- Guibert (10/5): - L'accueil est courtois, respectueux et agréable. L'immeuble est remarquable par son architecture et s'intègre très bien dans l'espace vert tout autour. L'intérieur du gîte est spacieux, en excellent état de conservation et décoré avec goût. Les sanitaires de notre chambre étaient bien aménagés, en parfait état et tout à fait modernes. Le petit déjeuner de chaque journée démontrait une grande créativité, satisfaisait nos papilles, nous offrait une quantité suffisante pour commencer notre journée et s'accompagnait d'un service attentif, empreint d'humanité. Mille mercis! Rien à mentionner sous ce chapitre.

La maison a son cachet antique et toutes les pièces sont décorées avec goût. L'emplacement du B&B est facile à trouver et près de tout. Pour le petit déjeuner, excellent service et délicieux. Même mon amie avec des restrictions alimentaires a été ravie. Un B&B à garder en notre pour un prochain séjour à Sherbrooke.

It is a very short walk to all major museums, many restaurants were a short drive away, some within walking distance. The breakfast was beautifully presented in a grand dining room but I did not care for some of the food. My husband enjoyed it, however. The house is beautifully restored, and feels like being in a museum. It is very formal which does not give a welcoming vibe. The hosts are lovely but as non french speaking visitors communication was a little more difficult.

Auch dabei entwickelten sich viele interessante Diskussionen - Eine riesige Auswahl exquisiter Teesorten, die nach Wunsch frisch zubereitet wurden - Edles Tafelgeschirr zum Frühstück - Wunderschön gestaltete Aufenthaltsräume. Besonders angetan hatte es uns hier ein außergewöhnlich attraktives Schachspiel mit bunt verzierten Figuren - wir haben jeden Abend gespielt - Schönes Zimmer mit 2 antiken Queensize Betten und Terrasse - Ruhige Lage - Absolute Sauberkeit - Kostenloser Parkplatz auf dem Grundstück - Man wird vor der Anreise tagelang mit Emails bombardiert, die man beantworten soll. Das ist auf einem Roadtrip schon mal schwierig - Es wäre sicherlich geschickter, die Gäste vorher nach ihren Vorlieben beim Frühstück zu fragen, bevor sich die Gastgeberin unheimlich viel Mühe gibt - und die Arbeit dann umsonst war. Geschmäcker sind nun einmal verschieden. Aber die Gäste mit bösen Blicken abzustrafen, nur weil ihnen etwas nicht schmeckt, geht nun wirklich nicht. Das passt auch so gar nicht zu dem sonst zu stilvollem Haus.

The breakfast was fantastic- fresh, unique, generous, and beautifully served. The house feels healthy and serene. We plan on staying here every time we return to Sherbrooke to visit or pickup our child at Bishop's University. Only 15 minutes away.

Food served with a side of disdain. Insisted breakfast on departure day was 9:15am and no later. Insisted on cleaning our room even though we declined the service. Was made to feel very uncomfortable. There was a plethora of religious articles and paintings in every room. A door to the exterior patio located in our room was not indicated for our use Location was great however.. Would not recommend this place to anyone I like.

Wear comfortable shoes as there are hi - Beautiful heritage home with lovely furnishings and art throughout. Very clean (this is helped by the fact that you must remove your shoes upon entering). Breakfast was nicely presented and sufficient to keep you going until lunch. They have created 3.different dining rooms and so we were alone in ours. The bathroom was spotless. Our room had access to a terrace which was nice. The window furnishings, though attractive, let in too much light. Bring an eye mask if you are sensitive to that.

We enjoyed playing the piano in the large living room and breakfast was served in a stunning dining room. Breakfast was simply extraordinary - a real treat thank you. Hosts were attentive to all our needs.

The property is under construction outside so parking and transporting luggage are difficult. The hosts are kind but expect you to take off your shoes in the entrance and use their slippers. It worked for us but maybe not everyone is as flexible. If you had disabilities impacting your mobility, you may not be able to get to the property.
- Emory (8/5): Beautiful B&B - The building was beautiful and the rooms were cozy. Great location and the couple owning it were plenty nice. Breakfast, while very tasty, was a little smaller than expected. I would still absolutely recommend the property, just note it for friends so they knew to enjoy everything offered and/or could plan for an early lunch.

- Louise (9/5): A quaint and convenient B&B. - I'lle de Garde is a quaint B&B run by a lovely couple. We were upgraded for free to the King suite which was roomy and with a lovely bathroom. The breakfast was delicious. Walkling distance to restaurants and downtown.

- Matthew (9/5): If you want to experience elegance in a beatiful house in Sherbrooke this is the place to stay. - Beautiful house in nice location with good views from window. Room was nicely laid out, well furnished and decorated. The breakfast was fantastic with examples of excellent local produce and served in a style that made the family style meal a real experience and highly recommended, for that alone! Minor traffic noise but nothing too disruptive. Not a criticism really, but there were too many choices for tea at breakfast. I selected one that was great but now wonder if I should have taken one of the others. I think I will need to go back and find out.
- Jeanie (10/5): Feel Rested, Welcomed and Well-Attended staying at Ile de Garde! - The hosts are the most lovely people I have met when staying at a Bed & Breakfast. My sister has food allergies which were immediately accommodated. Parking is easy, the room and common areas are well-appointed and comfortable. They were eager to provide recommendations for sightseeing and dining. The breakfasts were beautiful, filling and very tasty. It is apparent in every aspect that they love their B&B and enjoy being hosts to visitors. Their English was excellent so there were no difficulties in communicating. I would return to this B&B. I did not like that we had to leave to continue our vacation in Quebec City. ;)
