• Randall (10/5): Lindo hotel cerca de la playa. - El mejor lugar donde descansar y relajarse. Excelentes habitaciones con cocina, mucha privacidad (lejos de otras habitaciones), excelente atención. Definitivamente un lindo hotel para visitar el Caribe costarricense.

Tanto el propietario como la persona encargada del mantenimiento de la finca, Aurealiano, están muy pendientes de que todo esté correcto. Ademas, el propietario, Emilio, te ayuda con contactos de la zona que son de su confianza para que tengas el viaje más seguro posible, lo cual es de agradecer. Solo eché en falta un secador para el pelo.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful private apartment bungalow - We stayed for 7 nights and enjoyed it very much - very relaxing days well spent. It was super comfortable, private, clean and had a beautiful garden right around you. Everyone was helpful and very nice! For us it was perfectly located in Cocles, with a supermarket right at the main street, beaches and activities in walking (or biking) distance.

• Georgios (10/5): Stunning house within tropical garden near beach - We stayed at the “Beach House” which was an absolutely stunning house and just a short walk to a beautiful little beach at Playa Chiquita. You can also walk to Punta Uva along the coast which is one of the best beaches in Puerto Viejo. Jenny was friendly, helpful and always with a smile and was always available if we needed anything. The house itself is beautiful and it felt very special to stay here with stunning grounds and amazing wildlife. There was a cleaner who came each day and left the entire house spotless.

• Deena (10/5): Loved It! - We loved our stay at La Finca Chica! The host and his family made us feel right at home and very helpful with questions. The house is in the rain forest and has private access to the beach just a short stroll away. We seen so many beautiful birds, animals and critters. This place is perfect for a family with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. You should stay here to get the full Costa Rican vibe!
• Jesper (8/5): Rumble in the jungle - Nice 2 day stay t the Caribbean coast. A nice wooden finca in the middle of a private jungle-like garden with lots of wildlife. A nice bungalow with a big open space, two smaller sleeping rooms with small queen size beds, shared bathroom and a self-service kitchen (where we only used the fridge). We ate out - both days we went to the French baker close to the residence for breakfast. Be prepared for windows without glass - but you can close the shutters if that gives you some more comfort during the noisy night (thanks to the howler monkeys and other animals) Plesantly surprised to see that we didn’t meet many mosquitos. It was beginning of rain season when we were there, and were not prepared for the high humidity that made drying (bathing)clothes and towels a difficult process. All in all - a nice and private stay close to the jungle (I even saw a keelbilled toucan one early morning).

We enjoyed the jungle/rainforest feel with the sound of many birds and even howler monkeys every morning. The property also provides much privacy. We felt like locals with our own home. We would definitely recommend this rental to our friends.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Absolutely lovely! - We had the house in the jungle that was 100 meters to the beach. We saw a sloth in the front yard and loads of birds and butterflies. Sat in the rocking chairs on the porch for hours just enjoying the beautiful garden. Very comfortable house with everything you need. Emilio was very friendly host.
• Patrice (8/5): Cabins near the beach - We stayed in the small cabin, but as there were two of us it was a great size. The cabin is shady in the afternoon to keep you out of the heat but the downside is the mozzies; the joy of open air living. The local beach is nice and only a five min walk away but there are nicer beaches a short cycle or drive away. The kitchen was great for breakfast but it would be good if they included some basics like cooking oil. Our hosts gave us some great information about snorkling hire and local reefs, refaurants and shady beaches and is generally on hand for any questions.

Housekeeping was good - they did our dishes every day. Owners were very nice and helpful. Great location. Short drive to Puerto Viejo, Punta Uva, manzanillo, Cahuita.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing hotel in the jungle! - As long as you don't mind the spooky sounds of the jungle in the morning this is the place to be - you get a huge cabin (we got upgraded on the second day but the original was big as well). Really are in the middle of nature but with the comforts of home such as a fan, good kitchen/bathroom facilities and even sky TV! Best hotel ive ever stayed in and ive been to a lot.
• aimee (8/5): Nice villas - We booked a 1 room villa but was upgraded to the delux villa due to construction issues. The villas are nice but only offer a fan for cooling. There is netting over the bed if you want to open the windows but that seemed more trouble than it was worth. Over all good stay

• Ursula (10/5): Romantisches Dschungelfeeling - Wir haben 2 Nächte im la Finca Chica verbracht und wären länger geblieben, wenn wir die nächsten Nächte nicht bereits gebucht gehabt hätten. Allein der Aufenthalt im la Finca Chica Bungalow war sein Erlebnis wert. All die Tiergeräusche und entspannte Umgebung waren herrlich. Das karibische Flair der kleinen Ortschaften entlang der Küste ist entspannt und die Bademöglichkeiten im Meer sind sehr schön.

House was great, feels like you're alone on the property. It was great to listen to the nature with insects and wildlife at night

• Mirella (10/5): Exceptional Hotel - Highly Recommend this hotel, beautiful grounds. Nature all around. The owner is very nice and accommodating. Room is very clean. Next to the hotel there is a restaurant named Johanna's. It is delicious, we recommend the Sopa De Mariscos, or seafood soup. It is cream based. Also the Caribbean fish fillet.
• Chris (8/5): Delightful jungle retreat - Drove from Liberia to this jungle hideaway in one day.Didn't look like too big of a drive..wrong! Wasn't the distance-just slow going.. construction,traffic,crazy drivers-got lost.GPS(fastest route) took us downtown San Jose at rush hour-gridlock,dark.Arrived 11pm-owner a bit miffed as was pay upon arrival.We had no communication and didn't want to stop and phone as would take longer.Would have rather paid at booking and we would have both had peace of mind.Cash only-trip to ATM next day.Would rather pay a little extra for convenience of plastic and no ATM charge.Owner nice,easy going. Near as can tell are 3 beautiful,unique,fully equipped cabins for rent.Comfortable and very private.No A/C but good fan-no mosquitoes.Large TV in bedroom which rolls out onto deck sitting/dining area.Very relaxing and tranquil. Approx.3 minute walk to main road,10 minutes to public beach,5 minute drive to delightful village of Puerto Viejo.Watch for bicycles on road day and nite.The locals and tourists mostly ride bikes and exhibit very little common sense.TIP:In P.Viejo Outback Jack's good place to eat..Mama Mia pizza place(cash only) poor value for cost.Highly recommend this stay..Thankyou!!

• Verified traveler (8/5): Cute minimalist cottage rental - This is a house rental in a residential neighborhood, not a hotel nor a B&B. I enjoyed drinkng tea and doing yoga in the morning on the patio and watching the birds in the garden. I would have felt more secure here is there were an in room safe. There is a large kitchen though it was not terribly well furnished (cheap cutlery, no large mixing or salad bowl).

• Verified traveler (8/5): Quite Hotel near the beach - Hotel was about 2 miles away from the center of town. So walking was kinda long but you could rent a bike for about $7 per day. There was a restaurant and grocery store only a meters away which was nice because you could cook your own food and save money. My only problem was the owner did not send me a e-mail saying that he only takes cash, until the last day. This was kinda of a problem but he gave me a $50 discount on the room, that was great.
