- Rick (8/5): - Wifi in the room was weak and faded in and out. Pretty much useless. I also noticed it was slow in the lobby as well. Carpets everywhere need a good cleaning. Furniture in room was tired and worn but 5 stars for cleanliness. Staff was amazing - friendly and helpful. Dining area was perfect. Food was excellent.

- Beth (8/5): - Loved the grounds and the grand building.. I know it is an old building, but the management needs to take care of the rooms. Our towel bar in the bathroom was very loose and could fall off the wall. We did not use it and reported it to the front desk.
- Maddie (8/5): - Charming and cozy. Good choice for a low-maintenance solo traveler. Staff is friendly and helpful. The only issue I had was there was no water fountain or water source in the hotel other than purchased water bottle. Additionally, the only fridge is a communal one.

- George (8/5): - Great location and historical hotel. Had a nice, comfortable suite, but bathroom could clearly near upgrading (e.g., caulking around tub looks like it has mold, but it's just very old caulking that has turned black). Disappointed that hot tub was closed, as was the pool, but we still paid a resort fee (and we didn't use any other facilities). Very odd that restaurant had too options for paying, with extra fee for charge. I've seen this at small shops, but never at a hotel.

- Gillian (10/5): A great stay - Our room was really cute but the AC was not working. We went to the desk at 3am and we were moved to an adorable cottage. I really appreciate that our needs were met immediately and that we were able to get to sleep and enjoy the rest of our stay. I would definitely come back and I would definitely book a cottage instead of the main hotel. The hotel is great but the cottage was amazing.

- Douglas (10/5): - Loved the cleanliness of the property and friendliness of the staff. However, getting hit with a "restoration fee" upon sign in was a bit annoying since Expedia does not mention this in thier pricing. Beds were comfortable but the lack of a refrigerator in the room in this day and age is a negative. There was also an issue with our bathtub being spongy when standing , it felt unstable. Other than that, we had a very enjoyable stay. Food was excellent and the pool and hot tub area was very clean. I would stay here again.

We felt that they needed to update the living room furniture it was so aged that we had to put a blanket down before sitting for fear it would stain light colored clothing. The cushions were so worn that it made it uncomfortable to sit on long. Having to go up to the 2 and or 3 floor to get ice and no mini frig for a suite are all things that the owners can fix and replace to make the stay a 100% win.

When we arrived we were told that the room we booked was unavailable as it was being booked by phone by someone the same time our online booking came through. Disappointed we were not in the inn but was put in one of their cottages which was excellant. We were well pleased. Ate in their restaurant and the food was amazing.

- Nicole (8/5): - We liked the people. We enjoyed dinner 2 nights at the bar downstairs. The rooms were very spacious. I loved the artificially lit fireplace, but only one side worked. Our biggest complaint was the terrible mattress! It was too soft with significant dips. We had to put towels underneath the mattress cover to add back support , Sadly, because of this we will not return.

- Stephen (8/5): - The hotel is furnished in a classical style with warm wood tone. It'maintained reasonably well and clean. We were given a room that seems to have a leak from the ceiling. Front desk was very quick to assign us to a different room. The bathroom works ok for me but lacks table surface for makeup. The Tap room serves very delicious food and service was excellent. Overall we will return when visiting Shenandoah again
- Tasja (8/5): - I had stayed as a getaway from the city for my Birthday. It was the perfect place to be. The pool and hottub as well as the whirlpool within the hotel room were amazing. We loved the layout of the hotel. The gym is small but has a treadmill, elliptical and a few weights with a bench. The hotel is well-maintained and very clean. I can not speak of the attached restaurant since we had not tried it. The surrounding city is a cute little town in walkable distance.

- Roderick J (8/5): - Beautiful and charming hotel. Unfortunately, the electric outlets in our room were dead. Two wall outlets only had one of the two plugs working. And the plugs at the desk lamp were too loose to use. With phones, C-Pap, and other electronics, plugs are important to travelers. Hope they correct for the next guest.

- Ron (10/5): - The hotel was nice and clean. Bed was comfortable and soft. Probably the nicest hotel in Luray. The only problem we had was the air conditioner wasn’t working properly. The room thermostat was set to 68 and by morning the room temperature was up to 78. It got pretty stuffy in the room. Didn’t have the most comfortable sleep with it being that warm even though the bed was comfortable.

- Keith (10/5): Wonderful historic hotel - This was our second time staying at the Mimslyn. It is a beautiful hotel with lots of history. Setting is amazing at the top of the hill overlooking the town. The suites are large and comfortable and the wine selection available in the lobby is nice. Will stay here again.

- Diane (4/5): - As a historic hotel, it was only the outside appearance that felt historic. The rooms are small. The TV is barely large enough within the cabinet and the picture does not even fill the screen. When we asked that someone try to fix that issue, nothing changed. For the price, breakfast was not included. There are other hotel options in the area for far less, and include breakfast, and I would opt to use one of them in the future.

Speak Easy restaurant was good; only criticism was that given its name and decor, the piped-in techno-pop music killed the vibe. Also was a bit surprised/disappointed that the waitress didn’t know anything about the local wines (given that the hotel even private-labeled one), and the wine specials with dinner were all from Chile.

Accommodations were comfortable, onsite dining options for breakfast and lunch, and friendly staff. Loved spending time sitting on the front porch of the Inn after dinner each night. So quiet and peaceful. Will definitely be back in the future.

- Carla (8/5): - The Mimslyn Inn is absolutely gorgeous. It would be great if they upgraded the mattresses and pillows to be fluffy, comfortable, and up to par with regular hotels. It’s a gorgeous historic inn, just in need of better mattresses! The beds are so hard and the pillows crinkley and stiff.
- Ichiro (10/5): - GREAT STAFF and FOOD!!!!!!! Room was a bit outdated with minor issues like water would not recede and left some grime behind in the bathroom sink and water was leaking behind the knobs of the sink. Other than that, my partner and I loved the hotel and WILL RETURN AGAIN!!!!!
- Kenneth (10/5): Stay in history and live in the present - The staff is friendly and provides great recommendations, especially Fred. The hotel is from 1931, and it is like stepping back in time. It has modern bathrooms. The beautiful front porch and lobby living room is a social gathering spot. You meet nice people. Dinner at Speakeasy was awesome. Easy drive to Skyline Drive.
- Robert (10/5): - Property is well maintained, friendly and helpful staff. It’s a very historic property, but has modern amenities.
- Michael (10/5): Had a wonderful stay. - Beautiful hotel, and restaurant staff were excellent. The food was great. We ate at the restaurant both nights of our stay. The Mimslyn Inn has a great location for all of the attractions in town.

- Susan (10/5): - Beautiful location, atop the mountains where one can sit, relax with a cup of delicious complimentary coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. Speakeasy is fun although the menu can use a bit of updating to include healthier choices. Hotel is classic elegance, a miniature of the Viking Hotel in Newport (the way it used to be before they modernized it).
- Phillip (8/5): - Nice hotel, but I wasn't sold that the value was better than the chain hotels. We did not eat at the hotel. Great porch to sit on, although some flowers/plants could have been put into the flower pots instead of being 2/3 full with soil. Good location and easy to walk into downtown.
- Stephen (10/5): - It was so fun being at this beautiful historical hotel. Ahhh the staircase! I imagined myself in a beautiful gown walking down it.
- Andrew (10/5): Fun historic hotel - Our kids had fun staying in a historic hotel. We were just driving through and only stayed one night. We ate dinner at the on-site restaurant, which was decent.
- Steven (10/5): - The hotel is very charming. The room was very comfortable and quiet. We had dinner in the Speakeasy restaurant and the food was great. We will be returning next time we are in the area.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice weekend - Everything was fine. Nice plentiful thick, large towels. Room made up every day. Reasonable price for meals. Walking distance to downtown and greenway. Beds comfortable. TV in odd position but really who watches TV when on an out of town trip. Coffee/tea in central area. Historical indeed.
