shops and restaurants.
- 222deboraht (8/5): Best hotel breakfast - Most aspects were great; a few were "meh." Breakfast, common areas great; soundproofing in rooms and some front desk staff leave room for improvement.
- sctrojan2002 (10/5): Great place to stay for visiting CMU or PITT - Very friendly and nice staff and facility. The room was very clean and roomy. The gym was subpar but adequate for squeezing in a quick workout on a quick weekend trip. Breakfast was ok nothing spectacular but good considering it was included. Location is perfect right near Shadyside and very short drive to Pitt and CMU campuses.
- Mayank (8/5): - Right in town - convinient
- Michael (6/5): - Needs better housekeeping support
- Irina (10/5): - Nice place
