Guest Reviews
- Sven (6/5): 2 days in Hanoi - Location was perfect. In the middle of Old Quarter.
The reception was very helpful. No windows. The tap in the bathroom was loose. The safety box didn’t work at all.
- Margaret (1/5): I booked a pick up from the airport didn’t happen. No one at the airport to greet me. More bad thing - Breakfast was ok a bit of a walk but adequate Location

- Chrissy (7/5): Simple city stay no frills - Very easy to access in middle of old quarter, hot shower. The guy at the front desk downstairs was so helpful, we’d just got off a long bus journey and were bedding down for the night & he immediately sorted us a bus for sapa the next morning, organised it all & opened up breakfast earlier the next morning so we could eat before we set off. Such a good guy!! Bed was a little hard, but I wasn’t too bothered we just stayed for a night before a 6am bus
- Nathan (5/5): Good location but beware the rooms are not as advertised. - It's a great location in the centre of the old quarter. The staff are lovely. They have a room to store bags on checkout day. The rooms looked nothing like the photos and were nowhere near as nice. Functional but incredibly basic and not comfortable. The windows did not have a seal and kept none of the noise out. I think it's way overpriced vs other hotels I have stayed at within the area
- Alviz (4/5): - Location, it’s near everywhere. Shower water too low to none, breakfast is in another hotel (had to walk for about 200m), TV didn’t work at all the whole time we were there. I hope the management fix this permanently.
But they were kind enough to hold our luggage for 2 days (we were in Sapa) prior our actual check-in.
- Kim (4/5): - The staff were very friendly and kind. Room was ready early. Location is great. This is not a 3 star hotel. The room was very small and very hot when we arrived. Dirty walls and wallpaper peeling off. We paid extra for a nicer room too so I don’t know what the most basic rooms are like. The shower barely worked - got water out of about half the shower head. It was like a tiny trickle. Bed sheets were old and worn.
- Tomer (10/5): - The staff were very friendly and helped me with everything
- Alexan (10/5): - The staff are very enthusiastic and attentive, helped me a lot, the room is clean and cleaned every day
- Sundeep (5/5): Not a guest friendly hotel - They should improve the quality and behaviour Hospitality
- Sarthak (7/5): -
- Millie (10/5): Lovely staff and great stay! - The staff were lovely and helpful, comfy beds and good shower! Great location, would stay again.
- Xavier (10/5): -
- Suthakaran (7/5): -
- Roving56961992980 (10/5): I like it - The hotel is located right in the heart of the old town, an extremely convenient location for traveling to famous attractions, night markets, cafes and local restaurants. The rooms are delicately designed, clean, fully equipped and very quiet despite being located in the middle of a bustling neighborhood. The staff is professional, friendly and always ready to assist guests at any time. The price is reasonable compared to the quality of service. This is definitely one of the great choices if you want to fully enjoy the beauty and bustle of the old town.
- Sherpa31130343623 (10/5): memorable experience - I had the opportunity to stay at the Skyline Hotel during my recent business trip to Hanoi and was really satisfied with my experience here.
The hotel is located at 16C Trung Yen Street, right in the heart of the Old Quarter, very convenient for traveling to famous attractions such as Hoan Kiem Lake, Dong Xuan Market or the Opera House. The surrounding area also has many restaurants, cafes and convenience stores.
The room is clean and fully equipped. I especially like the simple but sophisticated decoration, creating a comfortable feeling like at home. The bed is comfortable, the air conditioner works well and the bathroom is always clean, with enough personal items.
The hotel staff is very friendly and professional. From the moment I checked in, I was warmly welcomed and carefully guided. The reception team is always ready to assist whenever I need.
The hotel provides airport shuttle service, tour booking and luggage assistance. In addition, there is also laundry service and simple breakfast, suitable for the needs of short-term or business guests. Skyline Hotel is an ideal choice for those who want to stay near the center of Hanoi with reasonable prices, good service and a quiet, comfortable resting space. I will definitely come back here next time.
- M1802IDsineadm (4/5): Would not recommend - Unfortunately I would not recommend, poor management skills, although the people on reception were lovely there was a lack of professionalism as they were quite young, the oldest person was max 21. The A/C in the room is awful, it smells really bad and it doesn’t cool down the room very well, the shampoo and body wash smelled really bad so we had to go buy our own, there was loads of banging at night inside the hotel , alarms going off and some one constantly using the elevator. The breakfast is also not in the hotel, it’s a 3-5 minute walk away. When we complained about our lack of sleep due to the noise, nothing was done about it. Also they charge you an extra 3% for using card which no other hotel has done in Vietnam. There are much nicer hotels for the same price or less that are very close to this hotel.
- Roderick (8/5): Good value in the middle of the action - The room was good value for being in the middle of the main area of interest. Though our particular room did not have windows, it was comfortable and quiet
- Irina (8/5): Very good - Old hotel on the Old Quarter.
Nice location.
I would like to express special gratitude to Kane for help. He’s really nice guy who always ready to help you! Shower was broke
- Culture26992473418 (10/5): A wonderful experience at Skyline Hotel Hanoi – 5 stars for service and hospitality! - I have just finished a 4-day, 3-night stay at Skyline Hotel Hanoi and I was very satisfied, even beyond my expectations. From the moment I arrived at the hotel, I was warmly welcomed, friendly and professional. The reception staff were always smiling, enthusiastically supporting all requests - from early check-in, booking taxis, to introducing local dining and sightseeing places.
The room was clean, spacious and elegantly decorated. I was especially impressed with the comfortable bed, soft pillows and quiet space - all contributing to a good night's sleep after a day of exploring Hanoi's Old Quarter. The bathroom was modern, fully equipped with amenities such as a hairdryer, strong and continuous hot water, and towels were changed every day.
The buffet breakfast, although not very diverse, was of good quality and full of Asian and European dishes. In particular, I really enjoyed the traditional Vietnamese dishes such as pho, vermicelli and sticky rice served hot every morning. The restaurant staff were also very friendly, always ready to bring more coffee or serve dishes upon request.
The location of Skyline Hotel is really a big plus – located right in the old quarter, just a few minutes walk to Hoan Kiem Lake, Dong Xuan Market and famous tourist attractions. However, the hotel still maintains its quiet and private atmosphere, very suitable for visitors who want to rest after walking around.
What I appreciate most is the dedication and professionalism of the staff – from the manager, receptionist to the room staff. They are always ready to support and make me feel like I am at home, not just a normal guest.
I will definitely return to Skyline Hotel Hanoi in the future and will not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends and relatives. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
- Adanah (3/5): Poor - smell bad
- Baker (9/5): Superb -
- Shanaia (6/5): Would not recommend - Service and breakfast are really good as well as friendly staff. Everything functioned well, aircon and lightings as well as hot water !
The staff cleaned every day , giving fresh towels and new water bottles ! Fruits and hot breakfast like bacon and eggs and pho were available for breakfast which is awesome!
For the price it’s alright. We didn’t enjoy having to walk to another building for breakfast but it was a full breakfast with so many choices. However, online info is a little misleading.
The room felt comfortable but the bathroom felt a little outdated. Also, we’ve been asked to delete or edit our comment.
- WendyFiji (2/5): Be warned. Dishonest reception worker Xi Jue. - I purchased a SIM card from Xi Jue at Reception. He told me it was 5gb data per day and charged me for it. Later I discovered he had already used the ‘new’ Simcard and it had only 1gb data in total left on the card. The sim was useless. Xi Jue was very tricky in making it look like he took a fresh Simcard from its backing. Very dishonest. If this is what he does to someone just wanting a Simcard, I would suggest he may be being dishonest to people staying at the Skyline. He happily took my money and appeared genuine. Very disappointing and caused much frustration.
- Nigel (7/5): Good -
- Ritchie (7/5): Good - Great location
- Jonathan (5/5): If you want a budget hotel this might be for you. - I did not go to the hostel for breakfast. The pillows and bed were comfortable if you like hard like I do. The location is in the part of town that every time you leave or go outside someone is trying to sell you something illegal. From drugs to adult entertainment. The rooms floors were always dirty, no slippers provided. The bathtub was stained and the room
Was a little creepy. The towels are older than me and smell like bleach. Which may be a good thung?
- Dave (9/5): Ken on the front desk is really helpful. definitely ask him for help, his english is pretty good :) - the breakfast is at a backpackers down the road 100m, but it is actually really good.
my room was said to come with city view but didn't - Ken explained this means has a window facing the city, he offered to move me to a higher floor so I would have city view but I said it was okay.
- Brandon (8/5): Very good -
- Aethelstan (10/5): The place was perfect for what we need. - Right in the heart of old quarter but tuck away where it’s actually very quiet at night. A little hard to find.
- Justin (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (3/5): Poor -
- Leonidas (4/5): Disappointing - No window in the room, a lot of humidity especially during the night.
- Ebrahimi (3/5): Poor -
- Ava (10/5): FOR THE PRICE WE PAID...NO COMPLAINTS..JUST PICKY ON SOME THINGS. - To be honest...
The pictures were much better..
The carpet under the bed was dusty and in the toilet the bath tub was breaking at the end..the shower head was dirty...
And the windows was not clean..
But overall THE STAY WAS FANTASTIC.
TWI & TANG took good care of us..very helpful.
Location was PERFECT.
- Md. (8/5): Staffs were too friendly and supportive - Nice and delicious
- Elīna (4/5): Disappointing - Location, option to book excursions. I did not get the room that I booked for the first night. It was dirty, old and had no window. The hotel only offered a very small compensation and also involved my age in the conversation about compensation, indicating that I am too young to complain. I needed to involve Booking.com to solve the issue.
- Francisvanesterik (5/5): An OK stay with a room without a window surprise, but the hot bath, and location made up for it. - The bathtub was absolutely the best—mainly because of the consistently hot water, which is quite rare in Vietnam!
For breakfast, we were taken to a buffet at another hostel, which turned out to have a good selection of food.
The hotel’s location is another plus. It’s right in the heart of the buzzing old town, making it super convenient to explore the area. One thing that wasn’t clear from the description was that our room had no window. This was a bit disappointing, as we expected otherwise.
- Hannah (8/5): Very good -
- Tim (8/5): Happy times in a great city. - Great location for exploring and felt secure. Great street coffee a short walk away. Breakfast was on another location ie the local hostel. Only went for breakfast there once.
- Rosemary (8/5): Great location. I would stay here again. - Room was clean, bed was comfortable. The hotel is down a narrow alley off the main road so it is quiet at night. Great location. Breakfast buffet is not in this hotel. It is up the road, down a narrow alley and up to the 10th floor of a hostel. We tried to book a tour to Ha Long Bay with the front desk staff but it was too hard to communicate with front desk staff. Showers were hard to adjust.
- Ashoka (9/5): Lovely stay with friendly staff - Had to go to another place for breakfast
- Jörgen (8/5): Very good -
- Angel (8/5): Great value for your money - Great location, clean confortable and fantastic breakfast The only con is that the breakfast is served in a different building, but is only a 2min walk and is totally worthy.
- Haither (9/5): Reasonable - Clean and good
- Evan (10/5): Exceptional - The position was right in the middle of the old town. The staff are excellent. Breakfast is located a very short walk away.
- Z7142QDmikek (8/5): Great Location and customer service - The location of this hotel is great for exploring the city. It's right near so much. Rooms are a little tight and could use updating but the customer service is very good. There was an issue with my booking through Agoda and despite being well after my stay, the customer service for Skyline was very helpful in getting it corrected with the Agoda people so that I was not improperly charged.
- Gerla (8/5): Very good -
- Kris (7/5): Good -
- Agnieszka (4/5): Disappointing - Very well located. It does not look like in the pictures.
Double superior room comes with no window.
Breakfast is served in other building.
- Ilya (10/5): Exceptional -
- NengIgnacio (6/5): Hotel near shops and night market and street food - This hotel is situated at the main city, if you need to be at the street food area and local shops this place is for you. The hotel is basic if you are nit choosy you can stay here. It has a small waiting area front desk. Maybe for me just a 2 star not 3 star. It’s located near a small alley after the main street. The elevator had a problem during our stay but they fixed it yet still the second floor you have to go to the stairs. Small hotel for backpackers and just to have a room to stay since you’re out all day. Breakfast is in another rooftop hotel. It’s surprising that the food was good. Not much but we liked the taste of the Pho and the fruits. Near all shops and food area. The close the streets during weekends for the market thing. Staff is very helpful which made our stay better
- Joanna (8/5): Very good - Small hotel on the very quiet street in the city Center, it was perfect for relaxing, big bed, clean room, only sometimes elevator didn’t work. Really nice stuff, breakfast was served in the hostel nearby and it was good, both pho and continental. We booked extra airport pick up and the driver was very careful
- Sendy (9/5): Superb -
- Dragos (9/5): Nice hotel, good value for money, absolutely reccomended - Very friendly personnel and ready to help.
We organised through them also a tour at the last moment and were very satisfied.
They organise also transfer from and to the airport (for an additional cost) which is handy especially during night or early morning.
The position is perfect, right into the heart of the city center but in a quiet street that avoids noise during night.
Very clean rooms, which have as complimentary both tooth brush and paste (on top of normal coffee, tee, etc).
Each day they put us in the room 1 fresh water bottle each. Rooms without windows.
Breakfast is in another building, 3 minutes walking from the hotel.
- Eric (5/5): Overpriced and bad staff behaviour - Right in the best part of Hanoi Elevator door wouldn't close, breakfast was 5 minutes away in a backpackers hostel, toilet blocked, no window in the room. But worst of all, the staff guy was pushing me to do a review and touching me and feeling me while I was doing it and pressuring me to change my review while I was writing it. Bottom line is the place is very overpriced for what I got.
- Sendy (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucas (8/5): Very good -
- Joe (8/5): Very good - Very nice hotel and staff. Room was comfortable and good value for money. The location was handy as well. Room was a bit small but to be expected. The shower/bath leaked when used so floor in the bathroom was always wet.
- Itay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julian (7/5): Quite rooms in the middle of the old quarter - Delicious breakfast in a skyline bar (close to the hotel with a walk smaller than 1 minute). Really helpful staff and a comfortable bed. Really quiet rooms for the old quarter. No windows in the room (as expected).
- Christine (9/5): Superb -
- Kinkeri (9/5): Good Stay - The hotel was in the perfect centre of old quarter, comfortable to stay. Vegetarian breakfast is available and provided at another place on 10th floor of that building.
- Bernadette (8/5): Very good - The staff were super friendly and helpful.
Clean.
Breakfast was good.
Location great for walking around.
Quiet for sleeping. The hotel room did not look like the photos on booking. It's a bit more run down but it's clean, comfortable and good value.
- Kate (8/5): Very good - Smile and Ken, the receptionists, were both nice, warm, and accommodating. These two deserve to be commended. We had a pleasant stay overall.
Also, breakfast was good too as we had many choices. The room's just a bit smaller than we expected.
- Anna (9/5): Great value and stay - Great location so central to old quarter and somehow still very quiet. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast kind of cold but it was still nice
- Tom (10/5): Friendly staff, very clean, great location! - Friendly staff, very clean, great location!
- Marcin (8/5): Very good - Reception was really great and helpful Breakfast are not in the same bulding
- Kirsty (7/5): Good -
- Reif (10/5): Value for money - Friendly staff, good facilities
- Magdalena (7/5): Good -
- Yvette (10/5): Skyline Hotel Hanoi - A Truly Wonderful Stay. - My partner and I recently stayed at the Skyline Hotel Hanoi, and we had an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly lovely and friendly, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect.
One of the highlights for us was the huge, comfortable bed in our room – it made for the best night's sleep. The room itself was spacious, spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hotel's location was another major plus, being right in the heart of the Old Town, close to all the amazing streets and attractions we wanted to explore.
The staff's helpfulness truly stood out. When we lost our motorbike key and panicked, they quickly assured us everything was fine. To our immense relief, they informed us that the key had been left in the ignition overnight and that the bike was safe and sound – such honesty and care are rare and deeply appreciated.
To top it off, I accidentally left my passport behind when checking out. The staff were extremely accommodating and quick to assist in getting it back to me, saving me a lot of stress.
I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and professionalism throughout our stay. We highly recommend the Skyline Hotel Hanoi to anyone looking for a wonderful, hassle-free experience in this vibrant city. Thank you again for making our trip so memorable! Where you eat breakfast can get crowded and hot quickly. But overall, it was still fine with a good selection of food on offer.
- Nishanth (10/5): Amazing - The hosts and the breakfast was the best part. Felt very familiar and easy. Great place. Reasonable price. Kane is a great host. Nothing
- Laura (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (10/5): Heaven in the heart of Hanoi - The hotel met my 3 Cs criteria. Clean, comfortable, and close.
The reception staff went out of their way to make our stay the best it could be.
This hotel definitely rates extremely high on my satisfaction scale and is highly recommended. Not a thing.
- Niroshan (8/5): Wonderful stay - The receptionists "Smile" and "Kane" were really nice and helpful. The location is perfect slap bang in the centre of old quarter. I would definitely stay here again. Nothing in particular
- Nancy (8/5): Great location and quiet overnight - Well-located hotel within walking distance of Hanoi’s main attractions, with an excellent buffet breakfast just 2 minutes away. The staff are friendly.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - I stayed in this hotel for several days. The younger man and younger woman at the desk were both very helpful. They will help you if you have any questions. They both worked hard. The young woman works during the night in another hotel where I first stayed and in this hotel in the morning. Breakfast is in a different place. It’s in a hostel where it’s quite busy with several young tourist. I preferred to eat outside.
- Tuân (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthias (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were extremely helpful and friendly - great. Easy to book activities from here like taxis, tours etc.
Rating 10/10
Staff, room and cleanliness. Great breakfast.
- Anantha (8/5): Very good -
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - Location staff and amenities value for money N/A
- Wedson (10/5): Exceptional - Everything is worth the price, they are very enthusiastic, always welcome me with a smile, they helped me book tours like Ha Long Bay, Ninh Binh,....
Although the hotel is located in the center of the old town, the hotel is very quiet, I like it
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - Staff location and value for money N/a
- Josh (5/5): Shoddy, try to stay somewhere else. - Locations pretty good, close to everything Gave us the wrong room, tried to force us to stay in there despite having another room available - offered us €3 back… we eventually argued and we got our room. They then tried to charge us a 4% card fee to pay the room - never had this in a hotel. After staff discussed with management they refunded this charge and apologised.
