Guest Reviews
- William (8/5): - The Host was most accomodating!
- Rod (8/5): The Coach House Inn is a clean, well-run place to stay. - While the inn itself is clearly old, the family that runs it has turned it into a real bargain: scrupulously clean and well cared-for. When I got there, the owner himself was helping a crew reline the parking lot and immediately turned to checking me in and taking me to my room. While there were clear signs of repairs, everything worked as expected, and was quite comfortable. Everything "negative" is purely due to the building's age. There were fewer outlets than you'd expect for modern travelers, and the what outlets there were had worn out clips: my cords, especially wall warts, would fall right out. Also, while the bathroom is clean, the shower tile is stained and "looks" dirty, even though it's not. Finally, the bed was pretty firm compared to most hotels. Mind you, these are nits, and I'd be happy to stay here again.

- Damien (1/5): Soon as I got to the property the guy told me to cancel my room at 10 o’clock at night I think it was a race problem - Buddy was rude and very disrespectful towards his renters would never waste my time or money again Everything

- Mary (1/5): Cannot recommend this hotel in present condition. - Location was convenient. Plenty of free parking. No breakfast. Staff friendly No towel racks. No toilet paper holder. Floor seemed warped. Beds on noisy metal stands. TV complicated to operate. Chair soiled. Paint peeling off walls. Full stay charged on check-in and Rule #4 posted stated no refund after 10 minutes of checkin!
- Lou (1/5): - I stayed here many, many years ago and it was fine. The unfortunate thing is that nothing has changed. It's still the same hotel except it's quite old. Quite dirty. I think the bedding and the furniture has been here since the '70s. And never been cleaned. This hotel is so old they need to tear it down and rebuild.
There was water bugs in the middle of the floor. All the walls were brownish. Dirty. Chairs were nasty. Look like they've never been cleaned before. Same goes for the bathroom and all the surfaces. It's very unfortunate because it used to be a nice hotel. But this one needs to be torn down and rebuilt. I'm sorry to say. I did not stay at this hotel this weekend. I declined four different rooms. And I told her I could not stay in this place.
- Privette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Reginald (7/5): You get what you pay for - Location to historic Edenton The condition of the bathroom

- Blackpixels (7/5): One night in edenton - The owner. He was very nice and helpful. Very likeable and easy to talk to. The rooms are kinda dated and in need of a remodel. The furniture needs to be replaced and the beds aren't the greatest. I don't think I'd stay for more than one night. Best value for the town it is in as you only have two other options as far as hotels. Overall the room was clean but since the property is older it has old building smell
- Tom (5/5): Passable - Location. Finish coming off in bath tub. Cold spigot in bathroom broken. No secondary lock on the door. Floor trim coming loose in some places.
- Nash (8/5): Very good -
- Nash (7/5): Good -
- Wilfred (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Very good - new cable upgrade need more places to hang clothes
- Patricia (8/5): A place with a caring manager - Cleanlinesss and the manager that was concerned about issues The tv wasn’t working and no ice
Manage willingly took care of
- David (7/5): Good -
- Mrda (4/5): Disappointing -
- Samantha (7/5): It was overall good - Met my expectations had to pay 20 extra for my dog wasn’t stayed online on site but whatever it was fine beds super uncomfortable other than that was fine The beds and tvs should be updated with like Netflix and Hulu and guest can sign into their own account
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Louise (3/5): Very poor quality hotel, would not recommend. - The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The room was shabby and smelt very musty. the bathroom had mould behind the door, and the finish on the tub was peeling off. There was also mould above the entry door. My husband's asthma flared up due to the mould.
- Ruthann (7/5): Good -
- Jeffery (8/5): Very good -
- Mary (4/5): It was affordable. - Location was good and the price fit our budget. The bathroom needed a makeover. The tub was unsightly and we did not shower during our stay. The faucet fixture on the sink was unstable and the sink could not hold water. Bath linens were cheap.
- Privette (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (5/5): Ok -
- Karen (1/5): Bad - The owner is very nice. The HUGE rowch
- Ted (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (1/5): I didn’t because it was to bad - Absolutely nothing it was so bad I didn’t stay I really want my money back Nasty run down bad location
- Carol (3/5): What do you want for 75 fillers!!! - The location to the wharf and center of town was good Everything. The room was deficient in towels, bars for hanging clothes and towels in the bathroom. No ice machine. No small coffee maker. The rooms next to us were rented out to workers who partied outside and inside up to 2 in the morning.
- Elizabeth (5/5): Not much to recommend this place except for low price. Tolerable. - Location. Room was clean No room WiFi. Bed mattress rested on iron base. Very uncomfortable. Inexpensive (cheap polyester) bedspread and pillows.
- Beatrice (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gale (5/5): Passable -
- Owen (1/5): STAY AWAY!! - Nothing, absolutely a dump. Broken AC, TV, beds were terrible.
- omak6653 (4/5): "Bare bones" - No ice machine, no tissues, no vending machines. What they do have are bugs, bed platforms made of sheet metal (YES), which sound like rolling thunder when you move, and can be heard from adjoining room. Rooms are conveniently located within a short distance from the road so that every vehicle that comes by can be heard.
- Laura (6/5): Dated, needs refreshing and deep clean. - Friendly husband/ owner. (Wife ignored me, talked to husband while he was talking to me.) Good location. I liked the lvp flooring vs. carpet. Old dingy paint. No deadbolt or chain on door, for security, just the flimsy, hand turned toggle on doorknob. Dirty kids handprints and footprints on bathroom wall, no attempt to wash it. Sheets had black dirty spots that scratched off.. eww. I went to Dollar General and bought $8 pillow, $16 sheet set and $12 blanket, to remake bed. For that price, I could have stayed in best bnb on the waterfront. Wifi didn't work, tv had static. This place needs much work and a refresh. Kudos for a kind, attentive front desk guy though.
- Nash (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wanda (5/5): Passable - No breakfast needed to be painted, bathroom was awlful Everything
- Darvin (9/5): Superb -
- Rashon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sue (5/5): Fine for a stop over while traveling. - The place was clean, room was large. Totally no frills but we didn't expect any. Good enough for the purpose. One night only kind of place. Price was right. Found a bug in one of the drawers when looking for the TV remote. Told the owner and he was responsive to taking care of it. Said the rooms had been treated.
- Glenn (8/5): Very good -
- Thomas (10/5): Absolutely fantastic - The owner was nice and friendly. We had a blast staying there. It was safe feeling as well. All, the price all the staff very friendly. Would, and have recommend to others.
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Portia (8/5): Very good -
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (7/5): Good - No breakfast Locks on the doors. Door has a big crack half way up from the bottom
- Shane (7/5): Good place to stay. - The room was outdated, but clean. Very friendly staff and knowledgeable of the area. It could use some updating, but still good.
- Michael (6/5): Pleasant - What we expected for the price. Decent clean good for a short money saving stay.
- Judy (4/5): Underwhelmed by this location. The desk personnel were very nice, but the room had a lot to be desired. - Convent to downtown The interior seemed unfinished (no towel racks or toilet paper holder, no closet to hang clothes, there was no chain on door or other interior lock for safety. The noise level was very high from other rooms. It didn’t feel especially clean.
- Jessica (10/5): Quaint and classy - it felt like we stepped back in time but with modern ammenities - The food was top knotch.
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very nice, small motel. Would visit again if we are in the area. - Convenient location to our destination. Hotel staff that checked us in was very friendly and even told some town history. Room was clean, I liked that it was not carpeted. Only issues was the TV did not work and I found an inscent stick in the bed.
- Joanie (10/5): For the price we paid I was pleasantly surprised. We had to find a place in the area that accommodated dogs and I’m very - The family that runs this property was very accommodating and pleasant. The location at first seemed very sketchy but I did not have any unpleasant experiences. Everyone we’ve encountered was nice.
The rooms are outdated but kept clean.
- Jennifer (9/5): Comfortable - Staff very Friendly.
Hotel room is clean and got what you need.
- Jennifer (7/5): Good -
- Bryon (4/5): Not Quite What I Expected - Honestly I liked the owner of the hotel. And the location was great also. Well, like I said, I liked the manager. But the room looked like it had been converted from someone's garage. Very poor work. And the bed, it was cheap. And very uncomfortable. And lastly, there were some creepy crawly things found in the bathroom during the night. Add that all up, and I didn't sleep very well and couldn't wait for the sun to come up. I did address the issues as I checked out. But at this point, I would not be able to give this establishment my recommendation. And I feel bad about it. But it was my experience and I feel it could have and should have been a more pleasant experience.
- Sally (1/5): Did not stay. Felt unsafe - Nothing It was run down, dirty, flimsy outside doors, felt and looked unsafe. I did not stay.
- Joanie (10/5): To sum it up, we took a chance on a motel and are happy with our choice. - Edenton is a beautiful town. The area is very different from what we are used to from up North. We don’t normally stay at Motels with children but had a hard time finding a place to accommodate 2 large dogs. We were happy to find a place with good reviews from other travelers with dogs. The family that runs the place were pleasant and very helpful. The room was outdated but clean and for the price that we paid we were pleasantly surprised! I appreciate the fact our room had vinyl plank flooring and not carpet. The property was what was expected of a motel and was kept neat. We had a grass area in front and to the sides for the dogs. There wasn’t anything about the property that made our stay uncomfortable but maybe other guests.. there was pot smoking outside but when walking by the people were nice. Just not something we wanted around the kids but not something we haven’t experienced before at other places we’ve stayed. it’s not a resort.
- Katherine (3/5): Adequate for a one night stay, but would not return for a future stay. - The property is worn out. The bathroom tub needs to be reglazed. The chair needs to be reupholstered. The bathroom sink area needs paint. Overall this property this needs a lot of work.
- Lori (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kyle (10/5): It was extremely peaceful and pleasant - The staf was extremely friendly and welcoming. They are extremely understanding and patient and greet you with a smile. I have no complaints with my stay.
- Kyle (10/5): Very nice and pleasant. - The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. They were extremely understanding and accommodating. It was overall one of the best stays I've had at a hotel. I have no complaints.
- Mccorkle (10/5): I Love The Space & Comfort Of The Room. - The Room Was Nice & Spacious No Problem At All
- Mccorkle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rits_travel (5/5): You get what you pay for. - Extreme value for money! Amenities and cleanliness could have been a bit better.
- Kala (5/5): Passable - Nothing Staff doesn’t know how to talk to people
- Stacks (5/5): Passable -
- Ms. (7/5): I just needed a clean place to sleep one night that didn't cost over $100, and this place was it. - I liked the location. I was in Edenton for a United Women in Faith Spiritual Enrichment Event, and Coach Inn was just a two minute drive away from the church. I live a 3 hours drive away, so was looking for a place to sleep, and I needed a little refrigerator, and a microwave, and a tv: all three were there and working. I needed a table, and there was a table next to the refrigerator. I wasn't there for touring or sightseeing, although apparently there is much to see and do in the area. I liked how spacious the room was. And it was in a quiet neighborhood... at least it was quiet during my stay. There were fast food restaurants nearby, so I was able to grab a breakfast before I went to the scheduled event. The price was great at $69 for two queen beds. The room was clean, the linens were clean, everything looked clean. That's what I wanted. The lighting in the bathroom and the vanity/sink area was yellow ... but for me that was not a big problem. WiFi was available, but I was unable to connect with it while I was there. I tried several times. I called the manager and he told me it was available, I had the code, but still could not connect. I was there only a short stay, so it wasn't a problem for me. TV reception was poor. Not many channels, but I didn't have to watch it. I had books to read with me. The room looked old, and it looked like some repairs had been made, but I was there for only one night, and it was clean. I was satisfied with that.
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aaron (10/5): Very reasonably priced not super fancy but good enough - Ease of check in and check out It was fine there's nothing to complain about for the price it was exactly what I would expect
- Sheila (1/5): never again - nothing No lock on the door, no hair dryer, broken faucet on the sink, peeling bathtub, general disrepair. TV picture fuzzy, half the channels had no volume. cockroach in the drawer of the bedside table. just an awful place.

- Lowell (9/5): Superb -
- Clyde (9/5): Superb -
- Lacy (1/5): Not wheelchair accessible - Not at all wheelchair accessible or welcoming to someone in a wheelchair. I was refused check-in for "my safety and the safety of the property." They said they would decline my card and I should try Hampton inn. While Hampton inn was 3x the cost the room and staff were amazing. Annoying because I could have made due with the coach house inn. But I understand.. they did their best to be polite and helpful but just a messed up feeling being told I am not allowed here because I'm in a wheelchair even though I've already booked and given my credit card. Probably not a bad place to stay if your legs work.

- Janina (5/5): The price of this accommodation is the selling point. - The location and the staff were nice. The motel style is cute. The price was good. The room was dirty, the bathroom was in an old, bad condition, the mattress was absolutely uncomfortable, causing headaches, back, neck pain.
