Man fühlt sich fast wie in einem Schloss. Die Zimmer könnten von der Ausstattung zeitgemäß gestaltet werden sind aber OKAY. Parken in der Nähe auf Hotelparkplatz war gut möglich. Sehr gutes Frühstück in einem sensationellen Saal. Die Zimmer sind nicht auf aktuellen Stand.

• Eric Kurpershoek (10/5): Prachtig sfeervol hotel op ideale locatie - De prachtige historische sfeer van het hotel, de hoge plafonds, de klassieke inrichting, het heerlijke ontbijt in de sfeervolle onbijtzaal en de rust. Eigenlijk niets. Sommige mensen zullen de badkamer beetje ouderwets vinden, maar alles werkt. Voor mij was het juist een verademing.

Très bien placé au centre de la vieille ville. La salle de bains se dégrade: joints des carrelages par exemple. L'isdolation des fenêtres n'est pas suffisante: beaucoup de bruit le matin.

Perfect position a few steps from the historical center. Old charming atmosphere. Huge room with fridge. Quite environment, despite poor isolation. Room pictures not corresponding to my room, number 3 with view on a lateral building façade and pretty dark. I didn’t spend much time in the room, so it was fine, but It should be mentioned that there is no open view.

• Christian (8/5): Wohnen im Museum - Altes Stadthaus direkt im Zentrum. Man wohnt wie in einem Museum. Großes Zimmer mit viel Platz. Kein Parkplatz. Parken vor dem Hotel ist nur für Anwohner erlaubt. 300 Meter zum nächsten Parkhaus.
• Corina (8/5): Städtereise - Das ist ein schönes kleines Hotel in einem historischen Gebäude, welches als Teil des Genter Lichtplans abends hübsch angestrahlt wird. Bis zur Altstadt ist es nicht weit, wir konnten alle wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten fußläufig erreichen. Es gibt ein kleines, aber feines Frühstück, das Personal ist ebenfalls sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Am besten hat uns die musikalische Ausstattung mit Orgel, Klavier und Flügel gefallen, sodass wir an einem Morgen gemeinsam mit dem Hotelmitarbeiter sogar noch ein kleines Konzert geben konnten, das war toll! Ein paar Meter weiter gibt es hoteleigene Parkplätze in einem kleinen Parkhaus, auch das war sehr wichtig für uns. Wir können das Hotel auf jeden Fall empfehlen! Da unser Sohn uns aus terminlichen Gründen nicht begleiten konnte, hatten wir im Vorfeld sein Einzelzimmer storniert. Bei unserer Ankunft hatte man jedoch bedauerlicherweise versehentlich unser Doppelzimmer storniert, sodass wir für die erste Nacht quasi in der Dachkammer unterkommen mussten. Wir durften zwar am nächsten Tag in ein größeres Doppelzimmer umziehen, aber das Schleppen des Gepäcks die vielen Treppen hinauf und wieder herunter war schon anstrengend.

Ontbijt was prima, niet te uitgebreid. Wel zeer goed geregeld, zo min mogelijk verspilling van voedsel. Er wordt aan je gevraagd of je een ei wilt (Gekookt, gebakken of roerei), je krijgt dat dan aangeboden, maar staat niet klaar. De kamers waren best stoffig en de doucheslang hing in het bad, kon niet worden opgehangen Geen douchemogelijkheden.

Won't hesitate to book again when I come visit next time. - The location is perfect - it's only a couple of minutes walk to the main attractions, the staff are lovely and also, the breakfast was great. The bed was a bit creaky and the television streaming kept lagging.

• V3851HQelainer (4/5): Disappointing accommodation! - While appreciating that we were staying in a l6th century building we were disappointed in arrival to be allocated a room which was very basic and in need of some updating! The overall accommodation in the hotel feels very "authentic" however if you are expecting a hotel to have modern comforts this is not the one I would recommend! Our room (room 7) could benefit from a refresh ! We had a view of the fire escape from our only which had definitely seen better days! (see photo attached) and beyond that was a very neglected garden! Such a shame as I can imagine this was once beautiful! The electric sockets in room 7 could in my opinion do with some attention to ensure they are safe! The bedside cupboards which contained a very antiquated radio alarm and a water damaged bible and an old rubber bath mat need clearing out! Happily all of this did not spoil our trip to beautiful Ghent however we sadly would not return to this hotel!

• Bärbel (8/5): Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt mit Charme - Es gab einen überaus freundlichen Empfang, ebenso die Bedienung beim Frühstück war sehr nett, es gab eine frisch zubereitete Eierspeise nach Wahl und viel Auswahl. Das Haus mit seinen alten Möbeln hat viel Charme, man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Die Lage ist optimal, das Zentrum von Gent ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Es gab eine nahe gelegene Parkmöglichkeit für 15,- € / Nacht. Im Badezimmer blätterte die Fliesenlackierung etwas ab, dunkle Stellen kamen zum Vorschein.

Un peu déçu des horaires du petit-déjeuner (8h - 10h), devant partir plus tôt, je n'ai pas pu en profiter. Néanmoins, il est très bien placé au niveau du Centre et c'est très appréciable. La qualité du matelas, qui a déjà bien vécu semble-t-il, mais reste correct.

• A.G. (8/5): Fijn hotel in een prachtig pand. - Het hotel is perfect als je een idyllische en nostalgische plek zoekt waar de geschiedenis alom is. Een prachtig historisch gebouw op een goede plek ten opzichte van het centrum. De bedden waren heerlijk net als het ontbijt. Het sanitair was schoon maar verouderd.

Parkeren kan in de buurt en is prima betaalbaar, wij stonden in P Ramen. Wij sliepen op de bovenste verdieping in een mooie kamer met hoog plafond en mooie balken alleen is het wel een aardige klim via de mooie houten trap. Prima te doen maar niet als je slecht ter been bent. De douchekop zat helaas niet vast, dat is wel een verbeterpuntje.

De koffie bij het ontbijt was ondrinkbaar. Erg zonde. Een prachtig pand maar erg verwaarloost.

Парковка в центре дорогая, но можно оставить машину на окраине, например, у Ехро, (P +R) и доехать до центра на трамвае 1. Потом пешком до отеля 10 минут. Helpful staff The top floor felt a long way from reception and need to walk through a few flights of stairs corridors to get there. Everything looked safe and fire alarms in place and exits clearly labelled. Personally I didn't feel comfortable being away in the loft and didn't feel safe. The furniture was old and tired the bathroom was old fashioned - shower head screwed to painted wall and tiles painted over ! - it felt like their really struggling to keep on top of the maintenance (I think the rest of the reviews summarise it accurately) Probably depends on what you paid as to what you're prepared to overlook !

Das Gebäude ist historisch und hat eine ensprechende Ausstrahlung (die ich positiv empfand). Ich habe nur eine Nacht im Februar '26 dort verbracht und lediglich einen weiteren Gast getroffen, so dass die Ruhe im Gebäude nicht typisch sein muss. Mein Zimmer (Nr. 7) war sehr schlicht, aber für eine Übernachtung ausreichend, Ich habe jedenfalls hervorragend geschlafen, was für mich ungewöhnlich ist. Das Frühstück (in einem sehr gediegenen Saal) entsprach meinen Erfahrungen nach dem durchschnittlichen Hotel-Niveau. Für einen Aufenthalt von mehr als einer Nacht wäre mir das Zimmer (Nr. 7) doch etwas zu schlicht. Möglicherweise sind andere Zimmer des Hauses schöner und komfortabler. Gemessen an der Fassade und dem Frühstückssaal kann man mehr von diesem Gebäude erwarten.

• Şeyma aydan (6/5): muhteşem konum - kahvaltı yeterliydi. konumu ise muhteşemdi. oda müsait olduğu için girişimizi erken yapabildik. nevresimler temizdi ancak pencere pervazları ve banyo biraz tozluydu. yataklar da çok ses çıkarıyordu. asansör yok uyarısı rezervasyon sırasında belirtilmişti ancak bu kadar dik merdiven olacağını da düşünmemiştik. bavullarımızı çıkarırken çok zorlandık. personel güler yüzlü ve oldukça yardımseverdi.

• Alain (10/5): Our stay in Ghent with the history, recommended restaurants & Christmas markets were super. - The hotel is beautiful with such history and so graciously kept with a superb reception experience and of course the breakfast & service was of a very high standard. We were warned about the stairs so pack light - great upfront notice.
• Desiree (9/5): Toplocatie en fijn hotel! - De locatie was echt superfijn, midden in het mooie centrum van Gent. Het ontbijt was goed verzorgd en we voelden ons heel prettig in dit hotel! Een mooie kasteelachtige uitstraling en heel rustig en stil in de nacht. Er was niet echt iets wat ons tegenviel. We waren er maar één nacht en alles liep eigenlijk perfect voor ons!

• evelyne (8/5): - Grande chambre propre confortable et bien équipée Comme je devais partir à 8hr30 am je me suis présenté pour le petit-déjeuner à 8hr00 ( heure mentionnée du début du service) . Très peu items du buffet étaient prêts pour le service. J’aurais souhaité plus de ponctualité .

• Aktas (4/5): - le déjeuner :) Le réceptionniste était très sympathique et serviable, je lui donne 10 sur 10. Cependant, la connexion Wi-Fi ne fonctionnait pas dans la chambre. Il y avait une télévision, mais aucune chaîne ne fonctionnait. Bien qu’il soit interdit de fumer, la chambre sentait fortement la cigarette, ce qui était désagréable. De plus, la fenêtre de la chambre ne fermait pas correctement et est restée ouverte toute la nuit. Comme je l’ai dit, le réceptionniste était excellent, mais le reste était plutôt moyen.
