- Job (10/5): It was a fantastic experience with friendly staff and beautiful views! - Staff were very friendly and facilities were clean and very aesthetically appealing, my girlfriend and I decided to stay here to scope out the hotel in hopes next time we visit it would be a good stay for our boxer, overall we are very pleased and will be visiting soon for her first beach trip! I wish the price would have been a bit better, we had a two night stay moving into a Monday and there were a lot of vacancy’s Sunday night to Monday so I hoped the prices would be a little bit cheaper for that night stay since it wasn’t a high demand for rooms, but overall the price was not bad for the location and amenities, also would be nice if there was a warm fire pit to sit by but I understand the possible complications with dogs around

One free Glass of wine is included in you stay and 20%off a coffee drink. Free coffee and yummy brownies in the afternoon. Our room was the big corner room with ocean view. Nice room and bath and my only complaint was the bed. Too bad, hence the four star rating. Slices of breakfast cake and apple, banana and orange juice served in a basket to your room in the morning. Nice people and very clean.

- Dick (9/5): Exceeded expectations. - Inside and out, everything seems to be recently updated. Clean and comfortable rooms. The bed was very good. Fireplace in room. They provide some extra services like free coffee (good coffee, too) all day. An excellent restaurant in town called Madeline's has a small outpost here which is great. Wine available early evening. Free breakfast basket (literally, a basket) delivered to your door.

- Quarton-Pryce (9/5): Great location & amenities. - We were extremely happy with the location of the hotel and our room. The room was very efficient given the space and the bed was quite comfy. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather so appreciated having happy hour out in the Adirondack chairs at sunset. The breakfast was a nice touch. We will definitely return when in the area.

I love how the whole community is so dog friendly. All the shops were welcoming. There was a lot of outdoor activities that we were all pretty tired by the night time. Glad we had such a comfy nice bed to stay in and we definetly took advantage of keeping cozy with our fireplace that was in our room. Definetly would come back again. We liked the room a lot it was very cozy, we liked how close it was to main street, we walked over there. We loved being by the beach and hearing the waves at night. The best part was seeing everyone with their dogs, and socilizing ours with theirs.

- Mirja (10/5): Puppy paradise on the beach - We’ve been coming here for over 10 years now. It’s one of the few hotels where you can truly unwind and feel at home. We love coming here with our pup and they were kind to leave our key under the matt as we arrived very late due to some LA traffic. Also love the new addition of the coffee bar where you can get drinks and snacks. Early morning beach walks are the best and we love the breakfast basket

The beach access & views were the best part - it was literally right outside the door & across the street - a 30 second walk. The second best was the breakfast delivered right to our door in a basket! So convenient! There were a few restaurants in walking distance & the rest were just a short 5 min drive into downtown Cambria. As a side note - the shower had great water pressure! Highly recommend this hotel!

It was nice to sit outside and watch the surfers and the sunset over the ocean. The afternoon treats and breakfast were enjoyable and it was nice to have on-site food and wine offerings each afternoon.

- carolem441 (10/5): Come for the location, stay for the cookies - We had been here before when we had dogs, but now that we're dogless we decided to visit again because of the happy memories. The location on Moonstone Beach Drive is perfect. there are plenty of chairs when you can sit and look at the ocean. Cross the street and you are on the boardwalk, a nice path to look at the beach down below. 5 minutes away you are in the cute town and in 10 minutes you are at the Hearst Castle Visitor Center. Up the road a little further, are where the elephant seals hangout, although not at this time of year. As others have written a basket is hung outside your door at 8:30am with oj, bananas, an apple, string cheese and sweet breads. Cookies are available at 3:00pm and brownies at 5. The rooms are serviceable, although not swanky, but everything worked.

Continental breakfast is delivered in the morning to your door including orange juice, bananas, apple, tasty breads. Cookies are available in the office at 3 pm and brownies at 5 pm. This is an older property and not swanky but everything worked.

We loved sitting in the late afternoon on the chairs proved on the front yard to see the waves across the street. Included with the room is a daily morning basket filled with breakfast goodies. That we had to leave after our reservation was complete.

Staff was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute! We had a wonderful light dinner and in the morning the breakfast basket was perfect to start our day. The leisurely walk down Moonstone Beach Boardwalk Trail was great and the views while walking were amazing. A staycation for one of us from Paso Robles and a vacation from Scottdale, AZ for the other. Couldn't ask for a better memory for two best friends for more than 40 years!

Also liked the fact that it had a kitchenette and small patio in the back. Location was 10/10, beach is across the street and the town is a mile away. Staff was very friendly and helpful, the place is clean and well-kept. It was a perfect weekend getaway to get some R&R. Can't think of anything that I didn't like.
- Mimi (10/5): - Exceeded My Expectations! I booked this last minute because my friends were staying at the property next door, which had sold out—so I ended up here, and I’m so glad I did! This property blew the other one out of the water. Every room had at least a partial ocean view (except maybe the back corner ones), and the grounds were spacious and well-kept with grassy areas and lounge chairs—perfect for relaxing with your pup. They even provided dog towels, bowls, and other thoughtful pet amenities. A microwave in the room made it super convenient for both me and my four-legged travel buddy. The staff were genuinely kind, sweet, and helpful. I loved the cozy coffee bar, wine bar, and especially the breakfast basket delivered to my door each morning—a delightful touch. Honestly, I was blown away by my stay. The photos online don’t do this place justice. Highly recommend!

The staff was friendly, and the whole experience felt relaxing and welcoming. The biggest highlight? It’s incredibly dog-friendly—a huge plus for pet lovers looking to travel with their furry companions. 🐶 Our room was spotlessly clean and had a cozy coastal vibe that made it easy to unwind. While the mattress showed signs of wear and could use an upgrade, the bedding was soft and inviting—we still slept great and woke up refreshed. A special basket was left at our door in the morning for breakfast with pastries, fruit and juice. What a wonderful treat. Overall, it was a lovely stay with a laid-back charm that left us looking forward to our next visit.
- O9524BGjohnp (8/5): Great stay at Cambria Shores Inn - Stayed for three nights in a double queen room. Location is amazing with great views of Moonstone beach from the patio and grounds. parking is easy. Rooms are typical of a seaside motor court but clean and fairly well appointed!! They offer a glass of good wine at check in and daily breakfast basket which is apple/ banana, some local sweet bread, string cheese and OJ. They have a great wine bar in the afternoon and you can order from a short but really nice menu and eat on the patio or inside. They provide coffee in the morning and afternoon and now have a coffee bar if you want a latte. They are dog friendly but not all the dogs are friendly. Great location and easy access to the beach/ boardwalk, Cambria and north to Big Sur. Route 1 is closed at Lucia traveling north but lots open on the way—it is minutes to Cambria shopping and 15 minutes to the Hearst castle .

Staff appears to lack basic hospitality training-doesn’t acknowledge guests and makes them just stand and wait for extended periods of time when checking in and while they talk amongst each other at their F&B areas.

- Philip (9/5): Last Minute Luxury - Staff were very attentive, free wine tasting on arrival, comfy beds and spotless rooms. Continental breakfast delivered to the door. Excellent location directly across from beach access on Moonstruck Bay. A higher rate for a double queen room than normal, probably due to booking only 20 hours before arrival:-~

- P1191AVml (10/5): Lovely stay - Great beachside hotel. Clean, cozy and quiet. The staff were very friendly and professional. This was a great place to stay. You wake up to a basket of breakfast hung outside your door each morning and fresh baked cookies or brownies each day.

The only recommendation we have is to include fire pits in the outdoor seating area. We noticed that other hotels near by had these and would make for a relaxing evening enjoyment. Not a deal breaker, just a recommendation.
