Guest Reviews
- DAIGO (6/5): Location only - Location only. You should open and close the gate like stone age...there is no WiFi in room at all. There is no restaurant unlike on website and forces to pay N$ 250 for a meal ,for which there is no proper information beforehand, if you want to have dinner. Basically no sense of service.
- Luis (4/5): - The river front And vegetation is incredible The place is not well maintained its a pitty as the place And staff are nice.
- luciano (6/5): -
- Monika (9/5): - Very friendly staff. Cool open bungalows with river view. Nice comfortable bar aeria with an easy going honesty bar.
- Wolf (9/5): seeehr ruhig.
- Sarah (10/5): - Awesome place, very friendly people, sad that we could stay only one night.
- Patricia (10/5): Wonderful - Fantastic staff in the whole site, great attitude and very welcoming to join a wonderful braai that same evening that was certainly unexpected. Absolutely nothing, it was all great.
- Deids (2/5): False advertisement - Not advised - birds and sounds of nature upon arrival after a 10.5 hour drive and tired we wanted to know if the restaurant will be able to provide us with a light dinner (it was just after 18h00) only to be informed with a blatant no due to the chef that left already and that we must drive to town if we wanted anything. We booked for 3 adults (1 room) however the room only had 1 double bed and a small old dirty mattress (looked like a bed made for a dog) on the floor in front of the double bed. Very small...Lots of bugs and lizzards. No view due to 2 thick pieces of canvas sheets that covered the area that was suppose to be the windows. We were very shocked and not looking like the pictures on Booking.com at all. Lots of focus on certain areas of the garden however Lots of deserted areas. Not recommended at all...the photos on Booking.com not the same at all!
- Judy (7/5): Good - beautiful site, good meal
- Tony (8/5): Excellent choice - can't wait to get back there again. - Once you get over the fact that this is a rustic establishment, it grows on you like hairs. Set in a lovely wooded area overlooking the Zambezi River, this idyllic piece of paradise is wonderful. Accommodation is very rustic with no frills, with a tent set up to an adjoining bathroom area. No fridge, aircon, fan or coffee station is provided but our portable fridge saved us.
Breakfasts and dinners were very good served by pleasant staff.
We went on a birding boat cruise with Conner which we enjoyed and the next day did birding by car with Christiana along the Chobe River which was excellent. For birders this is the place to be. Rustic as it is, leave it that way. Maybe a little fridge would be nice.
- Bruce (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mandy (8/5): Very good - Great location with wonderful service and clean comfortable rooms. The thick bush in front of the rooms could be trimmed a little to open up that spectacular view.
- Gert (10/5): Definitely want to go back for longer! - Enjoyed the, in the bush, on the river feeling. Room opening onto the river and open shower suited the general feeling and made it the expected experience. Nothing - everything was in accordance with our expectations - the accommodation, bar and braai area right down to the river cruise was really special.
- Birge (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (9/5): Superb - Beautiful location at the Zambezi. If you are a birder, this is the place to be! Curt is a really nice host and will make sure that you know where to find your target birds. Many thanks, Daniel
- Claudia (8/5): Very good -
- Bosman (6/5): Relaxed - Breakfast good
- Van (9/5): Superb -
- Horst (1/5): Place has no house boat but only a sort of camping boat. - Bathroom is below standard, bungalow requires major maintenance. Dinner was fine, breakfast was also ok. Host showed little interest in us and admin records were not up to date. Will certainly not visit again.
- Richard (10/5): Great stay and available means - Great place since I stayed there many years ago..
Otherwise all good . All great
- Marí (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicholas (7/5): Good -
- Alan (9/5): Went there for one night and enjoyed our stay. - Had dinner and breakfast, good meals with no frills.
Lovely situation and met all expectations. Nothing
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful staff, great breakfast, nice bird watching. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there.
- Hendrik (10/5): Enjoyable stay - It was good in all respects. Friendly staff.
- Pierre (8/5): - Really Quiet and beautifull site on the river
friendly hospitality
Possibility of tour/fishing tour on the river
- Arthur (10/5): Fantastic, environmentally friendly accommodation - The proprietors were extremely helpful and went way out of their way to cater for the wishes of guests, including running a private bird-watching trip. They are keen environmentalists and are welcoming to anyone with an interest in nature.
- österreich (8/5): Originell - Hunde (5) sollte man mögen.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice view ober the Zambezi! - Hippos directly in front of the lodge. Nice to See them!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was a very nice stay and we had a great boat cruise
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to nature, on the river - It is a small resort in a beautiful environment with friendly people
- Christopher (8/5): - Nice place on the River and it is good to book the dinner to Enjoy the full ambiance especially if you do not have your own transportation!
- Stheni (2/5): Beautiful place just not loved.. - Having driven over Namibia for over 2 weeks this was the one place I will not miss. We felt very unwelcome there. The host despite having our booking on his computer was not aware of our arrival in spite of the fact that we were only one of 2 guests there. We were booked in their rented room, the Zips to the door net were broken, there was no padlock for the tent, the shower head was missing. He promised to replace that but that was the last we saw of him till the next day. The room was not tidied up. All he could say was that he could move us to a chalet but we had to pay N$800pp! Never setting foot on this property again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excelent staff!
Excelent wiev abaut the River!
Hippos at the garden in the River.
