- Belinda (6/5): Stay was ok. Lots of frequent, short term occupants with wear and tear. - Very friendly, welcoming front desk and great location. Good price. Giant donuts were complimentary in the morning. The air quality in the room wasn’t great. Strong smell of disinfectant or carpet cleaner. I’ve stayed here before and it seems the condition of the rooms has declined from wear and tear.

- Jaiden (4/5): I’ve stayed here primarily for the last 10 years and this is probably my last stay at this hotel. It’s seriously gone do - Parking was easy because the hotel was practically empty, even with the Rodeo and Stockshow in Town and that’s saying SOMETHING. No breakfast, front desk employees were vaping out in the open and charging their vapes out in the open for everybody to see. Beds sucked, rooms smelled weird, rooms only have 1 bathroom sink. Snacks in snack room are expired and overpriced. Washers made my clothes smell awful. Chairs and couches in the room have stains and the chairs are peeling, the dishes in my room were all dirty with food residue and dust on many of the bowls, glasses, cups and forks. These are signs of an aging and clearly neglected hotel.

The front desk person was very nice, and the check-in and out was swift! TV placement had obstructed views from the bed. The sound was very low.

- sdo2021 (2/5): Overpriced, Overrated and Nasty - The front desk staff was the best part of this stay. Hall by room smell like someone had been cleaning fish. The room itself had a sewer gas odor or leak. The sheet were clean but the towels were worn out. The bathroom floor was filthy, the walls and window treatments had damage. The security was lax with downstairs side entry doors propped open the entire stay. Just avoid this one.
- 417clarkg (2/5): Gave our room away - I booked a room for my son Mason Gilleo on 24 Oct for 25-26 Oct. he was traveling on orders with the military and had been flying for 15+ hours. I booked through Expedia. My son went to check in around 9:30pm and the hotel gave his room away to someone else. When I called the front desk right away, the lady at the front desk told me that rooms are not a guarantee when booking through a 3rd party like Expedia. I told her that was BS because I have always used Expedia and we stayed at that exact same hotel two months ago. She was Very rude and seemed to not care at all. She Told me I would have to take it up with the manager tomorrow. My son was in his car in the parking lot dead tired just trying to find a hotel. The lady knew she gave his room away and couldn’t care less. What great service to our military troops!! Absolutely worthless company and service!! I’ll think twice before booking with Candlewood Suites!! I’m going to send this exact message to all my social media friends and family asking to rate this hotel as well. Hopefully they will!! I’m so pissed!!

- John (2/5): - When checking out the night clerk told me I could not get a recipe nor could he tell me how much I owed. I then turned to my wife and asked her which was worse to deal with. This person or the scorpion I had in my bathroom. The clerk then told me to leave HIS lobby. I will not be staying at candlewood anywhere again sincerely John Lyons
- Robert (4/5): Rogar - I, arrived at 5:34pm only to be informed after I checked in that my room was being cleaned and it was “almost “done. About 20 minutes later, front desk informed me the room was ready and the cleaning staff was shorthand. I walked into my room and a cleaning lady was already in my room, she quickly positioned herself in front of me preventing me any further. From the appearance of the room -it lacked plenty of attention (as the bed was not close to being made). So, I took all my things back down to the lobby and waited till 6:45 pm to finally move into my room. While waiting in the lobby two of the cleaning staff were walking in and out of the building and by the language they were using with one another, it was some type of work drama (cussing). Customers were waiting for someone at the front desk as she was never seen. I spoke with hotels.com agent and informed what was currently taking place . The agent attempted several times to make contact via phone but yet still no answer. The bed was not fully complete as if they put the sheets and top cover in a hurry. I understand the cause of being shorthanded but all I saw was poor management and poor work ethic from the staff. I will no longer stay or recommend this place
- jadah316 (2/5): horrible hotel !! - my stuff got stolen sunscreen and tanning lotion lol which is very werid .wallet was stolen . I had just taken a shower and someone walks in my room somehow some way the front desk gave some random person a key to my room and they walked in saying his room was mine and it wasn’t which freaked me out . I tried hanging out by the pool to get over my stuff being stolen and my music was to loud which it wasn’t mind you it was a Saturday in the afternoon I had my speaker right beside me so that I wouldn’t be loud and still got a noise complaint and told me if I got another one I would have to leave . my room has an odd smell the whole place stinks . overall it was a horrible experience. I would not recommend what so ever !!! Horrible experience at this hotel !

- Road52145482607 (2/5): Don't Stay Here. - This place is a trainwreck. Employee's dog not on a leash. Staff seems more interested in socializing with one another than helping customers. Rooms are filthy (pubes, etc). Rooms have a very foul stench. Phone is disconnected so I could not cancel my 2nd night's stay. THIS PLACE IS GROSS

- Roger (6/5): - The area is great and the check in was good unfortunately the cleanliness of our room was lacking and the smell from the dirty carpets. You can’t walk barefoot or you will have sticky nasty dirt on your feet. Also the hallways as soon as you come from the lobby towards the rooms the smell is terrible. I have stayed here in the past and it use to be one of my favorite; don’t know what happened change of management but the cleaning is not what it use to be. This is turning out to be another run down La Quinta.

- Corey (1/5): Terrible. I should’ve slept in my car. - Close to eating places The room wasn’t swept and smelt like an antique store. I had a family of 3 and they gave me a room with one queen bed and a chair. The picture on the website showed a couch so it would’ve been fine for my son to sleep on but instead my husband slept in the terrible chair so my son could have the bed. The smell was so bad I constantly had to spray air freshener. With the rodeo and baseball tournament in town there was no other option so we had to deal with it. Also why no breakfast? $211 for one night and no breakfast is ridiculous. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

Breakfast options included only few packaged breakfast items, which you pay for and take back to your room. I booked this hotel in a hurry in an emergent situation. It was ok, but probably would not choose it again.

Bathroom mirror wasn't clean. It appears that the mirror was sprayed with a cleaner, then not wiped off. Very smeary appearance. I had to wipe it clean myself. Other than that no other issues at all.

- Mark (10/5): Proud father - I was in San Angelo visiting my son who is attending Angelo State University. Everything at you hotel was as it should be. I know that doesn't sound like a rave review but for me it is. I don't expect a lot when traveling...just what you promise. And that is what I got. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. But the thing that made this trip stand out is that I left a very expensive watch in my room and I was barely 10 miles out of town when my phone rang. I almost didn't answer it but thankfully did. It was the manager on duty saying that the person cleaning the room had found my watch. I believe her name was Rosalita or something close to that. I turned around and drove back to the hotel to retrieve my watch. They had my watch ready for me when I arrived. I thanked everyone for their honesty, gave the lady that found it a $100 and got on my way. Please recognize them for this act of kindness because it is hard to find these days.

- Julia (8/5): Overall, I am very pleased with our stay. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. - The location was easy to find and had adequate parking. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The gym was good, it had a good mix of different types of workout equipment. It was nice to have free washers and dryers. A few small pieces of workout equipment were missing and the workout mats need replacing. It might be a good idea to refresh the paint and make minor repairs in the room.

- saratU4270LC (4/5): Gross, avoid. - This hotel is very rough around the edges. The lobby smells of harsh cleaning chemicals and cigarette smoke from guests smoking right by the doors. The carpets in the halls and elevator are badly stained, and the carpet in our room was disgusting, with chewing gum stains. The bathroom floor tile was loose, the shower walls were not cleaned. The TV volume did not work via the remote and had to be fixed manually by the front desk agent because it's too complicated to explain how to fix it. They also charge a ridiculous $75 fee for dogs, but our dogs were cleaner than anything in this hotel. The only plus is that the sheets and towels seemed clean. There is a grass area to walk the dogs (however this was full of trash including sterile gloves, cigarette butts, and random clothing). Strangely this place has good reviews, they must have very low standards in San Angelo. We will never stay here again.

The room was great--very large with a desk/table combination, DVD player (DVDs at the front desk), a small kitchenette, nice sized bathroom, comfy bed and recliner. Will definitely come back here on my many trips from New Mexico to the Gulf South and back! Front desk staff was friendly and efficient.
- Chris (2/5): Dirty Room - We stayed at the location for one night. The hotel photos do not depict the room quality we experienced. The decor seemed outdated and old. This made the room feel dirty. There was a grease mark on the headrest part of the chair in the room which made us not want to sit on anything. My wife nearly wanted to sleep in our car due to the conditions of the room. This seemed to be a long-term stay type hotel with kitchenette and full refrigerator. There was a sewage smell coming from the bathroom so we had to close the door. We were so tired from our travels, we didn't bother complaining about the condition, we just wanted to sleep.
