Close to Caverns and about 1 hour from Virginia and Nevada historical cities. Lower bar has live music on weekends but didn't hear from my room. Large covered wraparound porch for after drinkies and firetables & blankets for comfortable evening card playing!

• Caxman (8/5): Happily anticipating my next stay! - Second time here and will make it a regular stop. I stay in hotels 3 nights of every week. This is far and away one of the most comfortable facilities and environments I have been at. The cottages are amazing! The hotel is nostalgic but with most all the amenities of modern ones. What they don't have is made up by the environment and uniqueness not in other hotels. Greeted with a glass of champagne and warm hand towel. Smiling faces and gentle voices making you believe they do actually want you there. The lobby is quiet, very comfortable, and plenty of spaces to spread out. I get the experience of 1900's luxury travel.

And the restaurant is unforgettable. The heat was left on prior to our arrival and the room was so hot the chocolates melted! But after opening a window it was comfortable for the remainder of the stay.
• clarksdale (8/5): Could be so much better, with little effort - Atmospheric old hotel. We arrived early, and the receptionist was dismissive and unwelcoming. We came back an hour later, and the receptionist then, Maggie, couldn’t have been more welcoming and warm. ( management, however much you’re paying her, it’s not enough ), The room is a modest size, and a bit boring, although one of the most expensive in the hotel (Charbonneau). It is in the top floor. It had dressing gowns. Breakfast was cereal, yoghurt, and banana bread, served on a landing with no seating. Downsides? The lobby is lovely, looks inviting, but we couldn’t use it as it was so cold in the evening. No fridge, microwave, or coffee machine in the room or lobby. Our room was on the third floor; there is no elevator. I am 72 yrs old and we had two chunky suitcases. I am more than capable of doing my own heavy lifting, but an offer of assistance would have been appropriate and appreciated. The place should be so much better.

• R2987AQmattp (10/5): My Favorite Hotel in the U.S. - I'll be honest: If you're looking for a slick, contemporary, cookie-cutter hotel that's like every other hotel, this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for a place with an amazing staff, character, charm, good food and wonderful beds, you'll love this place. The staff is amazing. From check in (complete with a glass of champagne and a warm towel--just the ticket when you're coming in from a week in Montana's back country)--to dinner at either the Sacajawea Bar or Pompey's Grill, you will be treated like a visiting dignitary. The two dining options have an excellent variety of choices and the food is top-notch. And you won't find a cleaner hotel anywhere. The rooms are finished with period furnishings and you almost expect to hear the whistle of a steam locomotive bringing more guests from the east. The hotel's location makes it a great location for your base camp as you explore the attractions of Montana. Can't wait to go back.

• Darcy (9/5): A sweet, perfect, romantic getaway for a wedding anniversary. - I loved the hotel, the porch around the hotel, the smores kit you can purchase, the champagne when you arrive, the cottages, the fully stocked fridge, the rocking chairs outside each cottage, etc. Parking. There needs to be more parking available especially if there is a wedding going on. Not necessarily about the property, but that the pictures advertised a fireplace and we thought our cottage would have the fireplace but we apparently were booked in the ADA cottage which didn’t come with it. Then we learned that the fireplaces are just for looks. False advertising but we still loved our cottage. Would have loved to have known it was an ADA one beforehand as well.

We enjoyed relaxing with the gas fire pits I was very disappointed that the hotel doesn’t recycle plastic or glass. The amount of water bottles and other plastic that I had to throw in the trash was horrible For such a beautiful state, with national parks as a fabulous treasure why would you destroy it with landfills full of trash that could be recycled 😩

I loved the historical old building and decor, the front desk staff that offered champagne upon check in, the wrap around porch all lit up at night, the quaint little town where we got a delicious breakfast from the friendly locals the next day. The room we stayed in was simple and small but all the rest of it made up for that!
• Joseph (10/5): Best Hotel in Three Forks - Best thing about the property was the lovely staff, including Victoria, Maria, Roger, and manager Kay. But I also loved the classic feel of the place. Felt like I was staying with friends, not in a random hotel. I stayed two nights and greatly preferred the King size bed and room to the queen size one.

• Abigail (7/5): Vintage, elegant and clean, the Sacajawea Hotel is an experience worth experiencing! - The building was clean and elegant. The food at both restaurants was fantastic! The staff were flexible and helpful. I loved the porch. The room was very small, along with the bed. While the clawfoot tub was charming, it was an adjustment to shower. Being that it is an old building, it was not very sound proof. We could hear the music from the bar come up through the floor and creaking from people walking around above us. The earplugs were a welcome tool! I fan or white noise machine would have been helpful, as well.

• Ken (10/5): - A beautifully restored hotel with great customer service. Loved our stay here from the welcome champagne, wide front porch with chairs and fire table for roasting marshmallows. There are 2 restaurants on the property, one fine dining and the other casual. Live music on both Friday and Saturday night during our stay. Located less than 30 minutes from Bozeman in a small town with a few cafes and bars. Near a state park.

Rooms are small, floors somewhat squeaky, nice, tiled shower, no-tub, AC fan covers street noise during small traffic busy times, Hotel is on the main street of a very small town. Downstairs bar & grill, OK bar food, pleasant atmosphere. Overall, a fun stay with a good night's rest.

• Gregory (8/5): - The hotel itself is historic and charming and lobby is lovely and authentic Western yet stylish. The food in the Sac Bar was great and the service friendly. Amazing pork porterhouse and wonderful coconut cream pie. My only complaint, and it’s a big one, is only having 12 channels and MSNBC of all networks during a major event was frustrating and downright unbelievable. Close enough to Bozeman and Helena to make for a nice short stay. Would like to explore the adjacent cabins which looked very appealing. Fix the TV and get MSNBC off the program!

I was too tired to complain but I’m wondering if that’s the best practice for a nice hotel (having the tv blaring when you walk into your room doesn’t scream luxury!)

• Viola (10/5): Amazing Hotel and Staff - We had an amazing stay at this hotel. It’s the first time we were greeted and welcomed with a glass of champagne. Victoria was working the front desk. She was friendly and made us feel right at home. We plan to stay again at this hotel. It’s been on bucket list for years.

• Marci (8/5): - I have stayed at the Sac many times over the years. I love it there. The only thing I really miss about staying there that has fallen by the wayside--perhaps b/c of the pandemic era--was the room service breakfast. You used to be able to pick what you would like to have served to your room the night before and it would be served w/ real dishes and silverware, etc. This service made the stay stand out among all hotels in the area. It was a classy touch. The Sac does offer a quaint continental breakfast on the 2nd floor, but it is awkward to carry your things back to your room or down the stairs to the lobby. It included hard boiled eggs, dry cereals, milk, juice, muffins, coffee, tea, etc. But seriously, being able to have a lovely soft boiled egg and toasted Wheat Montana bread or a bowl of hearty hot oatmeal w/ all the fixings and a carafe of hot beverage served directly to your room was the cherry on top--especially in the winter. I notice so many businesses have realized that they can still charge as much or more for their services by offering less than they once did, but it would be great to see some revert back. :)
• G4074POpatriciac (6/5): Meh! - Beautiful hotel. HOWEVER, not a five star review. The entrance and lobby area are gorgeous. Check in was easy, the stairs to the room were lovely as were the historic touches. While at first glance the room was also beautiful, the wheels quickly came off. A Queen size bed with nice linens. The window air conditioner ensured every noise from the street was magnified through the vent. The drapes do not close to block noise or light. The bathroom had one beautiful robe, but not two. The fan in the bathroom sounded like a jet engine taking off and the only light over the sink flickered but never came all the way on to full steady light. The fabric shower curtain was crisp and white but the plastic liner was covered in pink mildew. It was like the last page of the checklist for ‘amazing hotel room’ was left off the hotel managers handbook. For $270 I expected near perfection. This wasn’t it

• Marcia (10/5): Wonderful old hotel - Well maintained old hotel. King suite was wonderful. Lots of room and comfy bed. Simple cold breakfast items available. Be prepared that there is not much to see or do in town, and restaurant choices are limited. Kind of "forces" you to relax on the expansive wrap around porch.
