Guest Reviews
- Sophie (8/5): - The location is great and the staff there are very helpful and excellent
Brilliant value for money
Beautiful building Would have been good to have a fridge in the bedroom
- Funny Globetrotter (10/5): -
- Piroschka (9/5): -
Nichts!
- MrsBeachy (9/5): Beautiful H
omely Casa - The hotel is beautifully designed & located in a quiet street central to many walkable attractions. The staff were fantastic & its beautifully clean. The only small downsides (for us) was a room up many stairs which was difficult carrying our luggage up & down, and no fridge in the room.
There is no breakfast provided, however a clean shared kitchen is on site (& fridge & filtered water dispenser available it in) with options to cook your own food. However no where local to buy it, without a car, this was unfortunately too hard!
You could probably request a downstairs room, if preferred.
- Karla (10/5): Fantastic location, walkable to Calle 60, Calle 47, main plaza and other city attractions. - Charming rooms and common seating/kitchen area. Nice, warm showers. Emanuel and Roberto were very helpful with recommendations. Traditional breakfast at El Barrio and European pastries at SOCO, just steps from hotel. All good!
- Simon (8/5): Good location, great staff - The reception staff were excellent and made the stay. They helped with bookings, things to do and generally could not do enough for us. Room a bit too close to the front door, but actually not at all noisy
- Michael (9/5): - Very pleasant stay and super friendly staff. Unfortunately the wifi speed and latency in my room, was not good, it might be better in other rooms, but they could add the 5G band and some repeaters to the infrastructure.
- Fitzgerald (10/5): - Great location and ambience Small roomy
- chantal (5/5): Dussapointment - Location Rooms with no window
Extremely small swimming pool
- Fitzgerald (10/5): - So charming and clean Rooms are smallish, but excellent value for the location
- Tamara (9/5): Lovely setting with helpful, friendly staff - I liked the kitchen where residents could gather, having a place to book a tour, and the location that reached both the main downtown easily as well as an area for great food and cultural performances. One of the tours offered very limited vegetarian options, so wish they would make sure partner tour companies accommodate all diets with the wonderful food in the region.
- Juliane (10/5): - Tolle Lage, sehr freundliches Personal. Gerne wieder
- Christine (9/5): Very helpful front desk! Wish we could have stayed longer! -
- Patricia C (9/5): Great value for the location and the staff made you feel like you were home. - All the people/staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I also appreciated the "quiet times" they requested of the guests. The location is fantastic.
- Ellefsen (9/5): Comfortable and relaxed - Clean, comfortable, and helpfull staff Slightly poor sound isolation between the room and the reception.
- Patrick (7/5): -
- Mary Ann (10/5): - The Hotel del Peregrinos makes a wonderful place to stay in Merida. It is well-kept and carefully tended. Super clean, great location to walk to Paseo Montejo and to Cathedral as well as many other sites of interest.
Fernando and Roberto are the real gems here—attentive, knowledgeable about Merida and most helpful. It is located on a quiet street. There is a well equipped kitchen for making breakfast or lunches. Even a two burner electric “stove” for a little more involved meal.
- Dana (9/5): Great hotel! - Very nice hotel, comfortabel rooms and the staff is very nice and helpful! It has all the facilities we needed.
- Leah Michelle (10/5): It was a wonderful, warm and friendly getaway. - This beautiful colonial house is a perfect getaway to relax and feel comfortable in. The beautiful music, ceramic floors in warm tones, and soft illumination contribute to a soothing and uplifting atmosphere.
Fernando and Roberto are a wealth of information and share it willingly and warmly with their guests. Their English is amazing! They contribute greatly to a welcoming environment.
It is within walkable distance to many museums and cultural events in the city.
- Annemarie (10/5): Superknus en dichtbij alles! - Ontzettend aardige, meedenkende staff! Zeer behulpzaam.
Dikke prima allemaal!
Kleinschalighotelletje in koloniaal gebouw.
- Peta (10/5): 100% would stay again - Immaculately clean, it has convenient kitchen facilities so we could make tea and coffee and cook if we wanted to. Delightful outdoor areas. Very happy we found this hotel. Super lovely and helpful staff. Excellent location and easy to park on the street (which was my main worry). Nothing
- Marni (10/5): Great small hotel! -
- Hendrik (9/5): -
- Andreas (10/5): - Superschönes Hotel mit sehr netten Betreibern. Ruhig, zentral gelegen, eine volle Empfehlung -
- Bronwyn (10/5): Clean, well located, good value, and helpful staff! - Very good location, very clean. Close to everything but not a busy crowded street which is a perfect combination.
- Pietro (7/5): Nice hotel, good for a short stay of a few nights - Central location of the hotel and courtesy of the staff The room was very small and the windows could not be opened.
- Scott (10/5): Great Stay! - Great boutique hotel with walkable location to most of the cities attractions! Hotel front desk crew were amazing as well as the housekeeping staff.
- Caroline (8/5): Friendly staff and good value - The staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotlessly clean and there is a kitchen where you can store and prepare food. Location is good, within walking distance of most things. My room was on the ground floor overlooking the kitchen - so essentially windowless and you can hear everything. There may be better rooms on the first floor
- Jerold (9/5): If you want a simple, charming hotel close to the tourist center at a reasonable price, come here! - This is a charming small hotel. The staff are very courteous and friendly. I think most or all spoke English well. It's only two blocks from busy Calle 60 but that felt like it was far away,.. people here were mostly quiet, especially during quiet hours between 9pm-9am. The guest kitchen is nicely equipped (though at least a couple of guests didn't bother to wash their own dishes, opened my carton of milk and maybe even drank (?!) from it... I threw it out). I loved my light and airy room upstairs! But I wonder about people I met who were getting a ground-floor room next to the street. The stairs up aren't wide and (as typical) have no handrails. The worst problem was that my door was almost impossible to close when the sun shone on it; I'm guessing the heat expanded it? Luckily, I felt very safe here; if my door had sprung open, I don't think there'd be a problem. (I heard at least one other guest slam their door. So I didn't bother reporting the problem; I'm sure it's known.)
- Joanna (9/5): -
- Charlie (10/5): - Very good location, very kind and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms with great water pressure.
- Vladana (10/5): - Wonderful small hotel close to the center. Clean facilities. Pleasant and friendly staff. We especially loved talking with Roberto who was always kind, friendly and helpful.
- Erich (7/5): -
- Noemi (10/5): Perfect stay will be back soon - Excellent location, excellent staff Nothing
- Chascoop (9/5): Nice Little Hotel - Location. Within a few blocks of Calle 47 and Paseo de Montejo (clubs, restaurants, etc.). The staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay. Enjoyed the decor. Great a/c. The bed needed a new mattress. The mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. The shower area was super slippery when it got wet. Not sure if it is always that way or whether it was because of what they used to clean it with. You have to wear your shower shoes into the shower for a little traction.
- Abraham (8/5): - The hotel was a few blocks from the city center.
- Marco (9/5): -
- Kin Yi (8/5): -
- Louise (9/5): Will definitely be back, a great spot - Great reception staff who had impeccable knowledge of the area, nothing was too much to ask. The location was fantastic, close enough to some beautiful restaurants and parks and the gorgeous Pasejo de Montejo. The room was clean with a comfortable bed and the shower pressure was surprisingly good. There is an open kitchen where you can store your food and drinks and also cook if you want to, a real bonus. The pool is small but was perfect for me ! My room was on the ground floor and some of the guests - actually adults- were quite loud and inconsiderate. Reception staff took care of it and were extremely apologetic
- Vicki (8/5): - The hotel is tucked away in the outskirts of the historical area, so it was quiet but still close to the plazas etc. There is a central courtyard with plenty of spaces to relax.
The room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed for our stay.
Roberto was welcoming and always on hand to help.
There are some great places to eat nearby. Special mention to Pizzeria Oliva! The bed was quite firm and positioned directly next to a window over the road, so there was some traffic noise.
It took a long time for hot water to come through in the shower.
There was a white powdery residue which seemed to be coming from the ceiling above the TV.
- Robertson (6/5): - Hotel is very clean and staff are helpful. It was very noisy, especially the rooms on the ground floor. Room 6 is right beside the communal kitchen and people head off on day tours early and make a lot of noise in the kitchen before going so suggest requesting that you don't have this one.
- James (10/5): An hotel that feels like home. - Great location in central Mérida. Easy to walk everywhere. Amazing clean , quiet and a most helpful staff. Could have some fresh morning coffee in the kitchen area. But there are two great coffee shops with amazing pastries close by.
- Nicholas (8/5): Fantastic staff: friendly and helpful. Great value for money. Unpretentious and comfortable - Location is phenomenal: right next to historic centre without all of the noise. Walking distance to an embarassment of restaurant choices; if you’re lucky there is free street parking in front of the hotel; guests also receive 20% discount off your tab at Tinok café two blocks away Nothing to report
- Tomida (8/5): -
- Simone (8/5): - perfekte Lage, sehr nettes Personal, gute Gemeinschaftsküche, sehr ruhig
- Brenda (10/5): Agradable - Las habitaciones son limpias y cómodas. El personal es amable
- Jose Fabricio (10/5): CONFORTABLE Y CONVENIENTE - TODO
- Alberto (10/5): We loved the place! and old house converted to a hotel! The room was excellent. - Location, location, location!!!
Close to all of the attractions, site seeing and restaurants downtown Merida. Couldn't get any better!!
- Nicholas (9/5): Unpretentious cozy centrally-located hotel with excellent and responsive staff service - Unpretentious humble cozy hotel that is a stone throw's away from the historical centre of Merida. The hotel staff is phenomenal with their service and attention - singling out Roberto and Fernando for their exceptional help and counsel with all things local. This is an excellent hotel option for solo or couples who travel light and who value service. There is even a 30% discount at the nearby breakfast cafe Tinoc if you are a guest at the hotel. Free parking in front of the hotel was another bonus. I have nothing negative to add about my stay.
- Sally_C_ (8/5): - Loved the location, the whole vibe of the place and the great staff! Site had a few water issues while I was staying there but this was all fixed promptly, with open communication. Didn't affect my overall great experience!
- Jorge Gandarilla (10/5): -
- Mario (10/5): - Location and amazing staff Bed a little too firm
- Rebecca (10/5): - Great hotel with extremely helpful and nice staff.
- Edward (10/5): - The location was excellent . It is in the center of the 'centro' district , a close walk to restaurants, museums, shopping. It's off the main commercial avenues so it's not congested and quieter. The staff is knowledgeable about the area and services (thanks Roberto and Mario) and apparently always at hand (my late-night wifi rescue). I liked staying here.
- Matthew Stephen (8/5): - Looked for a simple yet classic hotel, and it fit the bill. No large pool, classic Mexican decor. Staff was great, location was good, safe area, very walkable, and price was right. Staff can arrange everything and provided recommendations. Would go again.
- Brandon (8/5): - We very much enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in a single king bed room. Everyone on staff was very kind and helpful. The building itself is beautiful. The location is perfect—a short walk to both plaza grande and paseo de Montejo. Great breakfast options down the road (the website mentions a continental breakfast but they did not serve that our 5 days there?). The rooms were clean and the air conditioner kept us very comfortable. Only downsides were our bed wasn't the most comfortable (very firm) and our door had a gap at the bottom so any outside noise was fairly loud in the room. Overall the good far outweighs our two small complaints and Hotel Del Peregrino is a great option to stay while visiting Mérida! 4-4.5 stars
- Matt (10/5): - Both Gabriel and Roberto very helpful with suggestions and locations while staying in Merida!
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Lynn (9/5): Perfect Location, Great Staff - The location of this lovely little hotel is perfect. It is so centrally located, an easy walk to all the sites and restaurants. The staff were absolutely wonderful and informative. We booked the king deluxe room, I just wish it was brighter as it had no outside windows. It was also not very soundproof.
- Louise (10/5): - Staff is friendly and helpful, beautiful clean rooms, great location close to the center but not on the main strip so it’s not too loud.
- Barbara (9/5): Lovely end to our week long stay in the Yucatán. Hotel quite satisfactory, great location and very helpful staff - Centrally located, simple clean rooms, nice space for hanging out in the kitchen - great welcoming and helpful staff One room for a couple pretty small. Need to request king or two beds
- Dorcas Elaine (8/5): - The staff was extremely kind & accommodating but there was no coffee or breakfast available in the hotel which surprised me. There was a communal kitchen if anyone wanted to make something themselves. It was a nice, small, clean hotel, but very basic.
- Matteo (9/5): An honest and not expensive solution for quick stays in Merida - Clean and nice and ventilated interior patio.
Sorry we didn’t have time to use the pool. No Windows in our king size bed room..
- Poyer (10/5): We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the wonderful staff! - Clean, friendly, and superb staff. All good!
- Ballinger (9/5): Ticks all the boxes for great accommodation - The room was clean and Charming. Federico accommodated my 2:00 a.m. arrival. Roberto was at the desk when I awoke and give me a map to explore downtown. Great place and a great location.
- Carol (10/5): - Staff went over and above to meet our every need. We walked 3-4 miles a day throughout the historic district and felt completely safe. There are many lovely restaurants and shops a short walk away. We hope to return next year. Merida is a gem!
- Mary (5/5): Passable -
- David (10/5): - Check in was very easy. Our room was very clean and quiet. (The hotel has quiet hours between 9 pm & 9 am.) The staff were friendly and very responsive, calling taxis for us as needed. A small guest refrigerator in the open kitchen was available. The small pool holds about 6 people and the patio is delightful. Very walkable to the historic Centro or the Paseo de Montejo area.
- Markewich (7/5): Good - the staff was great and accomodating. the first night was in a room with a rock hard bed facing the street and was VERY noisy. The staff moved me to an internal room and it was much better
- Michelle (8/5): - The property is well located with good options for eating and coffee houses. Very walkable area with park and nearby shopping. Owner and staff are quite helpful and friendly! Thank you.
- Manuel (8/5): Very pleasant stay ☺️ - Each member of the Staff was always (literally) friendly and social, we always had a small conversation when returning after our long day trips. Equally important, they were always eager to help and listen. Nothing too big, but I would check upon arrival that the bathroom mirror is well held in position. Our room had a mirror holding from a single screw in the bathroom door, so it would bounce when moving the door, and you would need to be careful when moving the door. I don't know if it's the same case in the other rooms.
- Dianne (8/5): Very helpful staff and beautiful restored building. - Beautifully decorated. Bedding wasn’t too comfortable and room had a smell
- Jane (8/5): Very good - Knowledgeable front desk staff, great location within easy walking distance from historic center, attractive building with lovely tile work, access to filtered water and coffee/tea making in shared kitchen with guest fridge, AC and ceiling fan, desk, small table & chairs and lock box in room. Appreciated good communication by email before arrival about canceled breakfast service. Breakfast service was canceled because the seating was close to ground floor rooms and guests had complained about noise. We like to book hotels that offer breakfast so were disappointed. The $200 pesos refund for 2 people per night was clearly not enough to cover buying breakfast outside. The staff kindly suggested places to eat.
- Danny (4/5): Will not return. - Breakfast was ok with assortment. We only had cereal and fruit but eggs were available prepared different ways. The noise. We were next door to the kitchen/breakfast area. Avoid rooms on first floor. The odor of fragrance sprayed in our room. The zen type music playing too loud and too early in the morning until late evening.
- Nathalie (10/5): - Really good service, very friendly . We travel with our bikes and they really help us so it can be easy. We enjoy our trip!
- Tim (8/5): Very good - Friendliness of the staff
Pool area
- Wanda (10/5): - The place is charming and the manager is super helpful in suggesting things to do and arranging a taxi when needed. Highly recommend!
- Jakob (2/5): Noisy, loud hotel. Do not stay - Don’t stay here if you want a good night rest. We were placed downstairs right by the breakfast area and couldn’t sleep all night due to other guests being loud between 11-12pm and virtually no sound isolation, felt like they were inside our room. Then we were woken up by them making breakfast (which they did tell us) but they said they would be quiet, well if the rooms would have any noise isolation it would’ve been ok but we could hear them cracking the eggs.
I would suggest you to look at other hotels.
- Nancy (6/5): Pleasant - Breakfast was included and was good. It's location is very good, you can walk to most places. They use a local laundry service that returns your clothes same day at a great price. Facility needs an upgrade. The bathroom door lock broke, and we couldn't use it for over a day. They had us use a bathroom in an empty room down the hall. It's hairdryer didn't work. You would think they would comp us the 1 water and 1 beer on our tab, but no.
- Francisco (10/5): - No frills hotel
