Guest Reviews
- Augusta (8/5): - The area was safe and the bed was very comfortable!
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Steve at the front desk was pleasant and helpful.
- Frederick (10/5): - Nice clean comfortable room within easy reach of many interesting places.
- Robert S (8/5): - As described by many others, this motel has renovated rooms. So for $65/night, off-season on Cape Cod (I visited in late September) it's the price that makes this motel so attractive. It's still a motel - let's be honest - but the floors, bathroom, sink, showers are all quite new. My only complaint, and it matters if you are sensitive to sleep, is in regards to the cheap sheets and bed cover. They are 100% poly, which makes it not so great if you're accustomed to cotton sheets. The location is awesome if you want to explore, in my opinion, the most interesting and less developed region of the Cape. Wellfleet barrier islands, Provincetown bike path (way more interesting than the flat railroad track path that runs through much of the Cape), Audubon nature preserve in Wellfleet, Marconi Beach, etc.
- olivia (4/5): - Clean room but ghetto
- Peter (8/5): - Room was recently remodeled but they didn’t change out the old worn bedspreads. Overall clean room.
- Keith (10/5): - The room was clean and newly renovated. I really enjoyed my stay. Perhaps they can put up some hooks by the bathtub area to hang a towel.
- Sharon (10/5): Great Value for the Money- Fab Staff - Great value for the Money, renovation relatively recent, love the simplistic practical design. Beds comfortable, shower hot, friendly staff !
We will be back!
- Roger (10/5): - Great for one night or two nights day! Not far from Provincetown and for a motel, it was very clean
- Norman (10/5): - Our rooms were emaculate. The staff was efficient and friendly. The room location was very quiet. I would stay there anytime I was in the area.
- JANITA (10/5): - Modest, but very nice.
- Kathleen (8/5): - The beach is very convenient… this is an ok renovated motel!! the tub was peeling etc… was clean though!!
- Fiona (10/5): - Definitely would stay again. Newly refurbished rooms with great WiFi.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Very clean. Access to bike trail. Close to favorite beaches, sunrise and sunsets, food options, hiking.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Great Stay at the Viking Shores - quality / price was perfect :-)
- Alanna (8/5): - Great staff, clean rooms, great parking and location. Comfy beds and pillows. TV didnt work but it wasnt a big issue for us. Free jucie and coffee in the main office building. Didnt use the pool but it looked great and clean.
- Matthew (6/5): - Fine check in, good size clean room, good value, but general appearance of property shabby. You get what you pay for.
- Brian (10/5): - Clean price location
- BRENDA (2/5): - Beds were horrible
- Kimberly (8/5): - It was a decent place to stay. We were comfortable for the 2 nights we were there.
- Saul (10/5): - Room was renovated with wood floors, new furniture, small fridge, & microwave. Very clean & quiet, right off of Rte 6. Easy to get in & out, as well as check-in/check-out. Price was super cheap for the area & season, so I was very surprised of how nice it was. Would definitely stay again and recommend.
- Carol (2/5): - Very disappointed room was not cleaned. They claimed we had Do Not Disturb sign on door which we DID NOT! The room next to us had it on all day!
When I asked for some kind of compensation they said I would have to ask Expedia!
Would not go back!
- TONI (10/5): - Problem during check in was immediately resolved.
- Brenda (10/5): - Perfect motel for our long weekend last week. Very quiet and comfortable room. Simple and included all the basics. Room recently was refreshed and super clean. We used it primarily for sleeping. Each day we went out exploring for the entire day. A very convenient location for the eastern part of the Cape. Location of motel is on a bike trail, too. Walkable to mini golf and ice cream
- Erica (10/5): - Had a wonderful few days here and enjoyed the quick access to dining, shopping, comfortable beds, and the bike trail right outside our door. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Very pleased.
- Edward (8/5): - It was well located for our needs.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - My friend and I have been coming to the Cape for many years in the middle of August. We discovered The Viking while looking for a motel that offered a continental breakfast, and an outdoor pool.
The Viking offered both. We loved it and highly recommended it to other friends.
We just returned from our stay at The Viking and were disappointed that they no longer offered it. Apparently they’re under new owners and took that part away. 😟
- Frank (8/5): - Friendly property manager that responded to requests, maid service could use some improvement.
- Matt (8/5): - No complaints. Recently renovated. Clean. Good a/c. It’s a motel not the ritz but you get what you pay for here.
- Susan (8/5): - Clean motel with comfortable beds. Rooms could use a little decorating to make it feel a little less sterile. Would also suggest a coffee pot in the rooms. They have a coffee and juice room by the office, but it's a bit inconvenient.
- James (10/5): Summer Getaway - Viking Inn was clean, nice and secure. Rooms appeared to be recently updated send modern. Would recommend and stay again!
- Linda (10/5): - Best part is having a stop light when you come out of the driveway which makes it easy to get on 6A in either direction!
- Michelle (8/5): - This was a great place to stay. The access to the bike path is right on the property and there is mini golf and ice cream right next door.
- Martha (10/5): Clean room! - Room was very clean. Looks like new fridge/micro.
Clean basic room.
The pool was clean.
Yes pool was warn but clean and refreshing.
Picky people may say the towels weren’t plush. But they were clean. Tub was worn but once again very clean
In pre book I asked for an extra pillow and got ice.
Outdoor ice machine worked for us
Free coffee/juice in the am
I’d stay again.
- James (8/5): - Only had a bicycle to get around and not much close by.
- Ron (6/5): - I realize the affordable price reflects the amount of amenities or not, but the area immediately outside of our room door was unacceptably covered with litter- used tooth flossing picks, q-tips, paper, screws etc. It was still not fully cleared after asking it to be cleaned up. Otherwise the room was clean.
- Linda (4/5): - Might be nice to have a lamp next to a bed, maybe I want to read my book?
Otherwise you have to deal with extremely over head Bright lights.
Employers walk in room without asking ( there’s no doorknob tag that ask ‘Don’t Not Disturb’).
Freezer doesn’t work .
No complimentary items such as coffee in the room. I had to walk in the pouring rain to the front desk for coffee.
Will not be staying here again especially at the rates they charge. Not worth the discomfort.
- Erin (8/5): Great option - Renovations have made a difference! Will definitely stay again for short trips down Cape.
- Rosen (10/5): - Great place
- Nancy (10/5): - The bed was so comfy. Nice pillows too, very comfy and nice staff.
- Kelly (10/5): - Fun relaxing and clean motel. Conveniently located to lots of attractions
- Yolanda (10/5): - Super clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff were lovely. Located right on the bike trail! Would definitely stay again!
- debra (6/5): - Not represented accurately in the photos
- Randy (10/5): - Noisy
- Colleen (10/5): - This was exactly the place we needed for the couple days visiting friends in Eastham. The whole place seemed recently updated and my two boys loved the pool. I appreciate the little conveniences like being able to refill our water bottles at the water station in the main office and the friendly recs from staff.
- Nancy (8/5): - Signage to the property could be better. In the busy season on rt. 6, it's difficult to see the sign before you've already passed it. The landscaping is run down. check-in was easy. The wood step up to the room was dangerous. Be careful if you are not sure footed. The room was very nice. Very clean. Bedding was also clean and well done. No frills in the room. Very large room. Could use a couple chairs with a small round table to have coffee at. Bathroom was small but clean also. Speaking to the clerk that checked us in, he told us they are going to focus on doing a lot more work around the outside with landscaping and the such. It's a work in progress. I wouldn't let the outside condition stop me from staying again. It was a reasonable price considering it is expensive to stay on the Cape.
- Elena (10/5): - I was pleasantly surprised how nice this stay was. The rooms were completely remodeled and clean. The beds were comfortable. I would recommend staying here.
- Arian (8/5): - Nothing fancy about this hotel. For the price and proximity to provincetown and other great beach towns its worth it
- cheryl (10/5): - Really nice, comfortable and affordable!
- Patricia (8/5): - Location
- Cynthia (10/5): - Customer service was awesome!!!!!! Anything we needed we were given. Our room was Clean lovely and pleasant. Will definitely be back!!!!
- James (6/5): - not the nicest place I have stayed, but not the worst. It was OK for a touristy location. Staff was not overly friendly (when I did see one) Door locks didn't work worth a damn. Still using a metal key type lock with dead bolt and door handle lock. Take a bit of a finesse to get ours open. I would most likely not stay there again. The only reason we did was because it was getting hard to find a place last minute (2 weeks from needed date) middle of summer season. No hot water in the sink but shower got hot. It was better than sleeping in the truck.
- Michael (6/5): Minimal-service budget hotel has nice rooms & pool - We had a mixed experience at this hotel. If you are looking for a lower-cost hotel in Eastham with nice roooms, nice pool, and recreation equipment for your toddlers, then this is the place for you. The downside is that the hotel provides no service. They are understaffed and often have nobody working at the front office, nor do they provide a way to contact them. I was sitting in the large, public room adjacent to the office (a former breakfast area), and saw several arriving customers having to turn on their car alarm in order to get someone to come to check them in. They provided no ice bucket in each room, although ice is available near the office (a several minute walk from the two buildings with rooms)
- AJ (10/5): - Super clean
- Verified traveler (6/5): - An actual motel—drive up to your room and there you are. The room is a time capsule—a 1960s style updated with good lighting, fridge and good bed linen. No magic fingers, but otherwise exactly what you would expect for a motor hotel.
- Jaime (10/5): - Super stay!!! Our room looked newly renovated and was clean and comfortable! Staff was extremely friendly- thank you for being here when we arrived late!
- Elizabeth A (6/5): - Decent motel for a short stay. Property is a bit worn, but rooms are clean and bed is comfortable. Staff were very nice.
- Olivia j (10/5): fun! - A nice little room, lots of restaurants and activities in the area!
- Garrett (10/5): - Clean great place
- Keith (8/5): Decent Motor Inn with Friendly Staff - I stayed at Viking Shores for an overnight while visiting family on the Cape. The facility is a typical motor inn with limited service and amenities however, it was clean and comfortable at a decent price.
Room has fridge, microwave and hair dryer but no cups or coffee maker. Also located directly on the bike trail for cycling enthusiasts.
The front desk was very accommodating for an early check-in and late-check out to match my schedule.
- Carol (6/5): Beware before booking - The room was recently renovated but the property was old and dated. I was staying on the side that opened to woods and was also eaten alive by knots and mosquitoes that got into my room from the cleaning crew. Not a pleasant experience
- Steve (10/5): - Friendly staff, good location, clean
- Jennifer (6/5): - Property was ok. Pool could have been cleaner. Our door had gaps up top and bottom allowing bugs in at night. Good location, easy access & parking.
- Paul (8/5): - Clean neat and convenient would definitely say here again
- Allison (10/5): - We stayed here Fourth of July and were pleasantly surprised how nice this motel was. We would absolutely stay again
- Jeremy (10/5): - Great stay! Very clean! Would definitely stay again!!
- Elena (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Great location near amazing beaches and dining. Would highly recommended.
- elizabeth (10/5): Great - The stay at the Viking shore inn was great. The cleaning service was great and cleanliness was great
- Luisa (10/5): Cape Cod at it's best - Mid-week, it was quiet. Loved the pool area, picnic area and motel layout. Did the trick for me and my daughter and her baby!
- Bryant (10/5): - Really nice
- Maria (8/5): - Love it
- Rachel (10/5): - Neat comfortable and very clean
- Deborah (6/5): - When we walked into the room I first noticed the cleanliness and was pleased. Plenty of towels and toiletries. The next day though,we noticed a few ants in the room, wondered if they were coming from under the door to outside. You could see the daylight through the crack at the bottom of the door and the ground.
- Darrin Scott (8/5): - Great discount property! Not Great, Not Bad... Key Points: Very Quiet, Hot Shower w/ Great Pressure, Great Location on Cape Cod
- elizabeth (10/5): - Lovely staff. Comfy bed and linens. Newly designed room, tastefully designed. Would stay again.
- Amy (10/5): - The staff at the front desk was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The property was easy to find and close to everything that I needed.
- John (4/5): - Rooms recently renovated but are very stark and cold. Only one work chair in room and it is a work chair. No table to eat in room. Three small drawers for clothing. Landscaping not kept up. Grass cut for the FIRST time while we were there June 10. Telephone did not work for outside calls. Previous owner did much better job.
- Lily (10/5): - My family and I came down to the Cape a day earlier than planned and were planning on camping but last minute decided to book a hotel. Check in was easy, the room was very nice and clean, and my kids really enjoyed the playground. It was also extremely affordable and we were very happy with our stay. We will definitely be back!
